Erick Erickson predicts the armed forces are going all Seven Days in May because Obama’s letting teh gay in.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff are in open and public rebellion against the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs over Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. [...] Remember how leakers from the CIA did their best to undermine George Bush? When this starts happening with reckless abandon from the Pentagon, Obama will be in serious trouble.
So the Joint Chiefs suddenly outrank the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, the Secretary of Defense and the President. Good to know the chain of command!
The public already suspects the man is weak. Our enemies know he is weak. The man clearly holds the military in contempt, but the public hasn’t paid attention to the issue.
Now actual objective polling, as opposed to what Erickson pulls out of his ample ass, shows the following approval numbers on Obama’s foreign policy: Iraq (51/38), terrorism (51/39), Afghanistan (49/39), relationships with other countries (58/32). So “the public” that Erickson is referring to must be limited to the poll he took of his Uncle Jim Bob, his barber Skeeter, and the stuttering manchild Trey, who works at the bait shop in Bugtussle.
In a very short time we will see the military bureaucracy go to war with Obama on the battlefield of public opinion.
It’s one thing to ignore the Gulf Coast states. They aren’t going to vote for him anyway. Military issues are swing state issues.
And he will lose.
Sure he will, Erick.
In a Gallup poll in May, 70% of the public —including 53% of self-described conservatives— favored allowing openly gay men and women to serve, up 30 percentage points since 1993.
Why is America so gay?
