Sigh indeed. I just did my second in a week of this NEW thing called ‘group interviews’.

Ya gotta suit up, hit a session with 20-30 others.

Sometimes they brang ya back or ask ya back for more.

Sometimes, they don’t.

But it starts with a group session, maybe a one on one.

Today, we got a two minute place to deliver our ’60 Second Me’, and I was able to nail it.,

I was prepared! *G*

Then, they weed down.

Brutal.

One good thing, you get to see yer competition, up close, chat with them.

And learn, they don’t always match up with you one way or another.

Or, they just outclass you.

Bottom line, lookin for work is a brutal thang.

My pantry…I planted these awesome Italian heirloom zukes that are producing these wonderful, firm young fruit.
So, I’m breading, frying and freezing like a maniac. They’re SO good. We’ve put up 8 lbs. so far. Primo, no grease on reheat. We rock.
We got a call that our beef, 1/4 Angus- hand-raised steer by a young rancher devoted to the Angus line. That meat is coming in Sat. , a month early because of the weather. Our meat chickens are also 3 weeks early. It’s a bitch being a pioneer omnivore!!!!!! Everybody’s going to have a postcard picture Labor Day and we’ll be getting our Kill On. At least it’s the one team project we found that we’re good at together. Our relationship was built on a Golfer and a Sculptor. Opposite yet kind of similar ways of looking at things. Boy, did babies blow a bomb in that one!!!!!

Only, I’m home, and not there, like we allus been since Fall ’01.

I hear that every year and say,”Poof”. We’ll know when we know. The general thought wave has been to predict cold winters that don’t materialize.
Not to say I’m not concerned about a shit load of food in the freezer. But, we do have propane hot water and cooking, along with a killer 5 chamber Canadian wood stove with cooking compartments. And hopefully access to freezers. And with the influx of high-end property owners, the county doesn’t treat us as low- man on the repair list anymore. So, there’s that.

I’ve got to call it a night. Here’s the run down on our hand- raised, butchered by a very cool family business[57 yrs.]
and deep frozen for our pickup. Their wrap lasts 2-3 years because it’s what they’re known for. I thought I’d have to vacume seal. And they’re LOCAL. We have to bring our own containers to transport. our own containers We’ll pick up 175 lbs of prime Angus. $2.20 lb. for ribeye,t-bone,rump roast, pot roast,short ribs, stew meat,ground, soup bones. LOCAL.
We all need to think outside of the box on food. I had a 7 1/2′ long by 36″ wide bed of French Fillet beans produce 21 lbs of beans. IF I tended to them. Picking every other day and procesing in small, 2 1/2 lb batches.
We need more Victory Gardens. Mine is 9 years old. With meat and eggs.

Hi Mary sent Ron mail as per request.How was the walk. I rode the bay under a starry sky for 1.5 hours birds flying around seals following. No moon so couldn’t see too well but got my workout…barely the tide was leaving.

I love hanging out with our Finnish family-by-marriage-still-the-family-when-the-divorce-came.
Marjukka and I both believe in the ability to move energy. As a child I was taught to try to move the passive campfire smoke with energy concentration. Push away, ” I See A Rabbit, I See A Rabbit”. Imagine a column moving upward. Or, try to send it into the face of your dearest sister-in-law, who’s sending it at you. Prevailing wind wins.
It’s so much fun. And our government and the Soviet Union spent fortunes experimenting with those energy thingies.
The things that my parents friends and the patrons of my mother’s incredible oil paintings where interested in and actively working on.
Here’s my idea. It’s a known fact that humans only use 10% of their brain, which is why that smoke fight is either discounted or seen as magic. Bullshit. It’s just tapping into the vast 90%.
We need to concentrate that extra intelligence on Just Say Now. IMHO
Because I want a local, busy, organic Pot Cookie production company that supports our local community in decent jobs. I’ve always wanted a small but well thought out production kitchen.
