Fresh off his grotesque performance last week in which he snarled incoherently about his opponent’s “sexual prowess,” Paladino managed to offend yet another segment of the voting populace of New York State while “giving a speech” before the Hasidic Jewish community in Brooklyn last night:
The Tea Party backed candidate drew fire last night following remarks before Orthodox Jewish leaders because he told them he does not want his children “to be brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option- it isn’t.”
If that degree of stupendous bigotry weren’t enough to make you want to stab yourself in the eye with a stick of beef jerky, what was in his speech–but apparently crossed out at the last minute–should do the trick:
According to Newsday’s Reid Epstein, the line, “There is nothing to be proud of in being a dysfunctional homosexual. That is not how G-d created us” was in Paladino’s prepared text but left out of his actual speech.
Dysfunctional?! Gays are dysfunctional? This coming from a reptilian psychopath who fucked around on his emotionally abused wife (and I have no doubt it got physical), fathered an illegimate child, and remains completely unrepentant about the fact? Someone needs to remind the sneering, hypocritical douchemook that homosexuality isn’t listed in the Ten Commandments, but adultery is pretty high up on God’s list of things he/she/it strongly disapproves of.
It was only a matter of minutes before Paladino had to explain away his latest outrageously offensive comments. He took to the broadcast airwaves this morning, where he tried to spin himself out of the hole he’d dug.
I have ‘difficulty’ deciding if homosexuality is a choice.
…
The GOP candidate told “GMA” that he saw a gay pride parade in Toronto and said it “wasn’t pretty.”
“It was a bunch of very extreme type people, wearing bikini type outfits, grinding at each other and doing these gyrations and I certainly wouldn’t let my young children see that,” he said.
Paladino thinks men “grinding at each other” is disgusting, but has no problem distributing videos of a woman “doing a horse”. Homosexuals can’t get married, but sleeping around on your wife is hunky dory. Consistency, as you can now see, is not Paladino’s strong suit.
There’s more. It seems (at least to me) that his “it wasn’t my fault” defense is as pock-marked as Paladino’s emotional complexion. From Politico:
Paladino told me he dictated general remarks to an aide who put that sentence in there – but he said it is not what he believes.
O RLY? According to the New York Post:
A prepared text of yesterday’s speech distributed by leaders of the congregation before it was delivered was far more incendiary, declaring that God disapproves of homosexuality and gays should be ashamed of themselves.
But Paladino did not read those lines, saying they were inserted by members of the congregation without his approval.
It must be so difficult keeping ahead of all the lies. So who was responsible for the insult? One of Paladino’s aides or Yehuda Levin? This shitwhistle couldn’t keep his stories straight if his love child’s life depended on it.
And then there’s the matter of Paladino’s business dealings. For all his blustering tough talk about bootstraps and damning those who “suck at the government tit,” Paladino made his fortune doing just that:
Democratic opponents charge his companies’ web of leases with government agencies, tax credits and political contributions to both parties over the years contradicts a platform that pledges to reduce state spending and taxes.
…
And critics of the Empire Zone program, which provided Paladino’s firms with millions of dollars in tax breaks in exchange for little job growth, point to the ineffectiveness of the now-expired economic development program.
State records obtained by Gannett’s Albany Bureau through a Freedom of Information request show Paladino received $3.4 million in Empire Zone tax benefits over the last decade, but created only 29 jobs, or $118,305 in tax breaks for each job created.
…
One of Paladino’s companies, J-P Group LLC, was decertified from the program in 2009 by the state after it received $883,807 in tax credits and failed to create a single job, records show.
The only job that Paladino seems to have created is at his accountant’s firm. He is seriously deluded if he thinks he considers himself an outsider in the the seedy, Byzantine world of Albany politics. Given his personal and professional track record, he’s utterly indistinguishable from the other self-enriching scumbags like Pedro Espada or Hiram Monserrate, who litter the Capitol building.
Paladino, governor material? He’s just another grifter, like Palin and O’Donnell. I think he’s more likely to wind up in the cast of “Jackass” than in the governor’s mansion in Albany.

I’m not sure who would win the crown.
Seems to me ALL of the teabagger candidates are completely insane.
If we put them all on an island, a la “Lord of the Flies”, which one would be the last one standing?
Love the tag “Hypocritical Assholes.” That one could be added to any and all posts about Republicans and/or teabagger candidates.
The country is having a nervous breakdown. And it’s the only country I have. Sad. Very sad.
“Shitwhistle” is classic WT. Great laughs.
Don’t know. I would expect the island to just say “Fuck this” and sink down into the ocean.
Watertiger!
Ya’ll getting jealous up there in New York and afraid that your politicians just aren’t crazy enough to compete with the rest of the country? I could have told you it wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
ooh! look over there, Teabaggers! Scary!
still no reason to vote (D) anymore, that is a fail.
It is like Bush using Saddam Hussein’s name all the time, trying to scare Americans into accepting whatever it was he was up to.
Hollow, played out fearmongering.
HA! We’re pikers when it comes to whacked out pols.
I gotta admit when my Governor (VA) got elected in ’09, I thought he was completely batshitcrazy. Huh, he looks like a moderate compared to some of them I’ve read about here.
I know the feeling. The Goopers are digging deep to come up with these specimens.
Once we got them all onto the island, who the fuck could we get to go back and find out?
I think you would have to place it under permanent quarantine to ensure that the contagion did not spread.
Flyover, baybay. Flyover.
‘Tis the season of the loons. It will be interesting to see what people write about this election in about 5 years.
One of my linguistics grad school cohort, a woman in her fifties, has a son who is gay and lives in Brooklyn. She’ll be visiting for Thanksgiving and says she has a serious half a mind to stop by the old synagogue and give them a piece of her mind. I think it’s a waste of effort, but it’s nice to know that some parents still protect their kids in this world.
Amen.
Similarly, Jesus had a great deal to say about accumulating wealth while ignoring the poor and needy, but not one thing to say about homosexuality.
As noted by CNN, Paladino’s campaign manage said this on the day after the speech:
The Catechism of the Catholic Church calls homosexual activity a “grave depravity” and those who engage in them “intrinsically disordered,” based on an inclination that is “objectively disordered.” (see #2357-59)
Sadly, it sounds very much like Paladino is right in line with the official language of the Roman Catholic Church.
dumbest…i vote for Angle….craziest,i vote for Witchypoo…..dumbest crazy i vote for…Rand Pile
It wouldn’t surprise me if the current crop of GOP candidates leads directly to a revision of DSM-IV.
Yeah, but (unfortunately) we have Cuccinelli to round out the batshit crazy.
(hey neighbor!)
And these people are seriously worried about freaking Shari’a law being imposed on this country?
The whole party has earned their own entry.
Go figure.
And how does the Roman Catholic church feel about bastardy?
Probably worried about competition.
tea partiers think sharia is a new dance on teebee
ask a Tbagger, what …a day that shall live in infamy means?i wager 90 % have no idea
He went on all of the morning shows to insist that he’s not a homophobe. No word on how he squares that statement with his belief that LGBT Americans don’t deserve the same civil rights as other Americans and I haven’t heard that any of his interviewers pressed him on that.
“I’m not afraid of gays…I just hate them, is all!”
im sleepy…gnite pups
He is a Republican, he does not have to be consistent of honest. It is like a “Get Out of Jail Free” card.
Tbuggery.
Night!
Paladino reminds me of a local batshit-crazy and rabidly anti-gay pol, Eugene Delgaudio
Sounds like Paladino has his fair share of those.
I found this quote fascinating:
But he doesn’t deny being anti-female.
Well, isn’t everyone anti-female? At least in New York?
I think it depends on who’s bastard you’re talking about. At least a couple of popes have had illegitimate children, most famously Rodrigo de Borja y Borja, also known as Pope Alexander VI.
From his entry at the well-regarded website Cardinals of the Catholic Church: “According to his first genealogy, linked above he had the following natural children: Pedro Luis (ca 1467-1488); Jirolama (ca 1469-1483); Cesare Borgia (ca April 1475-March 12, 1507); Juan I de Borja (1474-June 14, 1497); Lucrezia Borgia (April 18, 1481-June 24, 1519); Isabella (1471-1547); Jofre Borgia (1481/82-1517); Laura Orsini (1492-1505/1508); Giovanni Borgia (1498-1547); and Rodrigo Borgia (1503-1527).”
Neither did the horse.
He disowned Victor?
Note, too, that he became a priest in 1471 and pope in 1492.
I think Victor disowned him.
So the higher up you are in social rank, the less important it is? So noted. ;-)
IOKIYACatholic
It’s just insane that people like Paladino, Angle, Miller, Paul, O’Donnell, Iott and others can make serious runs for high office in this country and the press treats their candidacies like it’s a totally normal kind of thing. “Liberal” media my ass.
Take two Hail Marys, one Our Father, and sin no more.
More piles of work on my desk at the office, so I need to sign off and get some sleep.
peace out, yo.
Racism certainly is but even the Catholics used to frown on bestiality.
Rodrigo was never one for fine print.
Night watertiger
Does anyone think that a Christopher St. gay parade is a good way expose kids to what it means to be gay? – not picking fights, just asking.
Yep.
May the Farce be with you.
Night.
Okay, 10 Hail Marys, 5 Our Fathers, a Novena, and sin no more! :)
Well I think I’ve done enough damage and annoyed enough people for one night myself. Goodnight FDL.
I said “used to”. Who knows what it’s like in this brave, new world of people threatening armed insurrection if they don’t get their way at the voting booth with impunity?
Night! Think I will toddle off as well. Young minds do not corrupt themselves. Take care all.
Well they seem cool with pedophile priests, so I doubt a little bestiality would get them too worked up.
To use a racial metaphor, he’s not a racist because blacks really are inferior, and so of course they should ride in the back of the bus and not use white folks’ water fountains, but he would never participate in a lynching. He even hires them now and then to do menial labor. See? Totally not racist at all.
How fitting that Cesare Borgia is ‘The Prince’ that Machiavelli wrote about, hmmm…? Real Bastards if ya ask me…! ;-)
Damm he beats Satan girl in crazy and morals he beats the GOPers with immigrant nannies in doing something dumb his base will hate.
Fundy voters can’t vote for a guy who cheats on his wife, fathers a child out of wedlock, never mind the horse.
Even the anti immigrant crowd will find it easier to vote for GOPers who hire immigrants.
Second that. :)
(((Watertiger)))
How does Paladino (His Royal Heinous) classify his 10 year old daughter? Is Paladino a raging Catholic? I’ve been quite amazed at how the Hispanic Catholic community is completely open to unwedded birthing in my area. It’s a new world from the one I grew up in. That’s for sure.
Provided it is opposite sex beastiality, of course.
“Drop that dog wiener, mister!”
Is he Catholic this guy should be banned from church like Dems who support abortion. Has the Church ever followed up on that threat they keep making noise about that one.
Also some of his best friends are [fill in the blank].
Yeah, right, he’s not a bigot.
He just walks, quacks, and f*cks like one.
We should be happy the Tea Baggers are so open and not speaking in code if they were more like Reagan we would be losing a lot more seats.
When the GOP brags about winning seats this election we should point out how many more seats they could have won if they had some sane candidates who didn’t like horses so much, didn’t want to cut Social Security, didn’t hire Immigrants.
Nah, the Church is all nonsense. Crazy against abortion, but really quite okay with making a little girl bear a rapist’s child. Still nasty to women, but kinda really okay with pedophiles (I’m sure they didn’t really mean it.)
The Church is corrupt beyond measure. Thus, I’m sure Paladino is considered an honored member despite his adultry and bastard child, his enjoyment of bestiality, his racism. Drop a dime now and then and you’re in the club.
Sounds like a diary I wonder what the church’s position is on abusing your wife and horses? Is being Gay really worse than that?
I don’t think Paladino would think the horse was abused!
I think this election is not about Tea Bagger anger but anger over Obama doing nothing. In what world does fear of the rich getting their taxes raised trump jobs and people losing their homes? The racists use taxes, secret Muslim, Socialism to mask the fact they hate Obama cause he’s black.
If Government were to create good paying jobs, a real Healthcare bill that takes effect now etc, save our Homes would the Tea Baggers have anything to draw in non racists to their cause?
Sorry badly phrased I meant the woman but I really did not want to think about that to much.
Heya, folks. Howzit? Going?
Better than expected the GOP is running crazy and their brand name long term will suffer. The GOP in better times will carry this stain and be stuck with the image of being racist, sexist, homophobes, who back tax cuts for the rich as the unemployment rate goes over 10%.
We could win this election if Obama had a spine if we ran on creating jobs and saving homes.
I don’t think it’s that simple, TCU.
There is anger among the radical Republicans over the things Obama has done.
But equally, there is major disappointment among liberals over the things Obama and Company have left undone. In a sense, he’s in the worst of all possible worlds. He’s done far too much to keep the Grover Norquist wing of the Rethuglican party happy; but not nearly enough to excite us.
Sorry, but Not George Bush might have won the Nobel Peace Prize last year, but it ain’t enough for me now.
(crickets)
The Crazy Crowd would come up with something. Like I said, the country is having a nervous breakdown and it appears to be based on the fact that rich white folks are scared shitless about losing their power/control. And, yes, I’m an old white woman who is reasonably (not as much as prior to the collapse, of course) secure, but these folks (the Rightists/Religitards) are off the rails. They scare the crap outta me, for sure.
From your mouth to God’s ear, TCU.
Or maybe that’s your keyboard to God’s monitor…
Hey, RF. How’s Bob?
We need a reason to vote yes. But if we had a reason and given the candidates the GOP is running we could sweep this election.
I can accept the first form of protest, the book thrower is an idiot.
Man Streaks At Obama Rally In Philadelphia, Book Gets Thrown At President
Bob’s great, enjoying his last go at the food dish for today.
They would come up with something else but the crazy that scares the crap out of you also turns off Moderate Voters. Also because of the bad economy I think this will be a high turnout election. The GOP has been running on cutting Social Security and cutting unemployment benefits.
I think that could throw the election provided the Dems would run on that.
But yes the GOP would come up with something.
Thank You:)
The Secret Service surgically removes their agents’ sense of humor and incinerates it. You have to be truly stupid to pull a stunt like that. Malloy was calling for Beck to be indicted as a co-conspirator with that idjit in California who said Beck inspired him to go on a rampage.
And Beck seems to be trying to get on the Crazy Train.
The streaker, on the other hand … did I step through a time warp and land back in my college days?
Disclosure: As a resident of NC, I can’t vote against the jagoff.
The adultery of the Ten Commandments applied only to a married woman, you know, it made her husband the cuckolded victim of the crime, like, he would maybe be supporting someone else’s seed. It’s probably why King David sent Bathsheba’s husband, Uriah, to the front lines to be slaughtered, so he could boff her legitimately.
Hey Pups!
Hello to all.
Very good angle of attack link Beck and the rest to every right Wing Hate crime now can we get the justice dept or some trial lawyers representing the victims to make the case?
Clearly the streaker posed no visible threat. :)
The book thrower claimed he wrote the book and hoped the president would read it… Agents concluded he posed no danger. Stupid, regardless. If it had struck the president he’d undoubtedly receive a substantial sentence. It ain’t worth taking that risk.
Hey Christine. Did you catch Wallander? I enjoyed the second episode much more than the first.
Very interesting link? Has the Church ever in practice changed their view?
Oh my gosh, we LOVED Wallander! Could Ken look more miserable? It struck such a chord with us after being in Denmark and Norway last month.
Last night’s episode was shocking and so entertaining!
Malloy believes it’s only a matter of time until some ambitious (A)DA somewhere decides to tie Beckerhead to the stuff he’s trying to incite. I suspect he’s right: I just hope it’s not an attack on a particular national officer that results in the (A)DA getting ambitious.
Charging is in the purview of the DA in criminal cases. Civil suits, on the other hand — an attorney going after a civil claim could try to tie Beck and Fox and ClearChannel into the suit. It would be decent strategy, because it adds folks with deep pockets to the defense table.
The modern (ha!) Catholic Church considers men equally responsible for acts of adultery, although it’s pretty obvious that they still don’t accept that women are equal to men. Perhaps in another millennia or two they’ll finally come around.
You’ll have to wash your mouth out with soap for that one, RF. Modern is not an adjective that can ever be used in the same paragraph as the noun “Catholic Church.”
Very interesting subject we could get the Tea Baggers financiers with this too:) We could push this topic if we had more facts. This is getting way out of my area of expertise we need lawyers to way in.
Adultery
Yes, the very ancient codes have been reinterpreted, and men can be adulterous pricks.
Curiously, in some jurisdictions, getting a blowjob isn’t considered adulterous behavior, i.e, it’s not grounds for adultery in a divorce action. It was Bill Clinton’s legal loophole rationale in his deposed response.
It really was, black market organ transplants is a pretty edgy topic.
The rather desolate landscape of Sweden perfectly echoes the character’s private torment. I’m certain that they purposely shot the exteriors in late summer or early Autumn to achieve the desired color palette.
Twas why I included the “ha!” Snark tag was implied.
I’m not sure how you’d drag the teabaggers in. Fox and ClearChannel are obvious: they give the Beckster his access to the (public!) airwaves, and so are responsible in some degree for what he says. Especially if he keeps repeating it without repudiation from them.
The Church never threatens men who commit adultery and get their girlfriends abortions Rat. Given the number of GOPers who cheat on their many wives its hard to believe the girl friends inbetween the wives never got knocked up until Carl Paladino. Newt, Rush etc how many wives and yet no bastards?
Abortion! its obvious
Okay, cop a plea to single count of insufficient labeling and we’ll call it even…
The Tea Baggers get funding from rich GOPers the Tea Baggers support candidates who lie about immigrants, gays, african americans etc these lies cause hate crimes people die.
CTuttle is upstairs!
Late, Late Night FDL: All Right Now
Yes, beautiful in desolation. We saw that in Norway. Still, amazing.
Technically adultery can only occur between two married (to others) people. Any coupling involving unmarried persons is “fornication.”
Of course by “technically” I refer to the traditional biblical definition. In contemporary usage it is applied much more broadly.
Maybe. Personally, I doubt it’s a direct enough connection.
Time for me to bow out. Wishing a splendid evening to all.
Father Caughlin
That puts my in mind of a parody song I wrote ages ago with a classmate. It was based on the fact that For-ni-ca-tion and A-lou-et-te have the same number of syllables …
Yeah, I need to visit the land of Morpheus as well.
Good night, folks.
These are the REPUBLICAN candidates on the ballots. REPUBLICANS picked these literally insane people for their representatives. Not “tea party-backed” as the MegaMedia likes to say. These are REPUBLICANS. And they are CRAZY. Pass it on.
Political suicide, live!
Hey Water tiger, there are lots of people who dont want their kids to be gay. Does this mean they are all bigots? Calling people names who disagree with how you choose to live may feel good but it only creates more obstacles in what your trying to achieve. Face it, in this society homosexuality may be more acceptable but it is not the norm and no matter how profanely you call people names who disagree with you its not going to change.
I don’t know. Do the island teabaggers have access to high powered rifles and helicopters?
(BTW “Royal Heinous” – Brilliant!)
