Well look who showed up at the 38th Annual Hotel/Motel Art Fair and Book Burning yesterday…
Liz Cheney also came out swinging in her conference address.
“There’s no polite way to put this, but that kind of incompetence gets people killed,” Cheney said, accusing the Obama administration of missing warnings from the intelligence community that Yemeni terrorists were plotting an attack.
“There is no doubt that the daily intelligence briefings that the president receives contained much more information on the threat from Yemen,” she said, without a hint of irony…
If this was a reality-based community, as opposed to CPAC, Liz would then have turned around and arrested her father (and commenced the torture immediately, she is a Cheney after all).

About Firedoglake
The right wing depends on voters who prefer fictional histrionics to facts, which is their base. Ariana Huffington on KO last night put it well; “it’s the Washington establishment running against the Washington establishment”. Rants about teleprompters read off of teleprompters is the norm in the wingnut world.
you know, with the lack of prosecution of cheney for war crimes, I would have thought obama and he had a deal
man, obama really needs to throw his weight around, but of course we know that ain’t gonna happen
When the DoJ is still mostly wingnuts, since Pres.O. can’t get his appointees thru the Senate, how’s he going to make the case? I think it will happen.
Good lord you are an optimistic person. Whatever makes you think that Oh Bummah! will do a damn thing to go after his employers? The man is bought and paid for, he works for InsurPharma and the MIC if you think for one moment that he will “do the right thing” you are, I am afraid, sadly mistaken.
The coup happened…it’s over already. Big Business owns the Courts, the Congress and the WH. This weak president is controlled by money.
Do not agree with all the trashing of Pres. O., and that’s particularly a bunch of nonsense.
Welcome to Firedog Lake!
Deferment No. 5 — the gift that keeps on giving.
20% still think that bush was a good pres and even more believe in creationism so I guess one should not be surprised that there are still some that cannot get their heads around the fact that Oh Bummah! is a a consummate liar. The list of his non-accomplishments is astounding, his backtracking is worthy of a football defensive back and his “secret” deals with InsurPharma and others is truly an indication of where his loyalties lie.
I had hoped for a decent man to be in the WH after the last few occupants but I, like many other independent thinkers and voters, have come to the conclusion that Oh Bummah! is cut from the same cloth as his predecessors.
funny how much your independent thinking resembles the run of the mill comments by other Obama bashers.
it’s so cute when we make up funny names for people
Morning Attaturk and all,
So when she says”There’s no polite way to put this, but that kind of incompetence gets people killed,” was she talking about enhanced interrogations her father came up with and the goons they used that wound up Murdering people? Is that what can get you killed,Lizzy?
This is no time to bash Cheney, this is a bash Obama thread. . .oh, it’s not? My bad.
Good morning, pups. It’s Brooks, Cohen and Krugman today. Oh gawd, but Bobo is a moron. Today, in “The Power Elite,” he solemnly informs us that as the diversity and talent level of people at the top of society has increased, the trust in elites has declined. He actually has the following words in this thing: “Government used to be staffed by party hacks.” Used to be? What planet do you live on? Mr. Cohen says we should “Target Iran’s Censors,” and asks a question: Why is the U.S. Treasury holding up sales of software that would help Iranians communicate? Prof. Krugman addresses the “California Death Spiral,” and says surging health insurance premiums show the need for comprehensive, guaranteed coverage — which is exactly what Democrats are trying to accomplish.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got blueberry pancakes for breakfast. It’s not easy to type when you have a small cat in your lap who’s busy making biscuits and butting your hand, which is supposed to be patting him. He wins! Have a great day.
Thanks, Marion, just got a bulletin about Bobo waxing wistful about the good ol’ days. If only we’d elected Strom Thurmond, we’d have avoided all these problems….
What planet do you live on?
dunno, but when you find out, don’t try to use the info to prove that there’s intelligent life elsewhere in the universe….
It’s really dreadful. Towards the very end he says
I strongly believe he feels it’s VERY desirable… Asshole.
Bobo? An example of intelligent life? You forgot to close your snark tag!
Good morning.
In little covered news, there was a coup in Niger. Wonder if the new govt will phoney up some docs about Iranias buying yellow cake.
from a fellow commenter elsewhere, on Bobo;
‘He echoes the odd, obscene, utterly non-self-aware aside in a review Niall Ferguson wrote for the Times a couple of years ago:
(Philip Bobbitt’s) new book, “Terror and Consent,” is in many ways a manifesto for a new Atlanticism, not just a reassertion but a reinvention of the dominant role of the trans-Atlantic alliance. It will be read with pleasure by men of a certain age, class and education from Manhattan’s Upper East Side to London’s West End. ‘
This is so wrong on so many counts. TBogg, call your office.
He’s sorta Jewis too, I wouldn’t think he’d be all about wasp ascendancy.
WASP ascendancy wasn’t so much about family or religion, but it sure as hell was the great-granddaddy of all “old boy” networks. Bobo is certain he would fit right in… (I’m not sure whether they were really into sycophants, however.)
ok den
Swim is up…
Obama is throwing his weight around, unfortunately he’s a real lightweight.
Liz Cheney is positioning herself for a run at elected office. Probably fancies a senate seat as a stepping stone to a bigger piece of the power pie.
The current emperor has the same clothes that were passed down from the last emperor.
Ah, the guy who couldn’t shoot straight advising us on security matters!
It’s likely that Cheney is working for the cabal that runs the show behind the curtain and so Obama is more or less another puppet as W was.
We can’t tell if he knew this when he was running for becoming president or was read in to the program after he took the oath. But he has turned out to be a W who speaks better.
Cheney was in on 9/11 and that was in the planning stages for perhaps years and they needed to “steal the election” so they could advance the agenda of the cabal or what I refer to as the silent coup d’etat which leaves the government in place. No generals storming the White House. This coup has been taking over the apparatus of government “legally” and extra legally for a long time.
They have so much power now that the democratic institutions including the fourth estate are now all ineffective and neutered and all for show. We have become a Hypocrisy and are no longer a democracy.
Every coup kit comes with a full set of fake documents, they’re in the big yellow envelope at the bottom of the box.
Got an incomplete kit?
Call your
CIA handlerlocal US AID chief, or any American oil company representative.I admire your fortitude in plowing through Brooks’s column. His input on topics of the day is mostly irrelevant and even then off the mark.
While American PhD candidates in the hard sciences has been ceding ground to foreigners, and the percentage of the population enrolling in college is dropping it is a patent impossibility that the elite in the country is more talented.
Why they waste good editorial space on him and especially on Collins is maybe the best counterexample of the poor talent among the elite.
