Shouldn’t telling lies on the floor of the House be like, illegal or something?
BROUN: I wanted to put some perspective on 2008, too. That’s when the President’s chief economic adviser — I guess the Treasury Secretary — told him that the sky was falling and that we needed to pass the Toxic Asset Relief Program, or TARP, which many Republicans voted against. I didn’t buy the Democratic Treasury Secretary under a Republican President because that’s exactly what Hank Paulson is. He’s a Wall Street insider, a Wall Street banker. Wall Street believes in big government.
Yeah, Wall Street loves big government, which is why they’re giving so much money to Republicans.
Idiot.

Victoria Jackson is an unfunny moron.
They are ALL unfunny morons.
Good morning, everyone! TGIF.
After I watched that segment last night I wondered as I have on many occasions, why don’t these Republicans’ opponents, both in office and the challengers for their seats, ever get up and point out the lying? I mean if I was running against Broun or Gohemert or Barton or King or any number of them, one of the very first things I would do is run ads about how little these guys respect the intelligence of voters by telling such bald faced, easily debunked, lies.
But in Jackson’s case it’s a double FAIL because she’s supposed to be funny.
Tim Dickinson is guest on democracynow. First Q was: What surprised you most about the O administration and the oil corps. Long pause. Then: that’s a hard Q, there are so many doozies.
well excuse the hell out of me, but with 2 Billion+ tuning in, do you think I could find FIFA Opening Ceremonies on U.S. television ?!?!?
then of course, it is U.S. television saying 26 Billion – on a planet that holds 7B – oy
The wingnuts are uniformly denying any responsibility for their past ten years of disasters, Broun is repeating a strain often heard on the floor. How else could they ask voters to re-elect them? and in Ohmert’s case, he’s right in his estimate of his voters’ intelligence; they did vote him in.
Hey, that event is watched from here to Eta Carina.
It is on ESPN, sports center.
Mornin’, BT, pups
Mandela’s great-granddaughter was killed in an auto crash returning from some sort of ceremony prior to the opening. Her driver was drunk and has been charged. Mandela canceled his appearance at the opening ceremonies.

Broun is from “Deliverance” country, so he can lie with impunity.
Where family trees are a straight line.
We put that ‘his family tree has no branches’.
That would explain a lot.
a ha ! and I was thinking Live Streaming to Alpha Centauri
go on line to espn3.com. It’s streaming live right now. The first game will also be streamed live at 9:30 easter time this morning. There’s a whole schedule there, you can even watch some of the ‘friendlies’ from the past week.
thanks. we have dvr set for the Game – but can’t seem to find Opening Ceremony half the planet is tweeting about X~o
but apparently Joran Van Der Sloot is being rescued in the Southern Indian Ocean
tried that with no luck. apparently as a Time Warner customer, we are ‘undesirables’
I’m not a big fan of NASA administrator Charles Bolden. We went from an engineer who is an industry shill to an ex astronaut who can’t seem to do anything but talk to school kids. When the field had been whittled down to two, I supported Obama over Clinton because he talked a better game on science and space exploration. I always knew he wasn’t a progressive. If I was fooled, it was on that subject. *sigh* One of these days I’m hoping that we’ll actually get to elect someone who wants to put science back where it belongs.
“apparently Joran Van Der Sloot is being rescued in the Southern Indian Ocean”
my theory; reporters like the news from exotic places for the travel
espn3.com says coverage starts at 9:30ET.
Real bummer. We have c**cast here (hate to admit it, but that’s what’s in the neighborhood).
And he does have a perty mouth!
DVR – engaged !
*shudder*
My silly cat is being a nutbar today. Maybe it was that attack by swallows yesterday when she tried to raid their nest but Kuroneko is running around like a Dervish.
You heard that from Larry Craig!
Channel 402 on Direct TV…It is in Spanish
Hmmmm, couldn’t be because so many people are falling off the UI rolls while pitifully few new jobs are being created due to the deficit hawks could it? Watch the stock market free fall and then watch congress and dear leader throw more tax payer money at them instead of at the problem.
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.

Truly I tell you, Inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me. ~Matthew 25:40 (Lamsa Bible)
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
Yep. We can starve but the gold cuff links crowd has to be saved at all costs.
And another innocent life extinguished by the wonderful “war on drugs“.
Very soon now that’s what’s going to happen to me in all reality. I’m trying to find a home for my cat so she doesn’t starve in my car beside me.
Cool. I get the gist of what they’re saying, even if I don’t know all the words. Besides, you don’t need to understand the announcer if you understand the game.
I wont even go past the headline – but didn’t LAPD officially change policy/procedure not that long ago that these chases were to end ???
Car chase over a drug deal? Fuckin’ assholes. LAPD will be all over how dangerous the dealers are, which justifies chases through neighborhoods. Assholes.
Heck if I know. What difference does policy ever make? HPD said years ago that they were going to stop chasing people for traffic violations yet they do it every day and always figure out a reason why it was okay to ignore policy “in this case”.
Ever notice how PDs never make a mistake and all actions are justified?
Yep. No doubt they were selling meth cut with potassium cyanide to school kids on their way home from church where they are in the choir and help blind seniors cross streets in their spare time.
All the time…. Doesn’t even matter which city you live in. The one cop I’ve seen prosecuted recently was a San Antonio cop who was driving his squad car drunk, (it was the second time he’d been caught doing that), and he had a whole lot of complaints of which he’d always been cleared of wrongdoing. The only reason they had to do something was because it was another police department that busted him with DUI. Complaints from citizens? Pffft! Don’t make me laugh.
Maybe the graph is upside down?
Love and Kisses,
Larry Summer.
Oh, man. That’s about 2 or 3 miles from where I live. Everything’s too close to home these days. You’re right about the cops doing whatever they want too. We’ll have another big pay out to the family that won’t make up for their loss and the citizens will pay. And, the citizens will pay. It’s like a mantra for these days.
We’ve had 2 fatal shootings of unarmed people by the heat in the last year and each was cleared by internal shooting investigations. They end up paying $100K (limit established by FL legislature) in wrongful death lawsuits. The taxpayers foot the bill so the heat get off clean.
That’ll please the teabaggers. Meanwhile:
New post up top…
“It was a justifiable use of force. The officer stopped twice. To reload. A clear demonstration of remarkable restraint.”
- um – or, can’t NOT lie with impunity?
i wish i were kidding, but summa doze folk don’t play fair at all atall, especially with the tee bags simmering in ze swamps.
priorities would appear to be a moving target these days.
p. e. a. c. e. to all pups.
[news bulletin: i think. i do truly believe. we have sold our dear little house. no cheers, yet, while the ink dries. it only took 11 long long months]

epu-land. good place for me today.
bye. carry on the banner pups.
congrats to Jane for grabbing s’more teevee time. Whoot!
But Obama said the economy is in recovery. Just last month 41,000 new private sector jobs were created. Just because 100,000 are actually needed to reflect population growth merely obscures the awesome progress being made. Thanks Barak for all that you do.
Why shouldn’t the president call Sarah Palin for advice on oil industry regulations? As the old saying goes, “Set a thief to catch a thief.”
Hank Paulson was a Bush Pioneer fer chrissake.
I noted with some cynicism what appears to be the new meme re BP and the oil gushing volcano: on both KO and Tweety (yes, how did I get sucked into that black hole of mediocrity???) – neither of which I watched for more than about 10 min – there was *breathless* reportage about how BP is a big source of pension income for Britain’s seniors.
So I’m just waiting for the other shoe to drop: NOW if we DFH’s want to demand that BP, you know, pay for the clean up, etc, we DFH’s are essentially sending British grannies to death panels and chucking her down the shute.
You wait ‘n see… I see it comin’ at us. Of course, NO ONE said boo about the undoubtedly GIANT salary Tony Hayward & all the other top fat-cat CEOs are raking in annually, plus stock options and already etched in cement golden handshakes when they get fired for incompetence or retire or whatever. Well, certainly wouldn’t want to *inconvenience* Tony Hayward; after all, poor baby (sniff sniff), he’s already not “having his life,” poor baby…
So we wouldn’t expect British granny’s pension to be fortified by CUTTING the BP fat-cat paychecks, now would we? No, better it should come from sacrifices from US citizens who no longer have jobs because of BP’s incompetence, slackerness, and criminality.
Silly rabbit, the law only applied to the little people, not so called legislators.
If telling lies on the Floor were a illegal, the House would be empty.
