Yeah, it’s safe to say that Teabagger Ginni Thomas isn’t very bright. Her husband has enough sense to generally keep his mouth shut, but since Ginni insists on re-litigating Clarence’s sexual harassment of Anita Hill, let’s take a look at some of the evidence that has since emerged since he was confirmed.
Remember the bizarre Coke can/pubic hair stuff? Hill wasn’t the first one who heard it from Clarence.
…some of the behavior Hill complained about resonated with episodes from Thomas’s past. Hill described an episode in which Thomas, drinking a soda, asked, “Who has put pubic hair on my Coke?” James Millet, a college classmate of Thomas’s, recalled “an almost identical episode” at Holy Cross. “Pubic hair was one of the things he talked about,” another classmate said. Jane Mayer and Jill Abramson, in “Strange Justice,” found two others who recalled a pubic hair-Coke can comment at the EEOC.
And Hill wasn’t the first woman he harassed.
Former EEOC employee Angela Wright described how Thomas pressured her to date him, showed up uninvited at her apartment and asked her breast size. “Clarence Thomas would say to me, ‘You know you need to be dating me. . . . You’re one of the finest women I have on my staff,” Wright told Senate investigators.
Wright’s account was corroborated by Rose Jourdain, a former speechwriter who, like Wright, was dismissed by Thomas. Jourdain said Wright had complained that she was “increasingly nervous about being in his presence alone” because of comments “concerning her figure, her body, her breasts, her legs.”
As for Hill’s allegation that Clarence loved him some porn, that too is backed up by other eye witnesses.
As a young federal bureaucrat in Washington, Thomas rented adult videos from Graffiti, a store of Dupont Circle. It was there that Fred Cooke, the former D.C. corporation counsel, saw him at the checkout line during the late 1980s with a copy of The Adventures of Bad Mama Jama, a triple-X-rated flick featuring the sexual exploits of a hugely overweight black woman with abnormally large breasts. Cooke was both struck and amused that the chairman of the EEOC was a consumer of such smut.
Clarence, of course, denied all this stuff during his confirmation hearings and now he sits on the SCOTUS. Lying to Congress is a crime or something, isn’t it?
Maybe Ginni should give all of this evidence “some thought” and pray over it — and help us understand why she’s stalking Clarence’s victims.

Nah. IOKIYAR
I seem to remember that Ted Kennedy had more witnesses or evidence lined up, but decided not to present them/it for some reason.
The lady doth project too much.
I wonder what’s weighing so heavily on Virginia Thomas’s mind. Seems like she’s having a difficult time acknowledging that there are some things she needs to apologize for.
The word moron comes to mind.
07:31 is a little early to play “drink and dial,” doncha think? On the other hand, IOKIYAR and IOKIYATB.
Drink up, Shriners!
Uncle Tomcat? NO, Uncle ReamUS ALL!
When will Bush Sr. and the ’91 Senate apologize for putting this unqualified guy on the Supreme Court?
we all know damn good and well why she is stalking Professor Hill – it’s a solid gold rainmaker
Wingnut Welfare – all those billions floating about in the mid terms.
as stated earlier, ‘Ginny’ has all the finesse of a barker at a titty bar
these people would publicly piss on their own mother’s corpse if they thought it would bring them one extra scheckel
Throw in one of them fancy car phones, and we’re set… heh…
Love the dude with the beard and shades. Muslim terrist infiltrator.
Some people love the spotlight. If Clarence Thomas’ wife wants publicity, she should either A) Leave her husban for a younger man with bling and gold in his mouth, or B) Get herself arrested for having a cocaine binge with Lindsay Lohan. Either way, publicly rehashing this mess from 20 years ago is so incredibly stupid that it totally defies all logic.
As for Thomas himself, he, along with Scalia are the two worst individuals in any history (human or otherwise) to sit on a Supreme Court anywhere………….
This behavior from a SCOTUS wife is at the very least unseemly. And she speaks politically – is that legal since it would show a bias re her husband?
Now CBL, she is actually the victim in all this. MoJo said so this morning.
Are you shittin’ me?
If she honestly feels that her husband was wronged, then she has the right to ask for an apology from the offending party. Where I think this goes off the rails is two-fold. 1. This happend 20 years ago and you are now just getting around to wanting an apology and 2. Considering the personal nature and age of the issue, why bring this out in the public square?
Maybe deep down Virginia Thomas thinks it’s wrong for the spouse of a Supreme Court Justice to engage in narrowly ideological and highly political activism and is feeling guilty. It might not be technically illegal, but it sure doesn’t look very good (just like what her husband did in the 80s).
wasn’t there a conservative author at the time who led the charge in trying to discredit Ms Hill who has since come out to apologize to Ms Hill and fess up that the material he used to discredit her was all a bunch of lies?
Pouty Baby just called and asked the Thomases to stop giving him a bad name.
“transcript” “recording”
hmmmm, sounds like a “high tech” stalking
What do you think about this?
Look at this in the call transcript: “…what you did with my husband.”
Not “to”, but “with”.
To me, this sounds like Clarence told Ginny that Evil Anita Hill had come onto him and he’d rebuffed her, hence Evil Anita’s accusations against him. However, Ginny may well suspect that Clarence really did do the nasty with Anita, and wants Anita to tell her about it. Except that Anita didn’t do anything but try to stay out of arm’s reach of Mister Grabass, as several of Ms. Hill’s co-workers testified:
I’d advocate impeachment of Thomas, one of the worst, if not THE worst ever Supreme Court justice.
But that would entail looking backward, not forward, therefore is an invalid suggestion.
No. It was his worst out of touch rant ever. Right around 10 past 5:00 CDT.
that would be David Brock eventual founder of Media Matters for America
Thomas has got to stop talking in his sleep since it sets Ginny off like this.
Um, hard left agenda? I thought O and his team made it clear that the Professional left has no voice in his policy making?
Perhaps Virginia Thomas should practice the Christian virtue of stewardship and save some money.
I’m 58 years old and he’s by far the worst justice in my living memory. Every member of my graduating class from law school would have been a better choice than that ninth-rate hack.
The Why is simple. Connect the dots. I suggest you start with the NYTimes article from Sunday [as was cited just now on MSNBC to Mrs. Greenspan by the co-author [ADD: Jill Abramson] with Jane Mayer on the investigative book about the Hill=Thomas controversy]. The article looks into Miz “olive branch”‘s ties to the tea party/secret funders cotillion.
Unseemly is just the first of the descriptors of Virginia Thomas…but then it has been for some time.
Whenever a shiny object pops up, always look around for what’s in the shadows.
Where are the lawayers? Does this present grounds for impeachment?
see my 9 above
probably owe barkers an apology
Why doesn’t he just go back to fibbing about Lori Klausuitis’ medical history?
Nice catch.
Worth investigating.
Funny, how nice the Citizens United case is growing his wife’s interest.
The key words are
What is actually done with the money, if anything, is somewhat irrelevant.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha… everytime I think of MoJo, I think about Mika’s Dad taking him down, and then all desire to watch MSNBC in the morning is quelled.
Yup. He had a hard-core attack of conscience, coupled no doubt with the fact that as a gay man who wanted out of the closet, he would never be allowed to advance very far in the ranks of conservative journalists.
Read Blinded by the Right sometime. He talks about receiving a $2 million advance for his book on Hillary with the unstated assumption that it was going to be a hit job. And how, on his first writing gig after being expelled from the nice cushy mink-lined sheltered workshop that is the conservative media, he found himself having a panic attack because his work was actually being fact-checked, something that never was done in his many years writing hit pieces for the Cons.
Apologize, hell. When will he resign?
Judging from this odd story re Thomas calling Hill, I think Thomas is worried that it does.
It takes a special brand of crazy to think that a victim of harassment should apologize. It also took a special brand of crazy to think that truthful testimony was a “high tech lynching.” They were made for each other.
I’m betting Mrs Thomas is a little tired of clarence the clown leaving pubic hair on her coke cans all over the house and blaming Anita . Yuk, yuk, yuk
I agree.
Still, nice catch @30.
Gets another black face in the media to get the angry white guys all riled up so that they are sure to go out and vote. They probably don’t even know that Thomas was appointed by a Republican.
Oh yeah, and it proves that the tea partiers are not racist.
Ginny Thomas is a fool married to one. She will cross a line someday that will get her in a world of hurt. If Clarenace had any credibility at all(Not that I think he had any to begin with) she has thrown it out into the gutter.
Ginni Thomas sounds like she inhabits an alternate reality.
If the Democrats had any courage, they’d give her husband the Abe Fortas treatment. But they don’t and they won’t.
Gynnie took seriously that laughable-but-not-the-worst-thing-Fred-Hiatt-ever-published Op-Ed last summer urging Clarence to resign SCOTUS and run for Prez. She just thinks Anita needs to come clean about her ‘lies’ about Clarence to clear the deck for his campaign.
Delusional, yes. Entertaining, yes. Fact-based, hardly.
Great compendium, BT. Thanks, as always. Your contributions to FDL are really valuable.
Gee, maybe she’s suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.
Tbogg blames Gynnie’s fifth breakfastini
If Thomas got elected, would Scalia have time to tell him what to do every day?
It was obvious to me at the time of the allegation that Thomas lifted the pubic hair line from the first chapter (I think) of William Peter Blatty’s “The Exorcist.” It has been nearly 40 years since I read it but as I recall Chris MacNeil’s agent comments at a party, “There is an unfamiliar pubic hair floating in my drink.”
I was surprised that no one in the media (to my knowledge) realized the connection. Granted, it was a pretty lousy book but it was widely read.
So, for whatever it’s worth, not only does Thomas suck at writing judicial opinions, he can’t even compose original sophomoric humor.
The big Portland Adult Alternative FM morning guy ate Ginni Thomas up this morning
“That was a drunk dial wasn’t it?”
Then slurrs out the Ginni Thomas quotes like she was drinking all night.
KINK-FM is running a cut of it as a morning show promo all day.
If I had been dumb enough to marry Thomas, I would need several “tinis” to get through the day.
Speaking of: did anyone hear Harry Reid say in his recent debate with Sharron Angle that Nino was his favorite SCOTUS? I heard it mentioned once on MSNBC and then it went into the memory hole.
Is there any ..eh, ring that Harry won’t kiss?
Interesting. Timing’s right — book came out in ’71.
Yawn.
Mrs. Thomas is out of touch. It is another measure of the teabaggers and their ilk. She is simply put a stupid person with poor judgement and a corrupt and lying husband with mental illness.
Could it be possible that Gynnie sees Clarence’s further service on SCOTUS as an impediment to her further Tea Party ambition? Could things not be as placid in the Thomas household as we have been led to believe? Is Nino getting ready to retire (or die) and Clarence fears being exposed on SCOTUS as a know-nothing?
Does Clarence need a way off SCOTUS? Is Gynni happy to oblige?
Reply to Blue Texan @55
Apparently I wasn’t the only person to catch the reference, from a WaPo interview with Blatty.
Yes. His name is David Brock. He admits to lying in the book he wrote about Anita Hill. He admits he knew about Thomas’ pornography rentals from “graffitti” and he admits other women backed up Anita Hill’s claim because they, too, had been harassed by him.
Just wake up after a long night of playin’ Wanker World?
He probably woke up next to an empty Cheetos bag and suffering from a severe case of OPS (orange peter syndrome).
Bmaz has a fresh cross-post up: Obama DOJ Moves 9th Circuit To Stay DADT Ban
You could put Small in from of that – SOPS
What a vile little creep; what a worthless excuse for a human being.
lol!
How about ‘miniature” to make MOPS?
I tried to think of another “o” word to spell OOPS but had no success.
Funny how Ginni’s getting out front of this, huh?

Ww know the answer to the question.
“When Will Clarence Thomas Apologize for Being a Liar and a Creepy Asshole?”
Along with Donald Rumsfeld and Condoleezza Rice, Clarence Thomas is corporate royalty brought to the US government from the world of Monsanto.
He will never apologize, even if he is caught having sex with a goat on prime time television.
There are tools, such as judicial recall and constitutional ammendendment, that we have been loathe to use in recent years. I tried to remind people how elegantly the ammendment process worked when John Kennedy invoked it to get rid of the Poll Tax.
Judicial recall may seem to be an extreme and inaccessible remedy, but things have gotten so far out of hand that we must sieze the opportunity before the extreme right begins to use to to purge our justice system of what little sanity remains.
I’m glad to be back, I’m picking up where I left off -:)
I’m sure Thurgood Marshall turns over a little more in his grave with each and every decision Thomas makes.
I would say: is there no depth to which these scum will sink? But that question, clearly, is rhetorical.
Ginni Thomas obviously is in it for the money just like her likely mentor, the Grifter Snowbilly Queen, is solely and only in it for the money.
T-baggerz clap, whistle, cheer & wave the pom-poms because it’s perceived as a big WIN for their Team. The loutish, nonsensical, divorced-from-any-known reality & loathsome hypocrisy of the ‘Baggerz continues apace.
I can only keep repeating to myself: someday, somewhere, somehow, these crapulous creeps will surely reap the whirlwind that they are sowing in their lives.
Finally, I’ve worked in the legal system for many years; know many judges; beyond a shadow of a doubt, Thomas is the most useless know-nothing HACK of a Judge that I’ve ever witnessed. Waste. of. time. and. money. Talk about conservative welfare.
Scalia makes the decisions and Clarence says “ditto.”
The surprising thing is that Thomas actually knows how to say “ditto.”
Aww, like Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze in “Ghost.” I always knew Scalia/Thomas were a pair of star-crossed lovers.
I’m not sure I follow. Are you saying we have to pass a constitutional amendment to get him out of office?
“Obscure” comes to mind, but I’m trying to think of others. OOPS!
The Chairman of the EEOC? Talk about a paradox!
Yep, if he says anything at all. Most cases he seems to sit in total silence.
How about “odoriferous” (or the contraction, “odiferous”) or “objectionable?”
Good reference source here.
That is some danged disturbing imagery. :)
Silent maybe but not inactive. I envision Thomas following this judicial precedent.
Here’s a few possible scenarios:
Every argument/fight they have ends up with Ginnie throwing (rightfully so) this in Clary’s face. They probably drink and drink and fight and fight and, on this particular occasion, they never go to bed or at least Ginnie never goes to bed and somehow and at some point in time finds Hill’s number. Because she has suspected that Hill was telling the truth all along which was tormenting her….she calls Hill hoping Hill will say “Oh yes Ginnie, I’m so sorry for lying about your dear husband’s conduct”…and then Ginnie can scream at her and tell her how her life has been ruined by this.
Or…someone gave her Hill’s number and told her to call her to stir things up for some current reason.
Or…if there was a settlement agreement back then, someone either doesn’t know about it or is breaching it. Not Hill, because she called the FBI.
How and why she got the phone number to call is the question.
No. Those are 2 separate tools we should use to change the system, because nothing else has worked lately. There has already been an effort to recall Scalia. Mention of the amendment process relates to my other issues – which are with the legislature. I will post at length about it soon, but not in this thread.
Can someone tell me if the Congress has the powers to remove Thomas from the Supreme Court, anyone?
Yes, the impeachment process applies to judicial as well as executive branch officials.
Ha! Proof of Thomas’ allegiance with evil.
This reeks of the ordinary crappy marriage to me. Sounds like Ginny is trying to convince herself–still, after all these years–that Anita lied. Down deep, Ginny knows the truth.
I’m thinking of sending Ginny a few Coke cans to mix with her Rum! Anyone else one to contribute? We could glue some pubic hairs to the tops for added falvoring.
That’s just downright mean. Me, I’d send her a good bottle of nip. As twain noted, the woman is married to Thomas.

Oh I get it Ginny is dyslexic and was actually calling to appologise to Anita but screwed it up.
She Ginny, called the university where Hill teaches. I am sure any one could call the school and ask to leave a message for Professor Hill. That is where the call came to her and that is why she called the campus police who refered it to the FBI. Hill at first thought it was a prank call presuming that Ginny would not actually be so low as to actually call Anita with such a ridiculous request.
Agree but the fact is, he was renting those videos when they were married way back then. She knew then.
Maybe now in the Republican arena some hard ball is being played and she wants some protection from the blackmail thrown around.
What I can’t understand is how strong the loyalty is to these various Republican unindicted sexual felons, financial criminals and just plain ignoramuses. You can’t tell me that Thomas suddenly became a sexually healthy boss when he got the office in the Supreme Court building. Or that his video interests changed. People know.
Ginny:
“I would love you to consider an apology sometime and some full explanation of why you did what you did with my husband. So give it some thought and certainly pray about this and come to understand why you did what you did.”
Now, why would she say “with”?
Because Ginni’s an @$$?
Because Ginni’s in denial about reality?
Because Ginni’s after money from corporations (aka the Koch Family Industries) paying off T-baggerz for doing heinous junk like this?
Because Ginni’s a jerk?
Because Ginni’s married to creepy nasty Thomas, and it’s driven Ginni over the brink and into true insanity?
No. Because she thinks Hill was doing something with her husband. I should have left a snark tag.
Thomas does not make decisions. He just repeats what Scalia tell him to say.
Speaking about liars and ass holes..Huffington Post has gone over to Rove..I can’t believe it either..Articles are showing up that demand attention from HP’s owner..
I think that’s pretty damn funny!
Yes it is if under oath, and it is an impeachable offense as well.
I’m 66 years old and your assertion is still good!
Thomas the sexual harasser, Scalia the gay-hater, and Alito the homophobe – that has to be the worst Supreme Court ever.
Scalia and Thomas have attended Koch sponsored events for millionaires where they plan their attack on public policy that annoys those millionaires – Glen Beck was a speaker at a recent meeting after which he proudly quoted a handout from the meeting on his show. The Koch’s are organizing the Congress and their political party – the GOP – now called the Tea Party, plus setting their approach in the courts via Scalia and Thomas, so as to get their lower taxes and fewer regulations world. We should not call it a conspiracy when it is out in the open.
Indeed how can one impeach Scali and Thomas for Koch meeting conduct unbecoming when the GOP will filibuster any such attempt.
The only way to impeach is to get them to lie about a BJ – but I doubt that works when the liar is a Republican.
am I the only person who thinks there’s a connection between the kinky afro-american hair and the ‘pubic hair’ remark of Clarence’s? In which case, I can see the future Justice pulling this prank repeatedly, on several women.
Anita Hill’s office number is probably listed on the university’s faculty pages. Or perhaps Ginny has an intern who attends that school. More curious is the timing – 7:30 on Saturday morning.
Ginny obviously wanted to give Ms. Hill a public flogging – perhaps that is yet to come in a future speaking engagement – but she took extreme care to avoid actually reaching Anita Hill on the phone. Afraid, no doubt, that Ms. Hill would give her a tongue-lashing and a full recount of all of Clarence’s transgressions, in such full and complete detail that no one could doubt the truth of the accusations.
Which would be the appropriate response to Ginny’s attempts to ‘play’ Anita Hill one more time. If the R’s don’t get their House majority, and the committee chairs that are the real prizes, perhaps some enterprising D-with-cojones could look into the veracity of Justice Thomas’ statements, especially in light of the receipts for porn rentals.
Don’t the new financial laws allow inspection of credit card records? I doubt that Justice Thomas was smart enough to rent all those pornos with cash.
Did Teddy Kennedy have evidence that Clarence Thomas had drowned a young lady someplace?
