Rendell gives the entire Democratic pitch in about 50 seconds. “We suck less, you suck if you don’t vote for us. If you’re disappointed, get over it. Also, Michele Bachmann.”
Great messaging guys! NOW I’m going to open up my checkbook and canvass and show up in November.
Idiots.

About Firedoglake
Good morning and thanks BT.
How about this for some messaging; Fuck You Ed.
Thanks Ed. You can go back to spying on peace activists. Only next time, be a little more careful so you don’t get caught.
Ed can also go back to hijacking world class art museums.
Hey Ed, how do you know we’re not looking forward to the entertainment of watching a car thief file Articles of Impeachment?
How did TRMS handle it?
“How about this for some messaging; Fuck You Ed.”
I like it. I think every leader of the democratic party needs to go take Marketing 101.
Lesson number 1: “DON’T PISS OFF YOUR CUSTOMERS“.
Lesson number 2: “Don’t piss ON your customers.”
I lived in PA when Ed was DA of Philadelphia. He was a dick then, proving that a leopard never changes his spots.
He sounds a lot like our favorite crossdresser, changing only “9/11! 9/11″ with “Bachmann! Bachmann!”.
This all about laying the groundwork for blaming the Professional Left for losses in the midterms.
Y’know what? I will vote. And since these guys bargained away everything I cared about, I’ll vote Green. It’s not up to me to compromise. It was up to them to deliver on their promises.
Mayor Rendell, you good for nothing sellout, you should be ashamed to call yourself a Philadelphian. On behalf of the thousands of others in the City of Brotherly Love, my hometown, who I am sure feel the same way: go f*ck yourself.
I’m actually feeling better! With this CONSISTENT beat the DFH message, which dovetail beautifully with their policies to appease leiber-scum and steny –
I’m going to PROUDLY write in “public option” or “medicare for all” when I vote, cuz I’m done voting for fucking pathetics. I’m supposed to be elated out here in wishy-warshy Seattle that Jim McDermott and Patty Murray ain’t flat earthers!
but, guess what? how come lieberman & steny can sell us out, and Jim and Patty can’t do shit?
I feel so liberated!
rmm.
Ok so ill defend the Gov (and the best post game analyst for any football team). He is only playing the hand delt to him. He is a democrat who had no part in making the health care bill. But he still has to go out and defend the record, which is alot more than Blanch lincoln has done. He is a good guy with a great and fair record as a governor and mayor.
Rendell’s comments aren’t even worth addressing.
This is just more of the narrative they are setting up that when the Democrats lose, it won’t be because they suck, it will be because the dirty f*cking hippies suck. If they tried, could they be any more transparent?
It’s trying to use political terra to win. But we do have an alternative. We can build an independent progressive movement.
Also from PA here, and agree that his record as governor is respectable. Still no reason to be insulting to those whose support he seeks.
Almost agree with econobuzz @8. The insults are deliberate.
Perhaps progressives should go out and vote Democratic just to spite them!
Good morning all.
Yeah, I figured out the D talking point was “we suck less” last week when I heard Big Dawg on one cspan program and a buncha Clintonistas (‘memeber DeeDee?) on another cspan program. Um, no, they suck; no more or less about it.
On a happy note, I’m awaiting a wine delivery. It includes party champagne for my new neighbors who are celebrating their marriage on 10/10/10. I love providing champagne instead of a wedding gift.
Mornin’, BT, pups
What a dipshit.
This is really a fascinating strategy. Especially when taken with the not too subtle threat yesterday…
I musta missed that. Fill me in.
Ed Rendell is right, not because we should “get over it” but anger without focus is not what we need – just look at the teaparty. Progressives, whether anyone admits it or not, have had a lot of sway over the last 18 months (Elizabeth Warren is a good example). If we allow the dems to lose congress, then we will have lost our ability to influence.
How about this alternative: Organize and vote to keep the dems in power and then continue to hold their feet to the fire! But to just say “fuck them” or “good, they deserve to lose,” think long term.
Ed Rendell, you and Joe can go kiss my ass.
They really don’t get it, do they? From “Hope and Change” to “Vote for us, we’re the other guys are even worse.” That really inspires supporters.
If we had the ability to influence, she’d be more than just a stand-in head of that agency. If we had the power to influence, so many of the idiotic appointments he has made would have been different. Go ahead battered wife.. keep thinking he’ll change.
“Perhaps progressives should go out and vote Democratic just to spite them!”
So we let them ignore us and move on to letting them insult us and we continue to vote for them anyway. We deserve to get crapped on and it will never stop.
Drank quite a bit of the Kool-aid didja?
Caught a snippet of Warren on cnbc this morning, up against Jack Welch. Must say she was brilliant. He didn’t lay a finger on her. Went to make coffee so I missed the post-interview trash session. I did come back quite a bit later and Welch was whining about regs, so I suspect the trash session was still in process.
OT: Anthony DiMaggio makes a valid case for the existence of our illegal warz: military contracting. Manufacturing facilities for military hardware is spread across all the states. Jobs in that industry generate popularity for the local congresspersons and senators, who vote for military appropriations to sustain those jobs. The demand for the product is only sustained if it is used. Hence, the illegal warz. Voters in those states support the warz because they preserve defense industry jobs.
A revolution is needed to change this paradigm.
Dude, the country is circling the crapper. Are you seeing what the rest of us are seeing?
Oilbummer doesn’t even have the health care bill to brag about now with the HMO pond scum trying to get around preexisting conditions.
The Democrats’ first message was, “We don’t suck as much as the other guys do.” When that failed, they went to “We don’t suck but those dirty f*cking hippies do.” I don’t need a garbage scented mailer to smell Rahm Emanuel all over both of them.
you might enjoy “love the way you lie” by eminem and rhinna – it is sick song about sick “relationships”.
IF we vote for people who shit on us AND piss on us AND rip us off,
THEN they’ll stop pissing & shitting on us?
ha ha ha. turn off sesame street, read The Prince or Richard III.
rmm
Yes, congress & the pentagon & the contractors figured out that scheme loooong time ago. They’ve got up encircled.
No news there. Bill Young has been in Congress for close to 40 years because of the defense industry jobs in Pinellas County. The voters are more than willing to ignore the toxic waste Honeywell et al have left behind.
“Progressives, …., have had a lot of sway over the last 18 months…”
I am not convinced that they haven’t just found an out of the way place to park her inside the fence. Wait and see who gets appointed to replace Summers before you get too excited.
From the Summers resignation article on HP:
What a great idea, eCahn!
I think that’s a lovely idea. Who needs more stuff anyway?
Good Morning Everyone
Seems like everyone’s enjoying the full moon.]
So, Get Over It is the new Whatever?
I think that we’re close enough that I owe you a coffee or a muffin or something. :)
It’s only the second time I’m doing it, but the first time made for a very happy party. I also offer party champagne to guests as their first drink when I have a big BBQ. Rarely get any turndowns. Also makes for a great party.
Much as I was turned off by Rendell, I applauded Rachel’s insistence that insurance companies suck and that HCR only sucks a little less than before. She stood her ground on that. Of course, we will soon find out the depth of the suckitude.
Heh. Perhaps we should all bring a small glass of champagne to EMS. Yikes. Some morings.
Stealing ‘suckitude.’ Perfect word for our times.
I’ll provide the champagne. You provide the orange juice. Should work out just fine. Hiccup.
My son is getting married on Saturday — 2nd marriage, to a wonderful woman — and part of my wedding gift will be the brunch on Sunday morning for the out-of-town guests.
I don’t know much about champagne, though. Was planning on Mimosas, but scrapped the idea because it was adding to the complexity with ~50 guests.
democracynow is spending the hour on Mexican drug wars. What a nightmare.
Oh I already stole it from someone else!! Be my guest!
How ’bout tangerine juice. I like it that way. And, it’ll go with the tartness that’s here sometimes. burp.
Yeah, Demi, I hear ya! That’s why PUAC is such a welcome Saturday morning hour!
Strawberries. Ya forgot the strawberries.
Cheers, Molly. I’m so happy for you and for them. 6 kids? Well, they won’t be bored, will they. One big happy.
Yes, mimosas do add complexity & much as I like to drink, I never do before noon, and rarely before the cocktail hour. Despite my comment at 42, I prefer my OJ straight up in the morning. Have a wonderful brunch & entire wedding experience.
Lessee. Demi is in CA, you are in NY, and I’m in Indiana. Gonna be an interstate party!!
You provide the strawberries. Everyone is equal when it comes to erefreshments.
Yep. KarenM seems like a really nice gal. Cute too.
I think Ed Rendell is running for the DNC chair.
As Dear Leader, Rahm Emanuel might be moved to remark: “F-n Re****s.”
That would make sense, in the sense that ‘Ds are too dumb to live.’ (quoting myself)
Nothing like idiot DLC
clonesclowns runnin’ the show.Almost the Brady Bunch (except 4 boys and 2 girls).
Thanks for the good wishes, eCahn and Demi! I might have a Mimosa with brunch, but otherwise it’s (sometimes) wine in the evenings to make Rachel & KO more mellow. LOL.
Maybe I’m not awake enough, or had enough coffee, but someone tell me why I should care who they blame if things go poorly in November.
Sad to see that FDL has been taken over by democratic teapartiers
My political worldview has shifted in the last 18 months. I no longer see the Democrats as the good guys who don’t have the guts to play hardball with the evil Republicans. I now see both parties as evil. What took me so long?
Rahm? Rahm? Is that you?
This is the same Ed Rendell who maintained on The Ed Show that Joe Sestak couldn’t possibly beat Arlen Specter.
If he wants to beat Michele Bachmann, he should get the DCCC to loosen up the pursestrings and send Tarryl Clark some cash. If he wants to avoid John Boehner being Speaker of the House, he should get the DCCC to send Justin Coussoule some cash. Instead of squandering it on every Blue Dog incumbent.
BTW, if you are among the few fortunate to have some dough to contribute, consider using ActBlue to help Billy Kennedy, who is running against Virginia Foxx in NC-05. Digby had his latest YouTube ad up yesterday, which is also on his web site. He is a strong candidate, a progressive talk show host in Boone NC, where Appalachian State University is located, and has a reasonable chance of being able to win. He has folks working on getting out the vote and his supporters do not lack enthusiasm.
Is anyone else watching c-span? Rep. Shirley Jackson Lee is on. I’m wondering if I could get away with one of those big braid crowns. Easy do.
I’ll call whine one one for ya.
I can’t find the link I want, I’ll catch it and get it to you. I’ve missed the entire morning looking for it, but I have done some interesting surfing.
In order to succeed at that, he’ll have to deliver victories in Pennsylvania.
As they say in the vernacular, “The Devil is in the details.” FDL provides plenty of details, whereas the various Tea Party venues clearly do not.
As Uncle Walt would say, “And that’s the way it is…”
giggling…
‘Morning, all.
Henceforth, I propose, that ALL politicians and political “policies” should be rated on the “Suckatude Scale”, invented by msmolly, in response to the genuine need for clarity and honesty, “looking forward”.
Greater and lesser suckatudistic “pols”, “palavers”, and “poop-slingers” should be known and recognized for what they, in fact are … practitioners of slimy, self-serving suckatude.
Up with the word “suckatude” and DOWN with its “practice”.
;~DW
Yeah….look at the wonderful job Kaine has done…. A new LOGO to get the base fired up.
Good morning all. The sad thing is, way too many people are falling for this LOTE crap, and regurgitating it mindlessly.
On a serious note, when O ran a bait ‘n switch campaign, did he really anticipate the base would stay with him because the alternatives suck?
You mean like Kaine did(n’t)?
Does he want the draft so everyone can have fun? It’s only fair, after all.
What a wonderful idea.
I’m not familiar with your tag. Are you new? Don’t let the curmudgeons get you down. Newbies usually have to endure a bit of a tough time until people get to know you. And then, even after that you have to wear your shields on some days.
Suckatude scale goes from -1 to -100?
Like all conservatives, he scratches his head and wonders why the Democratic base isn’t as mindless as the Republican automatons. Hey! Obama! If we were mindless like them we would be Republicans. Moron.
Especially newbies who come along spraying insults right off the mark.
Don’t forget the zippy slogan.
We don’t yet know where the “bottom” is, but you’ve got the “right” direction, me thinks, eCAHN.
DW
The party is at their house, which is quite small for 200 people, so the weather better be good so we can be outside. When I attend most weddings, they are usually too formal for my taste, without enough champagne. My small contribution to better parties.
I already have. Wasn’t it more prattle about “change” or something?
That’s my impression, i.e, they are genuinely surprised we’ve turned our backs on them.
A winning formula.
You are insulting the thread good guy and sweetheart….you know nothing of what you speak. (Let alone a fine Vet, you insult)
I’ve already forgotten, that’s how memorable it was.
Here’s the real problem as I see it. (Apologies because I’ve written this on previous threads.)
If we polled Ds, the overwhelming majority would favor a strong public option with the savings going to increasing SS benefits and lowering the retirement age. If the same folks were asked is this the kind of change they expected from Obama, the overwhelming majority would answer “yes.” If the same folks were asked, would a firm promise to pursue that policy against all the obstacles in the next two years likely keep the House and Senate in D hands, the majority would answer “yes” again. (Of course, they would need some guarantees, given the number of times they’ve been lied to.)
Now consider that Obama refuses to even promise to at least pursue such a wildly popular proposal. Or ask Rendell to help him spread that message. Therein lies the problem.
They’ve decided that whatever is going to happen will happen. They will make absolutely NO promises at this point. So all this punching of DFH is designed ONLY to set us up for the blame when the shit hits the fan.
” … did he really anticipate the base would stay with him …”
He brought so many new young and minority voters to the polls that he thought he wouldn’t need the base. This worked so well that 800k stayed home in the Massachusetts senate race.
I didn’t think the first comment was an insult. Eh, just me.
A bit of news: Dell Children’s Hospital is hiring & having a job fair; don’t know details.
OK it is Suckitude™ (that’s a trademark symbol but it’s pretty tiny)
On edit: I guess it’s bigger when the comment appears.
As I say to the Republican Borg Collective and Obamabots, I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.
“If we were mindless like them we would be Republicans”
ROFLMAO
[edited by moderator] Is that better?
[Mod note: Please do not insult other commenters. Thank you.]
What does, “We’ve been hiding behind shower curtains” mean?
“a little disappointed over this, a little disappointed over that…”. You haven’t been listening, Ed. We’re more than a “little disappointed”. You don’t “get over” being raped. Repeatedly, just because some clown (you) makes disparaging whiny faces on TV. Nothing less than a big F You is in order here for you as a reply to your comments.
I didn’t listen to Ed Rendell last time I voted. I’m not going to start listening to him now. And I sure as hell am not going to get angry about this. In Wisconsin, the choices are clear. Barrett for Governor is an excellent choice, not even considering his Republican competition. Likewise, Feingold is an excellent choice for Senator. So, it turns out I’ll be voting for two Democratic candidates here on November 2nd.
If the best candidates wherever we live are Democrats, then they should get our votes. Ignore Ed Rendell. Ignore Obama. Just vote for the better candidates. And yes, of course, we must vote. Doesn’t matter how ignorant, how tone-deaf some of the Democratic spokespeople are.
It is Rahm!
New post up top…
Okay, okay. Maybe I was giving you the benefit of the doubt, but, now you’ve lost me.
But the new voters became part of the progressive base because of the promises O made. AND, they are the least likely to stick with someone who disappoints, being more idealistic than us older jaded folks. (I made that up, but guessing it’s got a chance of being true.)
And, not a minute too soon.
….
And, Hey There, DW! Been missing your brand of curmudgenlyness. :)
“Democratic teapartiers” isn’t insulting to you? I missed the second comment, the moderator got to it before I did but that’s what happens when you defend trolls.
Or possibly a White House staffer. You know they lurk.
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.
US KIA Afghanistan: 1,302
US KIA Irak: 4,421
Iraki and Afghan casualties: estimates vary to over 1.5M
US MBS 2010: 32,860 and counting
What If You Knew
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things
Namaste
Actually I’m preparing for it now. Thanks though.
He obviously didn’t anticipate the f@*cking ret*rds.
1) Sometimes I’m not as easily offended or insulted.
2) I need clarification. Which second comment, mine or his? Can’t see something that’s not there.
Great….good luck.
His second comment, (actually third as I missed the first one). The one the moderator moderated.
Good luck Margaret.
Cool. Sending you postive and productive outcome vibes.
Me likey. Lets go with it.
I didn’t consider it insulting. I considered it ignorant.
Oh. I missunderstood. I thought you were saying I was defending trolls.
Far out.
Maybe the Dems should hire you to do a “Seriously,We’re Really Listening” get-together, for them … for a better party and all that?
Of course they are a ways down the suckatude scale, battin’ about a thousand, looks like.
Might take more than bubbly … however. Hmmmm …
On second thought, probably you shouldn’t associate with Dem at all, eCAHN, just becuz, well ‘cuz sometimes suckatude is all that some folks can muster, change takes a spine, and the one thing suckatude really ain’t, ever, is courageous, but it’s always dangerous. It bites back, nasty stuff, and like greed, it ain’t “good”.
;~D
Ignorant and insulting is one thing, but I have a low tolerance of downright rude. That’s where I draw the line, cut bait and let people spin on their own.
I hope you have a good one. ((SD))
Glad you did that, msmolly. Trademark is sacred. Like property./s
Congrats to your son, and the very best wishes to you and yours.
DW
So right on that one.
But, the underlying mission is to destroy the Left once and for all.
It’s the groundwork for treating us as persona non grata in the future.
Please give an alert when such a pic is posted….Ugh.
I agree with the comments– insulting voters is one straaange way to try to get them to vote for you. The only explanation I can give (and this is just a guess) is that their polls show the number of progressives who will not vote Democratic because they can no longer stomach their policies is small. The danger is that the progressives will become a movement, attracting more and more of the dissatisfied. If they attempt to answer the arguments of progressives it will only give them status and increase the possibility others will follow. So they heap scorn on them. I bet they wish Nader was in the mix and are finding a hard time identifying who is on the “professional left”. This all seems incredibly stupid. You would think it would be so much simpler to take a position on a policy that progressives like, just throw them a damn bone.
I honestly am baffled at their “strategy”. I wonder whether they are setting things up so they can blame the liberals after they lose, as many of the comments suggest. Well, they didn’t do that with Massachusetts, as far as I can remember. Isn’t it just accepted wisdom though that many Democrats just don’t vote in the midterms unless there is a good reason?
As SD has taught us, I’m off to swim in the capitalist cesspool.
I didn’t see it last night. When TRMS began, I saw the direction it was headed, so I switched over to watch Kyle Broflovski destroy his Facebook profile. MUCH better for my mood.
In all seriousness, no snark intended, are we all pretty much in agreement about the pattern we’ve seen (vote for us you DFHs or we’ll blame you for it and btw we’re gonna blame you anyway) and what that pattern means? (the Democratic Party leaders are knowingly moving the party to the right in an attempt to win some disenfranchised moderate/lib Republicans, or because their are just unbelievably stupid)
I know there’s a bit more to it. I don’t want to overestimate the general intelligence level of the Democratic Party leaders.
I guess you guys want a pony, too.
I agree with you that they intend to treat us as persona non grata in the future. When did this all start in the Democratic Party? Was it when Clinton was the nominee or was it before then? It is such a shame that they have morphed into the Republicans of old.
Probably most here agree with your sentiment. IF the best candidate where I vote is a Dem, I will certainly vote for them. Otherwise, I’ll either write in “Public Option,” vote third party, or not vote at all in particular race.
That said, the continuing drumbeat of insults from Dems across the spectrum is insulting, aggravating, stupid, tone-deaf, and frankly, unnecessary. Frankly Dims of all sorts/stripes are behaving like a bunch of clowns and are doing themselves no favors. Rendell succeeds only in diminishing himself, the frackin Dem party, looks like an incompetent LOSER, and is rude. Really, really pathetically dumb. Dims: snatching defeat from the jaws of victory as usual.
Go back to PA, Ed, and shut up until you come up with a more enlightening message.
Kaine was DNC chair before he lost Virginia.
Hopefully this time someone has the smarts to see if they are a winner first.
It started when “liberal” became a dirty word and Democrats started to duck and cover. It was accelerated when a bunch of endangered Southern Democrats started the Blue Dog caucus and became institutional with the founding of the DLC.
The possibility that the Democrat Party leaders are dumb would explain a lot. George W. Bush beat them twice. Enough said. They’re so bad they even got people ready to vote for a party (the Republicans) that plans to cut their entitlements.
Morphed? Google “Scoop Jackson”
How about “No”.
democrats: the lesser of two sucks
and just so we are clear, we are the people. Either represent us, and our interests, or shut up and get out of the way.
Actually more and more people are realizing how the two parties are just one business party working for the Predatory Class. As the Depression deepens, more will wake up–and that’s scares the shit out of the Dems.
In a sense, I understand why Obama loves the right wing–he’s aligned with them and he really, really hates authentic leftists. But all rich elites do. It’s what they’re about.
We can only hope the left movement will grow. And I think it will because Obama is wedded to neoliberal austerity and that is and will always be a failed ideology, impoverishing more and more people. Obama’s blind dogmatism to corporate capitalism will create a new, wonderful left movement.
Crossing my fingers….
Clinton sold out to corporate interests to get elected.
He accomplished things Poppy Bush wanted but couldn’t get done.
It’s been downhill from there for the Dems. Both parties went into high gear to serve their corporate masters. Problem for the Dems was maintaining a populist charade while sticking it to us behind the scenes.
Having it both ways worked for a while, not anymore. Thanks to all the greedy, power mad, traitors, they’ve brought the country to it’s knees.
“Democrat Party” is a tell of a Republican. Did you really mean to do that?
Look,
If the GOP are going to issue investigation after investigation, then the Dems better start moving fast on their GOP investigations.
I want to know why so much has been so quiet about Jack Abramoff? I cannot believe he is out of a security facility and as for his corruption and illegal activity, we have heard very little.
The GOP are just as corrupt. Such a threat to Dems is stupid.
“… they are the least likely to stick with someone who disappoints ..”
Note my reference to the Mass Senate Race. I was making an observation on their line of thinking, not implying that it was correct.
No whats sad is Obama has betrayed every campaign promise he made. Whats sad is he thinks we won’t ever leave him…when we are already gone.
FDL was not taken over by Tea Baggers is that the new Dem talking point? FDL refuses to vote for Obama or any Dem who sold us out on healthcare, jobs, housing etc its the Blue Dogs that are in the most trouble Progressive Dems are doing fine.
Obama and the Dems would be winning right now if they were more Progressive.
So there’s a real history of this in the Democratic Party and the beginnings of neo-conservative thinking perhaps. Interesting.. Although in Jackson’s defense, he was an early supporter of the Civil Rights Act (wikipedia).
Nooooo!!!!!! I didn’t Oh my God! That is strange that I said that. Ugh! Soon I’ll be saying “refudiate that”
Yes, indeed. What infuriates me are repeated requests from Democrats that I talk to for me to prove that Obama wants to cut SS, as an example. These are intelligent people who criticized Bush for doing what Obama is doing. Are they unreachable or do progressives have to develop some way to penetrate their resistance and educate them? I live in an overwhelmingly Democratic area with a progressive rep who caved repeatedly to the banksters, Obama, Pharma and their ilk in his votes. He is running in two parties for re-election. I plan to write in public option, or similar.
I am afraid that if the Republicans win the House (and God forbid the Senate) this will make the possibility of a liberal movement less likely. The Democrats who are left standing will adopt even more Republican positions (if that is possible). Or, they will use the fact that they are no longer in the majority as an excuse for passing even worse bills.
(As an aside, I’m vegan too.)
I also have to say, the thought of a GOP Congress going after Rahm and Obama with a blizzard of subpoenas…..brings me nothing but a feeling of pure, unadulterated joy. Rendall talks about it, and I perk up. “Really?!”
Seeing that Obama the narcissist laid low by impeachment….couldn’t think of something that would make me happier.
“…an installment of vengeance; a pattern of justice was being traced…”
- John Updike
The liberal movement has to wait. The first item on the agenda is teaching the Dems that when you punch the DFH’s, we punch back.
your fear is what the democrats are counting on, just like the republicans use on their people. Resist fear and stand up!
I fear the mindless Obamabots. I know what I will get from the Republicans.
Vegan in arms! Cool!
No, I think that the Depression will deepen the unhappiness on the left, whether or not the Repugs get in. People are really pissed and I don’t think some bogeyman will do it this time.
Yes, as a party Democrats won’t give you what you need or want. But Republicans won’t give you that either. Sure, we’ve been a disaster. But it’s important to point out that we haven’t been an unmitigated disaster. So vote Democrat, because honestly, we’re afraid of being investigated.
Wow.
Rendell needs to acknowledge the fact that Rachel and Ed were willing to throw the public option under the bus in a New York minute…now that’s loyalty.
What an ingrate…!
blah blah blah blah blah….
I suppose its ok for you guys to bitch, piss and moan but when Rendell tells you to get over it…you go ape shit.
blah blah blah blah blah
“So vote Democrat, because honestly, we’re afraid of being investigated.”
Finally…a campaign slogan with resonance.
Yeah–Rendell. The same guy investigating activists. I’m going to listen to that gravelly-voiced authoritarian hack. You think I have a “kick me” sign on my back?
I was wondering the same thing.
I have not been able to watch her show for some time.
I know she’s well revered around here, but her blind cheer-leading, imo, makes her complicit to the many bad, VERY bad policies being forced on us.
We were:
1) Lied to.
2) Told to STFU
3) Insulted
4) Told to Get Over It.
Seeing as how we have self respect and principles (look it up)….we’ve left the Democrats behind.
Yup. And kick, too.
At least if there’s a blood bath in November , it will no longer be politically expedient to shut up about the deconstruction of basic rights !
I don’t want to live in a quasi police state with health care !
I want my rights back !!!
If the democrats can’t stand up for that then they are little different from their fascist cousins in the republican party !
On the same day House Republicans will release their new governing document, former President Bill Clinton advised Democrats to issue their own written agenda that contains policy ideas before November the midterm elections.”
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/120461-bill-clinton-dems-should-issue-their-own-governing-document
I agree , put my civil liberties and basic rights at the top of the list and I will spend the rest of the time between now and the election attempting to get you all elected .
Other wise , I will consider the fact that both republicans and democrats are essentially two sides of the same evil and work to educate the American public about our descent into fascism with all my energies !
Your choice democrats , your running out of time !!!
I used to watch Maddow frequently. She was good in the final months of Bush. Now she ignores just about everything that Obama does that mirrors Bush. In a narrow group of issues, such as DADT, she is excellent. She is very intelligent, so maybe she will get better. I doubt it.
“You screwed up. You trusted us!”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOXtWxhlsUg
Go look at Obama’s campaign website. The quickly disappearing original version. You’ll find plenty of civil rights blather on there. All completely ignored during his two year term. Nothing written or spoken by these grifters is to be believed.
Even with her DADT reporting, she seems to give Obama and the Ds a pass simply by omission, as she fiercely places the blame on the republicans who, last I heard, are the majority party!
Edit: Then again, as I said, I don’t watch her but for an occasional few minutes here and there, so I could be wrong.
I, for one, AM over it. And, by the way, when will C Streeter Coburn be charged with aiding and abetting a crime?…to wit: Ensign
I stand corrected jake .
But note that now that the democrats are under electoral pressure , Summers leaves, Warren is appointed , Rahm is rumored to be leaving leaving and dadt and the dream act come up in the senate .
Coincidence ? I think not .
Brinksmanship is about the only card we have to play as near as I can tell without taking to the streets .
Yes, she is curiously reluctant to analyze any of Obama’s policies or actions. I rarely watch her now so I think I was too generous with the word “excellent.”
We may be democratic champagne partiers, but not tea partiers.
To what? For what? We’ll see, but if past performance is indicative of future results…..I expect nothing of value from her. If she weren’t neutered, somehow, she wouldn’t be there.
I agree jake , wholeheartedly , but it is still possible I believe , while the democrats are fighting for their own political survival to dangle a carrot in front of their noses ,progressive support .
I do realize ,Warren’s appointment is not permanent , dadt and the dream act wasn’t passed but provides them political cover without them actually having to solve a problem which as a cultural wedge issue allows them to run as the good guys to their constituency and the people that replace these guys are likely to be as bad or worse than the people they’re replacing !

You want our donations…nope, get over it.
You want our vote…nope, get over it.
You lose big in November…too bad, get over it.
You lose your next re-election…too bad, get over it.
Republicans pushing you around when they take over Congress and impeach Obama…too bad, get over it.
They don’t seem to grasp that it’s their own jobs on the line. There aren’t too many folks who’ll believe it’s raining when you constantly piss down their backs.
Oh I’m over it all right Ed. Fuck you too buddy. I’m voting Republican for every office to punish your asshole party. Cleaning house is the only way we are gonna get rid of people like YOU.

If you think the dems piss all over you, just wait. You guys deserve every inch of what’s coming. You don’t know how bad it’s going to get. Get ready for President Palin.
Argument-free talking points.
Exactly what I expect from D loyalists these days.
I must have missed the news about the 2010 Presidential election.
