Keb’ Mo’ — Dirty Lowdown and Bad.
What’s on your mind?
aloha ct — how’s paradise tonight?
EXCELLENT choice, Suz. I sang this song right after my second marriage broke up and yes, I sang it with a vengeance.
It started off mighty soggy this morn but did blossom into a gorgeously blue day by sunset…! The better half even asked early if the ’40′ days was over yet…! ;-)
hey that guy — thanks. how’s the sfbay area tonight?
cool and kinda lonely. As you know, all of a sudden I’m waay out on a limb.
Excellent song, for sure!
do ya still need more rain?
sometimes a door can not open until the currently open one shuts dood. i’m gonna stay positive that it works out dood
hey loohoo — thanks. how’s socal tonight?

Evening from the Sunshine State, Suzanne!
Well, you know me, Mr. half-empty.
hey newton — how ya been?
hey rond – how is the sunshine state tonight?
good suz. you freezing up there?
that piece is part of the collaged one now!
Joellen has always scared me a wee bit.
Tried to by her a drink a couple years ago at the Fillmore when Keb was playing there. “NO!” was her answer and that mullet was righteous – couldn’t argue!
if ya want, i could nag ya about that (laughing)
seriously, i’m not getting a bad vibe off this like i have done with other stuff — i really hope that all your worry is for nothiing dood
I’m sure we do need more rain, but, the grass is green and our tempers are short on the gray stuff…! ;-)
warm rainstorm today — highs in the 40′s…. lows in the 40′s…
HA Look at Meg Whitman’s fake town hall.
hey kelly — how’s denver tonight?
Haven’t seen you for a long time. How’s tricks?!
Thanks Suze. I am medicated, so at least I’ll sleep.
Me, hopefully, half-full! Did my book talk yesterday, Emile Zola’s LOoeuvre” – two hours!
hey ce — how’s ohio tonight?
a good thing indeed dood.
Now that it’s quit raining for a little while, it’s a good night for one of these. How’s Oregon this evening?
Prolly 55 tomorrow! Crazy. March should be our second snowiest month. Still time for that though.
how did the book talk go ce?
good, just been art’n around.
howz things with you loo hoo?
grey and wet but supposed to be sunny this weekend
Very nice link!
Reason number 23,675 to be wary of Meg Whitman.
It was 69 degrees today at 1:00 (we lunched outdoors at a picnic table)!
Being properly medicated is always a good thing, ya know…! ;-)
Admirable. Did it go well?
Really well. I retired and life is grand!
Better Living Through Chemistry, I’ve heard it called.
you out on the porch again dood?
It was wonderful. We had ten participants, including staff from the Education Division. I had a great map from 1900 of Paris, and talked liked a fool. I have walked Paris for thirty years, and still love to do so.
You did! Yet it seems you are busier than ever!
If she wants to throw her money away…at least she’s employing people.
Love Keb’ Mo’, thanks Suz.
tw3k, like your paintings.
oh ce — i bet those listening to you left with a desire to walk those same streets.
Yup. I got out so that you could get in!
hey margot — you got any new art?
i figured Margot would like my landscapes ;)
We had a lot of fun. Wish we could attract younger readers. My little sister and I used to read Zola and walk the same streets, seeing if we could find any trace…
I won’t jump…! I promise…! *g*
Good night all! The temperatures here are fabulous, at 69 degrees, mid-day! I have my windows open!
Wah – I had the best banana beignet ever in this vietnamese restaraunt in the Quartier Latin, I think on Rue St. Denis. And a great belgian beer on the same street. Qwak I think it was called. Bier framboise.
oh good, you headed the warning
One usually heeds a warning, M’dear…! ;-)
It’s incubating. (Means I’m thinking, I’m thinking.:)
i always found it to be in my best interests :)
others i know would declare any warning an inducement to do said warned against activity
Now why do I like Keb Mo’s band so much. Easy going down home. So nice Suzanne.
Clearly, we need to talk. Au revoir, darling.
hey bb — how’s your bay tonight?
…inducement to do said warned against activity.
Hell’s ya…! Party on …! Lets Rawk even…! ;-)
Filling up with runoff sediment. No drainage program to stop it.
Bum tripping…not nice.
Not shit but will be if a gravity sewer goes in. Sand now.
sorry, was meaning it as in darn, drat, dangrabbit and not fecal
*heh* That’s a rather young Mick there, eh…? ;-)
I know I was bantering…need to polish my writing skills.
74 per the utube… many many moons ago
Set up a gym in my living room did 1.5 hours of weightlifting and stretching. Little pumped.
“I got the sun in the mornin and the moon at night” South facing slider.
Hey! Got art?
Fire fox 3.6 gives a choice of some banners. Nice.
hey sunny — how ya doing tonight?
Quick check-in after making a almost burned pan of pork chops. Turned a disaster about to happen to a success fulfilled.
It ain’t burned, only deeply caramelized! (Paul Paul Prudhomme would have been pleased!) A bit to bitter, so add some sugar. Ooops, not quite right. Add some Balsamic vinegar. Marvelous!
Now, I’ll bet you I can’t reproduce it in a 1000 years!
I did almost the same thing about 30 years ago. Saved that with some cold wine.
Ok, so give me another 30 years. (heh! I’ll be 103 then!)
hey starbuck — some of my best recipes started out as mistakes.
how ya doing tonight?
I do my friend just painted a large mural on High School wall sent me some samples. it is life in the offshore kelp beds so beautiful so many life forms hanging out in there just awesome and is part of an education program. I helped her breakdown her art show at the VETS Hall several months ago. Her husband plays in the band so much talent in one family with two dynamite young boys that are into cleaning up th beaches! Next gen bring em on baby! She may follow Wylan’s footsteps the whale mural guy who lives in Maui.
Lots of rain today and the radar is down, but last I looked it was still gonna rain.
Other than that, ok. How are you?
I’m good… started sending you a note, but it turned into a travelogue. It’s on edit-hold.
Raining hard. And then, tr-la, into the ’70s!!!
Mick and the boys in China a year or so ago
wet out here too. staying inside and dry here :)
hey sptatt — how ya doing tonight?
Hi Suz! The next year, Jagger posed for photos by Warhol and then signed each of the 10 Jaggers edition.
no rush and looking forward to it when it gets unheld.
hey emerson — how’s the east bay tonight?
neuro, long time no see…! ;-)
neuro, good to see you, where have you been?
Work’s done single malt in the glass cat asleep on the desk
My latest piece I’m working on is this Chopin Ballade.
I have it by memory through 3:57 in the recording I linked. Even though I’m not finished, I think I’ll put it up this weekend on the Art threads on Seminal. I frankly can’t believe I’ve managed to get through it so far since I decided to play it at Christmas, what withy everything going on.
an excellent way to end the day sptatt
oooooo that would be a great diary kelly — that is such a beautiful piece
ESPN claims Obama is about to ban fishing
life is good wish the whole world could feel as content as i do at this moment.
hi everyone, good to see you all. I don’t get around here much anymore, my loss not yours.
how’s kansas neuro?
congrats on the 100 ct
A Chopin Ballade isn’t the easiest thing in the literature to play!
Congratulations! Right now it’s kitten on the keys! My cat is trying to play and doing a better job than I!
Chopin’s 200th birthday was March 2, and I had hoped to snag this sucker all the way down by now. But life intrudes. No reason to stop though, and should at least post something…
KS is as looney as ever. Speaker of the House, an attorney in private life, is suing the state because of a law the legislature passed. If he wins the lawsuit, the legislature will have to pass a bill to pay any judgment. He says he has no conflict of interest. Bah!
oh, did I mention he is a Republican?
holy moly neuro. and he gets atty’s fees no matter what i bet. geez
Romaine salad with grape seed oil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, walnuts, avacado, sprouts, yogurt cheese, bits of wheat bread…thank you Dogges.
of course he is. its only the r’s that have figured out how to game the system — and then do so.
yes, he directly profits from the state’s loss. And this is while we are in the midst of a severe budget crisis. Unbelievable!
How do you do it, Suz! Quick as a fox you are!
Radar’s back. Looks real bad:
an essential part of dolce du vivre.
It’s past bedtime, just dropped by to say hi. See you all next time.
Would have been a fine salad with the pork. Hafta try it! Thanks!
infrared isn’t as bad as some i’ve seen since i’ve been up here
In my former life, I actually had one of these, signed by both, in my possession for a brief interval.
g’nite neuro — always a pleasure to see your fonts
i know how you feel i live in Nebraska currently and i can’t understand how the otherwise rationale people i deal with on a day to day basis can go into a voting booth and vote for… words fail without resorting to profanity
What happened to it, Sunny?
Guess I’ll toddle off to bed.
See ya all next go-around!
Now, here’s an entrance
Last I knew of it, was in the hands of a major contributor, now deceased.
Yep – here’s a bit, and I probably should re-record it too.
Chopin Etude, book 2, no 1, A flat
I have walked Paris for thirty years, and still love to do so.
Ohhhh, can I go on your next trip? I first began walking paris in 1965 and don’t get to do so nearly enough.
i can’t wait to hear the whole thing kelly
Isn’t that a beautiful video?! Next best thing to seeing them live and in color. *g*
hey mauimom — how’s your island tonight?
Did you sell it, Sunny? That’s a small edition-only 50.
I can assist in resorting to…but is is not very creative more like inability to express extreme feelings into rational expressions. Snark is probably a good tool in these cases.
Rant and rage like Shakespeare is also delicious. Burton and Taylor did pretty well in some film that comes to mind…”Taming of the Shrew” and “Who’s afraid of Virginia Wolff”.
remember that tour from the Superdome a buddy of mine in the stagehands union got me back stage didn’t even have to bring anything with you just the air would’ve gotten you higher than a Georgia pine.
really well done — i could almost smell that concert smoke smell
*heh* I stumbled upon it, unlike my zed…! ;-)
What year was that, sptatt?
I did stroll down the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in the late 80′s…! ;-)
i refer to my esteemed senator from Nebraska who’s tendencies towards goat fellatio do not in any way take away from his love of America.
Oh no. I just got to stroke it for a day or two. I’d be surprised if it has ever been sold.
97 thank you google
if i may jump in i lived in Paris in the 71 but my coonass French just didn’t seem to be understandable there i much prefer Marseilles lived above a bar on the docks while i was a stringer for AP.
This may not fly with the Patriotic Senator so much. G)
Fellatio, also called fellation, is oral sex performed upon the penis. It may be performed to induce orgasm and ejaculation of semen, or it can be used as …
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fellatio – Cached – Similar
Probably worth about $150,000, I’d guess.
That must’ve been cool…! ;-)
Sorry to take so long to reply. Had to go read everything from 44 on.
Maui is quiet tonight. it’s been quite windy here, also raining a lot. However, we LOVE rain, because we get so little of it.
Where did you get fellatio from? Was beyond my spheres of influence.
i like the rain too — especially now that i am not out in it wearing a banana suit pretending to be a traffic signal….i love watching the rain bands come across the bay
Been to Wylayn’s Whale gallery in Maui?
This morn was soggy, but, it did clear up beautifully here in Hilo town…! ;-)
Me 77′ lotsa skating kids. And concrete Like South France a lot they talk slower.
I hope you’re writing about this. Sounds interesting.
i fear i am coming down with a chest cold folks. time for me to grab the vaporub and get ta’ rubbing.
g’nite all *le poof*
No. I suspect it’s over in Lahaina, which is over an hour from me. “T-shirts & tourists” there. Only reason to go there is a Barnes & Noble [only one on the island].
I live “up-country,” on the side of the volcano, at about 2500 ft.
CT, what on earth do you do to feed your brain on the Big Island? I’ve been here two years, and it’s so intellectually barren.
No book club(s), few decent movies, one good bookstore, no theater, few concerts. It feels like what I imagine rural Idaho is like, but with fewer guns. Equal number of dogs and trucks, however.
Stationed at Diamond head USMC 1956 amazed by the flash showers. Then sunshine, just stand under a roof for a few minutes and poof gone. Hawaii is so unique.
indeed it was great wine incredible food i young blue-eyed handsome and fit the ladies liked my southern manners and… the more important thing is i learned to appreciate dolce du vivre the sweetness of living. i consider myself fortunate that while i have the means, they pay me ridiculously for what i do i learned that more and more of less and less is not the answer, which allows me to help in ways that really matter.
“When yer lost in the rain in Juarez
And it’s Easter Time too.
When yer gravity fails,
And yer negativity
Don’t pull you through.
Don’t put on any airs
When yer down on Rue Morgue Avenue
They got a lot of crazy women there
Really make a mess outta you.
. . . .I’m goin BACK to New York City, I do believe I’ve had enough.”
Feel better, Suzanne and sleep well.
Nice I have probably driven by your house up to the top. Lot of interesting flora and fauna hiding residences. Lahaina lots of Hotels tourists golf courses. I had a time share for a week liked the local market south a ways.
St. Marks St. 1969 Miles Davis at the Irridium $5.00 cover
sleep well dream great
Nite, all. Only 10:13 here, but I’m off to bed. Have to learn to come in earlier so I can read the comments as they occur, rather than entering with a pile of “homework” to do before I can join the fun.
I was raised in SE Asia, never saw Europe.
As to great jazz shows, from when I started going?
’70. Thru to ’76 or so.
I saw great jazz fests in the Bay Area (SF) at various venues, that were two day concerts.
I never saw Miles.
I saw the rest of them.
The whole French/Parisian mystique is enthralling, but I never got that way.
I went to the mountains of CA to find my soul, as a late teen and early 20 something.
Never went abroad, was raised abroad . . .
If I had the money, I’d do Europe and sleep in hostels if I could.
For the music, art, languages, and to show some of them how to cook . . *G*
YEah, I like food.
Nice chattin witcha, thanks to you and CE and others for the French Mystique . . .
I used to speak good French as a child in SE Asia . . in the 50′s.
Antibes, 1969-not a bad band. *g*
That’s interesting. I’ll never be burdened by the pressures of owning valuable art *g*
Hi folks ! Looks like I missed the fun. Tonight I made pad Thai from scratch.
I should make it for my mom and sister when they visit this summer.
I never had Thai food growing up on Vulcan. I think they will like it too. I’ll send ‘em home with rice noodles and kaffa lemon leaves.
Yums. I experimented with making tom kha soup this year. Easy and delish, but locating ingredients was tough – took forever to run down galangal and lime leaves. Got em in the freezer now!
Made me wonder what the local restaurants do.
Edit– where did you get your recipe?
