You may want to save up as the economy isn’t too great and it is not getting better very soon. The eleventh of September has quickly become the day when the right-wing gets over that shame Americans had from about the mid-sixties until November 2008, when some of us may have been awfully ignorant and bigoted but we didn’t express great pride in it.

About Firedoglake
Would you believe I actually saw this on Saturday?
You wouldn’t? Oh…..OK.
E Pluribus Unum is now a subversive, anti-American statement to one political party. Strange days indeed.
We should burn an American flag every Sept. 11 and July 4–to remind ourselves what America is really about.
Good morning, pups. Life is good. Let us sing psalms of thanksgiving — The Pasty Little Putz is off today. Prof. Krugman, in “China, Japan, America,” says Japan knows that its economy is hurt when China buys up its bonds. It’s the same for our economy, but our policy makers just don’t get it.
Here he is.
The coffee and tea are ready, the cold drinks are in the fridge, and the biscuits are out of the oven. Let’s hope that the rest of the week lives up to this auspicious start. Have a great day.
These thoughts is what we are all about. If you stand up for freedom of thought and religion, freedom from tyranny, freedom from hate. If you stand up for freedom from crazy wars, freedom to have a business, freedom to have a voice, freedom to have health care, freedom to be …..free. Then do something about it and stand up to these asss holes that are standing up against those they hate.. do you know an old person? do you know a Veteran? Stand up !
The 911 ping pong balls should have teabagger hats. But at least they’re wearing those pants. That’s critical. After all, Bush did say, “All right. You’ve covered your ass, now.”
The Crazy is out in full
Newt can always be trusted to day something awfully racial or bigotted. He don’t care, his core admirers love him for it.
America, heal thyself before it’s too late….
So Krugman is saying our present policies are good for corporate america but not good for the people of america. Of course, as the american policy makers are owned by corporate america, why should this be a surprise.
A counter coup is needed but that will not happen, the country is fucked and being fucked over.
Right winger minions celebrate and revel in ignorance. Ignorance is a badge of honor. They know even less than the original “Know-Nothings.”
Swim is up…
Give us a warning…ugh.
I think the real question is not only where did these hateful lunatics come from but what is the technology they used to bridge the gap between alternate universe. The America seem to remember doesn’t quite resemble the one from our timeline.
They are being financed by very, very rich people who want us to be distracted by the colorful antics of the low-level grunt workers while the real powers do the real damage to America.
It has always been thus. The Klan, whose membership is drawn largely from poor and working-class whites, gets all the media attention, yet they were and are just the cannon fodder for the “uptown Klan”, meaning the various sovereignty commissions and the Council of Conservative Citizens (formerly the White Citizens’ Council).
Similarly, the Tea Partiers’ trailer-park residents are the ones who get on TV, but the real powers are guys like Dick Armey and the billionaire Koch brothers.
Exactly. I “get it” that some Tea Partiers don’t think they’re being astroturfed, but the corporate-owned rightwing media (corm) promotes the Tea Party and their various rallies at every opportunity. That promoting doesn’t come for free; it’s being funded by the Koch’s and others of that ilk.
The Tea Party people may indeed pay their own way to these rallies (and pay for their own tickets to see the Glenn ‘n Sarah show), but they don’t realize the related costs to run some of the bigger rallies, in terms of permits, perhaps equipment rentals (the people to set up & tear down), etc.
This stuff doesn’t “just happen” much as the Tea Partiers might want to believe it. It’s being “managed” quite well behind the scenes. The more these people are engaged in ranting about nonsense like “socialism” and how the “far left is ruining the country,” the less they are likely to see and realize who is really ripping them off.
Twas ever thus, but the corm is capable of focusing attention on this like never before.
