Oh, the vagaries of spending a week three time zones away!
My sleep was already interrupted at home… lately, my internal alarm clock at home has been waking me up at 4:30 or 5:00 every morning. I try to get back to sleep, but I am not always successful. While in Vegas, that translated into waking up at 2:30 or 3:00 every morning and, again, not always being successful at going back to sleep, though I got better at it toward the end of the week.
Still, we three all had a great time together! The conference went swimmingly and the hotel staff were all very attentive. We saw the Beatles Love Show at The Mirage and it was fabulous! It was a Cirque du Soleil production. I bought two souvenirs there for my 15-year-old grandson, who is a huge Beatles fan: a blue silk tie with a yellow submarine on it and a DVD with a documentary about the making of the show. I really hope there is some good Beatles footage on that DVD, since he is too young to have really seen much of them. Elsewhere, I bought some gifts for my daughter and son-in-law, and for Paul, including some chocolate, but nothing very extravagant.
It was a bit surreal for me… having to walk through a casino to get to a restaurant. The noise level and the cigarette smoke were enough to wish there were other options. No opportunities to tempt one to gamble must be overlooked in Vegas. And yet, I did not gamble. Any where. Not even at the airport. And then there were the very high-end stores, such as Chanel, Tiffany, Prada, Armani, Dior, Gucci, Fendi, Bottega Veneta, Yves Saint Laurent and on and on… I did not even walk into any of them. There was something so unseemly about the kind of money that people were spending when so many others are jobless, homeless, and wondering where their next meal might come from.
I’ve been helping my friend with this conference every year since 2002 and now we have a third person who will likely be a dependable regular. The conference attendees include MDs, EMTs, engineers, all of whom collaborate on research that may result in preventing injuries from car crashes. Many very smart people attend this conference every year, from both private industry and academia.
There were papers on mechanisms of injury and quite a few on vulnerable drivers, one on how various forms of sleep disturbance can affect one’s driving, not to mention one’s health, and a few this time on driving under the influence. I work this conference every year, because one of my sisters died many years ago in a highway accident, and my family was never the same afterward. They do important work and some of the legislation requiring booster seats for children has come from data released at this conference.
How do you cope when you travel several time zones away? It seems to me that traveling west is more difficult, since you must wake up earlier and then stay awake even later, and, so you end up burning the candle at both ends of the day. And, in my case, I woke at my usual east coast time, but translated into west coast time.
I wanted to log in last weekend, but $40 per hour for using the internet in the business center seemed a bit steep to me.

About Firedoglake
In 1990, I was off the coast of California doing workups on Independence when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. We were ordered to the Persian Gulf. The journey there wasn’t difficult because a ship doesn’t travel that fast though we lost a couple of hours every day. It was the trip back that was rough. I flew off the deck to Riyadh, then to Turkey, then to Ramstein, then somewhere in England, then New Jersey, then Louisisana, then Texas and finally to Miramar. (Then I had to take a bus because my car was in Coronado!) To this day I’m confused about how long that took. I’m sure I’m missing a day somewhere but I can’t figure out where. The next couple of weeks are a fog.
Good morning! :)
Good Morning All…Not sure why Im up so early…May be thanks to the cat doing some jumps. S’posed to rain here, so may be a day to stay put.
Thanks for writing this. Unseemly: such a good word.
Welcome back, and thanks for your contribution to highway safety. Have never been to Vegas, and gambling bores me completely. The scene you describe has happened to me a few times on cruise ships. I go for the great places to visit (without having to live out of a suitcase) but a lot of passengers are at the tables much of the time. Not an attraction at all to me.
Last time I went to Vegas, I had a headache for the first day or so. I’m sure it was because I was tired. Then I went to see Blue Man Group, which was fabulous and energizing. Poof…headache gone. Now I know that what I need is an adrenaline rush to fend off the jet lag.
good morning, Karen. I’ve never been to las vagas; from your description, people watching would be my top activity ….
I’ve been to Vegas. It’s just not my bag, baby! Lights, noise, loud people. Like one huge nightclub/casino. I can’t stand the place but that’s just me. I like the quiet life.
We had your rain here to your north yesterday, it was lovely. Very timely, as I just planted some cool weather veggies.
I like everywhere, jet-lag be damned. Put me on a plane (destination unknown) and I’ll be happy.
I’ve never had trouble with time zones, depending on what time I arrive, usually I get myself some sleep deprivation before the flight so I can sleep onboard
ps
I love casinos, I love people watching, I love the night club atmosphere, I love the shoes
when in vegas I find out which club most of the entertainers go to after work
you go there and you will have the time of your life, the enter world is their stage when they are off work and you will see some of the best ad-lib talent in the world just breaking out and enjoying their talent with others
good times
I am not a gambler, can’t stand the table games they bore me but I just love a casino
When Mr. Solai and I were in London we went to see The Graduate with Jerry Hall. I thought he would like to see Mick Jagger’s wife topless. We both fell asleep.
would david bowie do?
The last time I travelled west ,it was to boot camp at Lackland AFB . I don’t remember any difficulty with my sleep schedule, but then again I was usually so exhausted I fell right to sleep.
My biggest sleep issue is trying to sleep in a strange place, I will never quite fall asleep, laying in bed in a half sleep while having weird dreams.
OT was looking through my daughters room for a movie to watch, found this DVD called Natural Born Killers. I remembered hearing that this movie was produced by”sweet Jane” Hamsher,so I decided to watch it.
Holy Shit!! This has got to be one of the sickest and weirdest movies I’ve ever seen.
I’m surprised I was able to sleep, having watched just before going to bed.
Strange !!!!!
Bloomberg News provides Kevin Hassett of the AEI a platform to attack the USPS, key phrase; “As with the stimulus, the American Left finds itself far to the left of even the Statist Europeans”.
I just had a phone interview for a job in Boerne. It was determined that I was qualified, (duh), and they are supposed to email or call me in a week. I won’t get my hopes up. This is just one of a series of real good interviews that haven’t called me back.
Great, hope it comes through. I guess ‘break a leg’ isn’t the right way to wish you get a job though?
I disagree. Moving East to West I’ve found far easier to adjust than moving West to East.
Case in point. When I was in the USAF transferring to Hawai’i. I had a two and half day train ride total to transition from eastern time to pacific time, traveling Saturday night from Louisville through Chicago and arriving San Fransisco Tuesday afternoon. Had to get up at about 4:30AM Wednesday morning for flight to Hawai’i (left about 6AM or so IIRC). Arrived Hawai’i about 9AM local time. I stayed up until roughly 10PM local time and was quickly adjusted to local time after that.
However flying east to west from Hawai’i to central or eastern time zones, I left at 7PM at night Hawai’i time and I left at 10AM Hawai’i but always reached my destination time zone in the 5 to 8AM local time frame
Just really seems to wear me out flying west to east more than east to west.
If you were going to San Antonio from the East coast it would only be one time zone which is usually fairly easy to adapt to (altho the key is that they force everyone to arrive at Lackland later in the evening so they can start the breakdown of the individual due to being extra tired since they have you at the recruiting station early in the morning of that travel day.)
The original script was by Quentin Tarantino who disavowed the finished product from Oliver Stone.
To me, it was the satire on the violence aspect of reporting and such from the TradMed even as actual criminal violence slowly drops.
Yikes! Sorry I’m so late… still recovering from that lack of sleep.
Thanks. Yeah, “break a leg” sounds more ominous when talking about anything but performing.
That’s quite a story, Margaret. Might make for an interesting post some time.
You were just effectively illustrating your own point, no doubt.
Okay, Margaret, I won’t send wishes about bones, then.
RevBev, there were quite a few things that were unseemly… mostly it was the attire.
You’re most welcome, Ruth. Happy to oblige.
I was thrilled that we stayed in a hotel that was not a casino. So, for the most part, we were spared having to walk through the noise and smoke, except when we tried to find somewhere else to eat.
I always try to sleep on the plane, usually unsuccessfully. Even when I went to Europe and to Australia… I mostly stayed awake.
Arrived in Boston at 5:30 AM got to Lackland at 2:30 AM.
I made the mistake of getting drunk at Logan with several other guys(17 of us went from Boston to Lackland that day) and was not feeling too good when I got to Texas
Yep. It’s quite a sensory assault. Some people like that kind of thing but I wouldn’t be one of them.
I’ve never seen that, and now, from your reaction, I probably never will.
LMAO! I don’t know. It was fairly boring actually. Nothing to do on ship but work and sleep and nothing to do in the air but wait and sleep. I can say I’ve been around the world but I wish I’d had a book to read while doing the second half of it.
OH, GOOD GRIEF!
Best wishes, Margaret… I do hope that something good comes through for you.
It’s time for me to get my butt up off this chair, many things to do today.
I hope you all have great Saturn’s Day !
Saturday’s child must work for a living.
I’ll bet that was a great show. The Beatles show required a bit of adrenaline, too. I couldn’t go to sleep immediately when I got back to my room.
It’s probably the cheapest activity in Vegas, too. Although, it helps to be sitting in a restaurant with a great window on the street.
Spinach? Cabbages?
That’s pretty funny. So, he completely missed her being topless?
I woke up well before 8:00 and then fell back to sleep. I think I’m finally just about recovered. It was waking up all those mornings at 2:30 or 3:00 that really did me in.
Chard, collards, kale, several kinds of lettuces and parsley. All well watered now.
Yesterday, I decided to get a pedicure, which I knew would come with a foot massage. It was great, exactly what I needed. My feet are often sore when I first wake up in the morning, but they weren’t today.
I promise to be more timely next week.
Mmmmm, leafy greens!
My father was stationed at Lackland, too, but that was many decades ago. Must have been in the 60s. My mother elected not to go with him to that base, so we stayed in Florida while he was there.
Morning everyone from this not very frequent flyer. Twice to the west coast.
Driven more than a few times to CO. South to central IL and east to Detroit area. Short canoe trips or overnight/weekend sailboat outings to a Great Lakes destination (in a small open boat, i.e. camping) only a few miles by water can seem like much more if an adventure and get-away to me.
Margaret, I met a potential new client for my regular work yesterday (again being assailed/reprimanded by my teen daughter about talking/saying hello to people I might not know, in public places) and visit them Monday to discuss their remodeling project. They were impressed by my volunteer work for Habitat and another non-profit for developmentally disabled adults. I do so hope your lead pans out for you.
I’m always talking to people I don’t know, too, often in the grocery store, or some other place of business. Paul often finds me talking to someone I’ve never met before.
Ruth, enjoyed your Family Values piece….what a collection. thanks
We both did. lol
Good morning all.
Slept really late this morning to find the subject is sleep.
I usually don’t have trouble with time zones; adjust after a day. Used to have a routine when I did European biz trips 2x/year.
Now there’s this thing called teh google, which is full of suggestions. Also, I found that melatonin helped; used it from time-to-time.
I bought some melatonin for a trip once, but didn’t use it, since it had milk products in it, and they don’t agree with me. I might try it now, though, since they don’t seem to bother me quite as much.
Siamese? Mine is insane in the morning. Doesn’t walk. Only jumps from furniture to furniture until I am up; then out for the morning.
Good Morning, Karen and Other Pups
I slept in too. Yummmmmmm. I’ve never traveled very much, so nothing to say about that. But, usually, where ever I is, there I am.
But, also, I’m another one of those people who chat with strangers. Yak, yak, yak.
My Father was stationed at Bergstrom AFB in Austin, he went there when Lyndon became President. He ran the at the LBJ ranch airstrip whenever Johnson was there.
This person volunteers time at a second hand store, (I was getting my shopping fix, found two pairs of carpenter blue jeans, exact size needed, almost new, $5 a pr) is retired from working at the college I am hoping my youngster might qualify for a scholarship and got some inside info on how their scholarship program worked, including who to approach for results at that college.
Where is Bergstrom? I haven’t heard of that base. Is it still around?
Kuroneko woke me up at 6:30 and has since worn herself out with her crazed leaping. She got to go back to bed too.
No, but it is this oddly arrived new habit. Either she gets on my bed and paws me or jumps on desk in bedroom and stirs everything around…from there she can look out the window. I’ve only had her about a year, so she has definitely been finding her way around.
Austin and now it’s a civilian airport.
What a great lead… always great to get some inside info on scholarships and the application process.
I’m off. Enjoy the day, everyone.
That’s probably why I don’t know it, although I have been to Austin, but we traveled by car.
Don’t you hate that? They get you up…then go back to sleep. What a life.
I suppose they might be hungry and when they’ve eaten, they just want a nap?
The conversion to commercial airport is fairly recent (about 10 years.) The old airport was sort of mid-town, and Bergstrom was out in the country. The kids there used to have to get a school bus to come in to Austin schools.
Leapin’ Kitties. I’ve had several cats through out my life, but never a jumping one. :D
Even though you’ve had many interviews that haven’t worked through to employment, I am so proud of your persistance. You go, girl. Maybe this is one of those activities that stretches to the length of the time period given. Maybe I just haven’t had my coffee and that doesn’t make sense to anyone but me. I’m going to keep you in my thoughts and lift up the best possible situation for you to happen between now and the very near future.
I did finally get a chance to peek at last week’s thread and I have to go back and bookmark the recipes and links to recipes, because I love to make soup. It’s what I usually prefer for lunch.
Seems to be…eat & nap. That’s eat. And funny how they get the “owner” to do what they want. Im really quite obedient.
I agree, demi. Margaret’s persistence should be rewarded with a job.
Thanks, my alltime favorite was Bootsie Mandel, tho, taking over the governor’s mansion. The CStreet gang reminds me of a piece of snark I heard about Tricia Nixon, ‘she gives cleanliness and godliness a bad name.’
Edit; and now it’s up at theseminal!
Has everyone had breakast yet? I’m still thinking about mine. Probably yogurt and oatmeal.
Any other suggestions?
Amazing stories…Didn’t Rudy’s wife stay in the Mayor’s mansion also after she heard on TV that she was divorcing? I think that’s about the way it went…really a guy you want in your life, right?
I’ve been to Vegas a half a dozen times for trade shows and have always enjoyed it. I don’t really gamble, but have dropped a total of about twenty bucks into slots. I do like the sounds in the casinos. It’s almost musical. I wouldn’t be surprised if they put some money into tuning the sound. The only actual shows I’ve seen have been Cirque du Solail’s. What I enjoy most are trips into the surrounding area. Hoover Dam is always worth a trip, and now they’ve got that new bridge. One trip we went out to the dam late at night and were the only people there. That was weird. Red Rock Canyon is a good trip and so is Mt. Charleston.
That sounds good: I think I have English muffins, cheese, and Canadian bacon…need to start that way myself.
Really! I don’t know that I’d want to be married to a guy who looks better in a gown than I do. Snort. Not that there’s anything wrong with teh drag. Ha.
When my quite elderly aunt died, the minister said of course she was against gambling….but some quarters in the slot machines she did not consider gambling. We loved it.
What a story that was! To find out via TV that your husband is divorcing you. As I recall, he also wanted his wife to leave the mansion so he could install his then mistress, who is now his wife?
LOL…
LOL: I said the almost the same thing to a dance instructor…a young guy…not so fun to dance with someone way better looking than I…/s.
Well, I have my yogurt now. Raspberry from So Delicious, made from coconut milk. And so good for you!
Did she? Not that well versed in NY legends, tho. Living in the D.C. suburbs, we got inundated with Fannie Foxe’s tidal basin dip and the like, and Bootsie. Nothing like spectacular spats for fun.
Im getting my yogurt…before I starve, right?
Just imagine if Rudy were the candidate in 2012. A Dem might even win. But I seriously doubt that R could get that nomination.
Can’t have you fainting away from hunger!
Oooooh, dance lessons? How much fun is that? What kind of dance?
Where do you get that? Regular groceries?
I had that ‘what do I do with three eggs’ moment, so cleaned out the carton into a bread pocket (whole wheat) – will not go hungry anytime soon!
Several years ago…it was fun. Small group…waltz, cha-cha, etc. I was not good at Tx 2-step. I think he had gotten into some kind of weird competition by then. But is was fun, and I’ve thought about doing it again in order to sort of keep up.
Im glad we could all have breakfast together….I am thinking about staying inside all day.
A coworker and her husband are taking dance lessons, too, because their daughter is getting married next year.
You’re inspiring me; there is a local activity center that offers some classes. I really should investigate. I’ve always liked to dance, but have not for quite awhile.
that’s always a good way to be, it even has environmental rewards, saves on gas! and I see that we have a very warm winter predicted, again, saving on fossil fuels is good.
I used to get it at the Giant supermarket, but I quit buying it from them, because they don’t seem to be as careful about storage. That coconut milk yogurt is more fragile. So, I’ve gone back to getting it at my local health food store. However, Whole Foods also carries it, along with the other products they make, such as coffee creamer, coconut milk (both refrigerated and not) and ice cream. Great stuff!
Coconut fat is saturated, but it’s a medium chain fatty acid, so you don’t store it like the long chain fatty acids. Instead, you’re more likely to use it for energy.
When I make cocoa, I use mostly almond milk, but add a little bit of the coconut milk, too. Delicious!
Dance can be the most fun way to keep in shape. Not that I am, but I should get back into some working out routine. I saw some small weights at Target a couple of weeks ago, but didn’t want to spend the money. Really, I think I was just being lazy. Maybe I’ll go out today and get them! I really need to get OUT today, as I spent the entire week cooped up. No car. But, as this is the weekend and my mister will be home, I can borrow his wheels.
You just curl up with a good book and Angela and enjoy your day. Except for a few time outs for a little cha cha cha!
Mine is 14, judges the distance and ‘hops,’ up to her favorite blanket on ‘her’ chair after showing me that her food dish might not look full enough. Then almost instantly snoring. I let her outside in the morning after it’s light enough that the night critters have retired for the day. After an hour or so checking the perimeter and she is wanting inside now that the weather is cooler. She has not ever clawed the furniture or wood work nor hunted the kitchen counters for snacks. Though even with two clean litter boxes, in the nice weather, she would prefer the flower bed right at the front door to the house so I had to lay down a bit of chicken wire to discourage that trick.
Being realistic about her age, I do wonder if I would ever get a replacement for her in the future. I trust I could find a good cat-nidate a couple years old and already trained at the local shelter when that time comes.
Back to the travel thing, off to take inlaws to airport to fly to their home in the west. Had a nice week with some of my immediate family.
Be well, peace.
It it’s too hot or rainy, that sounds like a great plan.
I had planned to go to a beading class today, but my grandson’s school has their homecoming game this afternoon, and I may do that instead. I’m waiting to see how Paul is feeling. He wasn’t feeling well while I was away.
Have a safe trip to the airport. And, peace back attcha, NQ.
Thanks for this chat….I have enough chores to keep me inside. And, it’s going to rain for a while. What does SD say?
Thanks. Later.
Phoenix Woman has a post up on Minnesota politics and it appears to be highly entertaining.
We had to walk off base to the old Del Valle Schools. Many Del Valle grads are AF brats, present company included! I’m Sorry it took so long to reply I had to walk my dog.
Oh yes. Donna Hanover (wiki) did indeed get her bits of revenge.
From CBS News
People
I’m another AF brat, though I never went to school in Texas, mostly midwestern SAC bases for us. Ugh!
Quick, before you leave, or check it out later… at Huffingtonpost, they have a picture of a cat needlepoint that says Give us this day our daily cheezburger. I thought you’d like it. Having trouble doing the linky thing on my son’s computer, or I’d have handed it to ya.
Bye.
And to Margaret:
Both exactly like Claudette. It seems to have gotten more prominent since fall has been coming on. I think they may be a bit chilly and trying to get warm or me up to make it warmer. I had a Burmese that, I kid you not, would howl then go sit under the wall thermostat until I turned the heat up.
G’morning all !
Is it me or does this seem odd – Geithner to meet China’s Wang on Sunday
from one of the stories
Oh, good grief! She did those bizarre experiments/tests on dogs, for crying out loud.
I wonder if these guys who want to privatize the postal service send their mail via FedEx? I can’t imagine any private outfit ever doing mail for less than a couple dollars per piece.
G’Morning Petro.
Ha! Leave it to you to find that headline. Thanks for the smile you always put on my face.
Odd? We’ve been open to China’s Wang for decades.
OMG. The bendover decade. And, that comment coming from dick. It might be too early in the day for this. Or, maybe not.
That really would be a moral outrage. Everyone (with a bank account) would have to begin banking online. Who could afford to pay bills via FedEx?
Okay, it’s time to make some oatmeal? Any takers?
Bob’s Red Mill Gluten-free oatmeal.
{{{ demi }}}
That should be good for 2 days of quips from this bunch … *g*
*Raises Hand*
I’ll get the Maple Syrup & Blueberries …
Yeppers. And, I’m just fine, anyway. You can’t keep a good demi down. 5 minutes, max. Still, I’ll take the hug.
I woke up tired today. Does not happen all that often, but I worked hard this week.
I happened to be in Las Vegas when W invaded Iraq. I felt like walking around the place with a big “NO WAR” painted on my forehead. It seems to me that LV would be the ideal place to blow up–a symbol of the USA with alla those suitcases piled up in the lobbies.
My father had a particular trade show that he liked to attend in LV, so he went 1x a year for many years. Toward the end, it was a place Little Momma could not go–to big to walk around, too uncomfortable to travel. So he would take some of the “kids.” My first year, I had to lay on the floor at one point, from exhaustion. My father LOVED to shop, and he was like the energizer bunny, even into his 80s. The last trip, he told all of his regular venders, “This is the last time you’ll see me.” It was rough for everyone.
But the description of the place–the sounds, smells, scale of all of it to excess. Right on. I really can’t stand the place.
Bergstrom was a SAC Base, too. In fact, it was a special forward deployed Base. It was considered safe for B-52′s armed with 4 thermonuclear devices to fly over the school.
But when the base was converted to commercial use, it was deemed Too dangerous” for commercial flight to pass over the school.
Wonderful cat. Don’t think about replacement too soon. My Pete lived to be 22 and the one before them 21. I did choose to replace Pete with two, one Siamese and another Burmese. Now I worry as a parent that they will both likely outlive me. On the other hand they keep me living we will have each other for a while yet.
Alex the Burmese is very well trained and will be loved wherever he goes but I have done not so well with Claudette.
LOL You’re probably right. It is too early for this.
I only said maybe. Frankly, I think any time is levity time. :O
Yikes! my laptop keeps hanging up on me.
Yummy! I love blueberries and maple syrup, especially on oatmeal!
I could not believe how many children I saw there! Including infants in strollers. Don’t parents today know anything about the effects of second-hand smoke on their children’s lungs?!
Petrocelli and I are about to enjoy some oatmeal with blueberries and maple syrup.
Many thanks to all of you for stopping by this morning… I’m glad that I now have LV out of my system. It’s good to be home and sleeping in my own bed, despite how beautiful that room was.
I guess people like to think of it as some kind of Disneyland. Cheesy, and fake. Not for me.
Oatmeal sounded good. I went with raisins and brown sugar… as usual. I’ve got blueberries in the freezer. Not enough for a pie, but I was imagining them in scones. Now that you’ve mentioned them in oatmeal it’ll be interesting to see if they last long enough.
I usually add raisins, too, but forgot them this morning. So, a little cinnamon, honey and some coconut milk. Delicious!
Very fake, I agree. Fortunately, I wasn’t staying in a casino. That would have been unbearable.
Yum! I better go before I decide to eat another meal.
Mornin’, Karen, pups
Been stayin’ up late all week listening to baseball so I slept in really late this mornin’. Tigers kept wakin’ me up but I just shooed ‘em off and went back to sleep.
I did a lot of flying while in the Navy, and after, and found that if I slept most of the time I was in the air then did whatever I would normally do at that time of day after I landed I didn’t suffer from jet lag.
Heh. The last time I was in Vegas many of the casinos were still run by the mob. They liked servicemen/women and made the stay most enjoyable. Usually left with more money than what I had when I got there.
I travel from Hawaii to the East Coast [DC] 4-5 times per year. Give me east to west anytime, despite two back-to-back 5-1/2 hour flights.
Going east, you HAVE to endure an overnight flight [no stop-overs if you're on a really cheap ticket or miles]. My MO is to take a late night overnight flight out of Maui, then fly “all day” from LAX or SFO to the East Coast. When I arrive, it’s 4 pm or so. I make myself stay up, fall in bed @ 10 pm [only 4 pm Hawaii time], and am so exhausted I can usually sleep through & adjust.
What I really love are the overnight flights from Maui non-stop to Chicago, or Honolulu to Newark. They are SO long that you can sleep, unlike the 4 hour legs from OGG-LAX/SFO, where, just as you fall asleep, “we’ve arrived!!”
Edt: you can see the Hawaii time zone effect. It’s 8 am here, and I just got on-line, but it’s 2 pm on the East Coast, 11 am on the West. Ah well, the place is backward in so many ways, this fits right in.
Thanks for sorting that out, Mauimom!
I handle time zone displacement with exercise. alcohol or both when needed.
As for Vegas, I don’t mind if I am sent there every 5-10 years for 2-3 days but any greater frequency or duration is intolerable.
Not a gambler, but I can spend an evening at the blackjack table without getting totally bored or broke.
Wonderful, Karen. The conference sounds like a very worthy endeavor.
Peace…
