I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the news that I am going to be a grandma than with a cartoon set to music. Precious Pupp and Granny Sweet set to Jan and Dean – Little Old Lady From Pasadena.

Not yet, they want to plan the wedding around their grandparents, and how well they can get around. Let’s talk Hagley Museum for a wedding venue. Hey! I grew up here! Wilmington, Delaware.
The heat wave is over, now we’re back to more seasonal temps from tomorrow …
Howz you, Suz ?
And so you should! Babies, families,oh, make me cry.

Tail end of the Dry season, start of our Wet season… The only two seasons here…! *sigh*
It’s nice to hear about new life and babies.
*heh* So ya expect snow any day now…? ;-)
Suzanne. You’re going to teach so many of us what it’s like to be a grandma!! Look forward to your lessons. Hearty Congratulations!!!
i’m doing well petro. portland got a buttload of rain but i only had a few drops — just enough to leave spots on the windows. tis starting to cool down into some fine sleeping weather and feels like fall is already here.
Wowsers!!! Congrats, CE!
hey spocko — how ya doing tonight?
thanks loohoo — how’s socal tonight?
Don’t laugh, Alberta got some snow last week and they’re running the furnaces already. We’ll be mid- 20′s for the next month, going into an incredible autumn.

hey ed — how ya doing tonight?

So happy for you and Mr. CE! My brother is in the same happy spot. So nice to see!
Thanks, love!
I really love being here as well. It makes my heart swell.
It was scorching hot all summer … too hot to bake, so we’ll be baking twice as much this Fall. *g*
Loo Hoo, I always need to sit by you.
The best part of grandkids is the fact you’re able to hand ‘em back…! ;-)
Love is old, Love is new, Love is All!
and ya get to always be the good guy instead of the parental unit that disciplines them.
Alas…especially when they have little gifts in their diapers!!!
that’s a great forking video dood
grandparents
Suzanne…is Jen gonna do the ultrasound to determine lil girl or guy?
Congrats, granny dudette. You’ve worked hard for this moment!
great Cosby skit and rings with reality… :–)
thanks teddy — she’s gonna be a wonderful mother! how ya doing dood?
Teddy !
she said that she wants to know — not sure of what procedure they will use.
That too…! The better half is anxious to be one already…! I told her it wouldn’t be too long when the Middle’un came home late last nite, with muffler burns…! She gave me the lQQk…! ;-)
Goodnight all! Another day and Suzanne — my best, grandma!
amazing how effective the lQQk is *g*
Such a great video!! Thank you, gotta tweet.
LOL … you’re like Shakespeare, with the prose … *g*
G’nite CE !
g’nite and thanks ce
some sage sayings:
Grandparents are there to help the child get into mischief they haven’t thought of yet.
If I would have known that grandchildren were going to be so much fun I would have had them first
Grandparents are similar to a piece of string – handy to have around and easily wrapped around the fingers of their grandchildren.

G’nite Christine…sweet dreams
grandpa
Today in Trader Joe’s a grandmother and small baby boy were gigling nose to nose eyes lit and joy eliciting from each in turn as they sent ecstatic energy back and forth like a tennis match. I caught myself and walked away…they were oblivious of the other shoppers… amazing relationship.
grandparents get to tell their grandkids all kinda stories about when their parent was a kid…. especially tales of trouble and woe
I asked because I know my wife lovingly asked her daughter because she wanted to get a head start on knitted blankets and booties, but always wound up making them all the greatest pastel colors regardless…
hey bb — how’s your bay tonight?
i’ve always liked not knowing. had an amniocentesis done when i was pregnant with my second daughter but chose not to find out. there are so few mysteries of life left…
if that ain’t the truth…and my children always dread the stories they most definitely would like to tuck away somewhere and never hear again
and for the older grandchildren…the pics of their parents as babies are golden!
I hear that…my youngest daughter was on the same page…and yes…few mysteries remain…
*rubbiing hands together in gleeful anticipation*
Today I had meeting from 8:30 to 8 PM for the Safe Parking lot for the Homeless. Board of Sups, Housing Coalition committee and SLO City Council. Got an appointment with the Mayor out of that for Thursday. And a rebook next month with the committee. Now have organization in South County wanting to sponsor some lots. Some in our town. So I did not get to do anything else.
Good night, Petro. What a good of flashback!
Well done, bb !
*heh* Mahalo…! I’ve been known to mangle a metaphor or two, with the best of them…! ;-)
Niters ! I’m off as well … G’nite all !
So sweet!
baby
g’nite petro
Thank you Yogi Petro. They are competing now…like Tom Sawyer’s fence project…since I jumped on this some are saying well we been thinking about that and or my territory! It’s not about the homeless it is about how they want this to proceed. Huge headache after the group meeting. Did get all copies of eaches email so we can brain storm before the next meeting. Glad you cooled off.
Suzanne~
CONGRATULATIONS-you must be exhausted..
BEST CARTOON EVER ! and I was just telling my 5 yr-old little girl all about Granny!
John Tully
Tullycast
Muffler Burn?
Hey all, Liberty Calls! Oh, and for those in Chicago, if Rahm ends up as your mayor, you have my condolences.
thanks john — how you doing tonight?
Hickey…? ;-)
hey hannibal — how ya doing tonight?
i was thinking it was whisker burn — didn’t think of hickeys at all
I’m just fine and dandy. Have Federal jury duty in November, which lasts for a month. But the advanced notice is nice. I do prefer the state system though, one day or one trial.
Perfect example of why we need to reach out.
Congratulations Suzanne! I was looking at a catalog right before I logged on, and saw the perfect book for you: http://www.basbleu.com/cgi-bin/hazel.cgi?randomizer=71016144&action=detail&item=UD4762
However, Run, Rahmbo, Run, away from the WH as fast and far as possible…! ;-)
i’ve only had state and municipal jury duty notices — never been chosen and only one time had to show up at the courthouse. every other time it was always phone in the night before kinda deals.
My fave, that I gave to a friend on a plaque when she had her first grandchild: “Unattended children will be given an espresso and a free puppy.”
hey sb — how’s santa barbara tonight? what a wonderful looking book — thank you
Bonnie…nasty ya all!
evening, Suzzzz … firegourts
hey ppd — how ya doing tonight?
Funny you should ask, Grandma~
Having a hard last night/early morning here in NYC’s Lower East Side.

i remember when i would hear this on kpig on sat night dirty boogie with unka sherman as the dj
i sure miss that radio station
We never saw the sun today, although according to reports it was glorious in Santa Ynez. I’m wondering if it’s possible to develop seasonal affective disorder in the summertime? ;)
happy 100 ed!!!
pretty good, thanks Suz. How’s everything up north?
My youngest grandchild, my grandson, has difficulty with calling my Mom, his great grandmother ‘great grandmom’…so he just shortened it to GG…lil ones go straight to the heart of the matter…
doing well. portland had a buttload of rain today but i only had a few drops. overcast all day, which doesn’t bother me
i remember jen’s first day of kindergarten as clearly as if it happened last week. enjoy these times john.
absorbing every last precious second…
Thanks kiddo
Love is old, Love is new, Love is All!
Damn!…I got snagged!
Count your blessings, M’dear… You bagged 99 and 101…! Bwhahaha…!;-)

forks would be flying
i wasn’t paying attention to the numbers… *whew*
A big bear hug and smooches will get her through her day!
I have to say one more thing to you West-Coasters and Expats here on the Right coast
As a five-year resident and long time member of the Santa Cruz LSD-
League of Surfing Deadheads
Long Live KPIG
Hey, you! Congratulations on the 100!
best dayam radio station evah
Oh…and you know that grandchildren have that perfectly attuned and uncanny ability to repeat every word you say, even when it’s a whisper..uh oh!!!
My mom has an orange tree. She’s “grandma orange” to several grandkids!
Excellent news, Suz! congrats…
i was antie uck (a play on my last name) when my greatnieces were younger…
I love hearing the different names people have for their grandparents, so I think that’s why the book caught my eye. I had the boring, old, “grandma & granddad” (although I loved them all to pieces) so it’s fun to imagine the possibilities.
Flowers!!! I loves mee some flowers…
Thank you LooHoo…
punaise! thanks dood — how the hell ya doing? haven’t seen your fonts in ages.
my mom is nana to her grandbabies and greatgrandbabies. she chose it because she said she wasn’t old enough to be a grandma
3 grandchildren, so I got: pop pop, poppy, and grapoo…love them all!
Dayam, Stranger…! ;-)
Aloha, and welcome to the Lake, even…! *g*
grapoo? LOVE IT!
That is precious and makes sense…gotta love children’s simplicity and ‘realness!’
hey CT, been random deep lurking. ‘puter sound card went out, so LLN music fests have escaped me.
You’re welcome. It’s kinda fun to play the congrats game. But serious congrats on the grandkids.
Am I having deja vu all over again, or did you post that vid and have this thread before?
Wow, talk about weird. I have that feeling so strongly it’s scary.
But aside from my OWN spooky, congrats GranMa and to the Jenner and hubby, also!
*G*
Punaise!!! Hero of the words! So nice to see you.
ouch!
hey larue — this a new video that i found today — ya might be remembering when i shared the secret but asked everyone to keep it on the qt (and off facebook) until jen was ready to share with the world….
how’s sac tonight?
That bites…! Always a pleasure to see ya, tho…! ;-)
And at midnight, the bell will strike 12 and the thread will begin all over again ( playing music from Twilight Zone ) in background!!! /snarkadoodle
Wow! had an inch of rain since 5PM tonight, ending around 10:30. Did you get much? Suz?
Busy day so I’m doing a quick check-in then heading off to bed.
That was ‘the one’.
Broadcast all around the world, live, in real time.
It’s a classic com studies study for how it broke so much new ground in its time.
Now a days, simple stuff.
Back then satellite technology for broadcast was minimal, expensive.
And this was on US television, and many, many other countries around the world, all at the same time.
kp365, in the comments in the linky, says it best:
Wow, ’67. Dang. I was 14, where’d the time go?
Laughing baby for Suz.
well everything that was wrong in the world is fixed now, so there’s nothing left to gripe about, right? :~)
hey starbuck — i heard pdx got .96 inches in 30 minutes…. i only got a few drops — enough to make spots on the windows but not clean them off.
how ya doing tonight?
where’d the time go?
i want some of whatever you are smoking dood *g*
how is the family?
Yeah, all I could think of was sex on a Norton somehow got weird.
*G*
Oh…that lil one is hilarious and the laughter is infectious…
OMG! This baby is so cute!
Whew!
precisely one year from empty-nesterhood!
“ça va”. (that’s frenchie-speak for ‘we’re getting by’, thx for asking)
I’m just far enough SE of PDX so it took a bit longer, but yes it’s soggy. A band of storms starting about 5PM over the West Hills moved NE into Washington, and at first I thought we would not get much, but the storms soon developed on the east side. Heaviest around 8PM.
WAY FUNNY!
Another Bonnie, Nasty Soul Shake!
dancing babes
wow.. time sure has flown…
Just want to make sure nobody missed this.
Evening Suzanne,
The Austrian court caved in to public pressure and terminated proceedings against Jane Burgermeister.
Other activists in Austrian are not so lucky. The drug treatment programs in the holding asylums are a bitch.
good news for jane plove! how ya doing tonight
baby feet
Yeah, and it’s time to let it pass into the night as Mapleton killed it after Laura died, it died a bit when Wild Bill left, and now that Mapleton had defaulted on it’s bank notes for their failed empire, KPIG is a shell of what it was.
And there are real people there, still trying to eke out a living for cheap wages, in one of the most expensive places in the USA.
BTW, they now charge for the internet feed, if there’s still one.
And SF’s am feed went dark recently, I think.
Sad. It was a leader once, a proud bastion of the usurped and corrupted KSAN/KMPX radio of SF.
Sigh, and the FIRST streaming radio station on the internets, evah.
Evah.
Sigh.
Oh yeah! The Bramletts
boogie feet
Ah…those good ole San Fran radio stations were the ‘real deal’…everything changes…and seldom for the better sadly!
Ok, that must be it, knew something was rattling my brain!
Sac is kewl, again.
We now proceed into 7 days of mid, lo 80′s and mid lo 70′s.
Still unheard of. Basil a plenty, ‘maters coming back after a week or so of hotter n 90F.
Stuff in pots and in the ground still growin . . .
A long, kewl growin season in store! Even Honey’s wild flowers from spring are still pretty!
*G*
Sweah to dawg Ed, I been here and done this!
lol
Doing passable.
Congratulations.
And continued good luck.
boogie down
good to hear — and thanks plove
Hell, where’d Sandy go . . miss her.
Edit
Dang Ed, that WAS a Sandy Denny composition!
Here’s Some Great Music History For Pups Who Might Not Know.
Ed, I was thinking someone like Tom Rush, Phil Ochs, maybe had written that! Forgot entirely that Sandy did it, and what a RARE recording you link to! Pups, bookmark that one, it’s historic.
So many including Judy Blue Eyes covered that song in the 60′s.
Haven’t thought of it in decades. Damn it’s a grand song.
Who Knows, Where The Time Goes.
*heavysigh*
dancing
Heavy…no fun..a story of intense greed.
is ca gonna levy fines against them and then be too scared to collect — as they did with blue cross
I hear ya bro…
the deja vu is a mindmesser…
and sometimes ya ask somebody…and the
deal gets does a double down…
that gets freakY!!!
Suz…that was phookin awesome…great vid…used to love doin the jitterbug and boogie back in the day!
Lovely song. I’d not heard the original, only Judy Collins. Perfect for me today.
deja vu all over again
and now folks have to pay whether they like it or not for this kind of shite! Healthcare mee arse!
i was a dancer from the time i was a wee one…. had my first lessons at 6… was heartbroken when the knee doc told me i couldn’t dance anything other than slow dances anymore. was how i kept so fit
John sure can do it with heart and soul…
heart full of soul
I am very sorry to hear that Suz…when ya love dancin and it gets taken away it is a cruel thing…slow dancin is fine and sweet up close, but shakin a leg and lettin loose is ecstatic. Knowin of your Irish roots, were you doing traditional dancing as a young one?
Yeah, I miss KPIG like Suz does, cuz it COULD have been saved somehow.
KMPX/KSAN, Big Daddy Tom Donahue? Rachel? All the others? They ran their time until they were beaten out and up and the hippies went dark on the airwaves.
But in the Bay Area there was KTIM in Marin, and even KFOG in the 70′s/80′s was a rebel station.
I was real lucky to be living in the Bay Area from ’64-88.
From 11 to 35. Formative, all I did there. Protests, radio/tv and junior college for creative arts, years in the food biz stoned out of my goard and then in charge of places . . . . and all that went along with them times then . . . those were heady times in ’64-’88. Especially around Baghdad By The Bay.
*G*
tap and ballet until i was a teen and then i switched to modern dance. never tried traditional dancing — my little sister was a clogger and it held no interest to me. now that i’m older and wiser… i wish i had tried more traditional dances back when i could
There’s a lot to read from SF Gate, and other sources about this one.
Your instincts are good.
PacifiCare/United will duck a lot of the $9Billion plus, for a lot of reasons.
Too lazy to linky to other sources, but kudo’s to Loo Hoo for branging it to FDL.
It’s huge, but, it’s not gonna happen for the benefit of we the people. Maybe a handful.
You could not have said it better my friend…formative years and good vibes and evolving around the ole cosmic wheel…heady times for sure…
where the hell is the current flow of heady times, I guess we just gotta make them as we go!
*G*
Garcia, Merle Saunders
Notice the REASON for this performance.
The Dead lost yet another keyboard player.
Sigh.
’bout time for me to head out folks. thank you for letting me spend some time with ya tonight enjoying and celebrating.
g’nite and *le poof*
Yeah, Ed really hit me hard with that link of his to Sandy’s recording.
I’d forgotten it was HER song, and how grand she did it.
Judy Collins, of course, was the one we heard on the radio.
I’d heard it done by Baez, Rosalee Sorrells, and others.
Really hits me, still, relistening to that clip Ed posted.
Wow.
My niece was a tap and modern dance person since she was a wee one also…over the years she put on some weight and it never slowed her down, but made her change her approach…then injury struck, and she has had to curtail most of her dancing…I truly wept for her! She loved it so much and is the sweetest person with a sunny disposition. I try to encourage her to take another try when she feels she is healed…
*G*
Rock. Like it was meant to be.
*G*
G’nite soon to be Grandma Suz!
Sleep well and sweet dreams…
I don’t think I know this about you.
YOU know I interviewed artists and such of all sorts in my time in San Mateo.
For broadcast.
I SO respect dancers.
You recall an SF based troupe and location called Oberlin Dance Collective?
Late 70′s, early 80′s. Still dancing, I think.
Aloha, Suz…! Congrats and pleasant dreams…! ;-)
Time to say g’nite pups…
Larue, take care bro and be well…
Sleep well everyone and don’t forget to
dream!
Ya know, I have learned some of life’s lessons REALLY hard and slow. I just get to immersed in the lessons at hand, and the rest elude me at times, even if I got them, before.
And funny you should mention what ya did.
I’m really falling into the whole mode as to what can I do (not much), do what I can.
Daily.
That means I need to back off the keyboard at times. Which is hard for me. The keyboard is my lifeline with the big world, the sharing place, where I get to meet others, they get to meet me (heh).
It also means I gotta find being happy more than I’m finding being unhappy.
And I’m a hard core doomsdayer. Plan and anticipate for the worst, hope for better.
But I need a better way. Even if I can’t make it better. I need a better way.
The dobro and the music on the internet helps. GRillin these past 4 days for my honey and our neighbor pals was kewl. I miss the festin, bad. But, I had some fun recently.
Oh well, late, time to get back to reality tomorrow and the rest of this week.
Always great to chat with ya . . .
*G*
Suz, know you’ve left, but . .
This was a goodurn.
You danced.
Dang.
Bet you were good, too. Sorry yer knee’s gave out.
Wish I’d had known ya and been able to vid your work at some point.
Still, I’m smilin knowin this about cha . .
*G*
Art, in any form, is to the soul what . . . ah fuck. Doing art of any type is bitchen. I’ve felt it, I feel it with music. I know when others feel it in THEIR arts.
The passion and love for that art is insane to behold, be a part of, look at and such.
Good food, for the creative soul, no matter if a writer, dancer, theatre member, choral sanger, picker, or someone who chronicles it all and puts it to media to share with others.
Damn I miss art.
You Pups make sure you don’t miss Art, it’s a cryin shame.
Grand Ma Suzanne!!! A big Congratulations from all of us Suz!!! The first one.. what a great event that will be… but ya have a long way if ya think you are going to catch up to me sweetie a long way…./s
