You are trusted my friend. Money talks bullshit walks. Millions of kids will be challenged financially. Not to worry the banksters will hock them for life. Today was tuition protest for California state Universities.
Princeton’s undergraduate charges next year will include: $34,290 for tuition, a 3.9 percent increase from $33,000 in 2007-08; $6,205 for room, up 3.8 percent from $5,980; and $5,200 for board, an increase of 4 percent from $5,000. Princeton’s total fee package consistently has positioned it lowest among peer institutions. http://www.princeton.edu/main/news/archive/S20/13/67G97/index.xml?section=newsreleases
They do offer $30k in grants. Just real expensive.
It was really bright out today. I mean, both my son and I were looking at the sun streaming in the windows like we’d never seen such a thing. Blinking like cave-dwellers at the end of a long winter…
Oh, so lovely to hear the birds — yes I heard some tonight as we drove home, with tons of sunlight. Your photos are lovely Suzanne, but I still do not understand the gmail buzz (but there — your lovely photographs!).
You got a dughter runnin’ the grad school circuit too??…well, the schools that mine is lookin at will get her placed so she ken pay off whatever assistanships don’t cover before her first born has my great grandchild. Hang in there Brother CT…the kids are gunna clean up our messes!!
*heh* The eldest is kicking arse and taking names, I still need to work on the others…! Altho, the middlun is very good with animals and is seriously looking at vet school…! ;-)
middle of june to end of sept up here. they are trying to convert an old bulding in town into an indoor year round market. the opening keeps getting pushed back and back and back so i figure its another year of the ‘old’ summer only schedule
I hope the protest spreads beyond college kids – I hope it spreads like wildfire, people being tired of hte bullshit, people being tired of the lies of BOTH SIDES, which have become one, great feudal Oligarchy, rendering the rest of us serfs, to kill each other over scraps.
I have wondered long, what it will take to wake people up…to get people riled up enough, and I have no answer.
So I listen to Delbert and do my best to feel better in the short term.

Ours is regional – state sponsored. Lots of sheds and one enclosed hvac building with permanent year-round vendors. The enclosed building is the only place stuff not local is permitted. It’s where most of the action is in winter.
There are always a few hearty souls out in the sheds – I try to support em as I can. Great trees and plants year round.
Reading comments about pups’ kids in college. I love it.
One of the kids in my class tonight asked something along the lines of “if the Anchorage schools’ string orchestras are so good [they are], and the Anchorage Youth Symphony is so good [it is], why doesn’t the string section of the Anchorage Symphony sound like the Leipzig Gewendhaus Orchestra”?
I explained that those talented kids you hear in the Anchorage schools and the Anchorage Youth Symphony go off to colleges and universities down below (the rest of the USA) and don’t come back after they graduate. They can find good jobs in the arts down below, while Alaskans – by and large – scorn anyone who identifies as an artist, unless the “artist” makes dead animals look alive on a wall.
I’m starting peppers and tomatoes inside the house. Way too early to move things to my mostly unheated greenhouse. It is still capable of getting very cold at night. Right now – plus 18 F.

yeah thanks.I don’t know what the problem is, really.
i heard that she is meeting with some hollywood producer and they are pitching a reality tv show that ‘does not include her family’ to various studios. that’s what my local news reported
It is quite beautiful out right now. Calm, stars. But it is supposed to be blowing 75 knots by 11:00 in the morning.
