  • Deepwater Horizon oil has now hit every Gulf state.

  • Who would have guessed that the cleanup effort is not even close to meeting BP’s promises.

  • The MMS is now known as BOEM, but are they still playing the same old games?

  • Oily bird slide show: People come together to save Gulf Coast’s oil-covered wildlife

  • Beck and Limbaugh are catalyst for death threats against climate scientists.

  • Wall Street campaign contributions to Democrats down 65% from 2 years ago.

  • DoJ could file lawsuit against Arizona as early as today.

  • Adm. Mike Mullen: “I think the biggest threat we have to our national security is our debt.”

  • Obama meeting with Netanyahu today.

  • French parliament to begin debate on veil ban.

  • Have a happy birthday, if you can.

The only reason the DoJ is filing a lawsuit against AZ is to preserve the regal prez.

Mornin’, twolf1, pups

Quite the oiled bird slideshow. Little heavy for so early in the morning. I did like the “Courtesy of BP and Federal Government” sign, though.

Meanwhile, Obama will tell Netanyahu that confiscating Palestinian homes in the West Bank is fine with him.

Motherfuckers, one and all.

Guess I needed all that to keep me gnarly and focused.

Good morning, pups! Back to work this morning, and I had the misfortune to listen to an interview with Maureen Dowd on NPR on my way in. I didn’t know who it was until it was over or I would have turned it off. Interestingly, she sounded like Amy Klobuchar — I thought that’s who it was, although I wouldn’t have expected Klobuchar to be discussing Saudi Arabia.

Now I need to wash my ears out with soap.

I recommend Corexit. I hear it’s perfectly safe — like dish soap. /s

Nepal may have tried to put a damper on the Dalai Lama’s birthday but Buddhist spirituality transcends such measures.

What is it about the Dalai Lama that scares so many bullies? (Rhetorical question)

At end of interview with scientist, Amy asked him about the idea of bombing the BP gusher. He said that it would be highly risky, and that there was far too little knowledge about what the consequences would be. Worst case, it could fracture the whole structure and it could gush even more until the end of time. Then his key sentence: so instead of beaches, we’d have pavement.

Aha, a twofer! Plenty of oil and infrastructure all for the price of one little bomb.

Mornin’ Twolf1 and Firepups:

Not one good thing?

Deepwater Horizon oil has now hit every Gulf state.

If the oil swings around the southern tip of Florida and starts heading north, maybe it will wreck Limbaugh’s ocean front property in Palm Beach. That would be something good, right?

Too hard to explain on “Morning Joe” and “Fox and Friends?” Just guessing…

I would prefer it to the alternative. I will be retiring in two months and I am looking forward to my “next chapter.”

Inconveniencing Rush Limbaugh isn’t worth all of the wildlife it would kill or livelihoods it would ruin. It would be ironic justice in a way but Limbaugh would just hire some day laborers at less than minimum wage to clean it up. Better yet, he’d threaten a few Florida Republicans and the federal government will clean it up for free and give him a written apology and fluff his pillow.

The whites made sure they’d lose nothing in the change. The ANC really fucked up making deals with the former government, who ended up retaining control of the economy.

BTW, honey has a lot of medical uses as well, but USG won’t authorize it for those. Well, except for the honey produced by a big drug company, I think it’s Pfizer.

DoD’s cost cutting claims sound laughable, they aren’t going to end the needless and costly wars/occupations.

But the most outrageous statement on NPR morning edition came in The economy is growing but momentum has slowed segment.

Normally Congress would boost economic spending increases but…. “The public seems to be getting this deficit cutting religion”

Yup, that’s the ticket, it’s the public that doesn’t want jobs or teachers. Our Dear leader and poor Congress critters are just dying to spend money to fix the economy but that’s just not what the public wants.

Surprised there wasn’t a “Brought to you by Peter G Peterson” tag at the end of the segment.
