Throughout this cycle, SurveyUSA’s polling in California has been slightly less favorable for Democrats, but the most recent poll for CBS 5 shows clear movement in favor of Gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown and incumbent Sen. Barbara Boxer. Both Democrats now lead in their respective races.

Next Friday Saturday, on 10.2.10, a large and diverse coalition of over 200 faith, labor, youth, student and civil rights organizations will mass in Washington and cities all over the country for One Nation Working Together. Organizers expect participants in the six figures to “demand the change we voted for” and build a social movement around Jobs, Justice and Education for All. This event contrasts with the spate of Tea Party rallies and events that we’ve seen over the past year.

Arch pundit Stephen Colbert is scheduled to appear before the House Judiciary Committee’s immigration subcommittee on Friday September 24 to discuss his experience picking fruit as part of the United Farm Workers Take Our Jobs program, which invites U.S. citizens and legal residents to replace tens of thousands of immigrant field laborers, most of whom are undocumented. Conservatives are outraged, naturally.
