The Sunday Talking Heads include the usual list of suspects and people whose views have proven to be so insightful in the past. So I’d like to ask all the elected and Administration officials the following question(s) about their connection to several BP Oil Disaster stories.

The solution ideas to date have been straight out of the Wile E. Coyote Acme School of BP Profitology.
There is a lot of experience in controlled implosions under a variety of circumstances. Would it be harder a mile under the sea? Sure, but if we have the technology to be drilling there and two miles further down from the sea floor, then we ought to be able to figure this out too. If it destroys BP’s precious well, that is just an extra benefit; they don’t deserve it anyway.

Who’s afraid of Sarah Palin? According to Sr. K. J. Lopez, OLSB*, LIBERAL BROADS. When Sarah Palin speaks, liberal feminists go wild. We do? Why, I suppose we do. We go wild. HI-01: Election Results Tonight; High Turnout |
| By: David Dayen Saturday May 22, 2010 5:00 pm |
After the DCCC pulled out of the special election in HI-01, most political observers turned their attentions elsewhere. The race, which features two major Democrats and one major Republican in a winner-take-all election, was essentially conceded to Charles Djou, the Republican. It is thought that Ed Case and Colleen Hanabusa will split the vote, and Djou will win easily. Facts on the ground may puncture this conventional wisdom, though.

FDL Book Salon Welcomes Dr. Derek Bok, The Politics of Happiness |
| By: Sara Robinson Saturday May 22, 2010 2:00 pm |
America’s government may be the first one in the history of the world that started out with the expressly stated goal of making its citizens happy. Jefferson set out “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” in the Declaration of Independence. Madison added “to promote the general welfare” to the six purposes of government in the Constitution’s preamble. Both believed that democracy was the system most likely to deliver on the promise of helping people live happier lives.
