mary mcc you are gonna love the ending of this toon
Imagine that – 50 years old, and considered late in the Buggs series.
Just fine, you?
I love this one. Hey!
going well — am well stocked. the hired girls came today and lugged up a week’s worth of wood. supposed to get a cold storm moving down from alaska sun even that should bring the snow level down to between the 1,000 ft and 1,500 ft level. gonna be cold
hey margot — how’s ohio tonight?
That was a good cartoon, Suz. Raining a bit here.
Glad to hear that Ron’s okay…
thanks loohoo. a bit is good. ya’ll were getting a lotta rain all at once there for a while
control
funny. I am a vegetarian and my name is mud.
hey nahant — how’s deadwood city?
Wet in the SFV too. (Not raining right now, but it was an hour ago.)
hey pj — how ya doing tonight?

Glad to hear that at least one major republican doner has closed his checkbook (except to individual candidates).
whoa. good news.
the beginning of the end of mr steele’s reign?
SFV? San Francisco Valley?
About time he woke up and smelled the shit in the pit!
Watching cartoons on my computer (thanks!) … and starting to build a database from three volumes of church records that have a crappy index. (It’s going to take a while. Like maybe the rest of the year.)
No possibility he survives this. His baffoonery up until now had to be tolerated, but this has got to be the kiss of death. No chance he hadn’t seen the powerpoint materials.
It has been sunny, really nice.
about four hundred miles south of it.
iirc it was his finance director who did this. no way that dood it all on his own.
gonna need these
Pancho & Lefty
Many versions of this on YouTube, this one’s the best I’ve listened to tonight.
san fernando valley?
hey mr why — that is smooth. how ya doing tonight?
Hey, LateNiters – just a quick drop-by — I see above that Mary’s Ron is okay — good to know. Is he out of the hospital? (Haven’t been able to come by before today).
hey tejan — ron got outta the hospital yesterday — heart is fine – was really bad acid reflux. how ya doing?
One of the blonds on FOX took Steele to the cleaners. I’ve always said that his skull is just too small.
I’ve never heard this version. I think I’ve mostly heard the Willie and Waylon version but I like this better.
great ‘toon, Suze! I love that wascally wabbit.
he knew the job was dangerous when he took it
hey ndfg — how ya doing tonight?
How are you, NDFG???
Didn’t play for me, but I get the idea!
it plays for me — i double checked the link and it is good. don’t know why it won’t play for you
*waves at Suze & LooHoo*
I’ve been spending some time tonight looking thru the marvelous link you gave me, loohoo. Great seeds there!
The Godfather.

niters all…
hey emerson — ice is by the power stations. i fixed your link for ya
g’nite nahant
how big of a garden are ya planning this year ndfg?
Oh, that’s good to hear. Caught a clip of Bill Clinton talking about his recent episode post-bypass, and wondered if that was what happened to Ron. Glad it wasn’t.
I spent this evening trying to understand my new upgraded cell phone. It replaces a 5 or 6 yr old primitive basic one; the new one has web browsing, alarm clock, calculator, and all kinds of
crap, er, stuff, I won’t figure out for awhile. It was time, but geez, the work!Speaking of work, I have had some lately; short bits of temp assignments, and have more coming up this week. Sent off some more applications/resumes; most non-working days I spend doing something like that. But I also started taking a once-a-week yoga class, and a beginning knitting class. Always wanted to learn to knit, and would try to learn from a book, but never got very far. Think I’m finally getting it this time; fun, and relaxing.
Spring arriving here – temps predicted in the low 70′s next week.
Smooch.
smooches back atcha babe — you headed for a g’thud or was that a howdy smooch?
Hey, ndfg, how are you? Perusing seed catalogs in the last days of winter?
Mine arrived, but I haven’t planted them yet! I’m overrun with celery and onion from last year, and I’m waiting to clear that first. Cream of celery soup, I guess…
i updated to a ‘smart’ phone from a cell phone that did not text. was quite the learning curve.
sounds like fun tejan. if not now when is my motto about doing things that i wanna do and have put off for various reasons
Thanks Suz. So many vids to play, but my computer is not cooperating. Oh well…
as big a garden as i can bribe my niece and nephews to dig up for me *grins*
my grandson and i had a serious discussion last night about the garden. He wants me to plant LOTS of lettuce. And a fence so the bunnies don’t jump in. I assured him that i always put a row of lettuce around all my gardens and that stops the rabbits. They start to eat lettuce and don’t bother the rest of the garden. He didn’t like that idea because he wants to eat the lettuce. We compromised … double-row edging of lettuce on all the gardens. One row for bunnies, one row for grandson.
for some reason your cut and paste is adding an ampersand and a buncha stuff after. if ya edit it and remove those, it works
how wonderful — how old is he?
Man, he was great. Influenced a lot of the younger guys, including Michael Jackson.
Smart lady.
The second row of defense would be carrots.
LOL.
Too right! It might have been that 60th birthday last fall….plus, I found myself putting off taking on anything that might interfere with a job or temp assignment, but then there were no jobs or temp assignments, so I wasn’t doing either one, just sitting around, spending too much time on the computer, ; )
Btw, speaking of classic cartoons – I watched “Snow White” on my new, hand-me-down 32″ tv tonight. Beautiful and amazing. Hadn’t seen it in years, but the detail was astonishing. (my ex got a new, bigger one….so he gave me his old one. He and his buddies brought it over and set it up last week. I will never be able to move the thing on its own, but it’s amazing. My aging eyes were having trouble seeing images on the old 15″ screen.)
hi tej! i’ve also always wanted to learn to knit, same result trying to teach myself from a book. Good for you re signing up for class! And yes, it’s starting-seeds-indoors season in the upper midwest. Some things can go directly in garden, but ‘maters have to be started inside. Our last-frost date is toward end of May, so gardening is a fast ‘n furious proposition up here.
oooooooh i love bigger screens now that i have older eyes.
The G-Unit just turned six last week, he’s in kindergarten.
i’m afraid i’d attract a Bugs Bunny class of rabbits if i planted carrots close to the perimeter.
that’s a wonderful age — so eager to learn and explore. he’s gonna have a grand summer with gramma
Hey Busted! I get to see Norah Jones in the Spreckles Theater in April. It’s a wonderful venue!
Yeah, been there, too. Our last frost here is unpredictable. Can start many plants in Feb., but there can be frost in late April. On our April honeymoon peach trees, in blossom when we left, were frozen while we were gone. No peaches that year. In fact, after a couple of years, the peach trees were so unpredictable we gave up and cut them down (there were only 2).
I have no gardening room here, but am going to try herbs in pots on the front steps again. It doesn’t get a lot of sun, but except the last few summers, alternating true drought and heavy rain when everything died, I’ve gotten enough to use. We’ve had enough of a winter this yr. to appreciate spring. Good luck with your veggies, not to mention lettuce! I love your solution to the bunny depredations, btw.
Just ask the star of Suz’ toon!
bugs liked his carrots dunked in coffee
Ohhh, you are going to love that!
I am still trying to find the old Bugs classic,
Cook! Where’s my Hausenphefer?
Gesundheit
this whatcha looking for busted?
Heh, I can be a persistent little bastard.
That’s the kind I’ve encountered before in the garden, years ago. Lolling back lying under plants, munching away as my mother tried shooing them. They didn’t budge. Smart-ass rabbits.
ha — beatcha to it busted
when my girls were younger, we got a rescue rabbit, he came with the name “Snowy River.” My girls wanted to rename him, and my brother suggested Hausenphefer. Smart-ass baby brother.
I knew ya would.
This POS computer is killin’ me.
It took this long just to get back in here!
dood — one of these days you are gonna have to get a new pooter
Thanks for the Bugs, Suzanne —I’ve learned a new gesture with that “scream!”
hey prostrated — long time no see your fonts. how ya doing?
OK, two minutes just to refresh the page now.
Nice to see y’all say Hi to everyone.
Hugz,
Busted.
g’nite busted
Cute!
per wiki, its the shortest bugs cartoon and one of the few where sam is the victim
BTW, before I finally give up on trying to talk to my peeps in somewhat real time, stop by and wish me Hippo Birdies at Ornery Bastard.
hippo blogiversary busted
Congratulations Busted!

Hi Folks! Is newtonusr here tonight?
Blame Jane for getting me started, I still do.
Love ya all.
Bye.
hey spocko — he was here earlier — don’t know if he is still around. how did it go today?
I don’t know I couldn’t go because I was at at bar mitzvah in Sacramento.
He said that he would be in that area today and I wanted to know if he attended.
she’s the one who inspired me to start my wee blog too dood.
evening, Suz – hiya firegods
oh crap — a check of comments shows he’s not commented since shortly after this post went up spocko :(
Congratulations, Busted!!
hey ppd — how’s the south south bay tonight?

fuck i did it again dammitalltohell
Hey PPDCUS!
I didn’t see anything…
Hey Constitution!
*laughing* thanks babe i needed that
hahahahaaaa! sorry, i shouldn’t laugh, but it’s like some strange jinx.
LOL! We must have the same kind of computer.
I know what my problem is, I have a graphics card from somewhere around the time when Jayzus was cavorting around with the dinosaurs. It is the Ad at the top that is killing me.
Thanks for the well wishes and right back at ya.
Now I am truly done,
THUD!
That’s on the Blanche vs. Halter race in the http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/06/AR2010030602239.html?nav=hcmodule.
No sweat. I’ll ask him when next I see him.
The bar mitzvah was great. I told a couple of relatives what I was doing re the open carry people and directed them to the San Francisco Chronicle where they talk about Lee Rod gers getting fired from K S F O. I get mentioned and then the station people weasel out of giving the reason he was fired.
I guess that is why they get paid the big bucks, to obscure the truth.
Here is the article where I’m mentioned.
They didn’t open their books 3 years ago and explain which advertisers they lost and why and they won’t now. But unlike them, I have evidence in the form of letters from the advertisers who leave as proof.
Right wing radio, “We lie from top to bottom!”
Hiya Suz, LH & emerson
Just finished watching Rounder Records’ 40th anniversary — what a show!
i know… i couldn’t hit it if i was trying
g’thud dood
hot dayam
KQED showed the T.A.M.I. music show from what seemed to be the mid-60′s. James Brown, Stones, Marvin Gaye, Miracles, Beach Boys, Supremes-all in the same studio in SoCal. It was great. Try to catch it on your local PBS station.
Will do. Thanks.
oh crap that was on up here tonight and i forgot. luckily the local pbs station reruns its prime time lineup starting at 0100 two days after it aired — i’ll be able to catch it early mon morning
Great choice of cartoon. I enjoyed the six-ish minutes of silly.
I think the studio was in your neighborhood, Loo Hoo. Maybe Santa Monica?
supremes
hey joyce — glad ya liked it. how ya doing tonight?
and welcome to firedoglake. if ya have any questions, just ask away.
What was great was they let a lot of the bands do multiple songs. I think the Stones did 4. The girls were swooning for the Bad Boys!
I’m well, thanks. Any night that includes Bugs is bound to be good. Of course, now that there are cartoons, I’ll never get back to the reading that I sat down to catch up on.
marvin
i do cartoons here every sat nite starting at 10pm pacific. gotta have a break from the seriousness of the week and cartoons are the best silly i know.
I got all excited. I thought: Marvin.
*sqkaweee** love marvin — the marvin toons are rare finds on the utubes. they seem to get pulled a lot :(
Oooh, the Vegas ending. I remember those dresses very well. Funny what you remember from the days of being 12!
That is sad. Marvin (and K9) were some of the best characters. Clearly, I’m going to have to start staying up late to watch cartoons on Saturdays now.
I don’t know, emerson. Hope we can get it online.
most of the music i saw was on the teevee or in films back then. otherwise it came outta my powder blue transister radio or the record player
love doing the cartoons here. i do music on tues, thur nites along with alternating sundays. eureka springs hosts on mon, wed, and fri and alternating sundays.
tis his week for sunday nite tomorrow.
late late nite is my fav time of nite at the lake.
OK, here’s my last try tonite only because it is my favorite video.

If you’re still here, where did you watch that? On some digital channel? Premium, like HBO?
(I wandered off for awhile and, having odd ‘puter problems also, couldn’t get back right away)
Welcome! Here’s your prize.
pbs is running it as part of their pledge drive. i bet pbs dot org will have it online if not tonight, soon. they are usually pretty good about putting stuff up.
If you didn’t catch TDS smackdown on HCR — it’s not to be missed.

Hello everyone. Emerson, I like the 2x JJ you used in my name. Hadn’t seen that before.
Oops, my bad, re rounder concert = I thought you all were talking about two different ones, something else on PBS. We definitely did not have it on my PBS station tonight.
What part of the world are you from?
Originally, SoCal. Living in Michigan now.
i’m on netarts bay on the north oregon coast

Maybe it’s my dial-up hell connection?
Try it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkyogzTZDiU
Awesome. Always fun to pick up a new handle along with a new site. I think I’m going to take a cue from NDFG and head off though. It’s so late here that it’s almost early. Gotta get some sleep.
Thanks everyone for making my first jump into the lake enjoyable!
are they still farmin’ in downtown beneath the skyways, farmgirl?
high fructose corn syrup dreams, ndfg

g’nite jjoyce — a pleasure to meet you
I’m in SoCal, JJoyce. Unfortunately in Issa’s temporary 49th.
i’m fading fast myself.
g’nite all and thanks for letting me spend some time with ya tonight.
*le poof*
You can be Issa’s Spocko, LH
g’nite JJoyce. See you around.
night Suz – be well
Thanks Protect-I’ll be on the lookout for that.
Jane in the WaPo yet again!
Thanks again, Suz!
I have a physical reaction to seeing Issa, and it ain’t good. Isn’t he the richest representative in the House?
Issama will be starring in the remake of Hemingway’s The Scum Also Rises.
Actually, I think that Issa sees the handwriting. He’s actually made some sense in the last few months. Checking Bernanke and the fed, and voted against some goofball legislation that I can’t remember at the moment.
Yup. Think of him every time you hear one of those gawd-awful car alarms.
Nite, all. way past bedtime!
Hah! In my old neighborhood he’d be known as Kissa. He wouldn’t like it, but it would stick.
Yeah, that’s it!
time to go . Nice playing with you all.
