ES!!!
Damn, I am glad the health care vote stuff is done for today! That was tiring.
Ah, music…
Aloha, ES…!
Good Music!
Help I got lost in our own blog.
Hi all…)
Easy to do these days, eh…? ;-)
Hello, Friend!
Solidarity!
I’ll say…) We got our foot of snow!
Solidarity indeed, amigo.
We start on that new playbook…. very soon.
Hello ES, Nahant, CT, AZ, Kelly and Newt as well as those to follow.
Hey bigbrother.
You reminded me of a runner carrying an olympic torch today. Those surfer girls must have inspired you this weekend…)
nahant, you’ve been a stranger of late…! How goes everything with ya…? *g*
OH my, he really has… so much so I didn’t see him nab the zed.
They were in and out of 55 degree water for 6 hours, pretty tough. I am on weights in the Abend. Chores and errand in the day. We have to stay strong to be effective. We have to be clear to understand the best pathway. Listen to the voice from withing and the late night videos. G)
Green Party is grinning tonight as the door has opened for them like never before it seems.
In AR I can’t imagine voting for any other this year.
rascality “getting harder & harder 2 distinguish 2day’s GOP & tea party types from the gd folks of Rock Ridge in the movie Blazing Saddles” #hcr RT
I’ll take Nader as an Independent, again…! Right, ES…? ;-)
He was awesome again in D.C…!
LOL
Not only is tomorrow another day, but a big one at work for me. I’m out.
Keep up the resistance!
Aloha, Kelly…!
I don’t know yet, CT. 2012 is a long way off. I may go Socialist.
I can’t find a place far left enough on the map these days..)
Night Kelly. Stay loud.
Hello.
A foot of snow for realzies?
*heh* I’m as far left as ya can go and still be in a State…! *g*
Figuratively and Literally…! ;-)
Yes indeed, snowfall on forsythia. Some folks got 15″ or more. But it’s warming up tonight… will be all gone tomorrow.
You will make a tourist out of me in no time with talk like that…)
Point me towards wikikifi beach.
I have to say the layed back entertainment suits me fine. The girls in harmony are very nice for a replay. And the in the living room group of friends is a special treat. Very nice ES muchias Gracias.
(Now I know no health care for me as I am speaking spanish oh well I natural meds and curanderos)
Glad you liked them as much as I did, bb. Now I am going to have to go downstairs and tell Larue he’s missing out.
Heh. I knew about blackberry winter. Mebbe there’s a forsythia winter too :-)
Certainly no snow any where in the Isles, Bro…! Not even up amongst the clouds, where I’ll be for much of the next 2 weeks, almost every other nite…! ;-)
*heh* Larue is too busy answering each and every comment downstairs, bro…! ;-)
Oh good, stop by with live links. I love that…. told several of my friends about it.
He’s a thread straggler.
Now that would be a very late cold snap.
hello all you luvlies. i’m just a drive-by. sarah jarosz is great. she’s been playing ’round here for a few years now. she’s sooo strong.
i am officially bummed about the travesty of an abortion they passed tonight.
my good news is that the pakistani viruoso we’ve been helping with getting settled in the u.s. has gotten word that his wife and 8 children have also received asylum. and we’ve collected about $3700 of the $15,000 to $18,000 we’re going to need to get their visas and plane tix and getting them settled in a house.
*heh* True…! I’m disappointed newt didn’t give me a fist bump…! 8-(
Strangler?
Sweet music. Thanks ES, hi everyone.
Hey, I’m over here!
*leans in from that ruckus at the Action thread*
Hi gw. Had no idea you were up to so much good.
Please keep us posted with that story.
So nice to see you stranger.
Straggler.
May may be a southern expression… means running behind in my book.
Evening Margot…)
Hi, Pups.
Drive by on my way to bed, just to say hello.
Anybody else already tired of the “Little Cock-a-doodles of Victory” piling up in the ol’ inbox? My goodness. And I’ve been trying to pay as little attention as poss…for the sake of my mental health!
XXOO
FunnyDiva
*ooh* I’ve been seriously missing out, I never saw that thread…! ;-)
excellent!
Hi Funny D, I unsubscribed from so many this week… I was spared the onslaught this evening.
that’s awesome! wow! ya done good greenwarrior.
Got to read the post for sure.
Evening dosido.
nice to be here on your thread.
i’m the one the checks get sent to and keep the accounting for what’s coming in. it’s so cool. we’ve only been fundraising a couple of weeks. i’ve got a big place so i also hosted a house concert here too a while back. but most of the money he’s getting from making music he sends to his wife. we’ll all rest easier once she and the children are safely here. he was teaching last year on a fulbright scholarship at the univ of texas.
Hello pups. I’m so happy about the vote!
YaY Green Warrior!
Neat neat neat!
Hi LooHoo. I knew you would be. If you were here i would pour you some sparkling cider,
Hey, gw, what sort of virtuoso? Violin? Piano? Etc? Congrats, btw, on your good work.
OH, ES, ’tis truly historic. I know that there are problems with the bill…hell I’m a woman!…but I think it can all be corrected. If the Stupak block is in line, we can get a public option.
Hi ES. I told the stragglin’ thread strangler you were looking for him.
hey, Loo Hoo – I see you haven’t been beaten down by the negative.
At this point, I’m almost agnostic. I’ve gone back and forth – I hate the mandate, know that I and many others can’t afford it, and it’s going to be a terrible cudgel to use against Dems, and I just don’t understand why. I’m bitter about many things about the bill and the way the liberals” caved on everything, but had just about concluded that not passing would be worse in many, many ways.
I’m just exhausted. Waiting to see what happens next, I guess.
good for you.
i will attempt to some vicarious enjoyment re your happiness.
Hee hee.
There she is. Missss insomnia.
Can’t wait till we are both wide awake and discuss where we go from here.
Yeah, healthcare reform makes my head hurt.
C&L had a nice list of what’s good about the bill, but GOP will run with the bad.
Just a spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down!
Aloha, M’dear…! I’ve not crossed threads with ya like forever…! ;-)
well, party on doggies! I’m off to bed.
Night dosido
Been unsubscribing like gangbusters all week. The strategy is to use a different name on each email in an attempt to circumvent so I go directly to the site to unsubscribe.
We’re all exhausted. If you can’t afford the mandated tax vs. premium, scream it out loud. I think that’s the effort the dems have worked on. Everyone should qualify for insurance one way or another. If there’s a group of folks not getting the goods, we need to scream it out loud…all of us together.
selise, you are my mentor and I respect you to the max. What do you think we should do?
Night dosido.
Me too. It’s nice to have the clarity. .. despite what it took to get it.
here’s my first suggestion today (social movement politics). but what the heck do i know? and besides it takes all kinds. i’m glad there are different people with different tactics but similar goals. makes for a diverse ecosystem of activism.
howdy CT!
my insomnia was getting better and i was actually sleeping! not so good tonight though :(
although i love the excuse to “see” you all.
evening, firegods
How are you feeling… did you hurt your arm or something recently?
Evening PPDCUS..)
hiya ES
you are way too nice to me, but can i just say that your encouragement makes my day?
i have no idea what we should do in the immediate time frame. i think there’s going to be a lot of differing views about the bill today (probably, at least in part, based on what state we live in and what our life experiences have been). harder for me to by psych’ed about the bill today when i thought both the house and senate were worse than romneycare — but that doesn’t mean i don’t get that others will not see it as i do. so cheers to you and a toast with some of that e-sparkling cider ES was talking about.
Like ya need an excuse, Ma Cheri…! ;-)
i’m a stupid clutz. nothing serious — and certainly nothing like what happened to you. just pulled something the wrong way and then tried to type too much and my hand froze up on me. have had to take it a bit easy with the typing. in fact should probably give it a rest now.
nite all and hugs to all the pups….
luv ya, but i really need the sleep…… :)
Night selise
sitar, tablas (drums) and his absolutely amazing singing voice.
from your link:
I actually think the dems are doing this. Too slowly to be sure, but I think I’m seeing a breath of strength.
howdy ES & Pups!
Just got home from working overtime a bit ago … was nice to be working and having an excuse to ignore all the hoopla going on.
LooHoo, i’m with you. I think it could have been a LOT better, but it is a start.
greenwarrior, how wonderful and amazing! I hope the fundraising goes swiftly. If i was in your neck of the woods, i’d definitely show up for a house concert.
Aloha, M’dear…!
my sleep monitor is dragging me off to bed. “see” y’all another day.
*heh* I’ll reiterate… Aloha, M’dear…! *g*
Aloha, gw…!
aloha, CT!
Hi ndfg..)
Was good to read along here, but i could not listen to cspan.
Hi Selise, Loo Hoo, PPDCUS, Sunny and everyone.
Selise, I thought of you the other day when I read that someone had a very severe allergy to chamomile tea, had to go to the ER. I’ll just stick with the warm milk!
Listening to CSAN was easier than reading along here, ES.
Who shouted at Stupak? Everyone’s saying someone called him a baby killer?
You made me laugh just as i was taking a drink of milk…)
Paul Begala:
Yea for Nancy!
Don’t choke!
Well, sadly, when ndfg gets home on Sunday I know it’s time for me to turn in.
Good night fighting firedogs.
Oh, dear – we’re reduced to looking to Begala for inspiration now?
As for Nancy vs. her predecessors, it’s worth noting that they were actually attempting to pass health-care reform.
evening, Margot
Night, ES.
night, ES
100!
As is Nancy. The swamp has become much more polluted.
Damn, ES, I missed ya, truly love that Sarah Jarosz pickin parlor clip . . . melts my heart!
Sorry I wuz late to the pick . . . . that was truly remounful of some parlor’s I’ve been in.
So sweeeeettttt!
Thanks for branging that . . .
Ya KNOW that WorldWideBluegrass.com is playin some of Sarah’s stuff, and they are ALWAYS lookin for home DJ volunteers . . . if you have the computer and bandwidth, I’d be phreaking delighted to hear ya on the intertoobz!!!
*G*
What a FINE pick ya brang on that one!! *G*
I have an idea, LH.
From tonight on, every lucky basterd that hits an even 100, 200, 300, etc. on every FDL thread is exempt from the new Big Insurance/Pharma/Wall Street sellout for mandatory insurance under threat of criminal & civil penalty.
The Wapoo reported…
Yeah, she managed to sell out the first time ever in our constitution the mandating of we the people to have to pay to a private company or else suffer the pain of governmental retribution.
I sure hope you understand what that means, Loo, as you dance on the ‘sposed glory of healthcare you will never get, afford, but will be billed for and charged for.
*G*
Now, we wait to see how it all comes out, and how you and yours fare, don’t we, as you PAY mandates, and wait for coverage, and care that might NEVER come to you and yours.
Because you won’t be able to afford the premiums, the co/pay’s, or the deductibles or the lifetime caps that lawyers will get around.
I wish you and yours well, but we the people? Today, we got fucked.
Hard, no vaseline.
And get ready for women’s rights to get FURTHER sold out, as SS and Medicare and all government run programs for you benefit, for your family’s benefits, bet run asounder.
Bless yer heart, LooHoo, and Selise.
Bless yer hearts.
*G*
So you’d rather I stop commenting here?
Yesssss?!?!??
And that’s a bother to YOU somehow???
Don’t get me started hoss!!!!
*G*
They got questions, I got answers.
YOU got any questions I can help ya with, huh????????
:P
Cuz I’m ALWAYS willin to oblige to the nobless ablige . . . ;-)
Don’t you dare!
Guess he forgot to man up, just like the other brave republicans!
Not at all. I’m just saying that there could be a “prize” for lucky firegods.
Still here, Margot?
*heh* Need I say another word, Larue…? I’ll see ya in another 100+ comments…! 8-P
Heh, now ya made me laff, and yer gone.
So true that tag . . . *G*
“Thread Straggler”
Might have to change my handle.
Nite all, best of HEALTH and not COVERAGE, to all, because that’s what’s comin yer way. I wish it weren’t so.
Cus Ms. Hamsher’s Fact Sheet suggests that coverage DON’T equivacate to care, and anyone that bets on the difference, I got bridges and swamps in Texas to sell to ya.
*G*
How in the world would you presume to know what I can afford and what I believe is best for Americans? Get off it, Larue. Get back to reality.
It would take a State’s AG to bring that one, but I like yer thought, despite the numbers are fucked.
As we all are . . . *G*
Thanks.
I’m afraid that my intent was to contrast Nancy with those who had actively attempted to pass health-care reform, not to group her with them. The current bill simply does not qualify as any kind of reform without some significant check on private insurers (the most ballyhooed being a strong public option available to all to compete with their offerings, the most effective being a single-payer solution).
If Nancy had actually wanted reform she would not have squashed the public option during reconciliation with the pathetic excuse that she did not believe the Senate would pass it (despite having over 50 Senators on public record as being willing to IF she sent it to them). After all, even if the Senate DID reject it the House would still have had the opportunity to pass the result without it: since most of the bill won’t have much effect for almost 4 years, there was no real pressure to move so quickly (save the artificial pressure generated by Obama).
or maybe call us Lurking Centurionistas
Saya nora, dude, keep yer wax soft and your feet hard on the board!!!
*G*
Ok, lemme edit here, and suggest you won’t get what you are wishing for.
And only time will tell, but if you ARE part of this legislation, then you will pay premiums before you get coverage. And that, is etched in stone, if I don’t presume to know your personal sitch.
You don’t know how this will impact you, do you.
And yet, you place great import on it being a benefit to you.
Bless ya, for your faith.
I’m not hard wired like that . . . that you are, is not something I guess I should be asking about.
Good luck. *G*
Goodness gracious…! What a pleasant surprise…! Aloha even…! *g*
I’m thinking (hoping!) that once this bill passes the senate and is signed, there will be other measures to dilute what the insurance companies can do to destroy Americans. Maybe a public option, maybe no more monopolies. I think once this ball gets rolling, it could even lead to medicare for all.
Dude, you really did jump her shit here.
I was one of Santa Cruz’s best age 10 body surfers at Castle Beach for two summers running dude!!!
Before they put in the Yacht Harbor and the jetty that kills the surf for miles in both directions.
*G*
As to the politics, I’m outta here and will let the end game play out, I think I’ve made my points, and we’ll see how it all ends up. At one point, soon, we will ALL be on the same side, with NO doubts about any of it.
Till then, some continue to ignore the legislation, the language, the reality of what’s being done to them.
I can’t save them, they can’t change me . . . *G*
At some point, we will likely meet again as things get worse for us all.
I’ll harbor only fond thoughts for unity.
I’m hardwired that way.
*G*
Nite Pups.
Yeah, and so it goes . . . I try to retract when I can, but the reality is pretty etched in stone.
I guess, NO engagement, is better than any, as I always end up being the bad guy, despite the reality of the facts.
The facts.
I’m not hardwired for being caring when the reality sez different.
And now, to the snooze . . .
night all – be well
nite larue
nite loo hoo
nite you guys
Dood, I agree with ya most of the time, but, I also disagree with your delivery a lot of the time…! Verbosity you do not lack in, tact you do…! Aloha, Sleep tight…! ;-)
Well, I think the reality is that people who get their insurance through their employers (as I did through last June) have no idea what they’re paying for health benefits. I had no idea that it would cost me almost $1000. per month to cover my two healthy daughters. Hell, I pay $500 per YEAR for auto insurance.
Quite a shock.
Nite, newt.
Hey, CTuttle!
No, but the dancing while many of us are in mourning is a little grating.
Larue, which diary was this?
Dancing? Say what?
Sheesh…missed ya hello CT! Have had company all week… he left Sunday … kept me busy as hell between rebuilding a couple of computers and working in the yard and gardening, course there might have been a beer or two consumed…
