Featuring new videos from Beans & Fatback and Solander.
What’s on your mind tonight?
Hi ES CT and All
Good evening, bigbrother..)
I Don’t Want to Talk About It
Cars and ice cream. What’s on your mind ES?
Salads with fresh redbud and confederate violet blossoms.
And playing my tiny xylophone to new Cults songs…)
Beans and fatback!
Some day I am going to sneak in here on time and bag a zed.
Fresh redbud blossoms! Din’t know they were edible.
High redbud season here…. prolly last three days, kinda like the weeping cherries and bradford pears did.
Well HELLO Beans & Fatback – you had me at the B3…
SWOON! Great B3 player – who is that?
They are delicious.. taste like alfalfa sprouts with a hint of something else… sweet.
Try them while you can
Midnight pickings may be the best!
Can you believe that band is from The Netherlands?
Must be a few native born ‘Mercans in there.
Best caption of the day distilling the confeder-idocracy in Virginia …
Progress on the Treason-in-Defense of Slavery Front
How’d that damn Hammond organ get over there? They’re not so plentiful you know.
And the dude plays it ZACTLY like it needs to be played. I’m gobsmacked!
Demi needs to see this video. She’ll love it!
And smooches to all – must go night-night!
Check out the free download I linked above at comment 5 sometime.
Excellent. Road trip this weekend… I’ll gather as I go. Roadsides are covered with em.
I have half a dozen in my yard and thousands all around me. And yet I still think about planting more. Such a beautiful tree year round.. lots of character.
A little old fashioned but that’s all right
That was excellent! Thanks.
My computer isn’t working on your vids tonight, ES. Keeps needing to buffer…
Hey, ES, I’m hoping Portugal the Man might do an acoustic set for my music appreciation class at UAA when they come up to AK later in the month.
Nice clips, especially Solander.
Where are you going on the roadtrip?
Acoustic! have someone plug in with a decent mic and a flip cam.. we’ll post the utube if the audio is good.
Hi ES, love redbuds. Lavender-pink flowers and very dark bark, just beautiful.
My class is held in a 200-seat recital hall, so they’d be on a stage that is already set up for recording – both audio and video. My TA works in the hall’s control room, so if they think it’s OK, we’ll record the set.
Evening Margot… speaking of lavender, I just purchased a bunch of lavender seeds.
And the lilac and wisteria are still ahead… can’t have enough shades of lavender around the house…)
Wonderful… they need and deserve some quality recording.
I need some lavender, the old plant I had died a few years ago.
Can’t grow lilac here, but I have fond memories of it from childhood. My wisteria is finishing the spring bloom now. I love lavender too!
Fat Back and Beans. I’ll say it again. Good friends making music, food and wine and a 32 hour work week. Nice blues easy melodies preety sweet. Gonna miss my lady friend.
Hi! Long time.
Hi! Time flies D:
Let’s go for 31 and a half…)
Solander is great — just listened to “Berlin” and “Looking for Gold.”
Howdy ES :)
j.o.b. hunting! time to get back on my head :/
How are thing on the west coast?
Going to visit family… deliver belated xmas gifts. Have requests for camellias, but not finding great/inexpensive ones at the farmers mkt this year.
Don’t understand why as the camellias have been (and still are) spectacular, this year (the cold weather perhaps). Perhaps all the plants were snapped up before I started looking.
That is a really nice find as Kelly said the organ is good and the guys are down home and good natured. The kitchen is so old fashioned and the lighting is modest. We have a Danish bakery here and the guy is doing great while the rest of the businesses are down 15-20% in the local mall. Danes are smart.
wisteria is going strong here.. Love it.
OH, which was your favorite? I had so many to review this evening…. didn’t have time to give other solanders a once over.
“Berlin” – it is wonderful.
hello sunny :)
Things are really good here. I retired! The earthquake didn’t cause any damage, and the garden is planted.
Best luck on the job hunt; did you apply for a census job? My daughter got one, and it pays $16.50 per hour and .50 per mile for travel. Not bad.
You seem to be in a spot/zone about one week ahead of ES.
Good to see you! Got a project going?
and, of course, CE, ET, BB and anyone else I missed like margot :)
That sounds fun! Don’t know about the camellias. I have a few here, but mostly they burn around the edges and fall off before they really bloom. I need more shade.
Spring is here, too!
Hey hey! Congrats on the new life :)
I’m sticking with the programming jobs. That merkit still seems to be decent.
It’s the cover/resume writing that is most laborious.
I went by some friends who have had a NO WAR sign in there yard for years. He and his wife of five years have decided that the people have to change from the inside to change the world. She is a fine artist with body forms as a base for her paintings and a psycho therapist. I blew of my best friend last weekend did not tell them. Like losing my 15 year rot/shep keep on keeping on but different.
Narcissus popped onto youtube just a few hours ago.
We firedogs are on the tip i tell ya…)
I know what you mean. Trying to sell yourself is hard. You just want to grab them by the shirt and say LISTEN to what I have to offer you!
Ah, a momentary lull in studio work while I try to get myself in order. Looking forward to doing some spring landscapes from mid-april to the end of the month.
Sounds like your garden is growing well :)
Had a nice flow yoga session from a teacher in Morro bay. She glides you from one pose to the next and a lot of the students a very clever with the moves.Mello after glow.
I love YouTube!
Goodnight all you Firedogs.
or move aside and let me show ya ;)
Them’s raking words my friend…
My cousin in Denver worked 20 years as executive assistant and goes on interviews but no takers. She has never been unemployed before. She does not want more unemployment she wants to work at 55. So do the rest of the 10 million folks. I just volunteer and do something that way no pay though.
Tw3K you have my best wishes to hook up with a long term job. One of my friend is ready to start selling of thing to feed her family. This is intolerable while Wall Street turns big gains, profits and salaries and they were given taxpayer billions.
Thanks for the best wishes bb.
You have my best wishes for you and yours as well.
Yup. See what’s happening in Kyrgyzstan over utilities and discontent.
It’s excellent to see you…. hurry back, hear?
eCAHN’s book salon looks good. With the idea of “post-evolutionary” leadership. Haven’t read the book but I think the convo will be interesting.
Good night Sunny :)
I’m out as well.
Good night fabulous firedogs
The map shows this country is between Russia and China north of Afghanistan. We have the use of a military base their. is this part of controlling oil in Central Asia. What does the Oil Oligarchy have to do with this? Just wondering out loud.
Take care ES.
We have a base there to supply our troops in Afghanistan. Maybe they’re getting Americanized?
Thanks again, ES.
