Just got polled for the Governor’s race. Might have caused some head scratching when I said that I think of Democrats as “conservative” and Republicans as “very conservative”. Same with Obama vs McCain. I did say that I thought of Bill White as “moderate” but that’s as far left as my assessments went, except when describing myself.

Castle will lose in a rigged election in Delaware just as Murkowski did in Alaska. Can’t discount the “Tea Party Express” when it has ready cash for the unverifiable voting machine operators, and timid opponents unwilling to challenge the results.

Krugman is spot on as usual but by what’s good for “us”, these days doesn’t mean the United States. That means the corporations and the fat cats that run the United States. Who cares what’s good for us? We’re just the little people.

Mornin’, BT, pups

From Krugman:

So this is a good time to remember that what’s good for multinational companies is often bad for America, especially its workers.

That sentence alone tells us what Geithner et al will do.

Very relaxing. And, we even played tourists a bit. Went one day up to Morro Bay and looked at that big old rock. Learned it was a volcanic plug and another day went through the museum at the San Luis Obispo Mission. Cool beans.
Did I miss anything extraordinary?

Maybe that would help him politically but I would rather him behave like a progressive instead of just making noises like one.

Spammers are getting more imaginative. Now they are lifting my resume’ from monster.com and taking my last job title and “offering” me the same position. Only when you click on the website, it’s just another fake “employment agency” that will find you a job for the low, low price of $______.__. People who prey on the unemployed and desperate should be shot. Or sent to Somalia.

From the Gingrich link above:

D’Souza concluded, “Incredibly, the U.S. is being ruled according to the dreams of a Luo tribesman of the 1950s. This philandering, inebriated African socialist, who raged against the world for denying him the realization of his anticolonial ambitions, is now setting the nation’s agenda through the reincarnation of his dreams in his son.”

WTF?

No, they take your money and for some reason the “right job” just never seems to come along. Some offer for a period of time and when that’s up they want more money. Just money down a rat hole from the get go.

At church yesterday, our pastor got up and talked about the whole Q’uran Burning news. In a nutshell, he said that those who planned to do that were just plain stupid. He might have said Idiots, but I forget which word he used.

It’s just spam demi. Just designed to separate the gullible and desperate from the tiny amount of money they still have. It has nothing to do with “qualified applicants” because they aren’t offering “jobs”, just some fantasy. It has the same chance of success as prayer but it costs money.

I get a kick over the endless speculation that he would have a chance running for president. Yeah, maybe in another universe. As long as people are aware that he was carrying on an affair and demanded one wife tolerate it and then served divorce papers on another wife while she was recovering from cancer surgery, he doesn’t stand a chance. It’s like the quitter. I stand a better chance of being president than she does.

When I get a job and no longer need a valid resume’ online, I’m going to put up a fake resume’ with “snake charmer” or something equally or more ridiculous at the top and wait for “offers” from “agencies” who have no end of snake charmer positions for the low, low price of $____.__. Then I’m going to forward them to the AG. Not that I think anything will be done but I have to try.

who cares about this multinational worker crap! let ‘em eat cake!

we all care about “tax cuts” cuz that is what the fascists want us focused on, therefore ‘our’ fascist obliging Dim-0-Fuck $ell 0ut$ and political incompetents will oblige the fascists!

Given how stunningly incompetent the Dim-0-Fuck$ are at beating the lies of the thieves, AND, given how craven and how cowardly this congress has been (thanks Nancy, Steny & Harry!) – I don’t believe that we’re going to get any beneficial-to-the-bottom-90%-class policies outta these sell outs in the next 7 weeks.

We will get $old out some more, and we’ll get a bunch of bluster and a bunch of lies AND, of course, the obligatory blame-the-DFHs for keeping tens of millions of voters home.

Not directly related to Geithner, but certainly some iconic “US” labeled manufacturers…

Harley-Davidson workers under threat of the company leaving for cheaper labor pastures, vote on contract reductions and significant hiring of part-time and casual labor today. Sub-Zero, Madison, WI, high end, designer appliances, workers already took 20% pay and benefit cuts under similar threats.

And, Peg, I’ve heard that anger is healthier than depression, so at least you’ve got that going. Find a project for the day. Any weeds need pulled?

From the article re Dumb & Dumberer:

“(To) know why we are an exceptional nation, know why we never have to apologize for being Americans,” Palin told the cheering crowd.

Everything about these 2 charlatans is irritating, but this is among the top 5 annoying things… it’s kind of like that stupid book “Love Story,” where the dying wife says: “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.” What a load of …. (fill in the blank).

Meanwhile:

– Andrew Breitbart admits it: “I tricked you.” Shirley Sherrod’s attorney ought to find this interesting.

– Rupert Murdoch’s people caught wiretapping phones of Brits they don’t like. One wonders if they’ve tried it on Americans they don’t like?

“Love means never having to say you’re sorry.”

There’s a scene in “What’s Up, Doc?” in which Steisand uses that line and Ryan O’Neal (who also starred in “Love Story”) has the appropriate response, “That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”
