Interview with biotech company went fairly well. They don’t expect to hire any one for this position until after June.

Spain looked sharp, crisp passing, lots of movement – they are ready. They should be top contenders in the WC.

I can’t wait for November Rahm will say that he doesn’t need our or the Union vote then after he loses he will blame us for any Dem losses. Whats weird is because of the Tea baggers dragging the GOP right I think we can win seats.

I absolutely am not giving up. Feeling a bit puny for a few hours is all. I’ve got skills that are really needed by someone.

I’ve contacted several former colleagues about job postings at their current companies… Suggested that a systems engineering position up in Oakland would work for me to guy that screened me beginning of May for a performance position. It would be good to be in a National Lab again, and the experience maintaining and administrating another companies supercomputers would be good, even though the work is something I’d done back in 1995.

Yeah, well, I did the compulsive gardener thing last fall and mounded up my beds. I do dirt mounding instead of raised beds. Boy, did that pay off this spring when the ground was soggy but the 8″ mounds of dirt were dry. I’m kicking ass .If we get decent weather the next few weeks I can feed the world!!. I’ve never had an early garden this sprouting; do to mounds sitting above the mud.

I care about issues and ethics and the sick men and women who push the sick views like torture. The fact that I have to say torture is wrong and argue about why I’m fighting that to my mother tells me how powerful the right wing radio hosts are and how weak the Catholic church has become. They should be the moral high ground on torturing people they haven’t tortured in centuries. My mom is a devout catholic and that should be on her list of sins. But Rush and his “blowing off steam” gets to her first. He is 3 hours x 5 days Church is once each 7.

I listened to a couple of presentations on the likely effect of 14; one was a debate. It’s not at all clear what its effect will be, and I suspect its most important consequences will be unintended.

Some claim that it’ll keep all but the Dems and Repubs off the future ballots. Some claim that we’ll get more centrist candidates, i.e., that it will eliminate “zig-zag campaining,” where the candidates pitch to their base during the primaries and that shift to the center for the general election.

—the Democrats continue to be dominated by their conservative wing which, in coalition with the Republicans lead to the dominance of conservative policies, despite their unpopularity.

What this all adds up to is more of the same. Probably more of the same for the next decade.

Tomorrow I’ll probably have some positive things to write. Right now, though, I’m just disgusted.
