The defenders of the SEC FOIA inclusion said that the SEC already had the exemption. I would say that if Team Obama wanted to keep a promise of transparency then they should have made sure that it should revoked the so-called right to keep secrets from everyone not in the SEC. I doubt the original promise meant anything more than another case of playing the rubes.
