Last week there was a pro-health care rally in Washington, D.C. that had a rather large attendance. Not that you heard much about it from the media. On FoxNews they briefly proclaimed the peaceful protests as a mob, ready to storm the gates of the Ritz Carlton to get their point across. But as shown here, this group included a women in a wheelchair, never a great accessory for storming.
Meanwhile, there was another round of teabagging yesterday and it had the usual assortment of grammarians and amateur literacy buffs — oh, and some nice irrational threats like accusing Pelosi of treason.
But with Michelle Bachman physically in attendance (if not mentally), Iowa Congressman Steve King knew he had to up the crazy to “11″ (ah, who am I kidding it’s always at 11 for that guy) in order to impress George Will. And what did this sworn upholder of the Constitution preach?
Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) urged a smaller-than-expected crowd of Tea Party protesters on Tuesday to launch a Velvet Revolution-style uprising against the federal government, saying the parallels are striking between America’s current government and Eastern European communist rule.
Yes, the striking parallels…which explains all those tanks and soldiers the Obama Administration has rolling in the streets.
Oh, and who can forget Joe Biden claiming Dick Cheney’s fall from the top floor of the Executive Office Building being an unfortunate suicide?
Or the millions of American’s sneaking into the Canada to get a taste of freedom…from health insurance?
Although if a Velvet Revolution gets Slovakia the South to leave… (I kid).

americans are too pacified, we’ve already been taken over without force
Ratcheting up the crazy meter to out do Ms. Bachman is a tall order.
Since these people have excellent health insurance, shouldn’t they be on medication.
The Tea Partiers believe that America will be a safe, harmonious country only when we have all joined together in mutual hatred of government.
No way to split up and keep their hands off the nukes. So we’re stuck with each other.
Believe the Congressman is getting wistful about the days of the Evil Empire. Course the Soviets fell after Afghanistan…but I kid.
Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
or was it 300 Spartans?

The Census is coming out isn’t Michelle suppose to be freaking out at 11 tabs of LSD levels?
That refers to the number of idiots that showed up for their party.
No link? What was the crowds numbers vs what was expected to show up?
Was the weather bad? Its one measure of voter intensity if you base is willing to go and turnout in a snow storm.
I assume they estimated numbers from Net and Phone tree responses I assume they rented a few buses organized a few car pools.
Could this be the start of a trend?
Would the spawn of Michelle Bachmann and Steve King be like Damien from the Omen?
Watch this Tea Partay vid
Only 600 I think I’ve seen highschool football games get bigger crowds.
I never realized that Steve King was from NW Iowa… maybe he was oxygen deprived from a waterskiing accident on Okoboji or something. Or maybe he just never got laid at the Club Mocambo.
Valdosta has that many security people.
Some of the best humor is scary close to the truth.
Michelle Bachman = Tea Bag
Foggy memories to be sure but I think I got laid out of the Mocambo. Once, maybe twice?
A town has private security not just some night watchman ex Cop with a car and flash light?
“He attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville from 1967-1970″
No military service, what a shock!
Valdosta GA has exploded, lot’s of retiree’s Valdosta State has turned into large University and the weather is good if you like hot!
The George Will link showed George and a very small, very white crowd I though Clarence Thomas’s wife was a Bagger?
Was Tom afraid to go the the Rally? Afraid some skinheads would show?
He’s my older brothers age and guys like him didn’t even go to the Roof Garden and drink cokes in the middle to late sixties!
Hot, Sunny and need a place to swim.
Apalachicola!
Does he know the Left is calling Obama’s Presidency Bush’s Third Term?
A bagger she is but she is white as is Clarence, isn’t he? /s
Tourist Pricey or small town?
Well Clarence did pull himself up by his bootstraps same as Darth did and Bush. Clarence got a government job and since the GOP needed a few Dark faces he got promoted which is funny because Clarence hates affirmative action.
Darth got elected CEO of Hal on a fishing trip while he slept. My guess is he got his friends defense contracts and that was his reward.
Bush failed at ever business he and the Bin Ladin family set him up in until his Dad gave him a baseball team.
Heck Clarence acts just like a Fake Self Made White Guy Republican.
They are. Imagine if they weren’t.
That damn liberal media again.
I talked with the offices of my rep and my one Senator that is at least human (Gregg is the other and he lives under a rock) yesterday and both were evasive at best on their intent to vote on anything related to health care. My rep has, every now and again, said that she would not vote for a bill that did not contain a “public option”. I have not been able to extract from her the “robust public option” i.e. with a mandate so I have said that I will only support her if she votes against the bill in it’s present form and would support any opposition to her if she votes for the POS. My Senator’s office has been equally evasive.
I do get the impression that both offices are fed the fuck up with all the calls and emails so maybe the message is getting through to these people. On the other hand wishful thinking has not worked out so well in the past .
Rush, you naughty boy: $75 Million in Pills Stolen in Connecticut
Not to excuse going back on previous commitments, but I can imagine
the incredible pressure she’s under from the
union thugsparty apparatus. The DCCC: so corrupt, and yet so incompetent.
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2010/03/16/us/AP-US-Prescription-Drugs-Heist.html?_r=2&hp
What thief would fence pills in an other country when America has the highest drug prices in the world? Does the New York Times not get it thieving is a for profit enterprise?
$75 million in pills stolen apparently some Americans think healthcare costs are to high. Apparently the Times does not want to give people ideas.
I expect copy cat crimes.
These crooks if they sell the pills at half off would be Modern Day Robin Hoods. From a PR standpoint the Drug Companies must be worried they have crossed into folk villain territory.
Good morning, pups. It’s Dowd and Friedman today. In “Bibi’s Tense Time Out” MoDo says that President Obama should not settle on the settlements — and more — when it comes to Israel. She manages to be a catty bitch right out of the gate, in the first sentence. The Moustache of Wisdom also turns his gaze to the Mideast. In “Let’s Fight Over a Big Plan” he says Israel, America and the moderate Arabs need their own strategy in order for a Palestinian plan for a two-state solution to work.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got corned beef hash with poached eggs this morning. It’s cloudy for the St. Patrick’s day madness in Savannah, but the rain should hold off until after the parade. As for me, I’ll be out looking for plants. Have a great day.
Grrrrrrr. If Israel were to live up to the 14+ UN findings and live up to previous agreements as the Palestinians have, in the main, done there could be meaningful and immediate talks on the
genocideapartheidhuman rightsterritorial problems.Doesn’t she though. And WTF is she doing invoking St Patrick’s day? She is a beltway bitch from the get go….an American beltway bitch at that. She is not Irish.
It’s great, the Forgotten Coast of Florida. Not a Wal Mart or any of that yet. St George Island is wonderful and you can still take your dogs there.
She can make bitchy boring her smiles are getting tired. Still she is better than Friedman I still can’t believe his wife hasn’t divorced him Mr Globalization sank her Family’s company as much as Greenspan and Bush did.
not holding my breath waiting on Israel
That does sound very good I’ve been meaning to visit a warm ocean.
It’s the Gulf of Mexico and the bay. It’s the oyster capital of the world! The Last Great Bay.
This could be lots of fun.
Just a day or so ago the American puppet was saying how clean the elections were, of course that was when he was leading.
I love oysters with horse radish
Top of the Morning to you all. I had FoxNews on last night and while Hannity was talking to his guests they were showing in the corner the photos of all the dems who haven’t decided how to vote on healthcare. Can’t deny they’re savvy. Rachael should do the same thing.
Had our first gulf oysters a few years ago and they were very enjoyable. We, my spouse and I, have had oysters from up and down the east coast and from Galway (Galway oyster fest) but find the gulf oysters to be very sweet and delicious.
This could be Civil War. This could give our generals an excuse to stay in Iraq.
Do the east coast oysters have to be eaten in the R months?
The sand castle and cliffs reminds of Lawrence of Arabia.
3 ft high!
Very nice illusion
Not eaten during ‘R’ months is the general rule but it really depends on the temperature of the waters. If the gulf stream comes in too close nasty things happen like the dreaded ‘Red Tide’. Otherwise eat to your hearts content.
excuses, we don’t need no stinkin’ excuses.
Thats what worries me.
We still want all of that oil and we need Maliki to make that work.
I live in a district nearby to Steve King’s district and we have one of the most liberal members of Congress. People I’ve met from King’s district don’t seem on the average to be any more or less whacked than the people in our district.
So what is it about this person who allows him to be elected? Iowans don’t like this kind of antics; I’m not a native but I’ve been here for 15 years and even the reddest of the red here don’t like the kind of attention that his BS brings on the state.
If there’s any consolation, I believe that both Grassley and King will be thrown out on their ears this year. There are a couple of good Dem candidates (kind of an oxymoron, but nonetheless they seem ‘electable’) to face Grassley. I don’t know who’s running against King but it seems that anyone who can put together a cogent 15 minute speech about policy issues ought to be able to beat him.
Steve King is proof that abortion needs to stay legal.
-Wexler
PS If you want to help us rid ourselves of Grassley, please visit http://www.krauseforiowa.com and check out Bob Krause. He looks like he could get it done. We need shoe leather and cubic dollars.
Dude, you gotta quit telling people!
No that’s mutual hatred of what they consider LIBERAL / Socialist Gov’t. When the Gopers return to power then of course it will be all about how they love Gov’t and we should all do what their Gov’t wants.
The next time the South wants to secede, we should let them. We should encourage them. I wonder how they’ll do without agriculture subsidies, military bases and contractors, SS payments, and medicare.
They’ll reinstitute slavery.
looks like we’re going to do a repeat
If you would like to join neighbors in the next district rid themselves (and thereby rid yourselves) of Steve King, please visit the following website of Mike Denklau and consider donating a few $$.

How much would it be worth to you to NEVER see Steve King on national TV again?
I’m 55… I WANT MEDICARE!
