Heckuva job, Arizona GOP.
Brewer herself acknowledged Thursday during an interview on a talk show on Phoenix radio station KTAR-FM that she could have done better.
“It certainly was the longest 16 seconds of my life,” Brewer said of the pause. “I’m human, I’m human.”
She said the post-debate questioning by reporters was unfair, but added that leaving as she did might have been “the wrong thing to do. ”
“But that’s how I felt at the moment,” she added.
Isn’t the entire right-wing all about how they feel in the moment?

“Isn’t the entire right-wing all about how they feel in the moment”
Considering the short attention span…..
Just to start….I recall when we seriously thought that the step of women getting into politics would make a great and positive difference…such as honesty and social issues concern..sigh.
Yay! Finally some significant rain here. Even when there has been rain in the area it’s barely touched the ground here. Until last noght.
Mornin’, BT, pups
At the opposite end of the intellectual spectrum:
Stephen Hawking: God NOT Needed For Creation
G’Morning…it’s here as well. Pretty much during the night, I think
Hey, we better be on time today…huh. Thanks for checking. Angela is so happy; she has found a new perch.
I can’t wait to see what the Wingnuts do with this one !
We got a little rain coming, something about a Hurricane
Where are you?
From Krugman this morning:
Yer not gonna tell me where it is, are ya? *g*
I gotta be on time today. Taking over the other bookkeeper’s job and I’m knee deep in alligators.
Those are pretty high bars, Bev. Let’s start with ability to read, speak in grammatically correct sentences. I had seen this last night, as my husband was in the LR, cracking up and he just had to show me. Quite amazing. I wonder if the woman has seen a doctor lately.
Most of ‘em will prolly never know the book exists and prolly aren’t interested in M Theory or any of that cool stuff anyhow.
Operative word is: “they”. How they feel…not an ounce of awareness that they are not everyone!
You know, the really sad thing is that it’s going to be the fearmongering fumblemouthed coward who will be retaining the Governor’s seat. Not the person who came off as articulate, competent and intelligent.
Witch doctor, maybe. That would be a doctor for witches.
You got that feeling too, eh?
Well, actually it’s the dining room chair, but I wanted the time to tell you why it’s so funny. Another thing she owns, you know.
Also from Krugman:
Hear! Hear! Mr. Krugman. I couldn’t have said it better. No matter what Obama and the “Democrats” want, the Republicans are going to hate it. Appeasing them doesn’t work. Obviously. Maybe you should appease the people who still might come out to vote for Democrats, since the Republicans have already made up their minds.
The numbers seem pretty grim.
“How they feel in the moment” just about sums them up. From their willingness to jump into war to their distrust of the Islamic community center to Palin’s wanting to be governor then deciding she doesn’t. Screw what they said yesterday, they can always smooth it over with some lame platitude.
ooo, save it for Caturday. I need all the help I can get.
Kismet and Nagi have decided that the keyboard and mouse are now theirs.
Which witch doctor. Dr. Demi’s got two words of advice for Jan: Sun Screen. Arizona must be hell on blonds, because that woman is only 66!
Yep…that’s the audience. ;)
Any job news, Margaret? I hate to keep asking, especially if the news isn’t good, but I am really hoping one of the two interviews produces an offer.
And I thought KO nailed it last night! Brewer is pathetic.
Krugman must be using 20/20 hindsight because I just heard that nobody knew how big the problem was. /s
If she’s a real blond I’m a Martian.
NPR does a good piece on the health care law and how the Repub distortions are to “whip up” votes for the election….O never mind the truth.
No. I guess they went with somebody else. I’m in a real funk about it. I thought I’d hit it out of the park on that interview. :(
We finally had a lot of badly needed rain yesterday here in NW Indiana, and it is clear and 62 this morning on the chez msmolly screened porch. I want to get in a bike ride, but have to slap another coat of paint on the wall in the bathroom where the mirror will go back up. At least light fixtures were installed yesterday so I can SEE what I’m painting!
But there were TWO. Did neither pan out? I am so sorry.
A few other things are hard on skin, toooo. So glad you have your own thread.;)
Well, I won’t be asking you to verify the former. *g*
But, seriously, folks, maybe last night’s performance will have an affect on the numbers. Maybe? C’mon.
Kuroneko has discovered that if she sits directly on top of the mouse, (whether my hand is on it at the time or not), she can get immediate attention. She’s done things to my display that I’ve never been able to do on my own between the mouse and keyboard.
There were three. And nope. But it was only the first one I was excited about. The other two were kind of routine and I didn’t have a lot of expectations about.
She ain’t a real blond! She may have been once, but the blond helmet isn’t natural IMHO. Under that, her face looks her age — not that there’s anything wrong with that.
So sorry to hear that, but you know, many employers are intimidated by the smart ones. Also, if they went with the “friend” of another employee, it might now work out and then, maybe they’ll rethink their decision. It’s happened to me before.
August yobs report: -54,000 (Census workers), private sector up 67,000; positive revisions to June & July. Unemployment rate up a tick from 9.5% to 9.6%. Better than expectations.
I’m sure it will be enough to make the Wall Street investors a bit wealthier today. No help for most others though
Margaret…thanks for the heads up about the rain…more coming down here than I had realized. Are you still checking Austin? I do not recall what you do/are interested in, but there have been articles about Austin one of the places hiring. Good luck.
Yep, stock market rallying today on the monthly news.
For the small people, it’s bearish because it’s just strong enough to give O an excuse to do nothing.
I have to think the vast majority of those 67K private sector jobs are low paying service sector jobs. The numbers may look a little better but the real world situation is still dismal.
You think she looks her age? My mother is 82 and she looks younger. Our friend, Jane, once said, several years ago, that as a woman ages, she can got with skinny and wrinkles, or she can fill it out a little.
No, of course there’s nothing wrong with that. There has to come a point though, (and Brewer’s reached it imo), that younger looking hair just looks silly over an older, wizened face. Her hair looks photoshopped.
Yeah. I’ve been looking in both cities and everywhere in between as if it was one large area.
There is no doubt in my mind that when Mr. Obama announces his big new economic plan, it will include extending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, “to get Republicans to vote for it” and, as usual, after the Senate is done with it, all of the stimulus will be gone and the only thing left will be those tax cuts and maybe the small bank funding thing.
I wouldn’t be saying anything about her hair and skin if she had come across the least bit professional. What was she doing during that 16 second lapse? She had her script right in front of her. Was it not written as Bulliten Points? Was she over confident because of the polls? Completely disrespectful to her constituents, I thought.
Haven’t seen a debate performance like that since Reagan in ’84, onset of Parkinson’s?
Maybe she should stop badmouthing Democrats for using a teleprompter and learn to make use of it herself? Her disrespect for her constituents is irrelevant because she hates brown people. Just like they do.
Just a thought…In the Austin paper there is a writer = Michael Barnes;
mbarnes@statesman.com. He is not employment, but “out & about”. Knowledgeable/responsive. I wrote him once for information. You could find some of his pieces online. If you can suggest what you may be looking for, he may have some suggestions IMHO….Just a thought.
On the lighter side, imagine the hangover that one’s got this morning.
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.

Namaste
Terminal case of dumbass.
I’ve done public speaking. It’s easy. 18 point font, bold, Bulliten Points, I’m telling ya!
Yeah, but I think I remember you weren’t very interested in #3. Not that you’d probably turn it down.
One of them might pop up yet. This isn’t too comparable, but my daughter had applied for a last-minute teacher’s aide job that she was very qualified for. Had an interview and then heard nothing until FINALLY the Principal called — and he thought she’d already been offered the job! So she went from big disappointment to excitement in an hour.
So there may be hope yet. Sometimes it just takes awhile.
Work yer old dragon tale off today.
Now that’s what hard on skin….
Sorry, stepped away for a minute
I’m in Mass
Thanks. Maybe I’ll try that.
I disagree that Brewer is human. I think she’s another pod person like we’ve been seeing too much of here lately.
Thsi person giver me the willies every time I see here face on TEEVEE. Maybe it’s just me………..
I was just thinking, that after a “performance” like that, I’d be too embarrassed to show my face. Is that one of the problems with people like her, no conscience?
It’s not that. It’s that I felt #3 was a waste of time and the interview didn’t go especially swimmingly. It was #2 I wasn’t especially interested in. Standing there for 12 hours a day, running a production line that makes foam plates. I don’t even use foam plates.
Here’s the industry detail. I can’t find the average hourly earnings data (think there’s a glitch in the tables). I think they were a bit better than expected, but more generally have been pretty tepid, like employment gains, in this recovery.. For the month, on the table I linked, see that temporary help (scroll down) contributed 16,800 to the overall gain.
Thanks…yeah I heard that’cane is headed to Cape Cod…take care.
Some of us just have an eye for it, and can see these sleaze come oozing out .
Her hair looks like it’s been dyed to extinction.
Like the song “oh well, a touch of gray, kinda suits you anyway”
Which band? I’m drawing a blank
Yeah and being on television isn’t exactly like public speaking, is it? It’s not like there was a whole live audience in the room with her. At least the audio didn’t sound like it was on a stage in an auditorium.
Howard Dean (cnbc) thinks this employment report is ‘great.’ Guess O got him to drink the Kool-Ade.
The Grateful Dead of course
Thanks!
Time to go join SD and others out there in that capitalist cesspool.
Have a great day all!
I’m off on errands for now. Be well.
I was online looking at want ads online. Only half heartedly, though, as my car is broken and I’m going camping next week, so that would make it tough to get to an interview, in any event. Excuses? I’ve got a million of then.
I think it’s the bone structure showing so prominently under her skin….brrrrrrrr
I just found out last might she stepped into Napolitano’s job; wasn’t even “elected” if that makes any difference anymore.
maybe she’s trying to make a name for herself. If so, she’s done it
Thank you…brain fart. I just woke up , in my defense.
I agree. And, they would have been seated differently. You know the old trick about acting or speaking? You’re supposed to imagine the audience is all naked. Though, I never do that. I just take off my glasses and then I can’t see the details. Hence, the 18 pt. font.
Nah. Howard Dean has always been a partisan first. Though sometimes he shows flashes of Progressivism above and beyond what we’re used to seeing today, it’s all relative. No koolaid necessary.
I’m outta here. When SD leaves, that my signal;) Margaret, sometime when we are here, maybe you can say more about what you want. Austin has a big restaurant scene, also. I enjoy this thread so much. Thanks all…be careful out there.
Have a good one. Drive safely and try not to flip anyone off. I’m just ticklin’ ya.
No prob. I was going to link to the video but the fascists at youtube have taken it down. Jerry would be pissed.
O, OK…but I have had a big reunion with my horn…who is that honkin’ grandma? Cheers.
I think so too. Didn’t they even encourage fans to record their concerts?
Yeah, one of my problems is I’ve never done restaurant or retail work. Not in my entire almost 35 years of full time employment. Even as a teen I never did anything like that. My last job was doing clinical research but I was a technician by training and have worked professionally on everything from lawnmowers to F-14s. I’ve been looking for science jobs, data entry jobs, warehouse jobs, medical office jobs, technician jobs and graphic design jobs.
Good morning all. It’s almost time for work, so I’ll keep it brief: Jan Brewer is is in no way, shape or form a twat. She’s even worse than that. Thanks, Demi.
Absolutely! I can only assume that some less scrupulous faux later members of the band got greedy. Can’t be Lesh or Weir.
Ruh Roh. That’s a no no. Quick, better hit edit.
Her face looks old. But she has “kept herself up” so that helps. I don’t look my age either — good genes, I guess. My mother wasn’t completely gray at 82, and I have very little gray (hiding under the blond highlights).
Grateful Dead. Last album before Garcia died.
Yep, I agree. Good genes make a Huge difference. I’m 58 and I have hardly any grey ones yet. My younger sisters passed passed me a long time ago with the wrinkles and gray. I also think that a good attitude helps too. I’m not the worry wart sister. Kick it, man.
Before Brent Myland died too
They took it down? how stupid
Ha! And, now God and the mods love you. :)
Agree. The republicans will oppose anything he suggests so go big.
Good diet…it’s what goes in, not what goes on, IMO
That’s another reason to go big. If you are going to hand out canday to those bastards make them pay for it. Get a big stimulus. They will go for it since paying taxes is anathema to them.
I disagree with the post. The entire right wing is not about how they feel at the moment.
The entire right wing is about they will feel around Nov. 3.
I agree. They should go big. Really big.
Touch of Grey – original vid
The thing I hate about the repugs is their apparent ability to turn around on a dime or lie in the face of the truth and forget whatever they said before that moment. They can look at a green light and tell you it is red and next minute say it is blue.
Hey comrade BT, where’s the mention of the left wingnut eco wacko that invaded The Discovery Channel offices with bombs and guns? Not a single mention over here on FDL… Hmmm. One wonders if it have been a right wingnut religious wacko just how many posts we’d see… the word that comes to mind is ‘hypocrites’.
My doc said, “Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it!” when I had my annual physical a couple of weeks ago. Clean living LOL!
Anybody wanna swap governors? I would happy to trade you Brewer and her advisor/private prison lobbist(he was behind her in the video)!
Thanks!
It wasn’t a brain fart – it was a different type of fart altogether….

Yeah, I am very concerned about the Young DEMS not voting. I can understand why they might look to the retardicans for leadership. I once worked with a young man who received training and benefits from the state. I was shocked when he registered to vote as a republican and asked him why. His response was: “I know the republicans represent the RICH and I am hoping some day to be rich like them”.
I loved what Keith had to say about Brewer. But the fact is that it won’t matter one lick to the voters of AZ. She is the leader of bigotry and the frightened and she knows it. And actually, I thought her retorts attacking her opponent were quite good and got off the subject. The reporters didn’t like it, but her constituents did, I would bet.
Late to the party, but I’m at the point of believing that all the Koch brothers (or the private prison industry or Rupert Murdoch, etc) have to do is commission some Indonesian artists to make a bunch of a life-size shadow puppets, and then just hire actors to read out racist stuff while someone obviously handles the marionette strings.
Truly, facts, some semblence of intelligence, the ability to speak coherently? Absolutely none of that matters to rightwingers, esp the bitter ‘Baggers. So why even bother with messy human beings, who, you know probably cost a lot of money and eff up on a regular basis?? Just bring in shadow puppets or sock monkeys. What’s the difference? If someone spews out racist lies, the bitter ‘Baggers will vote for ‘em.
What a top-shelf nutbar. Where do they breed these people and why is it that America is burden with the lion’s share of them?
