BP Says “NO” to EPA on Dispersants: Who’s in Charge?

Either EPA needs to say, “we’ve examined the response and based on our own investigation we agree that alternatives meeting our criteria are not available and so authorize BP to continue using its dispersant” . . . or . . . EPA needs to say “we do not agree and BP shall immediately cease its use of the dispersant and comply with our order.”

Now, what’s happening on June 8? It’s the day of Blanche Lincoln’s primary runoff against Bill Halter. So if the conference doesn’t start until that day, she can claim all she wants that her “tough” derivatives title “will pass,” contrary to the belief of pretty much everyone following the issue.

He promises accountability not just for BP, but for those in government who bore responsibility.

In case you haven’t heard, today Rand Paul became only the third “major guest” in history to bail on Meet The Press, pleading “exhaustion.” At first that seems kind of strange, but it’s really not all that surprising when you consider that he spent most of the last few days sticking his foot all the way into his mouth, then trying to pull it back out again… while tap dancing.
