ha hey bb — how’s your bay tonight?
Another great soaker of a day…! ‘Course, we have/had a BBQ planned for tomorrow…! ;-)
Has your daughter started shopping for her Princeton wardrobe? Can’t go to school in a swim attite like UH kids.
Got real cold all of the sudden. Way down in the low 50′s.
hey ppd — how ya doing tonight?
yay and rats ct
supposed to get down into the 30′s this weekend — but we will have clear skies and sunshine during the day
I am totally engrossed in rebirth I do drive by the bay twice a day. There were some impressive tides last week. How’s your bay? Lotsa flocks?
good thanks – tired though
Princeton…? I’ll be lucky to get her into UHH…! ;-)
Trust me a loooong story…! *g*
birds are returning to the bay (or passing over) on their trips.
still a ways to go before they are all back for the season. hell, still officially winter according to the calendar
snarky cassie got accepted at princeton
You are trusted my friend. Money talks bullshit walks. Millions of kids will be challenged financially. Not to worry the banksters will hock them for life. Today was tuition protest for California state Universities.
Oh you poor thing, lol!
See, that’s what I was going for!
hey margot — how’s ohio tonight?
Princeton’s undergraduate charges next year will include: $34,290 for tuition, a 3.9 percent increase from $33,000 in 2007-08; $6,205 for room, up 3.8 percent from $5,980; and $5,200 for board, an increase of 4 percent from $5,000. Princeton’s total fee package consistently has positioned it lowest among peer institutions.
They do offer $30k in grants. Just real expensive.
fingers and toes crossed she has a full scholorship
It was really bright out today. I mean, both my son and I were looking at the sun streaming in the windows like we’d never seen such a thing. Blinking like cave-dwellers at the end of a long winter…
Oh, so lovely to hear the birds — yes I heard some tonight as we drove home, with tons of sunlight. Your photos are lovely Suzanne, but I still do not understand the gmail buzz (but there — your lovely photographs!).
trying to remember where ya put the sunglasses kinda day :) those kinda days are wonderful at the end of winter
Sun glasses! Smile a sunny day we had one too. Now a week of rain. After a decade of drought we are partying.
i don’t understand it either ce — and thank you. your part of ohio get sunny today too?
Tons of sunlight — that’s just what I told Suzanne. How did we get all this winter sun?
You got a dughter runnin’ the grad school circuit too??…well, the schools that mine is lookin at will get her placed so she ken pay off whatever assistanships don’t cover before her first born has my great grandchild. Hang in there Brother CT…the kids are gunna clean up our messes!!

It has to be near the spring solstice. OK, March 20. Whoopie!
*heh* The eldest is kicking arse and taking names, I still need to work on the others…! Altho, the middlun is very good with animals and is seriously looking at vet school…! ;-)
Are they selling snow cones? s)
Mine has never stopped…! ;-)
I’m tired of heavy coats, boots, bags and everything we need to haul into work everyday. I dream of spring — light, birdsong, great sunsets…
Come to the Isles, Mon…! ;-)
I was indisposed for a bit but I be heah now!!!!!!!!!!!
middle of june to end of sept up here. they are trying to convert an old bulding in town into an indoor year round market. the opening keeps getting pushed back and back and back so i figure its another year of the ‘old’ summer only schedule
Nope, that’s pretty much gone ‘cept for a few leftover dirty spots that are looking permanent.
I’m hoping for asparagus.
dood you trying to bust the margins (laughing)
wow! you broke the margin *g*
Please keep my email in your book — one never knows when I might appear!
I could tell you why I was late, but you really, REALLY don’t want to know.
Got us some real music on da board tonight! :-D
I’m so proud of myself. I break the margins pretty regularly. Ask Suze. :-D
the stuff i usually put up front isn’t ‘real music’?
Good for her! Tex Betsy must be SO proud!
That (Margin Bustin’) Guy!
Great Delbert tune, Suzanne. *g*
I hear you sister!
Here comes the sun
I hope the protest spreads beyond college kids – I hope it spreads like wildfire, people being tired of hte bullshit, people being tired of the lies of BOTH SIDES, which have become one, great feudal Oligarchy, rendering the rest of us serfs, to kill each other over scraps.
I have wondered long, what it will take to wake people up…to get people riled up enough, and I have no answer.
So I listen to Delbert and do my best to feel better in the short term.
hey busted *smooches*
“Those who are not busy being born are busy dying”. (It’s alright Ma)
Norseski is for no more killing. Peace on you who work for peace.
usually yeah…but this is about as real as it gets…;)
hey emerson — that guy sent it to me asking that i play it
Asparagus…hmmm…could stir some imaginations.
OK OK, yeah you put up good stuff…but the lake always needs mo Delbert… ;)
Oh! I loved this! What great sunsets, and the music…
Hey ThatGuy, how come you never told us Delbert was so good? [Kidding...]
Really enjoyed this video – thanks Suzanne!
Requests huh? I like that idea.
Although I like anything you pick, Suz. (Eddie Haskell)
in spite of ourselves
hey eg — how ya doing?
Boomers. Tom Brokow reports…
United Nations agreed to ban Blue Fin Tuna catches. Good news. Japan is opposing this.
Bad news. Green Peace needs do re mi
Keep breathing folks. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Enjoy the moment…what else is there? Be here and now.
eddie always picked such winners.
Been doing some spring cleaning and sorting. All very therapeutic. How did I get so much stuff…papers, books, random projects…
Each little accumulation seemed like a good idea at the time.
How’s Oregon life?
relaxing. i could sit and stare at the bay for hours on end. looking forward to some sunshine
“Eddie’s Girl” was classic. :-)
*Peering out of Igloo*
What is this thing you call Sunshine ?!!
is that a g’nite bb?
hey petro — didja see your shadow?
Natch, my shadow is hibernatin’ … *g*
You have all those gold medals to keep you warm! Here’s some HP to warm you up (sliding your way.)
Thanks Buddy !
I got some Grand Marnier for anyone who wants … this includes you lurkers, if you check in.
ha! i figured it was still hungover from celebrating. how ya been dood?
I’ve been trying to show ya for the last what, 5-6 years, at least…! ;-)
i’ll take some petro
I’ve never tasted it, but for you, I’ll try it:).
Recovering from all the celebratin’ … going to be a nice weekend here in the frozen tundra.
Of course we all had a good laugh at this Asshat likening Canada to Nazi Germany
Ours is regional – state sponsored. Lots of sheds and one enclosed hvac building with permanent year-round vendors. The enclosed building is the only place stuff not local is permitted. It’s where most of the action is in winter.
There are always a few hearty souls out in the sheds – I try to support em as I can. Great trees and plants year round.
Oh stop teasing me … *g*
How’s life in paradise, CT ?
Attagirl, Margot … pouring you a double ! *g*
You too, Suz.
ahhhhhhh thanks petro
Reading comments about pups’ kids in college. I love it.
One of the kids in my class tonight asked something along the lines of “if the Anchorage schools’ string orchestras are so good [they are], and the Anchorage Youth Symphony is so good [it is], why doesn’t the string section of the Anchorage Symphony sound like the Leipzig Gewendhaus Orchestra”?
I explained that those talented kids you hear in the Anchorage schools and the Anchorage Youth Symphony go off to colleges and universities down below (the rest of the USA) and don’t come back after they graduate. They can find good jobs in the arts down below, while Alaskans – by and large – scorn anyone who identifies as an artist, unless the “artist” makes dead animals look alive on a wall.
hey et — how’s your greenhouse doing this almost spring?
You’re very smart. You knew I was TRYING to post Stones, so you went the LINDA route. Very impressive!
Speakin’ of great Alaskans, how’s things with Caribou Barbie ? *g*
fixed your link too :) it was gonna be either the stones or andrew dice clay (laughing)
Besides a bit of a scare that had us ‘fleeing’ for the hills…! It’s fine…! ;-)
oh that’s wonderful margot — i’ve not heard that in years
Hah! Not the Dice Clay type, although he grew up on da island.
Come on Baby, Light My Fire
*heh* How do you keep them on the farm after seeing Gay Paree, eh…? ;-)
Ok, ms Smarty Pants, who’s the guy singing backup and playing the Les Paul? >:-D
Apparently, they dubbed most of the audience laughter into the Leno gig in post production.
Then she went with her entourage to sweep all the goooodies out of an Oscar-related event.
Who knows what’s next?
I’m starting peppers and tomatoes inside the house. Way too early to move things to my mostly unheated greenhouse. It is still capable of getting very cold at night. Right now – plus 18 F.
you meant “fork,” right…?
Beautiful, Margot. I like this one, too.
OK-the new you tube configuration is obviously too much for me. :-(
I was relieved that Hawaii was spared, as well as Japan.
I’m out … G’nite all ! Have a great weekend !
i meant fuck. i try to not hit the 100 and i forking forgot.
LOL … keep shining the light on her. We really appreciate all the work you and the Bloggers in Alaska do.
g’nite petro thanks for the double
a reality tv show
At least you’re on the plus side of the dial…! ;-)
not sure whats forking up since you are just cut and pasting
What a treat. Thanks, Emerson. I sure wish I could play guitar at all, and like that guy with the slide, especially.
That is the great and under-rated Waddy Wachtel, the ONLY MAN ALIVE who could take Keith Richards place in the Stones because he can do Keith as well as Keith. He played with Keith in the Expensive Winos. Speaking of which…The Expensive Winos
She’s the opposite, if anything. Part of the addiction people have to her.
yeah thanks.I don’t know what the problem is, really.
i heard that she is meeting with some hollywood producer and they are pitching a reality tv show that ‘does not include her family’ to various studios. that’s what my local news reported
It is quite beautiful out right now. Calm, stars. But it is supposed to be blowing 75 knots by 11:00 in the morning.
Me too. When Duane Allman recorded that song on “Eat a Peach” I must have listened to it 1000 times.
*oof* That wind chill will drop it right quick into negative territory…!
That’s really sad, et.
wow i did not know that thanks
I plan on mostly staying inside until it is over. This has not been a bad winter so far, and it is almost over.
Tell me what you think of this one.
Our daughter – ETette – will probably not come back, except for visits. She loves Alaska, but there are too few opportunities up here for environmental scientists who don’t want to hire out to oil companies, mega fishing companies or mining operations to write their propaganda and junk science.
thats really sad et
don’t think I ever heard Keith singing lead before. I kinda like it!
Ooooh, sweet groove. Yes, I like that alot. First time I’ve heard them. Thanks Margot. *g*
But true…! 8-(
Maybe The Sarah Palin Show will allow the viewers to vote her off the country!
hey spocko — how ya doing?
That’s dreadful. No “good guy” environmental science up there?
Whoa, hot stuff on the old classic! Who’s on vocals and killing it?
the derek trucks band. they are forking awesome. he also plays slide in the allman bros with warren hayes. that’s mike mattison on vocals
My favorite Baba vid. Townsend was all hopped up on the goofballs that night.
So I’m debating going down to Palo Alto tomorrow to talk to business owners in the path of the next open carry rally.
I called two main locations and the politician whose office is on the same block as the meet up local.
They are really pushing this as a second amendment story and the media is buying their narrative.
Never saw Derek’s band. Something to look forward to for sure.
they’re all wasted
*heh* You’re the ‘official’ FDL YouTube historian/curator, eh…? ;-)
i see the issue is starting to get some coverage — its been on local tv up here and iirc there was a story at sf gate about it
naw — just a pup who gets to play backstage and surf utubes :)
Slit skirts by Townson is one of my favorite songs.
That is all.
fair to middling — been better and been worse thanks for asking
Dang, sure sounds rough, M’dear…! ;-)
the wiki article shows the name of the band derek and mrs derek (susan tedeschi) tour together — that’s what i wanna see
i’m a very lucky pup
She’s freakin’ unearthly, CT! Like the girl bands festival last w/e. Every song was better than the last.
from the twilight zone?
What I find frustrating is how easily the media fall for the same
story line. To do this narrative flip correctly I need to :
1) Get evidence they aren’t wanted by the businesses
2) provide a message that isn’t a 2nd amendment one
3) move the story to property owner, business and customer rights
4) visually embarrass them on Tv were they look like the insecure bullies they are
a good visual would be for them to walk down the street and when they go into a business being told they are not allowed.
Then when they try to browbeat the owner with their rights be told off by the owner. “this is note the wild west. This is not you home this is MY business and it is my right to tell you to leave. “
Fair to middling. Is that a southern phrase?
up here the news has been reporting it from the corporate angle… since starbucks is based in seattle tis considered local news even thought it is appearing to be a national story
Btw, Suz, my wifi is so intermittent I can’t open any of the clips, muchless, link to any…! 8-(
i guess so — got it from my mom, a fine southern lady. sometimes my drawl comes out and catches me in my unawares
dood you are so missing out :(
alright, that’s just freaky!
freaky … but good
*heh* I’d have to go down to the lobby to enjoy ‘em…! ;-)
“Every Time I Roll The Dice”
HAH! I’m in Vegas watching a buncha craps!
A recent story was Starbucks saying the didn’t want to be in the middle of this. That just pissed me off. They have mishandled this.
What I want to know is if they have polled customers and staff “Are you more or less likely to want to hang out at Starbucks if customers are armed?”
if a shooting happens after you have made it clear that guns are welcome, is your liability insurance going to go up? Have your risk analysts looked at this?
Yer teasing me…! Right…? *g*
kelly! how was your birfday dood?
I also meant to say “baby needs a new pair of shoes!” Comin’ Out!!!
I quit counting the b-days, but the acknowledgments were nice!
Back atcha. I like any game where you can shout stuff like “coming out”!
And “snake eyes!” or 8 the hard way!
milestones should be celebrated kelly
One also does lose track of ‘em…! Happy B-day…! *g*

We gave up on getting the Condo sold only to find out from our first renter applicant the school a block away has Chinese and Spanish for grade school kids and Seattle changed the rules only in district kids get to go to local schools.
So we figure renting is good for now. Asians should kill to move here when the economy goes up.
Aloha, Suz…! Sleep tight…!
Sorry Spocko getting snappy didn’t mean to take it out on you.
