Gosh, this whole election year has been a race to the bottom has it not? Both parties vying to give themselves the least chance of winning.

I hate to accept that there are so many voters so ignorant and primitive to vote for these candidates. However there are. And I suspect it is not just in these few states but widespread as of and in the conditions of today.

But I have to say I am struggling with not succumbing to the notion that the corporate government is so vile and corrupted that it won’t make a bit of difference who is voted into office and control of Congress — unless they are so extreme and alienated from the mainstream of our culture. The Tea Party GOPers fall into that category and some sympathy can be felt with those who vote for them.

Until authentic liberal progressives candidates as alienated from the mainstream DLC Democrats appear, to repeat, I really see not a lot of difference on who gains control.

The GOP’s Tea Party wing was supposed to be this pretend-independent party (that somehow only ran candidates as Republicans and had to agree to uphold the GOP platform in order for the Koch money to flow) that would allow Republicans to offload their justified public reps for racism and bigotry onto an “independent” group that in reality was designed to be about as independent of the GOP as the infamous Bantustans were independent of apartheid-era South Africa.

They weren’t supposed to actually act like a real party that’s capable of electing real candidates, but to simply get the GOP base riled up enough to boost turnout. But a boosted GOP primary turnout isn’t helpful when the GOP vote is grievously, irreconcilably split between two or more candidates.

OT, but when did “concerning” become an adjective? I wonder about these things when I listen to “news”.

But if O’Donnell and/or Angle (or others) win, the PTB will pay them handsomely to toe the GOP party line. And they will bc the T-party line is NOT that different from from the GOP party line. Their stated “goals” are pretty similar.

Vice President Joe Biden beat O’Donnell by over 29. That’s a near-40% shift. Now O’Donnell wouldn’t ring up the margin as Castle — but Delaware isn’t an automatic reverting back to the Democrats.

Team Blue is delusional if they think otherwise. People in this country are really pissed — and even Team Red has underestimated just how bad it is.
