Shakira — Whenever, Wherever, live in Rotterdam, Holland, 2003, on the Tour of the Mongoose.
What’s on your mind?
Aloha, Suz…!
Oh sure, give me a woody first thing.
God, That lady is off the charts sexy!
WOOF!
Oh, that is some… act.
Suz!

Hot! Finally!
Btw ya’ll, my sister truly thanks ya’ll for the healing vibes last nite…! *g*
She’s sore but resting at home…! 8-)
I do want to watch this, but I have to comment first. I resisted, and resisted watching Justin Timberlake’s Love concert. An then I fell in love with it a few years ago. Suzanne, would you do a post with it or one of his SNL musical sketches that make me fall down laughing?
wonderful news tut
Suzanne!!!!
smokin catfish…that is some heavy duty balancing act goin on in that vid…
huh…’innocent look’…uuummmm!
hey ce — how’s ohio tonight? i took stephanie to see justin timberlake when he was with the backstreet boys.. or was he in n’sync?
is this the one ya were thinking of?
Great news CT…may she continue to heal…
hey ed — how ya doing tonight?
No, this was much later, maybe about 2008. We were stuck watching tv, didn’t want to see this — in 15 minutes we were hooked: “Future sex, love sounds” — really the best dancing ever. And he sang like an angel.
Cheap shit Cuervo. A HORRID taste, too.
Pass Busted and all of us some Anjeo, 30 years in the barrel.
*G*
sorry, forgot the link…
Fair to midland as they used to say…some minor med problems, but nothin I can’t handle. Thanks for askin…and you?
Watching Ascent of Money with Nial Ferguson.
hey larue — how’s sac?
Hey folks: It was almost 100 degrees today in SF!
i’m doing ok thanks :) got up to 86 outside today but the breeze has quite a bite… felt more like fall
I just watched the movie “the informant!” with Matt Damon. Very interesting. I also listened to the story on NPR one day. Very interesting.
It’s explains a lot about why big corporations get away with stuff.
hey spocko — ohmystars, that’s forking hot! how ya doing?
I’m melting. melting.
oh no wait that’s my Popsicle.
I’m sweating, sweating…
Great pic Suz.
Skakira is Columbiano.
Folks what don’t know about her, need to wiki her.
She’s been incredible pop music wise for a decade or more.
IMHO one of the greatest crossover Latino/Latina hits ever.
And the numbers for sales will support that.
I’ve always thought (recall I spent 5 years in Spanish Radio) she beat the shit out of American based pop, and only Madonna offered some input to Skakira.
She’s the real deal.
I hate pop, but Shakira has owned the industry, world wide.
No one can argue shit about that.
She’s bad!
*G*
How does she DO that? That’s beautiful.
She went in for a biopsy…! So fingers and toes are crossed…! Sadly, my Bil, her hubby, is laid up beside her recovering from recent prostrate surgery…! 8-(
Ahem, ya do love me don’t ya honey.
The video was 9:44, it took me a minute to compose myself.
We hit 105F today, as predicted.
Funny, didn’t feel all that bad and I was OUT in it.
*G*
Two more days of hot, and then, down to 90′s and less.
Who am I to complain.
*G*
Howza You?
Spoken like a true tequiliano… which I was, but that was 25 years ago.
hey margot — how ya doing tonight?
Shakira is pretty amazing, she can even do rock.
Today I broke down and listed to right wing talk radio locally to see what they had to say about the non-Mosque not at ground zero.
And I heard one of the host I helped get canned rant about how she protested Jody Evans of Code Pink at a Jerry Brown Fund raiser.
It was sort of fun to listen to her blather on and throw out her various buzz words, “Saul Alanzsky! Code Pinkos!”
CT, missed what the issues are, but if it’s family and health related, the best to you and yours from me and mine.
Family, first. Always.
Sigh.
double ouch tut…. sending them all warm positive healing thoughts dood
((tut)))
*smooches*
You still here?
Wishin you ya fuck, the best.
Hear and read ewe got options. Besides sheep.
*G*
I wish you the BEST of all worlds, hoss, and a job where it don’t tear up yer back and such daily.
Oh, BTW, tell them right wing fucks at yer site, I said, er, um, “Fuck YA If Ya Can’t Take A Proggy!”
*G*
It might be fun to hear her try some heavy metal, not sure she can pull off the death growl thing though.
I’ll take yers, hoss, and thank ya for it.
*G*
Fall is slowly winding it’s way in here believe it or not…got down to 57 last night…good sleepin weather!
hey hannibal — how ya doing tonight?
I’m not a pop fan, but she’s amazing. I had no idea she was Colombian, and I loved watching her moves. (From my comfy chair with a big glass of wine! I’m not impressed enough to move.) Since we’re checking in with weather reports, summer has hit Santa Barbara, especially in the inland valleys. We’re still cooling off at night, so life is good.
She’s incredible, bi lingual, a triple threat, and one of the BEST entertainers of all time.
*G*
And she’s hot. At 30+.
;-)
When it rains, it pours…! ;-)
Much Mahalo Ya’ll…!
hey sb — how’s santa barbara tonight?
I’m doing good, recovering from dealing with some friends of the family. One of them talked non-stop, for hours. And had absolutely nothing to say.
Larue…that’s some nassstttyy heat dood…whew
That would be in the chair with the AC blowin right smack in my face weather hoss.
Srsly, love yer way as needed.
I don’t always get all this sloppy.
But FDL family and friends?
Oh yeah. Our best to ya and yers.
If feels a little like fall, which means we’ll have a month or so more of Indian summer. I’m going to try planting some flower seeds when it really gets cool just to see what happens whenever it warms up.
Hiya, pups.
Splitting my time between helping my dog – his back right paw is tender – and live-blogging the Alaska primary at the seminal. The GOP U.S. Senate race is way too close to call yet. Palin’s teabagger is ahead of Murkowski by 500 votes.
It’s a DRY heat hoss.
I was out at 1pm and 3 pm, at 100F.
Still some movement in the local tree tops.
AC on in the car.
No biggie.
When it gets 110F for twelve days or more, THEN I begin to fuckin complain.
We been good, on that, this year, so far.
*G*
Thanks for your reply!
Dawg help us all for them 500 votes ET.
;-)
Hannibal, throw this quote at them…
hey et — poor strider. do ya think the quitter’s endorsement was a help or a hindrance? how ya doing tonight?
Yeah, I’m not into the pop thing, but she is one of the few with real talent and ability. Unlike most of the ones around today, she has no need for auto-tune, which is rarer and rarer.
It’s beautiful now. We had a hot day that started with a horrific accident where a big rig plowed into a house and killed 3 people. Although nothing else matches that, there seemed to be an unusual number of wild traffic accidents. Full moon wackiness started early I guess.
waka waka
I have known about her for a long time, since she first hit when she was still in her teens.
For that I prescribe Dethklok.
Not really but my younger son likes it…
Words to live by. And to top it all off, the jabber mouth is a lifelong, die hard Republican.
Cheap Trick pwns Shakira!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybeIx5wrDhw
oh no.. how terribly sad sb.
Aloha, ET… so a third of the votes have been tallied so far…?
110F for twelve days runnin…now that’s a mofo…
and ya know I got to throw somethin your way
hey vmt — how ya doing tonight?
The most interesting story I heard about here was she was taking college classes because she wanted to learn things. She didn’t go in with an entourage or anything. The professor had no idea that she was A BIG DEAL celebrity.
I liked to hear that. If I could find the link I would, but I’m too hot.
I prefer the odd dichotomy of The Agonist. Cute girl doing the death growl vocals. It’s delightfully odd.
guitar
wow…double pain!
Ayep!
Hi Suzanne,
I’m doing great tonight. Had a wonderful day today and then watched the sun set over the ocean. Magnificent.
Miller will pull ahead until about 80% of the vote is in. Then it will tighten. The early and mailed votes completely changed the Stevens-Begich race in 2008, so if this is tight, we might not get a victor until mid-September.
I was working in Spanish Radio in Sac in ’98.
*G*
She was, and is, hot.
*G*
YOU?
?
KIllin me.
lol
CALIENTE!
Interesting, strange that nobody would recognize Shakira though, even Glenn Danzig is taken with her.
Recounts up the ying-yang then…?
Shakira makes me thing of Tbogg. He has often posted video of her.
Interviews today seemed to go well. Heard about the other job when I got home. I expect a phone screen before the end of the week. They did say job site is Oregon, I think job is worth relocating for, but not sure what would happen with house in CA. Maybe just let foreclosure happen?
shake shake shake
Have been in Berkeley all day and evening. HOT. Wish I was home where the a/c is running.
Only 95 today.
Still, some ladies find me mildly attractive.
LOL!
guitar girl
hey wmd — where in oregon? its a lot cheaper cost of living wise up here (at least so i’ve found)
how ya doing?
Here’s a link for you, and I hope it cools down.
Killin me, I’m not that much into the blues. (laffs)
Here’s Some History
Srsly, after Butterfield’s reign and such, I lost my taste for blues. No one could do it faster, and better, arranged.
It was all the same to me, band to band, artist to arist, song to song.
Yeah, I’m jaded.
*G*
hey senator — how ya doing tonight?
Damn Suzanne…almost want to throw them bell bottoms on and that silk shirt and shake it all down :–}
I am sweaty but fine. How are you tonite?
*heh* Your modesty is one of your more endearing traits, Busted…! ;-)
Eric Shakes
;P
guitar woman
57 outside at the moment and i’m doing well thanks :)
Yer so broke and bent, yer old lady is a gold charm in yer life, hoss.
*G*
A Righwinger, at that.
Love, it transcends (or all that OTHER stuff).
*G*
You’re ornery but funny and you can cook and love your granny…and you can fix things.

Portland area. I lived there a good bit of 1996 and 1997. Like it quite a bit. It’s also possible that I’d be able to work from a bay area location. The job description for it is a nearly perfect fit for me.
Manager for the job I interviewed for today said they’d make a decision by end of next week. I’ve talked with 9 people on that job, first 6 liked me enough that they called me in for a second round.
Hey dood…I hear ya…Paul and the guys are a tough act to follow…but you’re musical rep is wide and knowledgable…hardly jaded bro!

An all time fav…rock on!!!
per wikileaks twitter:
I’m working on a diary. It starts:
Do Obama’s Daughters Need to Get Sick or Die to Change Food Safety Laws?
The Magic 8 ball says, “Signs point to yes.”
5,000 people a year die from foodborne illnesses. But in order for change to happen in a timely fashion the “right people” need to die. And by the “right people” I mean the children and spouses of the powerful and politically connected. There is a food safety bill languishing in the Senate because the people who have died just didn’t have the right connections, a good narrative and someone who has the power to follow through.
Do I want Sasha and Melia to die? No. Hell no. Of course not. I also didn’t want 5,000 other Americans to die who aren’t related to the President and who don’t have the money to ensure their food is safe. The sad reality is that in our celebrity driven media culture not all lives have equal power when it comes to media awareness and political change.
“But Spocko,” you might exclaim. “Are you trying to use questions about what the President’s children eat to make a point?!” Yes, Right now what the First Family eats is already being used make political points. Why not a few more so we can save some lives of non-Presidential daughters?
What are some of the current points made about what The First Family’s eats?:
1)Organic food is good. Michelle Obama’s organic vegetable garden got tons of press. Overwhelmingly positive. (They did upset the pesticide industry with the garden though. See Samatha Bee’s “Little Crop of Horrors” story about that.
2) Gulf seafood is safe. Last week when Obama was in the Gulf he was pictured eating local seafood. Then back in DC, when he hosted the New Orleans Saints the made it a point to have a Gulf seafood BBQ.
The seafood industry wants to get people eating Gulf seafood. (Interestingly the Gulf fishermen want to make really, really sure it is safe with no short cuts.) The seafood sellers are happy to use the photos of the President bolting down seafood. But what they don’t want to discuss is that while the shrimp might be safe for the 180 pound Obama, it might not be as safe for the two small girls. You see the safety tests are only based on a 176 pound adult. They also don’t want to tell you that the FDA isn’t testing the shrimp and seafood for the dispersant Corexit or heavy metals contained in the Deepwater crude.
I don’t want to get into the weeds on protocols, but Dr. Gina Solomon, senior scientist of the NRDC and 22 other interested groups, are demanding that the FDA take into account things like body weight, servings of seafood per week and the absence of tests for dispersant chemicals and heavy medals. (Letter link here).
The FDA will probably ignore their demands, just like BP ignored the EPA.
Why? Because none of the “right people” have gotten sick or died yet.
Mrs. Omaba has earned praise for making healthy living and eliminating childhood obesity a priority with her “Let’s Move” campaign. So one question that could be asked of her is:
Will you be feeding your child seafood from the recently opened fishing grounds in the Gulf of Mexico?
And that simple sounding question becomes a loaded political question encompassing, public health, regulatory bodies, commerce and risks we are willing to take ourselves vs. the risks we do not want our children to take.
———-
I’m still working on this but that’s where it stands now.
rock
wow….. have you contacted the wh for an answer to the wh seafood question?
No. First I contacted the FDA to confirm that they got the NRDC letter and ask what they are going to do about it. Then I can with confidence say to the WH. “The FDA admits they aren’t testing for Corexit and heavy metals and they don’t have guidelines for anyone under 176 lbs.”
HA Ha Ha Ha ha!
Them idjits @ Facebook.
I cancelled my old account last year and people keep bugging me to re join.
They wouldn’t take Bustednuckles, they wouldn’t take Ornery Bastard either.
For those who don’t know me, just Google Ornery Bastard, I am right at the top.
They did, however, take Ornery Basterd.
LMAO!
I’m Baaaaaack!
its not just seafood that is unsafe. look at all the recalls in the past week, eggs, a diary in oregon recalled all its milk and juice for salmonella and i heard something on the news tonight about deli meat being recalled.
the fda has been hamstrung with so many cuts to budget and staffing, and what staffing is there is appears to be embeds from the food or pharma industry.
oooo friend me babe
Bustednuckles…
ya should have tried ‘inglorious bastard’…watch their fonts light up!
Keep fightin the good fight spocko…I think the organic garden versus ‘oily seafood’ is a good tag for the hypocrisy from the WH!
Ooh, I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow…! ;-)
if you’ve not checked out busted blog, its magnificent. my mother (aka the little woman) likes what he has to say
the scary one about the eggs was how unfuckin believable it was that almost a half billion tainted eggs came from one place…
talk about putting all your eggs in one basket…that is some sick stuff going on there!
Champagne and Reefer
Awwe, thanks honey.
ooooooh. i love the buddy guy stevie ray vaughn cover of that… 26 minutes of musical joy
Thanks for the linky Suz…you are a kind soul…always helpful…
i buy all diary products local. i can get them at the tillamook creamery association feed store or at the cheese factory. i also like getting eggs locally.
i just do not trust those big national conglomerate producers anymore.
That is so fucking good, it should be illegal.
Brava.
I was trying to wrap my head around that today: a half billion eggs. We eat a lot of eggs, but get them from a friend in Ojai, so I’d sorta tuned out the news because I knew it didn’t affect me. (mea culpa) I still can’t really imagine the size of the operation to make that compute.
Tillamook is the best there is.
ohmystars.. i think… i hope … i think we are gonna snag one of them elusive 200′s tonight…
garlic white cheddar. and, of course, cheese curds.
I hear ya…and the hip thing with buying local is the support for the farmers and gardeners in the neighborhood and it’s economy…when I was in NC doing farming, bartering with the locals was common place also!
Good point. I should mention the eggs and e Coli too.
I worked with Dick Durbin’s aide during the pet food crisis and he made it clear that only a nationwide food disaster of the right people can stand up to the power of agribusiness.
Is the cheese from THAT Tillamook?
Yessir.
*heh* Didn’t you snag the last one, M’dear…? (smiles sweetly) ;-)
Typical me: talking about a crisis, and I’m thinking “gee, garlic white cheddar would taste really good in an omelette.” Perhaps this is why I am not in charge of the revolution.
we tend to focus on on the booshbots embedded in career positions at doj and interior. we should also be looking at fda and all the other keeping us safe agencies. i fear that a katrina type response is going to be about the best we can get in the case of any disaster, epidemic, or other natural or man-made mass event.
Eggactly. :-)
The only thing that is worse are China’s. One good thing is that in July some egg food safety laws were put into place.
its really really good in an omelette. who says we can’t eat and think at the same time
don’t make me drag out my LQQK dood
Heh, I haven’t seen the Senator in a bit.
Hope I didn’t scare her off, maybe her SS told her I was a potential stalker…
LOL!
Naww, she is good people.
Tell her when ya see her she is more than welcome to come to Portland and I PROMISE to be nice.
Just once mind ya.
i think she went looking for some sweet tea. and dood, she knows you are good people. i’ve already spilled the beans after you fixed my blown radiator hose.
The FDA is overstretched and they have their hands full with dealing with drug companies.
200…? ;-)
Time for me to visit the pillows and snag a dream or two
here’s a dreamer song for ya…may they be pleasant…
woohoo! happy 200 tut!!!
Nice timing dude.
g’nite ed
*heh* I spared ya from the agony, M’dear…! ;-)
appreciate it dood… realized i cut it rather close *whew*
Following edve to another pillow. Thanks again for making me feel so welcome. In these days of whackadoodle tea party nutjobs, I rely on FDL (and Washington Monthly) to keep me from going crazy.
I’ll take one for the team, anytime…! ;-)
Awwe, she was only going to set it on stun man.
As far as I can tell, I am the only living mortal who jumped in time to miss getting vaporized in here one night long ago when I was getting lippy and pushed that button.
CT…congrats…guess we should bake ya some ‘brownies’ ;~>
Pretty damn good.
agony
g’nite sb
Aloha, SB and ed…!
The dr. whose talk I went to on Sunday told the story about how they finally took artificial butter flavoring out of the popcorn
The stuff was making workers sick from a lung disease for years, but it took a white 52 year old consumer in Denver to have his story told in the New York times for things to change.
That points out both the power of the press and the need for someone to frame stories in a way the press can consume them. The hundreds of sick workers didn’t get a thing changed.
dood.. ya sure ya want me thinking about that???
G’nite SBCardinal…
and i am really outta here this time…had to give CT the just deserves…
Everybody has their hands full … dealing with drug companies.
Dang, and ya lived to tell the tale, eh…? ;-)
hey plove — how ya doing?
g’nite for realsies ed
What?
I like to live dangerously.
Besides, that was a long time ago and I don’t even remember what I was running my mouth about.
I HAVE to be nice now, you know where I live!!
Doing great, thanks.
Just stopped by for a few rays.
*laughing* i don’t remember what it was either but i do remember my shock at having to mod ya.
