The Brian Setzer Orchestra — Pipe Line.
What’s on your mind tonight?
Aloha, Suz…!
Now, Suzanne, that is NOT the Ventures that I grew up with!
Hi Suz, aloha CT!
Saw Brian Setzer when he was still in the Stray Cats opening up for SRV back in ’89…good stuff.
Interesting read…
Study: Americans taking longer to grow up
YO yo yo.
SoCal rumbling tonight!
Aloha, LL…! How’s Virginny doing…?
Still into the three H’s here (hazy, hot, humid) — and I’m already looking forward to autumn ;-) How’s Hilo?
Read about that in the last thread — all good thoughts to everyone out there!
This is true — I know many who still have adult children at home. It could have been me if MrCE had not rescued me from graduate school and created a home for us two nerdy history kids.
hey folks — just a sorta drive by tonight *ample apologies*
how’s everyone doing tonight? wtf is up with twitter — i’ve not been able to tweet since shortly after 8pm
Hey Suzanne,
How are you?
Still unsettled here…
Doing fine Suz, hope you are too!
Suz!
I would think!
((( Loo Hoo ))) glad you’re ok, aside from your glasses…
Great vid Suz . . . . love me Brian Setzer, Stray Cats, and them Bone’s Just Rawhked!
I got a few quarters for the juke box I saved up, gonna slay Kelly if he shows up.
I’ll share them once he’s reared his horns . . . ;-)
And Bless Loo Hoo, glasses, and San Diego . . . my honey’s bestest friend forever is down there, I won’t know till tomorrow how she and hers are . . . .
On with the show . . .
Hiya CE and newt!
LL, CE, howdy.
Thanks, Larue. I just freaked out and stepped on my glasses. (An expense I really didn’t need!)
shit, nasa has a repo man out there repossessing the ‘goodwill’ moon rocks that nasa had previously given to folks
Thanks everyone, for your best thoughts. We never know when we’re up, do we? Best thoughts today for the folks in Oklahoma…
You have every right. I’ve been through a couple Large Ones and it really takes time to get over them. Be very good to yourself!
Hiya LL, Newt!
Cheers!
I’m eye impaired too, I can’t function without mine.
I have some left over from 10 years ago, just so I’ll have a back up if my present one’s go bad.
And I have the last two pairs, too . . . . our eyes are so important, hope yours will be better fast!
Interesting like a month ago there was a big on as the two plates moved near the USA/Mex border.
We live on two faults one 6.8 the other 7.3 if either goes then the planned $300.00 a month gravity sewer will be useless.
Hiya Suze, been giving them a hard time in the last thread, still looking for that grumpy chef dude, Larue. He made himself scarce at my place and I am intersted in finding out why.
Glad to see Loo Hoo is only shaken and not stirred.
I might stick around for a little bit but I gotta work tomorrow.
Smooch.
We had a teeny tiny earthquake here in NoVA a few years back, and it freaked everyone out. My best to you and everyone out there in CA who has to deal with them on a semi-regular basis.
I pinged manager from April 1 interview again today, told her position was still showing up on web site… Position has been filled and she got HR to remove the position.
Better than the ambiguity she sent 3 weeks back.
dood — he’s on this thread even
*smooches backatcha babe*
In NorCal, we used to lawn-surf when they would hit.
When you’re in HS, anything is fun.
shit
life. At least I know she’s hired someone.
Yeah, I know.
Subtle, ain’t I?
LOL!
lol! fer sure ;-)
That’s a wierd story, not sure I get it . . . . . but the worth ($5 million each) and the 215 rocks that are MISSING, is a story.
I don’t get why repo is in the game, but I bet SOMEone is trying to get rich on this one.
Bastards! ;-)
You got too many loons, hoss . . . . ;-)
It’s not fun for me when the loons loom large.
;-)
Some honky tonk music, for no other reason than it just popped up in my head
Settin’ The Woods On Fire
Well, ya grumpy old hash slinger, you can still stop by and say howdy fer chrissakes, I thought you were pissed off at me for some reason.
That about sums him up…! ;-)
Dayam the pedal steel alone is worth the listen!!
Great pick LL! Love me Honky Tonkin Musics!
Campfire jam material, oh yeah!!!!
Good stuff, ain’t it? *g* Glad you like!
honky tonk
Hey Suz,
Don’t get me wrong, I love Setzer. But there was a subtlety to a lot of original surf music often lost by today’s practicioners. And Brian hits it with a hammer when a gentle caress would do better.
Witness a goofy video of the original recording of Pipeline, you’ll hear what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j09C8clJaXo
hugs Loo Hoo, I hope your night is quiet. I hate to hear about the glasses.
dude
long time…
Can’t get enough of that sound Suz :-D
hey steve — how ya been dood? haven’t seen your fonts in a long time.
that’s some sweet ear candy — wow
Oh, you just wait, calling him a Hash Slinger will light him right up!
I do know how to push buttons.
If ya can’t tell, I have a certain affection for him, even though he is grumpy, he is a nice guy.
Just don’t tell him I said that, I can’t make a decent sauce to save my ass.
Larue,
Is it true that your are a grumpy chef? Do tell!
Hiya Steve, long time no see, glad to see ya lurking around like me.
i heard the only spice you ever use is tabasco
The Ghastly Ones.
Newton, Suz, been busy, moving, finishing a huge studio project.
Hey, I know, I’ll pimp it out to you guys: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/photo-diaries-recording-studio-construction-projects/341598-bridge-recording-studio-build.html
Newton: main machine is 8 core Mac running ProTools HD7 (7 cards in expansion chassis). I even pulled fiber everywhere, in case we expand to a fiber-based SAN at some point.
soothing for loohoo
Evening all.
Loo, sorry about the glasses. Unnerving when the ground beneath you is unstable.
Grumpy at least…! ;-)
Not true, I have a cabinet full of Chili powder too.
Some western swing for y’all
dayam dood, that’s busy and wow, nice open space to make into what you want
ok, two but really, chili powder is just dried tabasco sauce
Don’t get him started on the rue…! ;-)
Oh man, suz.. Betcha you just stirred the pot :-)
We have a Penzy’s that recently opened, and I found Chesapeake “Old Bay” spice. Oh, I miss blue crabs steamed with Old Bay.
more honk tonk
Aye, I made that mistake once…….
Good to see you too!
Nah, hoss, I was pissed off at some folks, and then, I was pissed off at myself for being pissed off.
I did a few years on a bluegrass site that was really right wing aside from the music.
It burnt me out trying to joust them.
When it started to happen at your site, I fled.
I can’t change them, they can’t change me.
And frankly, there’s not much in between to deal with.
I’ve decided to play where my opinions and beliefs are in a majority.
I don’t need the aggravations of others anymore, in my life.
But I’ll defend you, and their right, to say what they will . . .
You run a good show, hoss, a great show. But I just can’t take the strain no mo.
Hope ya grok . . . . I need to have a better state of mind.
YOU run a great site, and I wish it many clickies!!!!!
*G*
*smooches*
In that brotherly kinda fraternal back slappin way that I intend . . . .
Le holy crap! Who’s bankrolling this? That’s serious studio design-build! Brave to build a new scoring stage in this biz climate.
Oh CE, I miss blue crabs and everything associated with them, ever since I developed a shellfish allergy at age 29 :-( Phillips crabcakes were a fave…
well what’s the point of having a forking stir stick if ya don’t forking stir every once in a while
The HAYALL ya phookin say yas burnt sauce monster fer crying out loud ya don’t know what a saute pan is for DO ya!!!!!! (said n his best wicked Brit Chef Reality Show mad dude).
Hells Kitchen! Don’t go there!!! ;-)
*love*
Me too! I LOVE crabcakes and seek them out here in Cleveland. Believe it or not, I found a great place. But I miss soft shell crabs from DE, Lewes in particular, and Rehobeth Beach.
Gold. Campfire gold.
Sigh, no festing and campfires till Labor Day . . .
Worst festing season I’ve ever had since I started . ..
/whine
Larue, I was teasin’ ya while you were gone but ya know it’s all just for fun.
Love ya too, in a manly way.
LOL!
General J.G. Christian would approve.
LMFAO!!
Larue, Salud my friend.
Private $$.
Main reason is 3 facilities closed the last 2 years: Paramount Stage M, Todd AO-CBS Rodford, which were BIG stages on the lots, and a private studio called OHenry. First 2 were demolished, last is in the hands of a trustafarian who won’t let anyone in.
The Bridge will handle a 75 piece orchestra without breathing hard, and the majority of scoring dates are 40-45 pieces.
No better place for blue crabs than the Delaware, Maryland and Virginia waters! I grew up going to Kilmarnock, VA every summer and feasting on crabs from the Chesapeake…
holy moly — how long do ya think it will take to get it all up to snuff?
Sounds smart. Glendale location all right for the production companies & the players?
Love Bob Wills!
Here’s something completely different
Hey SteveAudio!
Wow!! Great find Margot!
99% done, doing some last minute wiring additions this week. They’ve been doing test sessions.
Soft shell crabs anyone? The only time I saw them back out of the smaller shell, into a newer, larger carpace (am I right on this?) it amazed me. It was like watching a plane open new wings.
oh dood, you must be beaming like a proud papa
If you know the area, it’s a block east of the 5, a few blocks south of the 134, so it’s just a stone’s throw from Burbank.
He would approve, in a very oiled-wrestler-manly kind of way.
/s
Hey there!
Yep! We’re in the Mix Magazine Class of 2010, so that’s pretty cool. Biggest studio installation I’ve supervised in a long time!
Spectacular construction photos… thanks. That is some serious saw!
Greg Curtis, the owner, started taking pictures 1st day of construction, so we do have loads of pics.
Salud, hoss, with 20 year old Anjeo Blue Agave Tequila.
By the quart.
*G*
Hey, former neighbor!
Someone mentioned them recently and I’d never heard of them, LL.
Excellent! Good luck to you in your venture.
Anyone up for a little Little Richard?
That Bob Wills WAS and is a Classic!
Nice!!!!!
Hell I would, but love you too, M . . . *smooches* as Kelly would say . . . lol
money honey
fuck, i did it again
*le sigh*
‘K Gotta take care of the parents varmints while they are away , Granny is already in bed.
Very nice to see y’all, Steve, nice work man, that is awesome.
Take care Loo Hoo and the rest of you too.
G’thud, I fall down.
Busted
A drinkin’ and fightin’ song from Loretta Lynn
g’thud busted
Ok, No Kelly.
Here’s My Run
Sweet dreams Busted!
Oh, man. Just had to log in again. I guess I missed really good music!
put another log
LOL!
Maybe This Will Help Yer Sorrow!
saw the title and thought it was gonna be this
Aloha, Busted…!
hahaha — The Muppet Show was great, and kinda subversive in a way ;-)
Treme
My dad used to go to his concerts in the early 50s, until Little Richard “turned churchy.”
kinda? *laughing* they carried on the fine tradition from the classic cartoons with stuff for the little kids and a whole ‘nuther layer of stuff for the grownups.
i have basic cable :(
Thinking of our friend in the Gulf region
Boozoo Chavis
shit, i forgot to mention that i have photos of one of my neighbor eagles eating dinner over at my place — click on my name to see em
Great series, made my cry. Nighters.
Nope . . .
Knowin you knowin me, I Woulda Thought Ya Meant This One!
*G*
g’nite ce
Nice pics of the eagle, such a majestic fella.
I gotta scoot too — Thanks Suz, and g’night all!
i was riffin on the title….could have been this one too
g’nite ll
I had a few more disco hits for Kelly, but I guess they didn’t make it into my bookmark for some reason.
That said, all y’all pups be well, thanks Suz for SPECTACULAR duty in holding down LLN.
Love you all, and don’t forget to love, sing, dance and eat and drink like someone IS lookin atacha.
N fuck ‘em, for that . . . too. ;-)
tis my pleasure dood
g’nite larue
Me too. Katrina, and now BP. Tragedy.
Aloha, Sleepers…!
G’nite Grumpy Chef Dude.
BTW, WTF is A Sought Pan?
LMFAO.
See ya folks.
Steve! Good to see you again.
How’s Pam?
Do you actually sleep?
Hugz and good night.
hey jane — how ya doing?
The Muppets are one of a few reasons why i’m such a satire lover today. *grin* I never missed it while i was a kidlet in the early 80s.
Heya all, by the way!
hey alias — muppets lover here too — i blame miss piggy and bugs bunny when i am caught misbehaving
Oh, woman, be careful how you speak…Which dried chilies? From where? Mixed with what other spices and herbs?
You’re treading on dangerous ground……:>.
hey openhope — i was just yanking on his chain :)
Love the eagle and the verbal pic of token’s scarf.
Seriously caught up in SteveAudio’s construction pix…. always enjoy *other people’s* construction. My own, not so much *g*
I do have something that’s been on my mind all day. It was a real revelation to discover there were massive amounts of heavy metals in Afghanistan. The idea of going into Occupation for a pipeline just never made sense.
Rare Earth sure does.
Another mystery solved.
thanks sunny
tis why those home improvement shows are so popular on the teevee machine — i love watching them but not living through them.
That is just their way to justify the occupation.
hey spocko — how ya doing?
Sadly to justify continuing the occupation…! 8-(
Anyone here live in Phoenix? I have a 4 hour lay over there tomorrow on my way home for my uncle’s funeral.
no such thing as cynical enough – dammit!
i’m sorry for your loss spocko. that’s a long layover
Oh, I thought it was a reason for the Occupation. Aside from nailing down the Poppy Traffic the CIA is so fond of as a fundraising vehicle. /s/
I’m a Newbie on Rare Earth but it seems an integral part of all our super technology and yet obtained under primitive conditions. And needed in it’s pure form, no synthetics available. Which is ironic/tragic.
[[[[Spocko]]]]
She’s good, been busy painting our new house!
Good and bad. Had some good correspondance with Johnny Colt on the respirator issue. Also wired just did a story on the health hazards of oil clean up.
Bad going back to The Midwest. I used to love going home, not any more. As I noted to someone else, to them my Spocko accomplishments are nothing more than “politics”. And,since I’m not making money doing this don’t understand why I don’t get a real job selling death goo (like my cousin) and the sad thing is that *I* feel the same way these days. If you have money you can afford values, but if you don’t you work for the Borg. And the Borg by it’s nature doesn’t care about anything but profit this quarter.
I hope you will all forgive me when I start working for the Borg. my Resistance was futile.
oh spocko — resistance is all we have — lets call working the borg being undercover instead
Ricki Ott was on with K.O. today talking about the need for respirators for all the clean up crews in the Gulf…!
