Ana Popovic — Big Town Playboy.
What’s on your mind?
HR call today was concerned about salary history – position I interviewed for 3 weeks ago is lower level than manager thinks I fit and they were concerned.
hey wmd — how ya doing tonight?
hey ce — so, how was amsterdam? didja take pictures? dish girlfriend!
Hey, you people!
I have two more phone interviews tomorrow – an initial screen from a new company, and a technical call from another.
hey mary mac — how’s sac tonight?
Patty has Flicker photos that are wonderful.
forkin’ hot today. 101. 100 tomorrow. It was all that hot air from the gov debate in Davis.
For Rahm Emanuel’s mayoral bid.
my gut tells me that your gonna get an offer soon dood. the job interviews are becoming more frequent
yeouch — i’m so glad i’m not down there… i’da melted. my friend in hollywood said it was 113 yesterday down there.
One of my references asked me if I’d could do some writing for him. No discussion of remuneration, but hey it’s another gig.
your name is getting out there… and that’s important
orange kittnz! hey that guy — how ya doing tonight?
Yeehaa, Ana, you FUCKING go, girl!!
Thank you, Suzanne. I needed some female kick-ass energy tonight. Been throwing it around for 3 days.
i should be in bed here in the City Beautiful (where Grayson has REALLY pissed off his opponent. Grayson is crazy. In a good way. Love him). Ever been tired but just can’t sleep? that’s me.
hey openhope — glad ya liked it — how goes your rally prep?
probably should have acknowledge the increasing frequency of interviews/calls.
it really has become a lot more frequent.
I think an offer is coming.
hey bfl — i hate it when that happens — sucks dood. otherwise, how ya doing?
Doing good, looking forward to my Nashville trip next month. Having a blast with the kittens.
hey man, what it do? hot, eh? speakin’ of hot. watchin’ Hazel Mae on MLB network.

Another woman with a guitar – Patty Larkin.
“Sometimes you put walls up not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down.” lizzie15635
Found this quote on a writers’ forum. Don’t know who lizzie15635 is, but I suspect she’s one fine critical thinker….
hey mr why — how ya doing tonight?
ok, suze. not great, not bad. wish we had 100 degree weather. could deal with it. havin’ an ugly storm. doesn’t even have a name. tropical depression #16. been pretty nasty. the lightning scares the living shit out of me. Central FL is worst place in USA for lightning. I’m totally, completely, 100% scared of lightning. even before i moved here.
and how YOU dune, suze?
hey robert — how ya doing?
i’m doing ok. saw the first pics of my future grandbaby — jen had an ultrasound thurs. we talked today and she’s not ralphed for 5 days so i’m not as worried as i had been (she’s had a rough go so far). weather has been changable up here — yesterday we had the same humidity and temperature that the hawaiian islands did and there was not a cabana boy in sight :) otherwise, same ole same ole which is good in my book.
girls with guitars
Happy. Got my green tea and lemon cake. On my favorite late late night chatfest.
Rules of Engagement
Love this song, thanks Suz!
Ohio is very cool and rainy, off and on.
Hi folks. Been reading and enjoying these late nights — often long after they ended — so thought I’d say hello.
Happen to be in California, but missed the debate. Dang. Wonkette had a pretty funny recap:
That’s all I got.
hey margot — glad ya liked it (and got some cool rain). how ya doing?
hey kitty — welcome to late late night! where abouts in ca? i was in the santa cruz area before moving to oregon.
ET phoning home – My TA and I battled in the waves and fading light to set my dock back into place after our weekend windstorm. It worked. I’m pooped. 35 F and gonna freeze tonight.
I watched only part of it. eMeg is just toooooo icky to watch and Jerry looks like he is on speed.
Take you back.
Welcome to the lake, kittygalore.
hey et *laughing* i always wanted to say that to ya but thought ya might get mad… and yikes! tonight the first freeze of the season?
Welcome. We’re friendly even when we’re disagreeing.
that’s sweet dood
Not quite a one hit wonder.
Anaheim at the moment. Hot today.
Hey, Suzanne, love that Texas Guitar Woman. Thanks.
Yep. I pulled everything but the carrots and potatoes yesterday. They’ll do fine, as it is supposed to warm up tomorrow night.
yikes — hot indeed. glad ya liked them. sue foley is way underappreciated imho.
Hi Pups. I drove from the Nard to Santa Paula yesterday…..from 85 degrees to 105…….like driving into the mouth of hell. And I like Santa Paula! But, wow, hot and dry. Nicer today…..lovely, actually, at the beach. Oxnard doesn’t get many surfers, but this late afternoon there were several and they were getting wonderful waves. A pleasure to watch.
Absolutely awesome. The city just e-mailed me the permit and asked that next time I allow 90 days. Which is good, because the PR went out yesterday and will continue to build throughout the week . 3 days. We don’t want a big crowd. We want to serve lunch to 50 – 75 citizens and then go into public speaking. Hopefully, we’ll have 2 keynote speakers who get 20 minutes speaking plu questions and answers.
A dynamic woman, Gold Star mom and Veteran Outreach Support Network coordinator. Focusing on:
1] Veteran’s court. Understanding that the life issues that face veterans who find themselves in conflict with our legal system are not the same as criminal court. Treatment is our National Duty.
2] Veteran Navigator. Developing a system of volunteers who will commit to 1 year to help veterans returning navigate the paper bullshit they’ll be faced with.
3] Social community projects, unfortunately, unpaid positions, for the vets that are pursuing a career. As far as I know. I’ll know more Oct.2.
So, when I go into shops to ask if they’ll post our flyer in our little RedNeck world sprinkled with Libruls.
I start to walk out after asking them to consider posting our One Nation Working Together event. And I see their Support Our Military sign. I can come back in and explain our first speaker with enthusiasm for Supprting Our Troops. And we talk a little bit. I leave it up to them to post or not.
And I leave out Part 2; second Keynote speaker, hopefully. One of the top people for SensibleWashington. End Marijuana prohibition.
Too much information. Why stress them.
how much longer ya figure before ya gotta pull them too?
Oh brother. Painful. Poor California.
Is it the one and only debate?
Woman playin’ guitar.
hey dearie — cooler is good :) how ya doing otherwise?
woohoo!!! nice work
The Veteran Navigator sounds incredibly helpful to me.
I had to go through paperwork hell when family member got sick, had to apply for every program under the sun and work and raise kids and it was just hell. I break out in hives thinking about it.
kewl, prospective group leader from last friday just got back with me about question I had about using exercise facilities.
It’s 55 degrees here in Pennsylvania. Daytime temps not to break 70 from tomorrow till lord knows…
Checking in with a lovely evening in SB. We baked ourselves yesterday with 100+ temps and are all relishing the normal evening we have today.
Something different – rock on!
geez. been there, etc.
Ten days. Gotta go.
I have a secret love of PA.
Good. Good. And more good. Impressive and important.
hey sb — yay to normal! how ya doing tonight?
last night, temps were rising — from 64 to 68 and didn’t start to fall again until after 2am. tonight, back down to our usual mid to high 50′s but 40′s are in the future
Doing well. I’ve been able to work enough this year to pay property taxes and long term care insurance. That feels good.
Sorry to hear your daughter’s been having a rough time. I sailed through my pregnancies, but have a sister-in-law who was miserable FOUR times. She had trouble keeping anything down for practically the whole time, yet had four healthy, adorable kids. And obviously chose to keep doing it, because it was worth it!
twas a fine garden ya had this year et.
yay! that’s gotta feel good to know those are taken care of dearie.
I’ve been to California;
Been to Texas;
But I love my Pennsylvania
In spite of high taxes.
Here in the valley in a circle of forested mountains, life is good, cost of living cheap, a melting pot of progressives and moderates (except for the Carville T.
Exactly. It’s not designed for an average human being. But…there are people with that gift out there and some of them would probably find renewed energy using their skills.
she sounded better today too. not so exhausted and we had a good chat. she enters her second trimester this week and told me she will find out what the baby is on 11/15. i hope the worst of the morning sickness is now behind her and she can start enjoying being pregnant
If I complained about anything today, it would be criminal. It was SOOOO hot yesterday, and then the sundowner raised the temp and it never went down. Sleep was very iffy and crankiness ensued. This morning it was still warm, but we had a great tropical effect, where all the heat put enough moisture in the system to give us lots of clouds. Our reward for making it through the short, but potent, heat wave was a gorgeous sunset tonight.
I used to know some people in the Somerset area. That area felt ancient to me, like spooky old. Not like the Rockies.
Y KNEW you’d rope me in with a lil Weissenborn and Cindy Cashdollar didja . . . . ;-)
BTW Sue Foley is Canadian, not Texan, she lives in Ottawa now. He Said She Said is on my top ten list this year.
I hear you on the long-term care insurance. Just got my bill again. Geesh. it’s expensive.
Pregnancy and I were not friends. Fuck that OOhhAAAhhhh you’re a perfect vessel thang.
There’s no normal. But there is a need for support, with recognition of hormone insufferable bitchiness. :]
Lot of ghosts decided to stay put in Somerset inside of move on to the other side…
hey larue — how ya doing tonight?
oh crap.. thanks mr why… lard knows how i got that confused…
Happiness. Great cut, wmd.
And, one hopes!, will never be used. I got a policy that says if I pay for ten years or more and never use it, then my kids can inherit what I’ve paid in. I figured that was worth the risk. I don’t really want to ever, ever need long term care, but if I do, I don’t want my kids to have to wipe my butt, and if I never use the insurance I like that they’ll get what I paid in. So much thinkie!
I like Olbermann. I love Rachel. But that Lawrence O’Donnell just comes off to me as some smug Democratic Party hack.
I think it’s just that when I visited there, I was newly from the Southwest and unused to lots of tall trees hanging over me.
Agreed. He’s an ass. When I watched him go off on that young women from OWL (or whatever) I realized that he was NOT one of the good guys.
be careful Suz!
I lived in Bloomsburg for two years. Loved it. But no one would talk to me cause I was the weird one from CA. Most of the folks in town had never even been to NYC or Philly.
The most exciting thing, I don’t have to care if it’s good weather or horrible. It’s not really my gig, even though my name is the only one on the permit.
It’s gotten so much bigger than me. I’m the mid-wife.
And I think from some of his comments, he likes the Catfood Commission’s attitude on social security…
time to sleep for me.
good night everybody.
happy 100 robert!!!
And this was not the first time I heard him stumble over saying ‘firedoglake’ — and stumble over dd’s name. He’s an O’Donnell …. whatever.
That’s sweet slide woik . . . thanks!
And Sue Foley . . . . always sweet sangin and pickin.
thanks for the warning wmd — standing
I want presents…
he pissed me off with his arogent rudeness to that lady from OWL… i’ve switched the channel as soon as rachel is over and not watched him. his ego is gonna be his downfall.
*handing ya box of crowing rights* here ya go dood
MSNBC should’ve picked Stephanie Miller…or Jane Hamsher
‘night wmd. Sweet dreams and job offers.
alison stewart is on pbs now — i liked her when she guest hosted.
I read Jane’s article, Hectoring the Base, over at HP this morning. I thought, “Whoa. Absolutely!”
But many of the commentors were really threatened by it. I mean, really over-reacting to what is clearly the gameplan.
Easy mistake to make. Canada likes to claim Neil Young as one of our own still.
It’s past my bedtime. Night all.
Great minds think alike. I was just about to mention her, but I couldn’t remember how to spell Alison. I kept typing Alyson.
She picked a poor showcase for her talent over a PBS. I miss Bill Moyers.
g’nite mr why
emotions run high because the stakes are high. and a lotta folks don’t want to admit the reality turned out different than the dream — they have too much of themselves emotionally invested in the dream
i had it allison with 2 l’s… thank goodness for the google :)
Yeah, lots of people running around with their hair on fire.
Anyway, it was a very mild political analysis, fer chrisake.
Arianna on Jon Stewart is going to run as many buses as necessary from NYC to the Sanity gathering on Oct. 30.
I hope New Yorkers will join up! My best friend’s guy surprised her by booking tickets and lodging….coming from CA. I hope good folks who can make it to DC to the Mall for the gathering will consider joining this adventure.
I worry now that Comcast owns NBC, they’ll stifle Olbermann and Maddow. I look for Maddow to win Peabody, Edward R. Murrow and Noble Prize for her hunt-and-present-facts-nobody-else-reports journalism.
i hope arianna has enough buses… (edit) and there is a huge forking turnout
Wish I had a boyfriend. Oh wait…. I do. My exhusband.
The weather is great here in SF. Best time of the year!
hey spocko — i heard your fog is back! how ya doing tonight?
Lawrence has been a non event for years. Until he wasn’t.
Hey, spocko. Everyone’s into the City Of Love when the weather’s good. Yes?
I don’t think Lawrence is very smart.
I think Lawrence fits the bill for shill. Always has been, always will. A ho’s a ho. just sayin’.
His face remains me of that computer-generated Max Headroom back when the Internet was a fad.
Yes. That’s my assessment, too. He seems overwhelmed. And after all these years. I think he’s just in over his head.
i think lawrence has a hyper-inflated view of himself and his abilities
Like The Senator said, 100F today . . . one report says only 98F tomorrow, then down to lo 90′s and then 80′s thru abpit 7-10 days.
Most unexpected after such a cool summer.
74F outside now, but fans and AC gettin us down to about 80F inside. Be another hour before the heat’s flushed out and it’s 75F inside. Open a window and turn off AC in ten and sleep with eyes open till it cools down.
I gotta do a rare (for me) 0600 wakey in the morning so night Suz and Pups. Some fine Ana, Texas Wimmen Gits and Sue Foley tonight, thanks all!
With all due respect, Lawrence only shone as a severe centrist in a world of chaos. A long time ago. I held his word as a sign of hope towards a shift to true dialogue.
Stupid little bitch I am.
Bye, Larry. Kiss my hopeful ass.
Thanks for the great music, folks. I’m off to pursue more of Sue Foley. nite all.
Night all. Sweet dreams.
g’nite openhope — no booby prize last comment for you tonight :)
Well, I wrote on OpedNews months ago that Obama would wake up and clean house near the November elections. Bye Summers. By Emanuel and, hopefully after the elections, Tim Geither.
I have a friend who is very threatened. I posted articles from here on Facebook, and she was unpleasant in the comments. I didn’t say anything in response to her rants until I had just had enough and told her we could agree to disagree, but I wasn’t going to let her disrespect me anymore.
Oh, fuck. Is that bait??
nope — just making some fucking lemonade :)
I’m so old I remember the days when the word “douche” was like a technical term or something.
Peace. and best wishes for your family.
“douche” fancy Frenchie term, ain’t it?
hey vmt — how ya doing tonight?
Like Larue above, our house is just about emptied of the heat from the past few days. I’m really, really looking forward to a good night’s sleep with soft, cool breezes. Sounds so good, I think it’s time to go. ‘Night all.
“Douche” “Bidets” something like ‘at.
Hi Suz, just popping in to fool around before I fall asleep.
It is finally down to 72 degrees outside. I can turn on the whole house fan.
Once I found the cat stuck to the ceiling so I will keep it on low from now on.
I never really knew who the “Pasty Little Putz” was…..and I couldn’t even get at it on the google because Marion from Savannah’s posts overwhelmed…….but I guess the little fat boy is Ross Douthat, and he was pasty as all get-out on Colbert just now. Live and learn. How in the hell do these lightweights get any audience at all?
hey newton — how ya doing tonight?
yay and rut roh *laughing* bailey cat used to hog the sofa back (her monorail-cat pose) under the ceiling fan when it was hot at the cabin
Tell me, please – any news to report on the efforts to throw a bag over
Jim “I’m shuttin this thing down all by my lonesome” DeMint’s head and spirit him to Palintopia?
The forker keeps escaping cause he is soooo slippery.
i figured fool on the hill might have been taken the wrong way
I’m so old I might take it the wrong way anyway.
I think you need to start a makeout music thread one of these days.
laughing — glad i avoided this games
Is that sort of like a fuck thread?
oh lardy, i’m just a consultant nowadays….
Oh yeah, baby.
I just took this of Tucker.
what a cutie — has on his make it cooler mom face
I ashamed to admit it, but this might be my first fuck thread.
He is big. B.I.G.
about time for me to head out folks. thank you for letting me hang out with ya tonight.
Good nite Suz. I am out of here, too. See yous in the a.m.
Night Suz. I think I’ll head out, too. Been fun. Night all.
Gonna have a tough time making the rent on Friday. Anything you kind people could do to help would be greatly appreciated. More details are here or here.
