Yo Sister Suzie, jest stopped in to see what condition yer condition was in…keep the tunes hot and the red flags flyin’!! And get your sweet butt out to vote if ya already haven’t.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION IF YOUR NOT GUNNA USE IT!!
Chilly here tonight, possibly getting down to the high 30′s for the first time in quite a while. But I love the cool weather. Weekend is supposed to be great, around 70 each day!
NORSKE!!! how ya been dood? already filled in my mail in ballot and am gonna drop it off at one of the ballot boxes in town when i head to town tomorrow.
tis warmer with this storm. had gotten down into the 30′s at night last week but with these storm, its a balmy 57 outside right now… a full 10 degrees over the temp this time last night
pretty good mini-vacation so far … i should be able to wrap up the last of my outside tasks tomorrow. And i got a good start on digging a nice big shallow hole in my yard for the back-ordered blueberry bushes that will arrive next spring.
How’s the Left Coast? Hope you’ve shook off the bug and are feeling all chipper.
*heh* I got ya beat, M’dear… Pulled my absentee paper ballot Tuesday and had it scanned 20 mins later…! Fricking county had a page worth of Charter changes they wanted… I voted ‘no’ on quite a few…! ;-)
just a wee headache is all that remains…. i expect tomorrow i can go to town and stock up on stuff without overdoing (like i did tuesday with the housecleaning)
“Sometimes you put walls up not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down.”__unattributed quote, but I think my daughter may have posted it somewhere….
Jest tryin’ ta make it, Brother CT, my kids and grandkids are takin over now…don’t have the sauce ta take anything too seriously anymore except doin’ my duty and puttin in the hours tryin ta fulfill my obligations of citizenship and get the vote out in my little burg…still workin’ for my councilperson ta turn the town around before the place goes bankrupt.
Sister Suzanne, you’re the greatest…I really don’t give a shit who ya voted for as long as ya let the bastards know you’re still out there.
Gotta get ta bed before I start thinkin’ it’s time for breakfast.
Big question. Are you pups ready to join the lolcats and learn how to build a progressive/leftist/whatever movement that isn’t wedded to the hip with the Democratic Party like an abused spouse?
If you are, there’s only one requirement and I’ll show you how. There can be no leaders.
Let me get this part out of the way at the beginning. Because I’m chaos neutral.
Oh jeeze, running out of steam here, have been up since 0500 my time…sis is coming up Friday for the weekend, and I’ve got a boatload of stuff to get done before she gets here.
How about being sold down the river by that duplicitous corporately-owned sumbitch in the Oval Office? I mean seriously, has he managed to keep 50% of any campaign promise he’s made? And filing an appeal in the Ashcroft case, why doesn’t he just sign the keys to the Federal Government over to the Corporate Fascists? I mean, fuckity fuck fuck…
I’m with Dan Choi, I’ll write in Jane in 2012 before I vote for that assclown again.
this storm coming in this weekend may bring ya some relief when it hits ya early next week. snow down to the 4’000 ft level is forecast for the cascades
Nothing of any importance at all, but I was paging through some Bach the other day to see if there was something I wanted to compete with in that Organ thing for next Spring.
I’ve finally figured out why Comcast/MSNBC gave Lawrence O’Donnell the 10PM slot: he’s the Catfood Commission’s media representative. He had former senators Danford and Bradley, both who have been losing sleep for decades over the very idea of that old folks don’t die before collecting for the years paying into it. And, surprise, Gary Hart, who I at first thought was there for balance, but, instead, too wants old folks to pay the government’s bills, and spare the rich.
This is O’Donnell’s crusade, folks. He’s being paid to sell it.
yup… we are way overdue and there’s not a fucking program in sight to help ‘we the people’. the only folks that get help are fucking ceo’s and tbtf banksters
just passing through tonight. it’s starting to be what passes for fall here. 50′s at night and 80′s in the daytime. i quite like it. i been laying around for a while. hurt my back, but i did try to get up and dance to your pipe organ suggestion, suz, so i must definitely be improving. i’m thrilled to say.
Just a drop in: I’m still reeling from seeing big-smile Ed Rendell on Parker-Spitzer cheerfully saying that Medicare should be pushed back to age 70. Shit. I was paying almost $1k a month at 64 for group insurance. I couldn’t have made it to 70. What these jerks don’t know will kill us.
Don’t listen to the hype about Dean’s people though. It’s like any community, when you move into it there is a culture that existed already. Tapping into that culture is what works.
Nader, while annoying to me, would have had a great intro to the culture with the anti-corp anti-party message he had.
I’m ready. I’m also into setting up camp sites on some of the dozens of extra homes of the rich. What they don’t seem to understand is that their children will forever be at risk if they don’t begin to understand the damage they are doing. I’m sure Chimpy’s ‘ranch’ is available for folks to nest on. I’m sure he quit cutting brush just as quick as he could!
CTuttle, that’s just one of the reasons I became a French National…. They got people that rip up the flag stones and chuck them at the gendarmes/police and government peeps who screw with the rights of the commons
You KNOW I love Dolores O’Riordan and Cranberries!
*G*
Great catch . . . I’d add a hundred more, but it’s all there on UTube for Pups to follow.
Zombie is a classic, as is anything off of To The Faithful Departed I’d argue that’s the best they ever did . . . they were a protest band, out on racism, eco issues, anti war and so much more.
I heartily endorser all Pups to explore The Cranberries and Dolores O’Riordan . . . lord she’s got pipes and style . . . great music IMHO.
Hi Suz…. we are fairly dry, had our frog drowner at about 3 this afternoon and everything is wet and wild but not too bad, just the noseeums are out in force and i got to light a coil here in a bit….
‘Nite all. Keep your camping gear in order and your tank gassed up. I can’t, honestly, believe that we haven’t had someone call for a march on Washington. We are sadly lacking in leaders; that’s for sure.
What I see happening in the United States is the multiplying of isolated violence against representatives of the wealthy and political elite. They’ll be a growing underground of groups commiting surgical attacks upon well-defined symbols of greed as more and more are driven out of their homes and become acquainted with folks they never ever thought they would be breaking bread with.
Tomorrow we have a PacBoat (one of the Princess Lines) at our main Pier all day. They come in about 8am and leave about sunset and will go to Bora Bora for Sat. and Sun… Sometimes they’re fair, but most of the time they try to bargain the mama’s down on what they are selling. They do not realize that the trinket business here is a home industry and these people work damn hard and long to make their mother of pearl pendants, necklaces, ear rings etc. Along with the TiFaiFai blankets and pillowsand so on… I will try to get down and take some pics of the boat and the blue hairs….
Some of that is locals fault. I was told by the locals in Acapulco one year that the flea market sellers would consider it an insult if you didn’t haggle aggressively. Which was weird because the prices were so cheap anyway I didn’t see a reason to get that extra 5 cents saved.
hah. i’ll have to ask my kids since all i want to do is sit in my garden. But yeah, Minneapolis is usually beautiful in the summer with all the lakes and the rivers.
This hibiscus I had never seen before and it is from my daughters garden. The beige color is spectacular I doubt that very many people have ever seen one this color
it has been my experience that when violence is discussed in the comments, it quickly slides down the slippery slope from prediction to advocacy or violent imagery or fantasy violence.
I have to stop reading the news, everything is just too damn depressing. I was trying to articulate the things that triggers this depression to Mrs. S and it all seems so silly.
Why should I care that a cabal of millionaires and billionaires are gathering with the Koch brothers to plan out their next phase of running the world? Why should I care about the Citizens United ruling? Why should I care about Juan Williams getting fired? (Actually I know why I care about this one because of the people on our side who will miss the point that this is NOT about his free speech.)
The part of me that wants to fight these people has proved that I can. The part of me that wants to paid to do it has not been satisfied and I don’t think ever will be. I’ll let the professional left do it.
Ctuttle, I spent some time on Moorea the last time I went to Tahiti for Cancer Control. I have a buddy that used to be my boss and before that he was my friend (still is).
sorry to bail early tonight but i’m tired and headed to bed. thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight and please don’t let my leaving slow down (or *gasp* stop) the conversations tonight.
Really? Two quotes I remember (excuse me if I forget which famous General said each) – “I don’t want you to die for your country, make the other guy die for his” (taking license on the quote too) & “He who lives to run away lives to fight another day.”
I prefer to scan that into my 21st century world. The most cost-effective, most beneficial way to win a war is to do so without firing a shot. I think the Romans figured that out. By offering the lesser enemy the chance to join not only avoided your own casualties but increased the number of your ranks when they joined up.
But hey, I’ve been told I lick Sun Tzu’s too much before.
Chillax. Stop watching the news like it is actually something new and it might get easier to deal with.
They’ve been trying to find a way to fire Juan because of the heat they’ve taken for years with him being “NPR guy” when he appears on FNC. The question was always “when.”
As far as rich people getting together, if there is one thing everyone needs to learn is that Madison Avenue has trained you from the day you could watch tv to believe that money solves all problems.
No tv? Why is that even a problem when there’s parks and libraries and people to visit?
Not quite sure what you’re asking. Barry Mcguire recorded Eve of Destruction. Kenny Rodger was first with the New Christie Minstrels, then First Edition, then solo.
Larue, Man that was a blast from the past…. I remember that, I was still single and livin on easy….. Not young, just 2 years retired outta the Navy and the world was my oyster….
Thanks…. Those were some really glorious days, gold and green and glorious/ Kona Gold Glorious days
Jeff, I have a d70 and a d200 and I am trying to set up the EV for HDR photog work…
Here in Tahiti, in HDR I am sure I can sell the world if I can get it mastered
You & I seems the only ones here, and I have no idea about the CA rally. I’ll be pretty much taken up with domestic chores today, so won’t be watching even if it is televised.

Full moon tomorrow. We have a new show
;-)
Loooking for quarters for the jukebox – this one always comes up first when I look
Citizen Robertarend:
Brother Bob Dylan had a line that might resonate with ya tanight: “…some of us are prisoners and the rest of us are guards.”
Oh jeeze, running out of steam here, have been up since 0500 my time…sis is coming up Friday for the weekend, and I’ve got a boatload of stuff to get done before she gets here.

g’nite ll
Not quite freezing enough, dammit! I’ll be happy when the Allergy Gods are finally defeated here, and it’ll take that frost to do so.
HiYa Suze and fellow Pups…
What’s on my mind?
How about being sold down the river by that duplicitous corporately-owned sumbitch in the Oval Office? I mean seriously, has he managed to keep 50% of any campaign promise he’s made? And filing an appeal in the Ashcroft case, why doesn’t he just sign the keys to the Federal Government over to the Corporate Fascists? I mean, fuckity fuck fuck…
I’m with Dan Choi, I’ll write in Jane in 2012 before I vote for that assclown again.
That’s what’s on my mind, what’s on y’alls?
hey jo — how ya been dood?
Aloha, PPD, CE, LL, NDFG, and, anybody I might’ve missed…!
The Giants did have some great chances to put away the Phillies today, well, they still only have to win one more…! ;-)
Hopefully, it’ll be an all West matchup between the Rangers and G-men…! ;-)
this storm coming in this weekend may bring ya some relief when it hits ya early next week. snow down to the 4’000 ft level is forecast for the cascades

Hi Suz and everyone
hey loohoo — how’s socal tonight?
I see your Cranberries and raise you a Sinead O’Connor… :-)
hey margot — how was your day?
I love the Cranberries too. Talent.
Nothing of any importance at all, but I was paging through some Bach the other day to see if there was something I wanted to compete with in that Organ thing for next Spring.
Well, a fine piece reared it’s head. This is the Gigue to kill all Gigues.
It’s less than 3 minutes and won’t kill ya. It’s quite the Up tune. Have a listen.
*waves*
Been okay, wish I was back at work, rumor is that it might be early 2011 when we get our jobs back, and we’re back in the cockpit again…
Here’s to hoping!
Good to see you, Norske.

Yeah, CT, been laying low and provoking the daytime FDL’rs… LOL!
Very nice!
I’ve finally figured out why Comcast/MSNBC gave Lawrence O’Donnell the 10PM slot: he’s the Catfood Commission’s media representative. This is O’Donnell’s crusade, folks. He’s being paid to sell it.
I think I’m going to be writing a seminal….
oh goodie….. i do not like him. he’s a pompous ass who is quite full of himself
We’ve needed a jobs program since 2007.
Nite LL.
#45 is missing. Lurk???
Clear your caches and refresh…

Still drizzling, but warm here. I’m loving the green!!
Great thanks, it is going to be frosty tonight I think.
yup… we are way overdue and there’s not a fucking program in sight to help ‘we the people’. the only folks that get help are fucking ceo’s and tbtf banksters
Heh – well, what they want for competition at the audition in January is 2 classical organ pieces, and 2 novelty pieces.
It’s pipe organ people. I’m not gonna work up the Gigue for that comp.
They want WILDER pieces, for both genres.
Just paging through the music at hand. Reminded of that Bach French Suite; it is really lovely. I need funkier tunes, frankly.
Oh, boo, Jo Fish.
You are so right.
wonder how this would sound on pipe organ
dang – just found out my cousin’s BF got killed by a hit & run driver near Las Vegas. Never met the fellow, but he sounded like a good egg.
—
Alas, the Phillies linger. No mojo tonight. Go Giants!
LOL!
I’m turning French.
Time for me to sleep.
Good night all.
Suz – getting up towards 100, figure you need a heads up.
oh pun — i’m so sorry about your cousin’s bf. dayam.
they had better forking win sat!
thanks and g’nite wmd
So sorry, punaise.
The Scientologists try to keep me busy at night…
what a way to go, huh?
I’ve done battle with NYPIRG. Small world. He could have won if the Internet had been around. It’s the great equalizer.
Wow, that’s bad news – so sorry for you.
There’s always games 6 & 7 in Philly, Suzzz — world series, ho!
hi loohoo! are you going to netroots next summer? It’s in minneapolis! *happy dance*
just passing through tonight. it’s starting to be what passes for fall here. 50′s at night and 80′s in the daytime. i quite like it. i been laying around for a while. hurt my back, but i did try to get up and dance to your pipe organ suggestion, suz, so i must definitely be improving. i’m thrilled to say.
That is truly sorry…! 8-(
There’s no excuse for that whatsoever…! *gah*
He would’ve shown Howard Dean how to really do it then…! ;-)
happy 100 ndfg!!!
sad for cuz.
What these jerks don’t know will kill us.
hey gw — always a pleasure to see your fonts :) hope your back continues to heal and you are dancing more
hey dearie — fucking pisses me off when they say that shit… they don’t have a clue
i couldn’t have done it if i tried … blind luck is the only way for me *g*
i can only hit it when i try not to *laughing*
One piece I am going to audition with- the Widor Toccata
Don’t listen to the hype about Dean’s people though. It’s like any community, when you move into it there is a culture that existed already. Tapping into that culture is what works.
Nader, while annoying to me, would have had a great intro to the culture with the anti-corp anti-party message he had.
We should really look to the French…! They’ve taken to the streets in the millions for the raising of the age of retirement from 60 to 62…!
wow
Hey you! I’ll go if you are going.
*Happy 100*
I was just thinking the same. And the Turks.
What happened to us?
How ’bout the dingle berries teabaggin’ it in Texass!
gw, I was just thinking about you today and wondering how you were. Good to see you, heal fast!
I’m ready. I’m also into setting up camp sites on some of the dozens of extra homes of the rich. What they don’t seem to understand is that their children will forever be at risk if they don’t begin to understand the damage they are doing. I’m sure Chimpy’s ‘ranch’ is available for folks to nest on. I’m sure he quit cutting brush just as quick as he could!
hey maheanuu — how’s french polynesia toight?
Cool! It’s putting me to sleep…
CTuttle, that’s just one of the reasons I became a French National…. They got people that rip up the flag stones and chuck them at the gendarmes/police and government peeps who screw with the rights of the commons
Take care, greenwarrior.
The Rich are much, much more mobile than we. They can jet to hideaways anywhere in the world.
The camp cities in California and other really badly hit states are the new Hoovervilles.
Suz,yer killin me.
You KNOW I love Dolores O’Riordan and Cranberries!
*G*
Great catch . . . I’d add a hundred more, but it’s all there on UTube for Pups to follow.

Why do you think Tea Partiers from Texas are crazy (Full Disclosure: Have never been to any of their events)?
*heh* Having met him a few times, he is a rather abrasive chap…! Dennis Kucinich too…! But, what a message…! ;-)
You do mean the Greeks, not, the Turks…?
hey larue — how’s sac tonight?
Not the desired effect… hmm
Talofa, maheanuu…! ;-)
If we can find a puppy thrower in Bosnia off of a short YouTube video, what makes you think the rich feel secure in their planes these days?
Yes. I meant the Greeks.
Reminds me of an Elvis Presley movie.
hi girl,
i’m in the slow back movement these days. good to see you too.
It’s me getting sleepy. Nighters, pups, and thanks again Sooz.
g’nite loohoo
gnite loohoo. i’m ready fer sleep meself. gnite all.
Who exactly cares what the rich feel?
‘Nite all. Keep your camping gear in order and your tank gassed up. I can’t, honestly, believe that we haven’t had someone call for a march on Washington. We are sadly lacking in leaders; that’s for sure.
Nite LooHoo
well, since i live in minneapolis (well, near suburb) it’d be real easy for me to go.
g’nite dearie
oh yay! that’s gonna be so much fun ndfg — you will know all the ‘must see’ and ‘must eat at’ places for the pups who attend
What’s truly sad about their plight is that it’s being imposed from the outside, the IMF and EU, and not from the Greek govt…! 8-(
What I see happening in the United States is the multiplying of isolated violence against representatives of the wealthy and political elite. They’ll be a growing underground of groups commiting surgical attacks upon well-defined symbols of greed as more and more are driven out of their homes and become acquainted with folks they never ever thought they would be breaking bread with.
Think of it as a form of oppo research. Or just remember every Rocky movie. Get them to act out of emotion so they make mistakes.
There’s no need for actual violence. That’s the cowards way out.
would love to see the pics when ya have them maheanuu
Some of that is locals fault. I was told by the locals in Acapulco one year that the flea market sellers would consider it an insult if you didn’t haggle aggressively. Which was weird because the prices were so cheap anyway I didn’t see a reason to get that extra 5 cents saved.

Eve of Destruction
thanks dood :) i really liked it… caught in mid-strut

comments advocating violence will result in that comment being moderated
I am not advocating. I am predicting.
Didn’t look but if that wasn’t Kenny N First Edition I don’t know music.

it has been my experience that when violence is discussed in the comments, it quickly slides down the slippery slope from prediction to advocacy or violent imagery or fantasy violence.
ohmystars… gorgeous color
Yep. From the old Smothers Brothers Show, of which I have every one. Rodgers actually sang with the New Christie Minstrels before the Fitst Edition.
Hey Folks!
I have to stop reading the news, everything is just too damn depressing. I was trying to articulate the things that triggers this depression to Mrs. S and it all seems so silly.

Oh that’s beautiful. The color is unique.
oh spocko ((( ))) i’ve had to step away before… i’m so sorry dood
I used to be into that fantasy part. Then I got old.
My only fantasy these days is…um…I don’t remember….
hahahahaha
Ctuttle, I spent some time on Moorea the last time I went to Tahiti for Cancer Control. I have a buddy that used to be my boss and before that he was my friend (still is).

Sleep well Suzanne and see you on the morrow
Do we have any Nikon SLR Users in here?
Kewl and lookin for light rain . . . yer NOAA linkn suggests we ALL might be gettin rain.
Or, it will all go North to you.

They have our cake, we HAVE to care!
They aren’t going to be satisfied until they have it all.
Him n Barry Mac . . . I know of Barry, not of Kenny. Really?
I got one. D40. Hate it because I forgot how to switch the thingie on the front.
A great song, one I used for a Junior Year hi school history group project on Vietnam, the country.
This was 1970.
We played it for the close, over This Album Cover We Took A Pic Of For A Still Slide.
We aced the project and the class . . . I had slides we used . . . from Vietnam and SE Asia, where I grew up.
NO one, in that class, had ever seen any thing from SE Asia, much less slides from villages in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and Thailand.

~~~Could not repair link. Sorry.~~~
Jeff, I have a d70 and a d200 and I am trying to set up the EV for HDR photog work…
Here in Tahiti, in HDR I am sure I can sell the world if I can get it mastered
Sun Tzu did say; with patience by a stream, you will see your enemy’s head float by… Or something to that effect…! ;-)
Dayammm I spent 5 years in SE Asia and a total of 17 and a half in Asia proper
Kenny, had NO idea he was with Minstrels . . . really?
Do you think your school would have let you present that report today?
After the revolutions of the 60/early 70s, education is geared to making compliment adult low wage worker bees.
If ya wait patiently and long enuff by the river, you’ll see the bodies of yer enemies float by.
I had a VP boss in Radio who was a two tour Gyrene in Nam for a boss for 5 years.
He loved Sun Tsu . . . quoted him often.
Wikipedia: “In 1966 he joined The New Christy Minstrels as a singer and double bass player.”
Your question is somewhat misleading.
I went to a liberal high school in a liberal town and in liberal times.
I don’t even know if that school still exists.
You won’t bait me into where yer heading.
And I kinda resent your intent to do so.
Huh, go figger . . . . a dawghouse man . . . .
Could be worse, Larue — You didn’t go to grade school with The Earth is Flat Friedman.
It’s kind of sad but my brain is now stored on the Internet…
Does this help? http://www.flickr.com/groups/d70/discuss/72157594451231349/
I’ve had mine 2 years and all I’ve taken a pic of is a snowy tree. I suck.
I really don’t know what you’re talking about. I was not trying to bait you. Bait with what?
Shh, don’t say it too loud or the place will be plastered with anime of cats wearing dikmittens (inside joke).
Just dropping in to say that this is Dolores O’Riordan at her awesome best. Fantastic song by a talented singer.
Good morning all.
Where is Attaturk?
Good morning. Seems he overslept.
I guess it’s allowed from time to time.
Anyone know what time Obama’s CA rally is? I’m hoping it will be televised.
You & I seems the only ones here, and I have no idea about the CA rally. I’ll be pretty much taken up with domestic chores today, so won’t be watching even if it is televised.
Attaturk’s up.
hey steve — i’m glad ya liked it — always good to see your fonts, dood
