The Republicans in my state must be getting tired of being out-crazied by the South Carolina variety, because this just might be the most awesome piece of wingnuttia I’ve seen in years.
State Rep. Debbie Riddle, R-Tomball, was on CNN last night talking about a plot involving pregnant women from other countries traveling to America as tourists to give birth, and then raising the babies as terrorists.
Terrorist anchor babies. It’s like a wingnut multi-layer chocolate cake with hot fudge on top.
Quick – repeal the 14th!!!! We’ll deal with all them gay atheist pornographers later.
But unfortunately for Riddle, she wasn’t on Hannity.
The “terrorist baby” plot was met with skepticism by CNN Host Anderson Cooper. He repeatedly questioned Riddle for proof. She said she is still gathering information but said she was made aware of the scheme from former members of the FBI. She refused to reveal her sources.
[…]
“When your folks called me in the preliminary, that was part of the conversation,” Riddle said. “They did not tell me you were going to grill me on specific information that I was not ready to give to you tonight. They did not tell me that, sir.”
Love that.
Why should I have actual evidence and facts to back up my right-wing conspiracy porn? It fits my worldview and it sounds right and reinforces my own ideological prejudices. Isn’t that good enough?

That is the cutest little terrorist evah!
I always thought Malkin was a terrorist.
Riddle is apparently better spoken than Palin, but Palin set the insanity bar to a new level and Riddle has jumped over it. With eloquence and panache, too. Also.
Good On Cooper (throws up a little in my mouth to say that) for asking a ‘Kouric’ of Riddle.
FB friend had me chuckling with this earlier in the day
‘al-cryda’, I like it
Heh.
There are a bunch of strikes against her: anchor baby, furrin’ parents, non-white, female.
No matter if there is evidence or not…
Um, would it not just make tracking a would-be easier? If the child is born here, does that not give us “starter” info?
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) started the baby terrorist meme, but Anderson Cooper couldn’t get him. So they invited the hapless State Rep. Debbie Riddle, who really had nothing to say about baby terrorists but probably jumped at the chance to be on CNN.
And remember with Louie, the ‘t’ is silent.
She is she is!!!
is Pile his middle name?
it’s a terrist plot! Someone has been sneaking around all the insane asylums and releasing the inmates. It’s the only answer to why there’s so many fucking loons out there! Maybe Slim Whitman’s yodelling will make their heads explode. Hey, it’s worth a try!
lol lol lol!
LOL
I knew a number of the MD’s that appear in House of God (the characters are composites). Their funniest acronym was GOMER. Get Out of My Emergency Room.
Shorter Debbie Riddle: “I’m a freaking fruitcake.”
Terrorist Babies vs. Truthers.
The new Alien vs. Predator
Y’know this is kind of the perfect right wing lie.
It has everything right wingers love to shriek about:
Babies
Terror
Immigrants
Scary Mexicans
Scary Welfare Mommies
Scary Muslims
Scary Mexican Muslim Terror Babies on Welfare
What a cutie but I am still not distracted: “America’s Biggest Jobs Program — the U.S. Military.” Think job best-shoring (US is not a best shore in this paradigm) has anything to do with driving this? We should be hearing about those Activist Judges about now …
“How dare you question my baseless allegations!”
Alexander Haig was first, first, first. I remembered this from longago, maybe was from The Nation. I found a citation, but can’t access much more than this:
March 20, 1981
WASHINGTON, Thursday US SECRETARY of State Alexander Haig has accused the Kremlin of maintaining camps for thousands of “embryo terrorists” in the Soviet Union, Eastern Europe and Libya. Stepping up his attack on alleged Soviet support for terrorism, Mr Haig said . . .
{ palm slap to forehead } So Alexander Haig is responsible for all those so-bad-they’re-good “Demon Seed” flicks!
Here’s a YouTube link to the exchange: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7A5Z1QnXhx8
Yeah, that sounds like the Tomball I know alright. I’m sure not everybody there feels that way but it is one heck of a right wing community, repleat with American flags and huge, ostentatious crosses.
Hmmm….does this mean that the wingnuts are actually finally accept an exception to the no abortions rule?
As a writer, it occurs to me that this may spawn a cottage publishing industry: books on how to raise your terrorist baby. Maybe “Jihad: The First Few Steps” or “Osama bin Laden’s Baby and Child Care.” Which comes first: potty training or being able to dismantle and reassemble an AK-47 while blindfolded? Terrorist moms everywhere want to know; out of the goodness of my heart I offer these ideas free of charge.
American flags are right wing?
Make sure all of those babies are on the NO Fly list! We don’t need exploding diapers!!
Please make it stop…
Certainly not but constantly displaying them seems to be a right wing trait.
Looks like Rush will be avoiding the Big Apple for a while.
I always suspected babies were dangerous.
Look I’m a conservative but this is too much already. The GOP used to be the party in the forefront of equal opportunity for all. But this kind of unmittigated nonsense is pure unadulterated proof that the party has been highjacked by total lunaticks. You’re talking about babies. No one can tell what a baby will grow up to be. Once you allow fear and hate into your heart you are done. This reminds me of a time when the white supremacists were trying to have keep their women pregnant so that they could make more racist children. Come on folks let’s get real. If we ever get invaded by an enemy force they are not going to stop to ask if we are on their side or not. They are going to come to kill all of us. We may have some different beliefs but we are still “ALL” americans. That’s what I wore the uniform for and that is what I believe. Most of us have common sense. But some people are stupid, some people are really stupid but this person is really really stupid.
Great minds and all that;

manchurian babies for all.
There needs to be a significant and loud protest against the language Lindsey Graham is using in this discussion. He keeps talking about women who illegally come to the US to “DROP BABIES” as if the mother was a horse who “dropped” a colt in the pasture. I think the proper and respectful term is “GIVE BIRTH” or perhaps “Deliver”
His language is dehumanizing, and it is intentional. He used it on the Senate Floor last week, and in an interview, and no one called him out.
sorry, stupid isn’t as bad as this stuff. the wingers have rumors running around their fringes that Pres. Obama is a manchurian candidate, it’s part of the refusal to accept his Hawaiian birth certificate, claiming that he was originally given that birth certificate so that he could grow up to project all the hypnotic power myths that the right associates with his background. They are no stupider than any telehost playing on this theme.
Terror Babies are underrepresented.
Terror Baby shows = 1
911Truth.org = 2257 articles on 1 site
LOL!!!
Good one! Someone should ask that question to one of them. Bet it would get their heads spinning around like that scene in a movie (Poltergiest maybe??) and would be fun to watch!!
Absolutely!
Yes, it is intentional.
The right wing is almost always very careful in the language they choose.
Yea, I have noticed that too … he’s just presenting yet another angle to be exploited for the war on women by the imMoral minor
Majority.The embryonic fascist state?
spermataZoroastrian no doubt.
Let’s see.. we’ve seen a fine quantity of nut-bags out of the South these days but clones?? This dumb-ss sounds and looks like a Louie Gohmert clone?? Is this possible where all fetuses in texas are abandoned at birth??
texas is like the big brother of chimpy’s scum pond out on his ranch in crawdad… but maybe chimpy’s ranch is expanding??!! Now all of texas is a cesspool?? But that wouldn’t really be news would it??
Thank you for saying this. I get far too many email forwards from rightwing folks I know that espouse inane stuff just like this. Honestly I do not want to be rude, but it sometimes seems like the lunatics are running the asylum (no offense to the mentally ill).
And I personally find it very offensive to get rightwing email after rightwing email telling me as a liberal to get out of “their” country. I get so many of these types of emails that it is no longer a joke or a laughing matter.
I feel like dreaded liberals like many of us who post here at FDL are truly concerned about our nation and ALL the citizens. We are trying to make it a better place for everyone.
But so many rightwing missives that I get, especially since Obama was elected, are just nutty crazy things along with “get out of MY country you eeeevul liberal.”
This lady just reminds me of that birther nutcase, Orly Taitz, who also gets revered and venerated by some elements of the Republican party.
Of course, it’s all done as a distraction from how all the “small people” are being ripped off by the billionaires and the corporations. But it’s getting really old to have the lunatic fringe being taken “seriously” by all and sundry. The media is bottom-feeding once again. /rant off
(wins the internets for today)
Just block the email addy’s, end of your problem.
You can be friends face to face.
The pain you are incurring can be eliminated by pushing a button.
how do the American people capture the hearts and minds of our Congress ?
I hear you, and I have done so after the endless steady stream of this stuff keeps coming.
My point being: there is no end to the insanity of this junk, and whether I block the emails or not, I think it’s incredibly dysfunctional and deleterious for our nation as a whole to enable, condone, celebrate and support this kind of nutty behavior as if it was perfectly normal, rational and worthy of attention.
That’s all. And I’m glad to see at least one conservative voice a similar feeling to mine. That, to me, is a sign of healthiness.
But thanks for the tip.
Maxed out contributions, PAC’s, and promises of lucrative, future employment?
The original issue was whether persons brought here against their will (to be slaves) were citizens of America. In time we required that they were, so we could end that insanity.
Today we have visitors who are flying through, working on a green card, students or illegally here. It doesn’t make sense to me that these visitors would want their newborn to be an American citizen rather than a citizen of their home country. Combine that with the “anchor baby” issue and it seems there is room for an amendment of the 14th Amendment.
But, with rhetoric like “terrorist anchor baby” or that seen in this post’s discussion, I see little chance for a coherent debate on the more serious aspects of this amendment suggestion.
If an American visits England or China and gives birth there the child is of what nationality? If a Brit or a Chinese woman visits American and gives birth the child is of what nationality?
What’s the matter with Tomball?
Tomball used to be a quiet little country town. Now it’s all shopping centers and car dealerships, with I-45, ten lanes wide, running right through it. It’s no surprise that the people there have gone nuts.
For what it’s worth, the debate on the 14th amendment specifically included Chinese who were not brought here against their will as slaves but were considered by many people at the time as a form of sub human (as were both Irish and Italians when they first immigrated here.)
You really want to use China as a model for our citizenship laws? Or England, for that matter?
I’m certain that her “former FBI” sources got their information from a “Dying NASA Scientist Reveals” Youtube video. That’s where I first learn of every conspiracy theory I believe in!
Debbie Riddle, is doing the impossible-giving that virulent strain of Regressivism which is so uniquely Texan, Lone Star Repulicanism, a bad name. David Michael Green had a recent observation regarding a Steve Forbes Op-ed piece, declaring it was “It was packed with more stupidity than a truckload of Texas Republican party platform photocopies on their way back from Kinko’s…”
I’ll never forgive them for beating us in the State Quarter Finals 14-13 on Penetrations (trips inside the 20) in 1968.
