I have always been afraid i would accidentally hurt small poodles.
When I saw a pic of Jane’s amazing brood, I wondered what I had been worried about all those years.
Germany doesn’t have a Nazi-history month.
Russia doesn’t have a Soviet-history month.
What the fuck is wrong with our slave states; have they no shame?
I lived in Northern Idaho for 4 years back in the mid 70′s.
They kind of had a the “Year the N—–’s came up for Scab Mining jobs during a strike month. The event happened back in the late 30′s? Too lazy to fact check. The Mining Company went down South and talked all these strong young black men into a better future learning to hard-rock mine in Idaho. Very grizzly local history. But every year at a certain time the bar’s were full of “old days” stories.
So, maybe there are under-the-radar anniversaries we just don’t get invited to.
g’evening, ES & Pups! What’s on my mind? Gardening fever. I was outside digging and raking until it was too dark to see. Peas & lettuce are up outside … unfrikkinbelievable in minnesnowta.
Cool newdeal. Likewise yesterday mixed soils and potted peas, beans and carrots, Chard is 18″ leaves! Sunny happy daze. Derusted, primed and painted my universal gym in the sun. Farming my rented duplex. Eyes better?
yep, but it’ll be about a month yet before i know the date of my next surgery. My right eye is healing well, slowly but surely. I can’t focus that eye right now because the lens was removed because of cataract caused by earlier surgeries. Plus the silicone oil holding the latest surgery in place is kinda hard to see through consistently. As i explained to my daughter, it’s like having my own personal lava lamp inside my eye. She winced and put her hands over her ears. My kids just don’t find the details as fascinating as i do LOL. The next surgery is routine followup, to remove the silicone oil and place an artificial lens. I can hardly wait to see 3D in real life again!
yeah, the first surgeon wasn’t as competent as he should have been. Luckily the new doc & his associates are all top-notch and were able to repair the damage done.
but it’s easy to move that to the back of my mind when i have basil sprouting! NOM. No such thang as too much basil.
I was reading some ayuravedic and yoga food suggestions for eye health as I am trying to deal with early cataract cloudiness here and there. am attracted to those foods interestingly enough, carrots, sweet potatoes, oranges, grapes, olive oil, spinach. cauliflower, fenugreek, anise, nuts, figs, dates, raisins and coriander powder.
Eye exercises and changing focus frequently.
Good morning, pups. It’s just Collins and Blow because Frank Herbert is off today. Ms. Collins, in “Let’s Just Indict the Deficit,” says prosecutors have appeal as politicians, especially in disastrous times. But what kind of leaders do they really make? Mr. Blow discusses “A Mighty Pale Tea.” He tells of going to a tea party in Texas in search of diversity and being quite underwhelmed. He called the thing “a political minstrel show,” and he’s right.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got French toast made with challah. To the basil and rosemary I’d add sage and thyme. Bake pork chops with a few fresh sage leaves underneath them and you’re in for a treat, and I don’t know if I could keep cooking without thyme… Have a great day.
Got an email this morning from a colleague from S. Africa who I was supposed to have dinner with in Manhattan on Monday. He is one of the many who is stuck in Europe, London to be specific, and so had to cancel. It must be a nightmare.

Anita Pallenberg is still alive, and bopping around the globe, doing her thing.
What a force.
Bluegrass Does Gordon. Lightfoot
Yep, always admired her, start to finish.
A remarkable woman, and she survived Keith and The Stones!!!
lol
I always liked that joke about Joan of Arc-
You know, about being alive and living medium-well in Argentina.
Their character, as fucked up as they were a good deal of their lives (for various reasons), is apparent – they survived her.

She’s right, basil and rosemary are the herbs of the gods!! *G*
Well, garlic.
