Government Support for Student Loan Companies: Bailing Out Banks Instead of Helping Out Students |
| By: masaccio Thursday March 11, 2010 2:30 pm |
Why should the government support the failed business model of Sallie Mae and other student loan finance companies like Citi and JPMorgan Chase? Why isn’t that money going to help students pay for their education?
New Health Care Whip Count: 189 Yes, 202 No |
| By: David Dayen Thursday March 11, 2010 1:34 pm |
That looks like a major departure from my last whip count. That’s because there’s been a major development. House leaders have given up on trying to please Bart Stupak and will try to pass a bill without him and his bloc.
