A big issue in the Arkansas Senate primary is Blanche Lincoln’s relationship to the African-American community. She has been going around the state touting her “A” rating from the NAACP. But someone has a problem with that – the President of the Arkansas NAACP.

I can just imagine how that conversation went down…

During this portion of the reconciliation phase, Republicans can write virtually any amendment, forcing Democrats into terrible votes, without much consequence, knowing they will be defeated and providing campaign ad fodder — including amendments like “No Erectile Dysfunction Drugs To Sex Offenders.”

The President is hosting a signing ceremony for his Executive Order on abortion today; it’s quite a step away from what he said in July 2007 and even later.

Unless the GOP successfully absorbs the Teabaggers into the Borg, the virus just might kill the host.

This may be Democrats last chance to improve health care reform and try to make it even more popular before the November election. Sadly, it appears an opportunity wasted.

You’re not going to believe this, but Senate Republicans don’t like an Obama appointment and say he’s beyond the mainstream. I know, it’s crazy.

With the Senate vote-arama commencing this afternoon on the health reform fixes in the reconciliation bill, the AFL-CIO is telling Senators to vote no on any and all amendments – including the public option if it’s introduced.

“Progressives” should be honest and admit that they are clapping for a health care plan that most found to be moral anathema when the GOP proposed it in 1994, and that going forward they will settle for nothing from the Democrats.  And like it.
