i’m doing ok. saw the first pics of my future grandbaby — jen had an ultrasound thurs. we talked today and she’s not ralphed for 5 days so i’m not as worried as i had been (she’s had a rough go so far). weather has been changable up here — yesterday we had the same humidity and temperature that the hawaiian islands did and there was not a cabana boy in sight :) otherwise, same ole same ole which is good in my book.

Hi Pups. I drove from the Nard to Santa Paula yesterday…..from 85 degrees to 105…….like driving into the mouth of hell. And I like Santa Paula! But, wow, hot and dry. Nicer today…..lovely, actually, at the beach. Oxnard doesn’t get many surfers, but this late afternoon there were several and they were getting wonderful waves. A pleasure to watch.

The Veteran Navigator sounds incredibly helpful to me.

Sorry to hear your daughter’s been having a rough time. I sailed through my pregnancies, but have a sister-in-law who was miserable FOUR times. She had trouble keeping anything down for practically the whole time, yet had four healthy, adorable kids. And obviously chose to keep doing it, because it was worth it!

If I complained about anything today, it would be criminal. It was SOOOO hot yesterday, and then the sundowner raised the temp and it never went down. Sleep was very iffy and crankiness ensued. This morning it was still warm, but we had a great tropical effect, where all the heat put enough moisture in the system to give us lots of clouds. Our reward for making it through the short, but potent, heat wave was a gorgeous sunset tonight.
