Just a couple weeks ago, on April 15, the Teabaggers staged rallies across the country, once again bravely standing up for individual freedom and the Constitution.

The economists who prescribed the policies of the last 30 years are abject failures who caused massive immiseration of their fellow citizens. The Obama team is trying to find bandaids. They should be looking to first principles for guidance, rather than shoring up the unfair system that damaged so many of us.

When ESPN did the empty-net story that Barack Obama planned to ban fishing, America reached a new level of ignorant media bloviating (pardon the redundancy).

There is always fascinating discussion to be had on this subject, and I thought I would throw open the floor for just that.

If we had a media that highlighted events in proportion to their importance to the nation, Carl Levin’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations would be plastered across every channel in the nation, including MTV. Yesterday, Levin’s committee hosted an incredible hearing on the credit rating agencies, the “independent” analysts who assess various types of securities. During the financial crisis, the rating agencies, who are owned and funded by the very banks who create the securities they rate, simply gave up any pretense of independent assessment, rubber-stamping toxic assets as triple-A and safe, neglecting the very real dangers for investors and creating a false sense of security.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has a new article on Huffington Post ripping the private insurance companies and again calling for her new Health Insurance Rate Authority. While I appreciate the sentiment, the Senator’s promises ring hollow to anyone that has followed the health care debate.

Duck weather here, how about there? But April showers bring May flowers – or so Mama said. Do hope they at least bring us a bouquet of Bankster hearings.
