Here are the first day vote tallies to determine which members of Congress become FDL Fire Dogs, and receive community fundraising and GOTV support in 2010. The contest will continue until next Tuesday, and each day at 3pm we’ll be announcing the running tally.

We do know some elements of what will be in an initial package. You’ll see incentives to kickstart construction and infrastructure projects by adding money to the Highway Trust Fund, and some manner of job creation tax credit for small businesses (Harry Reid said that would go through Max Baucus’ Senate Finance Committee). Some safety-net spending, like extending unemployment benefits or the COBRA subsidy, may be included as well. But nobody really knows at this point.

Google initiated the matter by approaching the NSA after the recent discovery of intrusive attacks by Chinese interests last month, which is interesting in light of the fact Google made a point of publicly stating in 2008 they had never cooperated with the NSA on the Terrorist Surveillance Program.
