Looks like Dubya and Jeb! got together for a “town hall” at some high school in Naples, Florida. The Bushes didn’t allow cameras, but a reporter caught Dubya trashing the Quitter.
The brothers differed in opinion on subjects such as Sarah Palin. Although, both tried to stay neutral, George W. said vice presidents don’t win elections.
Now I can’t tell if this is sloppy reporting or if Dubya meant to say “vice presidential candidates.” But it certainly doesn’t sound like a compliment.
Then there’s this.
Most notably the Bush brothers disagreed on the Senate race between Marco Rubio and Charlie Crist. Jeb Bush says he is officially neutral, but is disappointed in Crist’s embrace of the stimulus bill. George W. Bush joked “who the hell is Marco Rubio”, something that even caught the attention of this high schooler.
Ouch. In case you didn’t know, Marco Rubio is the teabaggers’ golden boy in Florida.
Also: way to keep it classy in front of the sophomores, Chimpy.

About Firedoglake
Yep, time to break out the Fritos Scoops and guac. The silly season has hit FL. State Sen Charlie Justice has fired his first shot in his campaign to unseat Rep Bill Young, the Dem base is begging FL CFO Alex Sink to come up with some sort of message and the Rethugs are runnin’ around with their asses on fire.
Ugh! I thought more than a year later I might be able to look at a picture of that guy and not feel any urge to vomit. I was wrong.
So much frivolity ensues?
We could have an idiot playoff between Florida and Arizona and the winner could meet Georgia!
Why isn’t Bush in jail?
Throw in South Carolina, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana and you can have a play-off
Vice presidents don’t win elections… except his dad. And Richard Nixon.
He was probably trying to aim at Al Gore, which would just be yet another demonstration of what a small, petty little man he really is.
Ugh… If I never see that mug shot (without an orange jumpsuit) again it will be too soon.
Double elim!
Because it would require a functioning republic to put him there.
I’ve been gathering signatures to get Justice on the ballot. Just shy of 4500 total sigs needed. When I was with Samm Simpson’s campaign we pulled that off twice with time to spare. But other than that I’m just hidin’ an’ watchin’.
Shit, we could start another coference.
I’m trying to read your post but I just can’t look at that picture of Bush, sorry.
You got referees lined up, for this exciting contest?
What ya gonna call the final, final, “game”, the “bowl”?
;~DW
Yea, and call it. . .the SEC!
They’ll play “call your own”.
This is gettin’ better and better.
Americans are gonna love it, “free-for-all”.
I can see many missions gettin’ accomplished.
Raven, you is a genius!
DW
Or, to simplify, there could just be one big race to the bottom.
sheeeeeeeet
With the “Not Quite SEC” waiting in the wings (Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi)
Isn’t that what the 2000, 2004, and 2008 elections were about?
To late.
I wonder how that motivational speakery thing is going.
You owe EDP a beverage. *g*
Not too surprising that GWB doesn’t know who Marco is – he said he never reads newspapers so it’s a good bet that he doesn’t watch tv news either. Doesn’t want to clutter up his beautiful mind.
Tony Stewart, a civil-rights activist, co-founded the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations in Coeur d’Alene was bothered by the “common message of intolerance for the opposition.”
He knows exactly who he is.
So I do. What’ll be Evil one?
Of course he does but he just thinks he’s so cute when he says things like that. He’s like a little kid showing off for mommy’s friends.
How about a nice pint of bitter?
Purty danged good, apparently
W spoke at a US Chamber of Commerce sponsored “event” in Erie, PA, a while back.
Packed house, observers said.
Appears the Chamber, nationwide, is thrilled to call upon the once-upon-a- time brush farmer from Crawford, TX.
Don’t think we got to worry ’bout George and the unemployment line.
DW
Which, in fact, he is, or would be if he weren’t over sixty years old.
Comin at ya
We could have done without the picture. Its comical the way this guys name and picture have completely vanished down the 1984 style memory hole ( the media) since he left office. The Gopers talk as if Obamarahma has been Pres. since Clinton. BV$H whose that never heard of the guy. Seems to be working though thats the scary part. Maybe they’ve done a Men in Black on the public?
Watch it now.
So does this mean Rubio will win handily, having been trashed by El Ustabe?
That’s precisely why we need to see more of Bush, not less of him.
Jon Walker has a fresh cross-post available: Can Some Democratic Challengers Win On An Anti-Washington Message?
This is gonna get nasty between Rubio and Crist. There are still a lot of party heavy hitters in the Bush camp. It’s really hard to tell which way this is gonna go.
VPs don’t win elections?
Don’t tell Cheney that. He thinks he’s stilling running the country.
Also too:
I love that Bush is showing up right around now. I hope that he shows up for tons of photo ops. And that his mug is posed right next to that jobs loss chart. I love that.
I remember the night in 1999 when these two traitors assured us of their ” Victory” over the call of Florida going Gore, sitting in the room with Mr. CIA election specialist, Daddy.
That they walk as free men is a testament the state of the union.
Let’s not forget that Bush and the members of his criminal administration are being shielded from prosecution by Barack Obama and the Democrats.
And, wouldn’t you know it, Joe Biden, who actually thinks Dick Cheney is, and I quote, “a fine fellow.”
This has to be an example of people looking out for their own kind.
Because the other prisoners would protest.
murderers and rapists have standards, doncha know
No doubt, ‘smokescreen’ en toto . Go Bush Go Bush straight to jail
