And to add to that misery, the mosquitoes there were far bigger and more plentiful, even near the 9800′+ peak where snow still abounded.

I’m mass planting a Territorial Seed variety called Renegade. Log straight beans designed for production. Had better luck with it then the Kentucky varieties. Maybe because of our cold nights and overcast mornings. ?. I always planted Kentucky varieties in Colorado. But this climate isn’t their friend. Too much mold right when they should be producing.
I’m also growing French Fillet beans for eating fresh.

We have a quarter steer hand raised by the president of the local Angus association that’s coming in packages in October. 230 lbs. of meat. I’m into bones and stock, so we’ll see what happens with that. The other people can decide not to do bones. I want them.
