Oh sure, I could post a few more wisecracks about Christine O’Donnell and how she thinks evolution isn’t true because we would have developed oven-mitts for hands (speaking of mittens). However, all the good masturbation jokes always get used up in the first ten to fifteen minutes and then I lose interest fast. Besides, the real irony of her victory is it caused Chris Matthews to self-pleasure live on tv (sad really, as “Whack Off Live” is already a show on FoxNews)
Instead, let’s have some real legitimate outrage, international edition. Somebody has observed Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck and evolved their outrage for profit model up a notch:
Holocaust denier David Irving will begin leading tours of the former Nazi death camps of Auschwitz and Treblinka next week.
The British historian is also scheduled to lead a group of American and British tourists in the former Warsaw ghetto. His tour brochure promises an experience far removed from the “tourist attractions of Auschwitz”. He will charge the tour participants $2,650 each.
For those of you unfamiliar with who Irving is, Worst Human on the Planet may be too insignificant a title.

About Firedoglake
That guy would make a unique hood ornament.
Charles P. Pierce is a writing god. That is all.
Didn’t Rayguns do the tourist thing there?
Good morning, pups. It’s Collins and Kristof today. In “Mr. Smith Goes to Anchorage” Ms. Collins says taxpayer rage has, of course, been the rule in Republican primaries lately. But it was hard to predict that the fury would spread to Alaska, a state that has virtually no taxes. Mr. Kristof writes about “A Boy and a Bicycle(s).” Remember Abel, the boy who needed a bike? Well, he got one, and tens of thousands of others may as well.
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got waffles with warm maple syrup. Anyone who could even conceive of the possibility of putting the words “tourist attractions” next to Auschwitz is no longer fully human. Unbelievable. Have a great day.
Well, look.
Conservatives believe they were created in the likeness of God.
Liberals believe they are descendants of pond scum.
I believe both groups are correct.
Liberals are still having a problem wrapping their little minds around the fact that the Tea Party is a grass roots organization of common, working Americans. There are hundreds of times more of these people than there are pointy head Liberals. Live with it.
The Tea Party did not take hold until Obama started to push his agenda and Nancy Pelosi pushed hers. People saw that and are rebelling.
I believe that all government is evil, and that trying to improve it is largely a waste of time.
H. L. Mencken
Can a Marty Peretz-led New Republic cruise to the beaches of Gaza be far off?
Geez, what kinda motherfucking asshole would go on a tour of Auschwitz with David Irving?
Ah, the first troll of the day… (I certainly don’t mean you, allan.)
Thanks for the insight but that’s enough bullshit this early in the morning.
Does God act like a jackass?
Good morning all.
Just heard that Michelle O hates her job: “It’s hell,” according to a new book. Head on Wash Journal.
That could explain my impression that O doesn’t like being prez very much.
Bird brain, you can feel free to burst into flames whenever you’d like. Nobody does it better than Charles P. Pierce. Except Driftglass.
Happy wife = happy life
Sumpin’ like that.
Occasion was apparently Sarkozy dinner where his wife was saying that he was thinking of being a one-termer then going on to make money like Tony Blair. Would also be consistent with my impression that’s what O really wants to do.
Blair part is also consistent with very very very long ago undercover reporting by Greg Palast that Blair was nothing but a corp whore. He posed as a lobbyist and offered some scuzzy deal which was promptly jumped on by Blair admin. IIRC, that was all the way back in the 90s and I read about it maybe 8 years ago, so the details are no longer with me.
Here’s my outrage….
There are so many of us here on this board who are sick to death about how the reich wing has taken over this country (both Dem & Rep parties) and yet we have no voice, us leftists, in the national discourse. There are more of us than the tea baggers and yet we get no press. I am fucking sick of it.
Every fucking day goddamned NPR has another story about the tea baggers–who they are, they’re background. Did the corporate media ever give us this much attention back in 2003 when we were in the streets a million strong?
I am sick and fucking tired of the double standard. We need to get in their faces, man.
(end of rant)
TPers have a lot of corp money & organizing & media (these days if you hadn’t noticed no one on air sez anything their corp masters wouldn’t approve of) behind them. Progressives have none. That explains the diff.
We are. And they don’t know what to do.
The balance between pushing their agenda and losing the value of their investments is tipping, VR. If nobody buys their papers or magazines or watches their video, their investments are worthless. And cash usually wins in the end.
Turn off the squawk box. Stop buying crap. And push for a constitutuional amendment to limit corporate personhood. Every day, single issue, like prohibition or the NRA. The rest will eventually follow.
There is a march scheduled in D.C. on October 2. Sponsored by a number of unions and promoted by Ed Schultz. Aside from Schultz I haven’t heard any “progressive” commentator or the “usual” “progressive/leftwing” blogs have anything to say about it.
The Tea Party’s origins predate Obama and were libertarian, but the Koch brothers co-opted and Astroturfed the movement. They kept it from becoming a true separate party, instead choosing to push its adherents into the arms of the GOP: To get Koch funding, TP candidates must not only promise to run as Republicans, but to back the Republican party platform to the hilt.
Got any info or links on it?
And one of them is in hot water for his employees’ having gone a wee bit too far. Even with stitched-up police and millions in hush money, the truth is coming out and heads are poised to roll.
Is that job the one of carrying out the official duties of the first lady, or is it that she is married to someone who has OK’d assassination, torture and “droning,” innocent civilians? IOW, not the same man she partnered with going into this?
I was wondering just this morning how a spouse of mine would feel toward me if I let myself get away with those kinds of actions and tried to justify it in any way to her. Has got to be creating some marital tensions.
elpasobirdman @ 5,
Sorry to burst your bubble, but there is no Tea Party. These are merely GOP loose cannon nutcases gone amok. What alternative policies would the Tea Party implement to deal with the following:
Ending the American imperial foreign policy and by extension the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Colombia, Horn of Africa, etc.
Ending the outsourcing of American jobs
Ending the Wall Street Banker Bailouts
Ending the crushing national debt that American taxpayers are burdened with
Ending the outrageous undemcoratic rule of election and government by big money interests
Ending the abuse of government and law enforcement power that harms many people in America and around the world daily
Ending the abysmal, decadent, and corrupt judiciary that now sets in stone much of the criminal government policy of the executive and legislative branches at the federal, state, and local level: Does the Patriot Act, kidnapping and torture (rendition) summary execution and mass murder of the innocent without trial (Predator Drones), lifetime caging without trial like zoo animals (Gitmo, Secret CIA Prisons) etc. ring any bells?
Yes, it would be truly interesting to see what the Ghengis Khan, off the reservation wing of the Republican Party (tea party wannabes) really thinks of these things…………..
Good, Phoenix, expose the so-called Tea Party (in its current incarnation) for what it really is, a totally paid for subsidiary of the Republican Party…………….
