when i was still in the bay area, i hosted a couple at my place in boulder creek. the meetups are always such fun — good food, good conversations, and great forking peeps!

It needs more sun at this point for some of the stuff, like corn and green beans and carrots. We had almost three weeks of gorgeous weather, now followed by three weeks of rain and clouds.

I did a Seminal post on today’s anniversary of Palin’s resignation announcement. It hasn’t gone anywhere. I hope that is auspicious in terms of where she’s going.

Hi Nahant this has been an interesting story…your Hawk family and as I was jogging up the hills above Los Osos on the deep sand horse trails I spotted what I thought was a red tailed hawk that flew from it’s perch atop a clump of California Oaks. From that viewpoint the whole valley, the bay, sandspit up the coast could be surveyed. That is one reason I have been jogging up there it is a nature preserve as well filled with Morro Bay Manzanita and home to thousands scrub dune birds,insects, lizards and many rare and endangered plants and animals. The coastal fog and nitrogen fixing root nodules have kept it going for hundreds of thousands of years (ancient dunes). Have not seen the mountain lions happy to say.

Where I have been jogging the brush is very thick. There is plenty of game for them to live on so humans are more work. No attacks since I have lived here…lot of people hike up there as well. Might get a noise maker…I would not be a tender morsel compared to a young rabbit. G)
