Oh, how Fox & Friends newly minted insanity disguised as facts always end up coming together:
Right-wing media figures have seized on comments Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made linking unemployment to a rise in domestic violence by suggesting that if he loses his re-election bid, then Reid, whose mother was a victim of domestic abuse, will subsequently become abusive toward his wife.
Other than Harry Reid being factually correct, this goes beyond mere talking points. The same day Steve Doocy decides to say that Democrat Harry Reid will abuse women if he loses reelection in Nevada the actual Republican Governor of Nevada Jim Gibbons had this revealed:
The federal civil suit was brought by Chrissy Mazzeo, a cocktail waitress who says that Gibbons assaulted and groped her in a parking lot after spending hours drinking at a Las Vegas restaurant…on February 5 of this year, the governor was deposed for four hours … [d]uring the deposition, Gibbons claimed that he hasn’t been sexually intimate with any woman since 1995, and that he’s “living proof that you can survive without sex for that long.”
So he couldn’t have abused a woman because he’s sexually frustrated…oh THAT never happens.
Yet, Republican Jim Gibbons is never mentioned on Fox & Friends.
Funny that.

About Firedoglake
I’ve never seen Fox punditing (I’ve lived overseas for years) and I frankly can’t believe that it’s as silly, vapid, and absurd as what I read about here in blogs. It’s entertaining, don’t get me wrong, but I have this sneaking suspicion all the time when reading these things that all of the progressives have just invented the whole network to write these stories about, I mean nobody could possibly be this stupid. Or gullible.
Brings the phrase; ‘You can’t make this stuff up!’ to mind.
No, we really would prefer not to have such mind boggling self-parody to blog/post about.
As a result of
it must be made up by the lefties? Is that really what you intended or do I misunderstand your comment?
Good morning and thanks for the post, Attaturk.
Keep your duodenum lining. Avoid what riles you.
Fox reigns supreme for numbing idiocy in the morning. Gets somewhat more competitive for the rest of the day.
For my mind, the worst aspect of Faux news is that there are voters out there that think they’re channeling reality. And form opinions based on those fantasies.
Oh yes you are.
My neighbours do exactly that. They swear up and down that something is true, true, true and so I have to take them to my computer and show 450,000 pages that prove the opposite. Even then they argue for the Murdoch point of view. Disheartening it is.
What they vote doesn’t matter as the damned elections are a fixed game anyway.
I take comfort in the fact that all this badmouthing of Democrats is producing more Democrats.
The right-wing slime machine has been working at fever pitch for two decades or so…and there are more Democrats than ever. Polls show that less than half of hate-radio listeners identify themselves as conservatives.
This is pretty funny if you think about it. It suggests that most of the people listening to right-wing hate talk don’t believe a word of it. The right are expending vast amounts of money and effort to create more Democrats. I think we can live with that.
PS: Please help me look for Ted Kennedy’s Seat
Sad stuff, and scary that these Faux viewers are just like actual psychotics, convinced of the reality of a total false universe and sure you’re just off the beam.
That Coakley woman was/is a product of the DLC (Dept. of Liarman and Clinton) not a good choice even though she called herself a Democrat. I would rather the devil I know in Brown.
One of their own featured freaks, Bill O’Really had his own little brush with a sexual harassment suit a few years back. But, that’s ok.
Good morning, pups. It’s Friedman, flying solo today. MoDo is off today, which is a very good thing. The Moustache of Wisdom addresses “Iraq’s Known Unknowns, Still Unknown,” and has a question: Will Iraq’s new politics triumph over its cultural divides, or will its cultural divides sink its fledgling democracy? He didn’t interview a cab driver or discuss Friedman Units, so I don’t know what to make of it.
Here he is.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready and I’ve got banana pancakes today. I’m all ready, with my favorite recording of “Messiah,” to celebrate Handel’s 325th birthday. I used to have a Siamese cat who would sit down, curl her tail around her front paws, and stare raptly at the speakers whenever we played it. Sensible kitteh! Have a great day.
Only 50% of their audience gets rabies. This is a good thing?
BTW, take a few minutes, turn off Morning Ho and his sidekick Meeka Colmes (fess up, we all know you’re watching), and give perry a hand in his quest to find Ted Kennedy’s seat.
perrylogan is the voice of the voice in my head.
The devil and his nemesis, war and peace, fox and nbc, national review and the nation, drudge and huffpo. Co-dependence.
I understand the impulse to stick for Harry Reid against these assholes, but let’s not forget, it is Harry Reid. He’s not a liberal, he’s just a Democrat. He happened to be speaking the truth here, and Steve Douchey is unbelievably tacky to say what he said, but keep in mind it’s just Harry Reid.
Thanks, Marion, a morning without a MoDo is a perfect complement to my fresh picked flowers from my yard.
I have been calling them repopposites for years.
Never underestimate the stupidity of a segment of the American viewing public and their enjoyment of programs that are on their level. Fox & Friends is hands down the dumbest program on Fox News. Take something on the level of your local morning show and make the vapid hosts talk about politics instead of the weather and cooking demonstrations. Each of the hosts is more of a moron than the next but Brian Kilmead has an extra creepiness factor that makes him stand out.
Keep f*cking that chicken.
This is the advertisers ideal audience, show them chicken nuggets sopped in pink gooey stuff with pretty music in the background and they will think it’s lovely and feed it to their kids. they take their politics the same way.
Unfortunately fox does not have a sole franchise on morning stupidity. Pat Buchanon was just on with Morning
MoronJoe proclaiming “this is a center-right nation.” This in glaring conflict with the naked fact that voters sent a 79 seat majority of Democrats to the House, an 18 seat majority of Democrats to the Senate and a Democrat to the Whithe House just over 1 year ago. Sam Stien of HuffPo, sitting right next to him let him get away with it. Very sad.Oooh — what do you have growing now? I’ve got pansies that have managed to hang on through repeated freezes, and a few asparagus sprouts, some VERY hardy lettuce, and rosemary in bloom. Other than that it’s still all brown…
Daffodils and hyacinths, and narcissi trying hard but they keep freezing before they’re ready to bloom. Lillies poking up just their tips now.
We can’t really do bulbs much here, as usually a) they rot, or b) it doesn’t get cold enough. This year was probably cold enough, though. I’m not a dedicated enough gardener to dig them up every year and store them in the fridge!
Is there another Coakley woman. Who is Liarman.
…narcissi…
sounds like a plant that there’s just no talking to…
on edit: do they need water, or are they just self-absorbed?
Arrogantsius … heh
leaves me wondering whether they need water or are just self-absorbed….
Bulbs are fine up here in Athens, my bride has some kind of distribution system for her garden club co-conspirators!
obviously sometimes I just amuse myself…
Swim is up…
I’m amused; still laughing at your yoo tube remark!
When I used to see Steve Doocy do comedy on WRC-TV I never imagined he was teh pig he is now.
Faux news is nothing but an extension of the Republican party and Ruberts Murdoch´s and Roger Ailes personal voice meter. I want to bring everyone´s attention to the phrase government run media. God forbid if these people get back in power and they start dictating the rules and law. Rubert Murdoch already owns at least seven major newspapers in at least four countrys. These people could attempt something like out of a James Bond movie with the media mogul taking over. Don´t laugh it is not too far fetched.
Is it Douchy is Douche.
We stopped the bleeding by electing a Democratic President, but we’re still being poisoned by the lies, hate, fear, and violence from the Terrorists at the disease ridden Fox News.
Until we end the constant smear from Fox, our county is in grave danger.
