The details are still being worked out, and we have to wait and see the language, but it does appear that the House did secure more disclosure, on an ongoing basis, for the Fed’s activities. Late yesterday, at the conference committee, lead Senate negotiator Chris Dodd announced that his side would accept several provisions that would add transparency to the Fed.

Stop the BP Bailout: 50,000 Petition Signatures by Next Week |
| By: Michael Whitney Thursday June 17, 2010 7:01 am |
While the President reiterated that $20 billion isn’t a cap, it’s important to know how much more BP could and should pay. One analyst said it could be as much as $63 billion; I suspect and hope it will be in the hundreds of billions. That’s why it’s important we make clear BP should be responsible for every dime of damage from its disaster. Anything less is a taxpayer funded bailout of BP. Can you add your name and help us reach 50,000 signatures before we deliver our petition to the Senate next week?

Late Night: Oh, What the Hey, Let’s Make Fun of Chuck Norris |
| By: Thers Wednesday June 16, 2010 8:00 pm |
As is well known, I dislike America, and Jesus — though, oddly enough, I quite sincerely love Chuck Norris. Hate the dumbass, love the bigot, to paraphrase, in a perhaps not entirely precise analagy, religious people who don’t think homosexuals deserve equal rights in the land of the free and the home of the straight, [...]
