another soggy nite on the bay — fine by me — i don’t melt. weather dood is predicting dry and sunny 70 on friday and dry and hot 87 sat for portland. i won’t get that hot but the warmth will be nice.

Kewl here, again, down to 60F at this time.

Not too hot today, a bit kewler tomorrow, then jump from hi 70′s tomorrow to lo 90′s and up from there beginning Friday. Tonight cooled off so fast we had to close windows and doors! But it’s the last of the lot, I’m afraid. Summer’s here, on Friday. ;-)

River is up pretty high, too.

I found them from KPIG online in the early 00′s.
Being an old Jim Kweskin fan, I took to them immediately with that jug band style.

We’re in good shape, rains are over, reservoirs are MOSTLY full, but releasing as needed for snow melt or mountain rains.

A decent water year helps us . . . we could use two or three more, though, without flooding, but this IS a semi-arid state for the most part . . . . wet up there?

The river isn’t dangerously high. But it could happen if it gets hot and rains as the snow melts in the mountains. Perfect storm.

Just checked, yeah, yer right. I don’t have any of their music . . . . I gotta see if there’s any live shows of theirs to grab . . . . out there . . . ;-)

CNN did a story on some of the sick workers today. What is infuriating is the comments from the state air quality people. The reporters don’t ask, “Why are people getting sick if the air is fine? Could it be something about WHERE the air is measured? Or when?” Christ it’s as if 9/11 Ground Zero never happened.

Yeah, that happened in ’86 didn’t it? Earlier in the spring? 12 or more straight days of pineapple express, melting snow. Our apt complex was flooded 6′ deep I’m told (we moved here in ’88).

I’m doing well, thanks. Just ordered another batch of 25 Cornish-Cross broiler chickens. I guess I’m morphing into a Chicken Outlet in my AARP age!!! Didn’t see that one coming ! :>
Now that I’ve actually killed a chicken I own my Chicken Killing Strategy, so I’m free of constant advice on killing. It’s more private now. :> It’s all good.

The rivers are back in their banks, but they sure left a muddy mess behind. I live two blocks from the river that appears in the first few photos, fortunately on higher ground. Our street was under water during the height of the storm and water was up a few feet into the yard and driveway.

i’m doing well. am looking at a box of books that showed up in my mailbox… with a happy face.

i really enjoy hosting LLN — doesn’t feel like a duty at all. and i’ve got the mod squad watching the mod — is always a nice feeling to be able to just play in the lln thread.

i’m at the in between mode myself…. if i didn’t have some quiet do nothing time i would be bat shit crazy. luckily, i gots lotsa that living out here in the boonies. don’t think i could do city life again. when i was young, i loved living in san francisco…. now, i appreciate eagles for neighbors and bird calls instead of buses. as tourist season ramps up, i’ll have more rv’s and the like headed up to the cape but as long as i’m only hearing that and not seeing it, it’s good.

Yes. The rivers are all back in their banks, but they are still running muddy. Our end of the Comal will clear out first, as soon as the normally dry creek that runs into it goes back to being dry. It will take just a few days and then the springs will make the water all sparkly and clear again. We will just have all that mud and refuse left behind on the land to clean up. And a few vehicles and trees to pull out of the water.

I’m so sorry, Gnome de Plume.
In our area we have many houses built with high foundations to withstand the flood waters. But, it seems like those were the “old time” floods.Now they’re regular events. I’m of the opinion that it was the era before all the trees were harvested on all the mountains, hills and valleys.
