A Doritos ad where a male suitor is slapped by a five year old boy:
…a child smacking an adult across the face is not funny. It is, in fact, one of the last things society should tolerate….If a child did that to me, I would grab his offending arm and apply enough force to make it clear that he will never do that again.
Yes, a grown man physically dominating a young child, truly a real man’s man that Dennis Prager.
But with Dennis, there’s always more — and by more I mean worse — in this case that bonus ties a tortilla chip commercial to a justification for bombing third worlders into smithereens.
Immoral violence breeds violence; moral violence (such as just wars, police work, and appropriate parental discipline) reduces violence.
That was a smooth move there you crazy ass, real smooth.

“Moral violence”? Was not aware such a thing existed.
And to think I would have never heard of this clown if I wasn’t up reading this!
It’s a shame they ruined Mr. Prager’s Super Bowl experience. They should apologize.
“Moral violence” is right up there with clean porn.
Indeed it does. I understand that waterboarding is “moral violence” and, to illustrate the difference, suicide bombing of invaders to your country is “immoral violence”. It is in the Bible don’cha know.
you know, before he got involved in politics I enjoyed his show, I used to listen to him, along side my favorite ira fistel, I also loved mr kabc
prager went off the deep end since though
I especially like the inclusion of “police work” in the moral violence catagory. Off the deep end doesn’t quite cover it. Out of his f*cking mind is more like it.
Good morning all and thanks for the post, Attaturk. BTW the subject loon of this post is a favorite target of the kids at Sadly No.
Good morning, pups. It’s Collins and Kristof today. Ms. Collins says it’s “Time to Party Like It’s 1854,” and that the trick in conservative circles today is to get just furious enough about Washington’s encroachment onto states rights without quite falling over the edge into Fort Sumter. Mr. Kristof has a question: “Do We Really Want the Status Quo on Health Care?” He says two central and interlinked problems of the health care system, access and cost, will grow worse as long as the current system stays in place.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got apple walnut muffins this morning. I wonder if Mr. Kristof knows what’s brewing down here. The rocket scientist who’s the Governor of my lovely state needs to increase revenue. He’s decided that he needs to raise taxes. (A Republican wanting to raise taxes — it’s a freaking miracle.) What has he proposed? Increasing the tax on cigarettes? Hell no. He’s proposing a TAX ON HOSPITALS AND INSURANCE PLANS. I’m not making this up, you know… Have a great day.
And every Mom I know would say Don’t you touch my Child with that I’m getting the Belt Voice aimed at Dennis.
But maybe thats only Lefty Moms?
The lovely folks at World O’ Crap have also noticed Mr. Prager. And in other news of the bizarre, lunatic and Republican Mike Pitts,a state legislator in South Carolina, has introduced a bill that would ban paper money and require gold and silver coins as payment for any debt. I’m not making this up, you know… I just hope that high octane stoopid doesn’t leak south. We’ve got enough trouble as it is…
Violence begets violence, except in Prager’s world where it’s okay if he does it.
So by this logic our immoral wars will breed more violence, that I can agree with.
I know Dennis doesn’t think our wars are immoral but torture, killing how many civilians, while not going after Ossama the guy who hurt us makes our wars immoral and stupid, very stupid.
Where will they get the gold none of the states have that kind of money.
I may never be able to re-attach my jaw. Just as well, as words escape me anyway, both for Mr. Prager & that fool in S.C.
You’re trying to make a wingnut, conspiracy theorist Republican make sense. You might as well try to empty the ocean with a coffee spoon.
Part one: Praeger is a MoDo wannabe
Part two: Education is war. That’ll larn ya, darn ya.
Prager comes across as a man who is addicted to authoritarianism, primarily his view of himself as the authority figure. He is “daddy” of the world and expresses himself that way. Unfortunately, he is frustrated by the fact that everyone doesn’t follow his rules — this is expressed by his bursts of rage. I pity his own children because they will need a lot of therapy to get over what he put them through.
Everything I’ve said about Obama forcing people to buy insurance in a recession being death for us in the election that goes double for your Governor the GOP hate taxes but they can accept sin taxes.
Health care costs however are already outrageous and many insurance companies are raising rates now. So if the insurance companies raise rates the state I assume collects more taxes?
Our side won’t like this but the Righties will go ape shit on this. I think this is the stupidest political idea of the day! heck maybe the stupidest political idea of the month.
Morning all,
Wordy SOB
Try this “violence breeds violence”
He says that moral violence reduces violence but it doesn’t. It only shows your kids that they can treat their kids like you treated them once and if they decide to have any.
I don’t think the rights of a parent should be trampled on, but I also think that parenting should require a state license because too many of our kids become statistics and casualties because of people like that.
Our schools can’t afford to raise these kids because of parents like him, and they are. Have you turned on Sesame Street lately? It’s a lot different than what it was like when we were kids. It’s not all letters and numbers anymore. Some people need to wake up and realize that if they aren’t going to raise their kids appropriately, then they do not deserve to raise their kids. In my opinion, those said kids should be taken from them.
But I digress. Such is life. Such pain and suffering is truly our strength. Only a fool would turn away from that.
I say bring the pain.
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. However I’m trying to subvert his language to reach conclusions I know will piss him off.
When Dennis is told to lash the sea, he doesn’t ask why.
He is I don’t see MoDo advocating violence toward kids. Mean Girl gossip yes is Dennis a Mean Girl? Authoritarians do prefer to run elections based on gossip rather than facts.
Extra points for the Emperor Nero reference for an Authoritarian its always someone else’s fault.
Dennis what would a Cop do if some Mom told him some black guy grabbed my kid?
So lemme get this straight: Dennis hurts a child who offends him or wages an ill-advised pre-emptive war that he can contort into a just war and then 10 or 12 or 20 years later he finds out whether it bred more or less violence by whether the child grows up to be a violent criminal or there is blowback from the “collateral damage” to his war. And he has really good ways to measure whether there was more or less violence than there would have been if he hadn’t taken his own actions And by which time he can rationalize that it couldn’t really have been his actions, which were “moral violence” as opposed to the immoral kind, of course, that bred the reactive violence. Nice system ya got worked out there, Denny, ya sick fuck.
Dennis is a manly guy. I bet he could stand up to a miniature dachshund too.
whatchoo talkin bout willis?
Good morning.
Stiglitz is guest on democracynow.
It must have been 30 yrs ago, I’m on business in LA, driving the freeway and this nut comes on the radio and says something really “weird” about violence and a rabbi and a dysfunctional family and responsibility – and I’m trying to figure out WTF he’s talking about. It was my 1st introduction to Dennis Prager. Didn’t know what to make of him then and the same applies today. What’s that song lyric – “still crazy after all these years”?
Maybe he should consider Focus on the Family’s Dobson’s approach of sharing a shower with the youthful offender, so the youngin could be properly humbled by Dennis’ manly manliness.
Note to Dennis Prager: if that five year old was my kid and you grabbed his arm and twisted it or whatever, you should know that his father will [edited by mod]. Don’t touch my kids, period.
[MODNOTE; please, no violent imagery, thanks.]
Dobson also believes in beating children into submission. See *Dare to Discipline* and some of his other works. Prager would seem to be a follower.
Monsters, both.
My correction, my apology.
methinks Dennis’ daddy might have used a little too much tough love or didn’t take him into the men’s showers enough.
