Meeting in Copenhagen with the European Medical Museums Association, then a fun tour of the fjiords of Norway. We are a party of four, and really looking forward to visiting a part of Europe not yet visited.
Alhoha Brother CT, how’s the view of God’s feet from yer mountain…been up there lately?
Jest checkin’ in before I hit the rack…keep the tunes hot and the arguments hotter. What’s yer take on the war situation in view of the recent stirrings of sanity from significant folks who are usin’ terms like “right wing nut jobs” and “perpetual war” to make connections with the economic forces behind our fucked up situation? I think Obama’s hit the same wall JFK hit in 1962-63 but I’m bettin that the majorities opposed to these wars and the professional military whose very existance is threatened by corporatization are gunna get us out and the people of the Middle East will take care of whatever “nation builders” we leave in occupation.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION AND FOR GOD’S SAKE DON’T SHOOT THE FRIENDLIES!!
*knock on wood* I’m truly surprised at how quiet the hurricane season has been to date…! Considering the heat levels recorded this year, we haven’t seen the typical release mechanisms…!
Oh, I am so looking forward to planes, trains and ferries! This year has been intense at work, and I’ve only had a few days off. This two week trip will be a restorative, I hope.
MrCE sits on the board of this organization, and it has been the greatest learning experience of our lifetime. Held every other year in some European country, with the alternate year planning in Paris, we’ve been lucky to travel to many cities. History of medicine is very strange, yet wonderful.
The Japanese have a very firmly planted inventiveness about a lot of things…some say it is because they have so many people occupying such a small place and must be inventive in order to survive…but there is always the counter argument about their fishing practices.
CT, I’d better scoot; lots to do tomorrow, but I wanted to at least drop in to your thread since I haven’t been able to stop by in a while. Have fun everyone, and have a great night and a great tomorrow!
Driving home from Yoga I saw a black and white cat on the roadside so I turned around and parked and got a paper bag out and collected it. looked like recent instant death by car. I decided to look for the owners as posting a picture around did not seem practical. I went to the first house across the street, a family, they had rescued it year before. I was glad they got closure as they had lost another never knowing what happened to it. I felt very sad for the beautiful one year old cat I know was in the six year old girls heart. I also felt very blessed to go to the right door on the first try. A black cat was standing guard duty in the vacant lot below. I know she will be missed.
I wonder if Fox News and Pam Geller will successfully incite violence.
I think that they will. And then people in the media will do some public wring of hands as if they was nothing they could have done. The problem is that they LOVE this stuff. It’s exciting. They like reporting on it. It’s X v.s Y. Two men enter the ring. Only one leaves!
One thing that you know that the media won’t do, is allow someone to Gin up violence toward people and corporations. When you look at how many people have been hurt (financially) by the banksters there are a lot more people whose lives have been messed up than by people who were protesting the community center 2 blocks from ground zero.
Tomorrow I have court hearing in the morning and Board of Supervisors in the afternoon. I have to file a writ of mandate complaint against the CA Coastal Commission for my attorney (who is out of town) at a case management conference SLO Superior Court. He provided me with a statement as well. Wish me luck! A lot of people will suffer if we can’t change the direction of the now $300.00 plus sewer making utilities around $600.00 a month!
Today for the first time in months I listened to right wing talk radio and read the blog of the right wing radio host I helped get fired.
One of the reasons he was fired was because I called attention to the advertisers him calling for the genocide of everyone in Iraq and the killing of millions of Muslims.( Not terrorists Muslims, just regular Muslims in Indonesia.)
Also his calls for hanging of liberals and killing of people who disagree with him.
Now he whines that his bosses didn’t have the back bone to stand up to Muslim groups. Whereas I would flip that, all the people that stood up for him for years are sick and share some of the responsibility for a culture of acceptance of violence toward people of a different faith. They man had no business on commercially supported broadcast radio. And if he was no decent business had any business being associated with him and his violent rhetoric.
Thanks, but I feel very un”rawk” like these days. I just found out I didn’t get the training gig I pitched last week. My first proposal in months and it didn’t happen. I am grateful I got the call and a chance to bit, but sadly I didn’t get it.
Thanks.
Today the other fired host was On the radio talking about her protest of a Jerry Brown fundraiser attended by Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans. She told about how she and her group protested code pink At a Marine Recruiting station in Berkeley.
I know what happened I helped Code Pink with intel and messages
This host claimed 5,000 supporters came to the event. Total BS. Max 800 and that is Generious. More like 500 or 600. Lying is just what she does.
Best healing vibes I can muster CT. Coalition for Low Income Housing trying to acquire a talented grad from Ohio State Univ. who has 10 years of Yoga, Reiki, spiritual healing Somatic exercise and various spiritual therapies and much more. I will as her to pray for your Sis.
And a hearty message of gratitude with the hope that your good wishes will soften the heart a sway the judgement of the judge in our favor! Thanks Margot, CT and Spocko.
That Was Yesterday is far and away my favorite Foreigner song and always brings back the memory of when & where I heard it first – New York’s legendary dance club The Saint circa 1988. Thanks to whoever selected it for presentation this evening!
Cheers!
Congrats, CE…!
Hey CT! How are you this evening?
Fessing up is good for the soul, or so I am told…
I have all of the Foreigner albums on vinyl. Still.
New Robert Plant
Cheers to you Christine…and is there something specific we are celebrating..please tell!
And the worst song in the history of recorded music.
..and a good audio system to match I hope!
Awesome, newt…! I wish I’d possessed even a quarter of the vinyl, I’d bought over the years…! ;-)
Just survival of this day. First day of classes with our new M.A. students — they are very enthusiastic!
Somehow I still have the over-performing B&O TX-2 I bought in 1986. I said 1986.
It will not quit.
Foreigner! Reminds me of my high school daze…
Aloha CT and all!
And I’m getting ready to head off to Europe in September, which is always a celebration.
Enthusiasm is a real good thing…but can vex the spirit…congrats on surviving…
WOW…take care of a thing and treat it well and it returns the favor…cool!
Speaking of which… Next Sunday’s LLN will be my take on the worst cover song ever…! ;-)
I will stipulate that it must be performed by actual Professionals mangling it…! 8-)
a single country tour or many?
Aloha, LL…! How’s Virginny doing…? Sweltering…? ;-)
Sounds interesting CT…
Then you will have to follow that up with the best cover naturally!

Actually no, not at the moment — and we’re expecting the coolest day since early June, on Tuesday, with some rain. Ah, refreshing…how are the isles?
Monday nite then…? ;-)
AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…

The fun tour of the Norwegian fjiords sounds great…a photographic nirvana
Man turns plastic back into oil.
Why not!!!
*knock on wood* I’m truly surprised at how quiet the hurricane season has been to date…! Considering the heat levels recorded this year, we haven’t seen the typical release mechanisms…!
That sounds great, Chris — what an opportunity! Hope you get some great pictures…have always wanted to see that part of the world.
Oh, I am so looking forward to planes, trains and ferries! This year has been intense at work, and I’ve only had a few days off. This two week trip will be a restorative, I hope.
evenin Norske…
Hey LL! I can’t wait. This will be totally new from our always French getaway.
Yep — the latest, Danielle, is not projected to be a threat to the east coast at all. Wonder what September will bring, if anything?
With the trip you have planned, I think it will be very restorative and healthy…
Aloha, Comrade Norske….! Always a pleasure…!
I sincerely hope that the ‘Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran’ crew cool their jets a tad…! ;-)
