Nice congrats on the ZED know better than to go up against a Pin Ball Wizard. How tricks?
hey bb — i saw that!!! always good to start the day off with a big ole smile :) how ya doing tonight?
Chiming in: great gathering last night, Suzanne. Much comfort in having a place to settle in at the Lake in the LateLate and just feel content. Thanks.
Suz !
Cold temps, warming Liqueurs and the company of good friends is what’s on my mind.
hey ll — how’s va tonight? any rain?
Bike is gone. Title signed over.
Living alone again too. It was nice having a companion and snuggle buddy the last few months.
It sure would be nice to have work to occupy my mind.
Suze! Pups!
My time-share doggie is begging for some of my popcorn … should i share?
. . . .
she loves it. People food is always great if you’re a doggie.
hey dearie — late late night is what you the readers make it :) it feels good because that is what ya’ll have created here
how ya doing tonight?
petro!!! how’s toronto tonight?
The rain is on the way, according to my fave weather blog — should be hitting here tomorrow evening, then continuing on into Monday and maybe Tuesday….ahhhh!
hey ndfg — has she had popcorn before? any ill effects? how ya doing tonight?
Hey, all. Can I compulsively talk about this Rally we’re doing ? It’s so a go.
Took it easy today started a little strength training program. Bit of sniffles so am not long here. The weather here is making for big red juicy tomatoes. And it is shorts and swim wear. Lazy days.
hey openhope — absofuckinglutely
how ya doing?
16 comments in less than 7 minutes.
Izat a record?
I was just typing away downstairs like it was Christmas morning. Looked up and everyone was up here.
Hey Suz!
Training camp has started for Hockey, so we’re excited for the Fall … of the Leafs ! *g*
*This is a really funny joke, for Maple Leaf Fans*
hey starbuck — its a record if we hit over 220 the first hour (iirc)
how’s your side of the coast range tonight?
What is it about late nights and cats — they always seem to go on a tear in the wee hours. That’s what my kitteh is doing right now. She’s a big girl, too, which makes it even funnier to watch ;-)
hey mary mac — how’s sac tonight?
hockey — that’s the one with that little shuttlecock thingie ya play on the beach?
Evening everyone. openhope, are the internets good for your organizing? I love the internets.
Finally cooled off. Walked the third district today with my union buddies for Brown, Bera and Pam. Don’t know why Boxer wasn’t included. Strange.
yeah, the daughter and grandson have been giving her popcorn for several months. We toss a piece up in the air and she snags it with a mighty jump. Of course, it’s always home-popped, we don’t give ourselves or the dog microwave popcorn. Lotta nasty chemicals in that stuff.
hey bg — how ya doing tonight?
I’m a Caps fan, can we still be friends? *g*
Doing great, Suz. We’ve had 4 days of sunshine on the south central coast…..and I’m all energized. The fog was beginning to wear on me. Had fun with the baby-boys this a.m. using bubble stuff…..never thought they could hold their interest so long! You’ve got great days in your grandmothering future. I was sure I’d like it, but the 4 grandkids I got in less than 3 years have just been great! Politics be damned, I say.
does anyone know the answer to that?
Awesome! I found the thme song and Mr. Openhope agrees. Will play every 15 minutes during set-up. To acceptable noise level. Along with whatever the Sound Crew designs.
But, I’m a person who relies on Suzanne’s skills.
Santana , Supernatural, “Put Your Light On”.
For sure! Tell more!
then go for it! people food is always a special treat
tis a good theme song openhope
LOL … yup !
Perhaps she’s not participating in what is known as “the coordinated campaign?”
This year is Ovechkin’s year !
Fly King pretty cool.
Ovie rawks, and I hope you’re right!
been a while dood — how goes the book?
We are really typeing fast tonight here!
Good here Suz. My SO and I went to the Polish Festival where I just had to get into the polka dancing contest.
At 73. that’s a biggie, and I found that out rather fast! We lasted 2 rounds, and the judges mercifully eliminated us. Damn! Dancing wise, we were better than two of the three finalists.
No endurance any more!
glad ya liked it bb
The Caps have a great team, O.V. needs to realize that he doesn’t have to play 110% every night … the way Kobe realized the same.
oh starbuck that sounds like such fun…. good food and dancing but i hear ya, my get up and go has gotten up and went.
I didn’t even think about it until I got home. I will ask next week. I have a pretty interesting diary come up about it.
Hey, can anyone tell me where the “discussion” of the “Sharktapus” [or whatever] movie is/was?
And, also, watching the Oregon-AZ State game, although now it’s pretty clear Oregon’s gonna win.
Looking for an Agent who will get my first manuscript sold to a big Publishing House … then it’ll be Champagne and Crab Legs for you an’ me, Suz. *g*
*rubbing hands together with gleeful anticipation*
when do ya think it will be ready? sunday?
hey mauimom — its at emptywheel — bmaz did it.
how’s your island tonight
Yes! The food! I grew up on ethnic Slovak-Czech-Polish fare, and I got my fill tonight!
My oh, my! The festival grounds felt (and tasted!) like old Chicago!
I also bought my SO a very nice necklace, made, of all things of yak something ( no, not the droppings!)
Good for UO!
I am thinking Tuesday I will finish it up. I need to ruminate on it awhile longer. After seeing Bera speak today I was really impressed.
Sounds like a great time!
i forget — are uo ducks or are they beavers?
kewl… please let me know when its up
Ducks. OSU are the Beavers, whom I generally root for.
And I haven’t seen many Lungren signs out. I think he may happy to retire to the cushy world of lobbying. He is suck a dick. He didn’t request any stimulus money for this district and we are closing schools and parks.
Reminds me of all my night in Tijuana Mexico listening to grreat music and dancing til the sun came up! Plays a sweet guitar thanks for that
lucky you! i only have one … and he was begging for a brother or sister a couple of years ago. My daughter reported the conversation as something like this:
MD (my daughter) “You’d have to share your room.”
G-unit (my grandson) “that’s ok!”
MD “You’d have to share your toys.”
G-unit “that’s ok!”
MD “You’d have to share your mommy & daddy.”
G-unit “that’s ok!”
MD “You’d have to share your grandmas.”
G-unit “NO! THEY CAN GET THEIR OWN GRANDMAS!”
once he found out that wasn’t how it would work, he lost all interest in siblings.
Did I tell you all my squirrel story?
i’ve heard there is great rivalry between the ducks and beavers. i have a hard time keeping who’s who straight
Well I had a fun evening out at dinner with one of my oldest friends (or rather, longest-term friends — she hates to be reminded of her age!) Nothing exotic, just dinner at Outback, but her dad had slipped her $100 recently so dinner was on him. Our server was a very young and earnest kid, and he was great…the proprietor stopped to chat with us at our table for a while, and the server gave us after-dinner coffees on the house. We gave him something like a 50% tip because it was such an enjoyable time.
hahahaha that’s a wonderful story ndfg….
do tell senator
oh that’s so cute ndfg — he wants his gran all to his own! ;-)
Petro! Suz! Hi everyone, fall is here, cool temps and warm drinks sound good to me.
Email Exchange Between me, daughters, Ron and Sistawoman:
“A baby squirrel fell out of the tree in the front yard this afternoon. Tucker was sitting next to it and had his big old paw on top of it. We brought all of the critters inside. We put the baby in a box with a heating pad in it and put it under the tree. It screamed and screamed. Finally, it crawled out of the box and about a foot up the trunk. The little guy didn’t even have his eyes opened yet. The mom squirrel finally came down and took him home.
H.U.R.R.A.Y.”
From Sara:
“That is so cute! ”
From Sistawoman:
“Wow. Did you just catch Tucker in time or was he protecting it somehow? How long did it take for the mom squirrel to get it?”
From Amy:
“wow. I’m glad he got home!”
From me to daughters, Ron and Sistawoman:
“The entire adventure took about two hours. Tucker was licking his chops. There was no protecting going on. I think Tucker was a little confused cause the baby was making so much noise. We were getting ready to walk the dogs so the four of us bounded out the front door to find the drama unfolding. It took awhile to create a quiet atmosphere to let the mom feel safe enough to get the baby. We read online that you need to keep the baby warm or the mom won’t come get it. Ron and I stayed at our computers and looked out the window every so often to check it out. The mom skuttled down the trunk, check out the baby, stuck him in her mouth and took him home. I put a big container of cracked corn at the bottom of the tree yesterday but it was totally empty this morning. A deer probably got it. So often these things don’t turn out too well. This was a great happy ending.”
From Sistawoman:
“Cool story. Do you think that Tucker is going to be sitting under the tree a lot waiting for another meal to fall down to earth just for him?! He probably thought he’d hit the crackpot (or whatever that may be in cat nomenclature)!”
From me:
Tucker is going to start writing ballards about his broken heart from missed opportunities.

hey margot — how’s ohio tonight?
Civil war!
I had a cousin playing Lineback for UO while I had kids as OSU. My uncle came out for the game and got me tickets. Crist! Where do I sit and who do I root for?
He was very accomodating.
Unfortunately, none of my kids attended the game.
aw and hahahahaha
Great saga there, and I love the song titles ;-)
I think we may be having “a moment” in local energy for One Nation Working Together. We don’t want big numbers. We don’t want to be entertained by live music. We want to share a meal together and talk about the things that matter, locally. We’re paying a stipend to the Whatcom Peace and Justice Center to send out a speaker who understands the Veteran’s Outreach Program. And hopefully we can come up with the gas money for Evan Knappenberger, my” son-of-a-different-mother” to come talk. I met him the last time I had this wild hair to do a rally in a War Memorial Park. So there’s another $15 gas. Of course, there’s his wonderful wife, Marie Marchand, director of Whatcom Peace and Justice Center. An incredible force for Peace and Justice. And an incredible speaker/writer. As they both are. Evan’s been featured on Commondreams.org.Marie on AfterDowningStreet.org.
The talking and thinking has to happen. Or we’re all just Good Americans.
Either way, no one gets to hog the mike. :>
One Nation Working Together
Peace
Great, how’s Oregon?
No kidding, plus you will have your little waiter for life. If you go back, he will be all over you with the best service evah. You will be the customers he will never forget.
(This is response to ll of course).
That’s a hoot! One of my twin grandbabies told his mom, my adored daughter, to stop touching him….and moved over to my side. Sheesh! We blew bubbles for a good hour and a half. I got bored before they did. Grandbabies rock.
rain supposed to hit around midnight. but today was nice — had some sunshine before the clouds returned.
He was so cute bg — when we asked him why he didn’t charge us for the coffees, he said “oh I didn’t feel like it” and gave us a grin ;-)
I know this from experience, ;).
Wow the thread is hoppin’! I keep trying to make sure I’ve read everything before I comment, and I can’t keep up.
lol — schmoozing works sometimes eh ;-)
Yes. And Yes. And Yes. And, again, YES.
Oh, yeah! Congratulations on Getting There. That is a hugh. Awesome!
Don’t try. Dive in!
Often.
Fewer than 20 comments until the vaunted 100!
hey sb — how’s santa barbara tonight?
aww, poor kitty. You rescued his manna from heaven. Has he forgiven you yet?
*zipping my fonts until after the all clear*
My friend and I are both 50-ish and it seems to be easier for us to schmooze and network in our early dotage, and for people to take us more seriously *g*
your ‘spatcher will watch out for ya Suz ;-)
Getting older is weird like that. Hard to play it sometimes.
Sure you will…
Hey Suz!
Not only did summer join us, but we had a sundowner tonight. It went from 72° to 85° from 8-9pm. Thankfully it’s gone back down, especially if you’re a golden retriever! My pups were panting.
*clicking mic in acknowledgment*
That is such a great idea. The more intimate the better. Solutions to problems at a very local level. Talking with your neighbor. Seducing us all back into our communities. Community gardens. Community clinics. Community tutoring and mentoring. Book sharing. Painting groups. Birding groups. Bringing people into these kinds of endeavors who have never done them. Let people know they are valued.
heehee, that’s so cute! My grandson is 6, so he’s quite firm about telling his mom “it’s time for you to LEAVE! GoodBYE!” when one of his grandmas is going to babysit.
Youngsters! The grand prize winner of the polka contest was 62
Hmmm
newt! Channel is 10-3! ;-)
Suzanne is sitting on her hands. Holding her breath.
hey newton — how’s the west bay?
love that old-school radio ack ;-)
happy 100 starbuck!!!
Eugene Ducks where I graduated. Corvalis Beavers more engineering/Ag school Ducks rule lately. No2 Last year Nationwide football Ohio State beat them in the Rose Bowl.
That was indeed the feeling at the Polish Festival. Community.
It is weird, but in a good way. I find that I can get away with lots more these days *g*
oh yes. Tucker forgives right away. He is more of a dog in that way than a kittah.
LL, tip o’ the hat
Starbuck a winner tonight after all!
dang. LL, with you warning Suze, we miss the chance of her swearing and the start of yet another great fuck thread.
I didn’t even try this time!
Thanks!
Damn, you didn’t take the bait…
Fine and dandy. You fogged in up there?
Yes, BUT! My 3 year old granddaughter is a pistol…..told me to leave. And said same to her grandfather and his wife. It’s a roller coaster ride sometimes. I’m lucky, I think, to get to see the little 2 year old twins every week so that they think I’m just part of their mix.
Channel’s clear, and congrats to Starbuck. And lol to newt and ndfg ;-)
It is never too late to start the fucking.
thanks folks — started off the week hitting both the 100 *and* the 200… nice to end my week missing the first (and hopefully the latter if we get there)
I only made it through 25 seconds. I got dizzy watching the patterns spin. Perhaps earlier in the day for me?
Oh, yes. We’re having a Make Your Own Sign table. Eat, talk, think, make a sign if it moves you.
FUCK — i can’t win for losing *laughing* fucking double irish yanno
*setting aside my dispatcher headset and persona for now*
sigh. i miss my kittehs. I think you linked to a pic of Tucker once, big, handsome, fluffy?
Two cats at my house, Mr. Sadness and Miss Sissy are siblings. They have lived with me for nine years, and still I cannot touch them. She is not so nice sometimes, and I totally adore him. It breaks my heart that he cannot get over his fear.
overcast with rain on the way. hit 70 today and portland got up to 79. pretty nice day
Cuz we will be Marching and we won’t be Silent.
Sky King
It’s Corvallis (two l’s)
I agree about the Ducks, and take the high road to celebrate both teams over all.
It’s for you
Larue was still chattin’ away to himself downstairs as of 10:36 PDT, but said he was comin’ up…yoo hoo Larue, you here yet?
hey larue — how ya doing tonight?
What is it with Cat People?
Sincerely,
A Dog Person
fuck yeah!
I can’t keep up either, you’re not alone there kid
The first part of the dance contest was just for the kids. One couple was so cute we rooted all the way for them, but they didn’t make the final cut. One of the girls cried her heart out!
glad to be of fucking service, ma’am
Bike? Moto Biker?
Lost a roomie and lover?
Damn hoss . . . .
Words fail.
Maybe. Steve is quite a guitar player.
We like a challenge. Dogs are just too easy. But I love them too.
I had a kitty like that for five years. She went around the bend completely and we had to put her down. It was 30 years ago. We found her in the woods in Memphis. Her name was Phylis. When she had a litter of kittens she was totally normal.
Making your own protest sign is very nice touch, may I use that at a future rally? Recycled card board Maybe
It was 98F and more today, and will be more tomorrow, and Mon, and Tues.
Up to 100+F.
Weird shit, indeed.
I was a cat person for years and years. Then I got a dog. A malamute. Great critter. Now I consider myself a cat/dog person but I have more fun with the dogs. I am a little allergic to kittahs.
I’ll give it a try when I haven’t been sitting in an oven. Even though the temp is dropping, it takes a while for the house to cool down.
LOL mary, I may just put that (as a quote from you) as my FB status.
Give the reunion organizers something to worry about all year…
My kitteh is such a lap cat, but she does not enjoy being picked up and held in my arms. Can’t figure that out at all. My late cat loved nothing more than being held like a baby.
i always thought of myself as a cat person until token stole my heart. now i’m a both.
We are paying for all that sane weather we had in the summer.
We have a cat that knows the names of his rivals. One shows up and my SO cries. C is here! and Stinker roars to life, scoots to the screen and hisses!
Forgot my MLA Style sheet tonight…i bought a home 60 miles South of Corvallis in Bethel-Danebo should know how to spell it sorry.
And I think Bailey and Token both understand that mindset ;-)
Dan Lungren has been a dic for as long as we lived here.
And that was ’88.
I HATE that fucker.
A local man had to sell his bike, and was told they’d come take it away on a flatbed truck.
“That’s not happening.”
So he rode it to the buyer’s house and walked miles home.
I am watching the weather in extreme SE Oregon, at Steens Mtn. I am planning a trip about Oct 7 and all next week is in the high 80′s to 90′s.
At 8000ft!
She’s still a friend, and should still have benefits. She started nursing school in South San Jose about 4 weeks ago. Another friend of hers wife is a nurse, getting knee surgery and needs help. and they’ve got a spare room. So she’s 7 miles from school, not 30. I’m happy for her, but having a boon companion on a day to day basis was pretty sweet.
Yeah, sold the R1150RT. I’ve been trying to for a while. Short term help with finances.
I gotta say he is one stupid fucker and arrogant, too.
Damn! Just when another great Fuck thread starts to develop I’m trying to practice my P’s and Q’s for telephone networking. Yes, I’m an old homemaker and you are my project, m#$%er F*&cker!! Deal with it, because TIME means less to me then you.
Some of us must struggle every fucking day to vogue as an adult.
Oh, they are smart like that. Miss Sissy is so jealous of how another cat may get some attention, but she is too afraid to be touched, so she has to act out on the other cat.
I had some neighbors who recently moved taking their very bad tempered cat with them. We do not miss him at my house. He never could figure out how to behave.
Legend has it that one evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?”
The old Cherokee replied, “The one you feed.”
Forgiven! If it wasn;t for spell check….
Me and mine, after 50 years between us in the biz, 25 each . .
We don’t recall the last time we were out to dine.
I have these fantasy’s about it all and thrill to hear of your exploit!
*G*
keep a fucking basket of rolled up socks to throw instead of the swears when phone banking openhope
hey robert — how ya doing tonight?
Growing up in the military, we never had a dog, only cats. Cats were more portable, and easier to pass on to another family when we went overseas. (Of course now that I’m an adult, I realize my kitties may have been going to star in “Logan’s Run.” Since my mom died when I was 18, I never heard the real story.) Turns out I am a complete dog fanatic. Two golden retrievers that I love to pieces.
all the cats i’ve had, each one was particular about wanting to be held just so. When my girls were young, we ended up with 5 cats (long story). And not one wanted to be held like any of the others. Once they got older they all ended up being pretty good lap kitties. Which was a problem with our German Shepherd. She considered herself the Alpha Cat, and couldn’t grasp why she couldn’t curl up in our laps the same way.
lol Larue — I think we were just in the right place at the right time, the stars were aligned and the karma was all good *g*
You have a squirrel story Senator?
Good call.
I am going to tatoo that story on my arm. It was great.
I used to have some self-control over the fuck talk, but I worked in a bar for too long and lost my ability in that direction. I find my mouth gets bad as soon as I have a beer. It is terrible.
But you know how I love those fucking fuck threads.
ahahaha — that German Shepherd would be a huge lap kitteh!
Relaxing. Got my green tea and a fresh baked slice of lemom cake.
Life’s good.
The after-dinner coffees have lost their edge, and I am hittin’ the wall…thank you Suz as ever, great chatting with everyone, g’night and peace to all!
i start to drawl when i drink — must be a bi-product of living in the south as a kid.
Yep. It is up at #69
Wonderful.
g’nite ll
nn, ll.
PRETTY COOL QUOTE!
I try to live by it. Sometimes it’s just too damn hard, though.
German Shepherds and cats!
When or GS arrived, the house cat, a big fat tabby, thought of himself as the king of the household, and had that shepherd cowering so bad she would slither on the floor to pass the cat, sitting on the sofa arm, batting her with his paw!
And sometimes ya just hafta feed that damn meanie.
oh i like that! I need to post that next to my computer at work …
Probably there’s the difference between Dog and a Cat person. I expect my dogs to guard the premises, respond to hand signals or verbal commands and provide companionship.
Cats don’t do that.
Cats also aren’t so pathetically lame that every human action is somehow related to their sense of Now. There’s that.
Heh, LL busted me for same.
How ya doin Senator.
Please tell hubby I miss his music.
Best to integrate the dark side before it takes up all the room.
Sometimes I love GawkerMedia and their sort of esoteric stuff. They have an article on their io9 blog that talks about atomic clocks showing the passage of time is slower the lower down you are
…
Which explains why time passes more slowly on the floor of the Senate than anywhere else in America. No, really.
I know I don’t have to say this.
hey jofish — how ya doing?
Yes Ma’am. H/T.
Ya think any of those senators is a “sentient photon?” I have my doubts.
Where you heading to 8K SB?
Good Suze, still looking for work, but not too bad other than that. Need to get back into blogging again, bring some life back into my life. LOL!
How have you been?
doing well — gonna be a gramma in april :)
No, but as someone at the io9 blog pointed out, it’s a great name for a band. Beats the “Singing Senators”.
Suz, be careful
Hey, Congrats! Hopefully we’ll wait until the kid’s out of Med School before we get to that stage.
With all due respect. As a person who’s been involved as a friend with an incredible man who carried the Healing Eagle Circle[ or whatever it was called. I'm white atheist who respects him deeply] to where ever it was needed, when asked.
When you start reading Indian Stories you’re reading White Man’s words.
oh dear! i can relate … we had four cats when the GS arrived. She’d grown up with cats and loved them. She couldn’t understand why they didn’t love her. That’s how we ended up with a fifth cat … we were temporarily baby sitting it for someone who’d discovered after she’d gotten the cat for her son that she was horribly allergic to cats. After a day or two we discovered it had ear mites and took it to the vet, the GS was absolutely distraught until the newest cat came home. Turns out it was the only cat that would play with the GS, so it became the dog’s cat. We thought Shadow (the cat) was enamored of wet shower curtains etc because his head was always wet … no it was because the dog would chew on the cat’s head like a tennis ball.
She’s sitting on her hands again, biting her tongue.
thanks for the heads up dood :)
R1150RT?
That a BMW?
Which one, which year, what displacement?
Great bikes. Great travelers. Lord to be young again and livin on a bike and panniers.
*G*
We have a main coon cat named Merlin. He’s The Sweety’s, but right now, like most every night, he gets real irritable, running up and down the stairs, then perching at my feet, staring. He just hates it when I”m up real late on the computer.
He just won’t settle down until I go to bed.
happy fucking 200 ndfg!!!
Quite a story with a happy end and mucho comments. Someone needs to do another Obama post…the guy is off the charts Emptywheel and Glen despite food poisoning made some great observations did you see them?
It’s neither.
It’s the claws!
Common but always welcomed for it’s veracity.
Solid and true, Robert.
Thanks.
We have a maine coon, too. His name is Tucker. He is the most self possessed animal I have ever met. He hangs out a lot on the roof.
Steens Mountain, outside of Frenchglen, in SE Oregon.
Been there earlier and want to see and photograph the fall.
fuck yeah! I couldn’t have hit it if i fucking tried … hurray for fucking lucky accidents!
I’ve always wanted a Maine Coon!
*sniffles* our late great TwitchyTail Furball was a maine coon. What a cat! What a personality! I miss him still.
I have a cat that all the others are terrified of who loves to intimidate them with a fast paw. I don’t think she uses claws, just a fast whack. They just hate it and will NOT pass when she takes position near a door. Which she does a lot, just to bug them. I don’t even think it hurts them physically, but it is devastating to their sense of self. Meanwhile, she cruises the sidewalk and has many admirers who think she is just so wonderful, all the walkers who pass by. She is a character.
evening, firegoogles
hey ppd — how’s the south south bay?
I don’t think Kit actually used claws but once. That’s all it took to convince the dog.
That is, until she grew up!
I’m beat, so g’nite all.
Merlin likes to perch on the banister post of the stairs, studying his kingdom.
Damn if he don’t look like a great big owl staring down when he does that.
See you next time around.
Tucker, the Maine Coon, just has to show his paw to the dogs and they leave the room. We call it Tucker doing the See The Paw Trick.

What climate change?
g’nite starbuck
Oh, shit. Did that sound lame. Sorry.
Night all. Sweet Dreams.
fuck that’s fucking hot dood
Yup. BMW. 1150 ccs. 2003. I put 81,820 miles on her. letting her go is like an amputation.
you headed out bb?
Jo, yours was one of the first blogs I read way back in ‘Ought 4 :)
It was fine. Good night
Merlin climbed up and laid down on my lap, glaring at me. When I insisted on going right on with the chat on Late Late Night FDL. he got miffed and went back upstairs to The Sweety.
Thank you.
peace
talk to the paw!
Thanks, Margot! I really need to get back into writing, now that I have all this “time” on my hands what with the unemployment sitch. I appreciate your loyal readership, glad I didn’t offend you too much! LOL!
not lame at all openhope
g’nite hon
They like their routine. I think cats are a bit autistic, they do not like change. Don’t move the furniture, buy different food, or go to bed late. For starters.
Sigh, nice.
I did Tahoe to almost Whitney in my youth.
I love and miss my Sierra’s.
Up to 13,500 and a tad more.
*G*
Or he thinks I’m his bitch and wants me to know it!
this bullshit of the govt making the stop loss vets apply to them to get the money owed the vets instead of just giving them the fucking money they fucking know they fucking deserve pisses me off. would love to read your take on it jo
Well, there is That. Yes.
Heh, firegoogles . .
You continue to amaze.
*G*
What the fuck is up with that? That is some fucked up shit.
I think they like change as long as they are the ones making it happen. They lose all sense of control when you move to a new place. And put them on an airplane – fuck no. They hate that. You can hear the bad attitude over the jet engines.
I used to ride.
So sorry for your loss.
I hear your heartbreak.
LeSigh.
We need to get the word out. If you are on FB or Tweeter tell everyone. And tell them to pass it along.
totally fucking pisses me off — its like those death benefit ‘checkbooks’ they give the beneficiary instead of the full amount so they can earn interest off the soldier’s death benefits.
a special place in hell awaits the fuckers
bailey had a much harder time adjusting to the move up here than token did.
G’nite Puppers . . . one and all.
Ya be well and ya do good.
Sun comes up tomorrow. We do it all over again .
*bows*
LOL. That is way fucking out of my league. Like if I could put Miss Sissy in a carrier. No, the only way that happened was when I lured her into the bathroom with tuna, me in leather gloves to my elbows to get her in a carrier to be spayed. THAT was the last time, in 2001, when I touched her. She was a baby.
g’nite larue
i’d better get some shuteye, i promised to go in and work some overtime tomorrow. It’s been fucking great, g’night, Suze & Pups!
g’nite ndfg
I’ll have another bike someday.
That is one seriously intense puddytat.
I have a friend whose cat just won’t walk on the floor. It used to when her dog was alive, the cats followed him around. Dog died and now…something’s spooking her. SHe sometimes will skirt the edge of the room.
I asked if maybe there are strips of sunlight (like from venetian blinds) on the floor and the cat is afraid to cross them? Who knows.
nite Larue
When I was handing campaign literatue today I came up to a front door and saw that the woman who lived there was a cat lady. There were carriers and litter boxes all over the front porch. The entire front yard was dead. Creepy.
I heard today Vladimir Putin said he can see Sarah Palin’s bush from his house….
Maybe the cat was doing this the whole time but the dog happened to be with the cat and looked like they were just walking together.
how bizarre margot — bailey would not walk on the floor for the first 30 days there was a d-o-g (token) in the house but now i catch them occasionally snuggled up together (but only when they don’t think i see them)
For the first time in my life, I’m empathetic for the commie bastard.
oh jesus lord. Is that grifter still up there in Alaska.
about time for me to head out folks. thank you for letting me hang out with ya tonight.
g’nite all
Night.
Fuckin’ nuts, I think would be about right. Besides her jealousy of other cats, she is a good girl. And she loves her brother, they love each other so much.
I think in the last few months she has started to relax a little. She will sleep on a chair or sometimes actually the bed, if I am not on it. But she still watches my hands and feet at all times.
The cats at the feral colony I feed are probably going to be more tame in a year than she will be in her life.
Nite Suz!
Oh, man. Just when I was ready to go to bed. This is why we’re budgeting in a measly $50 to have the Whatcom Peace and Justice Center to send down a representative of their new Veteran’s Outreach Program. We have no money. They have no money.
And yet, we will rock.
Money happens.
I am out of here also. It has been a great thread. Thanks everyone.
nn, Suz. Thanks for being the most awesome host ever.
I think I’m done too. Nice to see you all. Take Suz to 300 again, if you can.
Really quickly, I don’t think that it’s bullshit so much as it is paperwork. There is no “central” repository of records at the Pentagram for the service members/individual services, rather there is some version of what we called “BuPers”(Bureau of Personnel) for each branch, and that’s where the records are stored.
Each servicemember will have their own documentation including discharge papers, Leave and Earning statements, DD-214s and/or other things to show their time stop-lossed. Filing with their respective service bureaucracy probably expedites their claim as well as puts it in the system for eventual payment. My biggest concern is their reaching out to vets who are no “hooked up” with someone who can let them know that the benefits are available; there should be no “drop dead date” for filing to ensure that homeless and other vets incapable of meeting that arbitrary deadline get paid.
I know that the Navy has been pushing folks via Facebook to make their claims, so I know that they’re interested in helping sailors get their RSLP in a timely manner.
good night Suz
I’m heading to bed myself.
Good night all
Nite Suz. Since I fell asleep since the last time I refreshed the screen, I think it’s time for me to go too!
Could be, I don’t know what to make of it.
nite Suz!
Taking a chance at the Booby Prize. Thank you, FireDogLake for hosting such incredible dialogues that go on in multi-venue areas, all hours. You are the next generation. I thank you and support you gladly. Initially, I just donated the inflated price we paid for the New York Times in a rural Northwest region. A Fuck The New York Times and the Journalists they rode in with.$5 a week.
Thank you Jane Hamsher, Christie Hardin Smith and Marcy Wheeler.
Wish we could do more. But as we slide down the razor blade of newly unemployed we have horrible options. Aclu $10, FDL $10 + Action calls which ad up, Amnesty International $23.
This is why we need people just like me to get off their ass and get active.
Who would YOU choose for a money cut? Or would you think about a way to resupply those monies?
This is real.
Oh, I need to send sincere thanks to David Dayden .. We were trying to finalize a poster for One Nation Working Together. Had to be done tonight.
We did steal his brilliant opening sentence.
” Next Saturday, on Oct.2nd, a large and diverse coalition of over 200 faith , labor, youth, student and civil rights organizations will mass in Washington D.C. and cities all over the country for One Nation Working Together. ”
We will join in local solidarity at —-Park
12:00 _ 2:00 Food and Community open-mike
March to traditional protest site.optional
And good night.
And after all this shit, there’s a pony in here, right?
