On calling Obama White House spokesperson Linda Douglass ‘the Goebbels of health care:’
I probably shouldn’t have said that…. I got her confused with one of the Congressmen…. I got my wires crossed that day…. I probably shouldn’t have [gone down that road] but I did….
On his prediction that ‘Obama’s harpy wife would go Lorena Bobbit on him should he even think about shagging hookers behind the media’s back:’
I’ve learned…. I don’t have to get personal in blogging to make my point. I’ve definitely evolved over time.
On calling David Souter ‘the only goat-fucking child molester ever to serve on the Supreme Court:’
That was about the dumbest thing I’ve done…. Some good came out of it! It was the first time I realized, Howard, that what I do affects my family, too — having my three-year old heckled and booed in the front yard by a neighbor, having my wife be berated at her office… I always thought I was just a guy chatting with friends on Twitter, and I realized I’d reached a point where people listen to what I say!… It was a wake-up call to me that I had to grow up in how I write.
On asking ‘at what point do people march down to their state legislators office, take him aside and beat him to a bloody pulp:’
The point is valid, but the Left may not like it…. We’re reaching a point where reasonable people are gonna get kinda crazy with government intrusion into their lives.
‘Are you going to make your points on Red State without these kind of personal attacks?’
Yeah I think so, I’ve definitely had to grow up over time… Everyone understands you talk with friends and among friends in ways you don’t talk in public… in some ways when you talk about things in public and in private you sometimes use different languages. I’ve definitely had to grow up and realize that I am someone now on a national stage and a platform. What I say and write affects not just myself and my family but others.
So, to review:
1. Youthful indiscretions (all within the last two years)
2. People actually read my shit? Who knew?
3. Gotta save the crazy for my close peeps
4. My family and I are the victims
Listen in vain for the words ‘apologize’ or ‘regret’ or ‘sorry’ issue from Erickson’s maw. With the exception of his Goebbels comparison to Linda Douglass (if you listen carefully, you’ll hear that his real mistake was that he mistook her for another, not his Nazi analogy) none of this is regrettable. None of his targets deserve an apology. He is sorry for none of it. No mistakes made.
This is the level of violent and unapologetic discourse CNN has decided to bring into its public square and hand its million-dollar megaphone. John King’s USA is clearly not mine. Is it yours?
DumpCNN on Twitter and Facebook.

hell no teddy – i won’t watch the network that hosts him
Hey Teddy!
Teddy!
Erik Erikspoop is far too old for “youthful indiscretions” and will “grow up” about the time I am revirgined.
Good evening to Suzanne the Profanity Lady.
hi there eg
I try to keep my choices simple…I just don’t subscribe to cable.
dood i so want that tote bag!!! its forking perfect
I gave up on CNN years ago. I think it was Wolf Blitzkrieger that got to me.
It amazes me how he talks about a year ago being ‘ages’ in blog time, as if we (and Kurtz’s employer CNN) are supposed to forgive him these youthful indiscretions.
But it’s his victimhood after the awful things he said about David Souter, with the horrible things that happened to his wife and child after his free speech, that really amazed me. Yeah, dude, your family was who got hurt here.
Erickson is a punk! This is another example of the Republicans inciting the tea baggers and the far right radicals.
I am so happy to see Andy Cooper making the transition to 6o Minutes. I don’t think he’ll ever give up AC36o voluntarily, but Aaron Brown should be a lesson to him. Remember Aaron Brown, who took us all through 9/11 and then became too much of a reminder of that day for CNN to keep on?
Monica Goodling’s hubby, no?
Just more conservative cult of perpetual victimhood. Expect that when one of the Teabaggers finally goes out in a blaze of folly taking many innocents with him that they will claim that conservatives are the real victims.
Ok Eric then who really is the Goebbels of healthcare assuming that you really did make a mistake that is?
Woofie has that effect on intelligent people.
Sad, but true.
And CNN getting aboard, Liberal Media that they are.
They have been trending steadily rightward since their cheer leading for the Iraq invasion.
We all get personal sometimes with the blogging but care to bet on whether the Righty or Lefty blogs get more personal?
Nope, that’s Michael Krempasky, RedState co-founder.
Upcoming…Dick Armey takes over 360. Rubio pushes out Sanchez. Dana Bash replaced by Ann Coulter.
Makes me long for the days of Ted.
Yes consequences are never thought of until you or someone you care about gets hurt.
Its funny you never learned that as a teenager?
Watertiger excluded, I don’t know any blogger who typed similar things about Laura Bush.
Wow, now that you mention it, Dana Bash resembles Ann Coulter quite a lot.
She’s Mrs John King, you know.
Who was that long-haired brunette before Aaron Brown?
watertiger is kinda like jon stewart with a fashion eye — she picks on everyone when they deserve it
Eric your side tried this crap at the Town Hall Meetings all you did was boost our attendance at the Town Halls and then the violence and gun nuts stopped acting crazy when they saw they were outnumbered.
Also Eric where were you when Bush was spying on American phone calls?
Silly Teddy! Don’t you know that there’s absolutely nothing a right-winger can do that will get them permanently banned from public life — unless it involves espousing something non-conservatives like?
Look at Pat Buchanan. Everyone’s known he was a rabid bigot from the get-go, but that didn’t keep him from being one of CelebCorps’ favorite pundits. Only when he came out against Bush’s invading Iraq did all his old conservative buddies suddenly officially notice, in print and for the TV cameras, that he was a rabid bigot.
I really miss her Laura cameltoe commentary though.
Makes me question the environment he was raised in. Protected, Affluent, Elitist, maybe something there, maybe not.
I guess I thought that the SCLM might not be able to ditch their current rabid rightwingers for racism and violence (e.g., Buchanan) but that they might not take up with other new ones.
Although Uncle Pat doesn’t appear on Rachel’s show anymore, so those emails must have had some effect….
*sigh* me too.. this helps
Cowering under his desk, chanting “If you’re not a terrorist you don’t have to worry.”
Given that Condi called Bush her husband I think we had more cause to say that than Eric did the Obama’s marriage has never been in doubt.
Michelle a harpy why she has toned arms? Just how much does Eric fear strong women with opinions who don’t agree with him.
Eric’s attack is mean emotional and driven by fear and rage just below full Panic mode.
WaterTiger at least is funny Conservative humor seems to need to put others down, exclude them from the ingroup etc.
Our humor seems to be more about pointing out when people are wrong.
LOL!
I was thinking a plastic bubble myself. Just how can a man grow up without learning regret and consequences as a teenager?
You are right Teddy P. The main street media is continually repeating the right wing mantra.
The word “sociopath” leaps to mind.
Nice one:) Notice Eric complains about the government taking over but never mentions how the government lied us into war by controlling the media.
Notice he does not say a word about the Media lying and spreading hate encouraging attacks.
Its only ok when his side controls the government and the media I guess.
Although with the way Obama acts why is Eric angry? Obama governs like Bush won a third term.
Yep.
He grew up in Dubai and Louisiana, if that helps.
Agreed! That was in hindsight totally obvious:)
I found it intriguing that Howard Kurtz was used by CNN to ‘vet’ Erick’s responses today; he’s a media critic for the WaPo, of course, and vastly conflicted by having a CNN program as well (Reliable Sources). Is this supposed to stop the complaints about Erick, do you think?
I don’t expect it to.
Dubai a Muslim country where women are separate from society and he probably went to a special American only school with few fellow students to interact with.
Louisiana hmmm? Eric is a Louisiana GOPer I wonder if him and Senator Vitter ever split a box of diapers?
it might have helped had son of erick given honest answers instead of excuses
Personally, I intend to complain about both Erickson and Kurtz. Loudly and often.
I think it’s to help LAUNCH Erick, not really to assuage complaints.
CNN not tonedeaf? Let’s reconsider that Teddy!
Yep. Probably figure that if they are getting complaints from the left that they are doing something right.
Yes and Yes but damage control on the new guy already when as far as I know he hasn’t done anything bad on CNN yet?
That suggests someone at CNN is worried about what we might dig up on Eric.
Lou Dobbs cost CNN Hispanic viewers given what Eric said about Michelle maybe CNN wants to lose African American viewers?
‘sposed to, but it won’t. When one of your own panelists says, c’mon Howie, you know the hypocrisy level is pigstink nose deep even for the jaded journos.
CNN is also the network that legitimized Beck. Up next ERICK!
Yeah, you are right.
Howie’s faux-pissiness at Erick gives CNN plausible deniability too.
Eric in the Real World Reasonable People and Lefties hear that someone calls them a GoatFucker well word gets around and if you were a normal person not a Righty Blog hack your ass would be kicked.
Why because Reasonable People and Lefties don’t say things like that without expecting consequences.
Bush as I recall when he spread that rumor about McCain having an African American bastard acted the same way.
I think your both sociopaths who have been protected from life.
Good Sunday Evening, Teddy and All.
Are you guys having fun yet?
This is another creepy guy. Who would give Miss Linda a hard time? Come on. Who did he mix her up with? Knucklehead.
The more famous Eric gets the more people not just GOPers will check out Eric’s blog. It won’t just be us checking Eric’s blog CNN should start to lose Reasonable Viewers then.
All the Righties are watching Fox why watch CNN for Eric when you have several hours of Righty shows all on one channel?
If you risk the Reasonable Viewer and have no shot of getting the Fox Viewer then just what is CNN really getting?
Well, I didn’t mean to break this thing. Sorry.
Nice to see you Demi:)
nothing broken that i can see
Hi Things.
You didn’t break it. Happy Sunday to you. Think it is time for me to toddle off, however. Take care all.
If we have any Eric blog readers on the thread maybe a rundown on who he is and what his stand on the issues are could help? I don’t know his record.
Oh goody. How ya doing tonight? Is it raining up there? Gosh, it got hot here today.
Nite DrDick
You really don’t want to. Batshit insane and dumb as a box of rocks pretty much covers it.
Sweet dreams, Dick. Getting ready for Monday morning, eh?
g’nite dr dick
Nah. It is spring break, so I do not have to do any serious thinking for a whole week. I am moving this week and spent the day packing, so I am bushed.
tis a dark stormy night
Moving? Got yerself a new pad? Congratulations. Sorry you’re bushed, though. You’ll sleep well tonight, at any rate.
both sociopaths…I think you’re right.
hey there demi.
having a good evening?
Good night Doc
I bet you’re stayin’ cozy and warm with a fire, though.
You really need to know any more than the excerpts from Howie Kurtz’s show above? That’s certainly enough for me to make up my mind. I’m quite sure that’s probably not even the worst of his oeuvre.
Yep. Pretty nice and quiet. Just taking a break from reading. I been a reading fool this whole weekend.
True but if he’s on CNN maybe I should brush up on him to better take him down. Still he doesn’t seem like an accomplished speaker, a great thinker etc I think all he has going for him are emotional angry words and shock value.
In other words the next Glen Beck.
There’s a reason CNN is dropping in the ratings–if I wanted to watch this sort of crap, I’d switch to Fox News, which at least doesn’t try to pass itself off anything else but a frothing mouthed pile of fools
Its enough to make up my mind yes:) Still to really lay on the snark it helps to have their entire record to work with. Eric might be worth the attention now that he’s on CNN.
Evening all! I was just checking the Arizona Republic site and see that the Teabaggers Express was in Phoenix today, the home of Goldwater and JD Hayworth and they attracted a whole 1,300-1,500 people, a day after The Showdown in Searchlight. A Fail.
Agreed how come nobody is reporting the views of the End the war now fix the economy we want jobs and our homes majority?
It’s not in their best interests?
I see we’ll be down for maintenance for a bit pretty soon.
Mad Sunday Night Love to all.
Where was the event held Matt?
as you can see by the banner up top:
we are gonna have a short down period.
the tech crew has assured me this will be a brief outage
Thats all
http://socialistworker.org/2010/03/25/renewed-fight-for-our-rights
My bold the Tea Baggers got to get more people at their rallies if Immigration does becomes an issue this election then the Media won’t be able to ignore the size of the turnout at our rallies vs theirs.
That is a massive fail. Thanks for the update!
Sending white light to the techies and back stagers.
Well their advertisers best interests yes. I’m sure the banks will pull all their commercials if the media started reporting on all the people loosing their homes.
MSNBC?
And @85, the spokesperson for Freedom Works was on Fox Thursday and said racism and violence were contrary to their views…
and we are back up
And we’re back! How prompt! Love that.
how’s denver tonight dood?
Utah Crazy
The Governor has signed a bill to use eminent domain to seize Federal lands.
Utah governor signs bills to seize federal land
Warm and clear. You should see the moon tonight. OUTSTANDING!
(( tech crew ))
Bad link Matt!
oh geez
The Utah governor wants part of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument to mine coal.
i fixed the link
Yep – that works.
Holy Cow…
You did! Thanks!
Is that the ‘federal land grab’ Orrin Hatch has been Facebooking about lately? What a cranky old man he is.
Congrats on the century, Kelly
extra http slash slash… it comes preloaded in the embed link button and ya have to remove it if ya are cut and pasting the url
Weee!
i bet it is teddy — he’s slimy enough that he would be bragging ahead of time
Here is more from a March 3rd LA Times article
congrats kelly
Ha, you. How is my newest “friend” tonight?
The moon looks special from here too.
There’s going to be more of that cooking out west. The Feds do own most of AZ, UT, because of parks and Reservations.
Up next – Water Wars. Just watch.
yup. difi is the california enabler for corporations grabbing public water for private resale
I blame Ted.
The right-wingers play that game all the time. They get called out from someone on what they are and do but they act so shocked & victimized. Like that twerp Eric Cantor trying to blame Dems for threats of violence. Just watch him try to hide his blood stained hands if some teabagging nutcase goes off the deep end.
It’s called ‘mirroring’ or ‘evil Spock:” acting victimized by something you’ve done to your adversary. It’s Karl Rove’s specialty, and there are a whole lot of ‘wingers who’ve learned it at his knee. Or some other body part of his.
Glad to see CNN has become THE rehab destination for recovering right-wing reactionaries. Sure it’s only been a year since Erick Erickson has poisoned the discourse with vulgar references about the first lady and a retiring Supreme Court justice, but Erick now recognizes what he writes really has an effect on others.
True, he’s only worried about the effect on him and his family, and he now realizes he can’t speak in public like he speaks with his friends, but at least he’s learned to hide his true feelings when he goes public. That’s progress. CNN Rehab has had an effect.
Sure there will be relapses. That’s to be expected. I follow his Redstate-Conservative News website daily and see that at least Erick, among his stable of writers, has toned down his inflammatory rants a bit. Yes, Erick still sees conspiracies and disputes events witnessed by CNN producers, but there has been progress.
Redstate still bans commenters who lean the least bit center. But this will probably be covered in the later rehab stages.
Keep it up CNN. You got Erick to admit he has a problem. At least when he speaks publicly. Rehab is a long process. You are providing a great service.
