  • This is all going to end so well.
  • Vice refuses to say Palin is qualified to be president.
  • But really, can’t the networks just stop feeding the troll?
  • Slaying GOP talking points on national teevee.
  • Silly Glenzilla: the Baptists are white Christian ‘Merckans.
  • Hehindeedy.

Good morning all.

Errant rocket seems like a metaphor for U.S. military.

How many accidents is that for Biden’s motorcade?

Hey, SD, if you’re around, Amy Goodman did a brief item on Hands-across-the-sand at the end of headlines.

Hopefully fewer than the number of accidents coming from Biden’s mouth.

Mornin’, BT, pups

This from CNN isn’t going to help our Baptist friends in Haiti.

A Dominican man who is acting as a legal adviser to 10 Americans arrested on child kidnapping charges in Haiti is himself facing allegations of human trafficking in El Salvador and human smuggling charges in the United States.

Scarborough complaining that politics has been dumbed down by sound bites while he hosts a show that pushes the very sound bites he is complaining about.

NPR had Cokie Roberts doing her summary. At the end, she said “Good to be with ya’!” Surely has been practicing her Palin sign off…but why?

I make it a point to get in the shower when Kookie Cokie comes on. That way I can miss her inanities and get scrubbed for work at the same time. A twofer.

I visited the Politico web site the other day and you must be logged in just to read thread comments. What weinnies, trying to hide free speech from us. That web site sucks.

I’ve been thinking it’s just me. I’ve been a very longtime NPR listener, but I think I am more politically active and educated than I used to be (thanks in no small part to FDL).

When I hear her, I think of Marion in Savannah’s “gurgles” description of some of the pundits like Dowd and the Pasty One. Cokie gurgles.

Yeah, those of us who are “of a certain age” (I’m almost exactly a year older than Kookie) dread facing that future.

I guess if my given name was Mary Martha Corinne Morrison Claiborne Boggs, I’d be Cokie too.

Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.

Obama, President’s Day is a good day to make a couple recess appointments, particularly of those whose initials are Becker and Johnsen. Got cajones?

US KIA Irak: 4,376

US KIA Afghanistan: 990

Iraki and Afghan casualities: estimates vary to over 1.5M – I’m thinkin’ we should try to keep track of the Afghan casualties from his current operation, which stand at 12 so far as I know

US MBS 2010: 5,580 and counting

Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.

Namaste

It’s like a tear in the hands of a western man
Tell you about salt, carbon and water
But a tear to a Chinese man
He’ll tell you about sadness and sorrow or the love of a man and
A woman.

Clinton: Iran is becoming a military dictatorship

Which seems pretty ironic, considering, the US military pretty much runs the US government.

A quibble with the second item headline:

Vice refuses to say Palin …

Either “Ex-VP” or “Cheney”. As written, it leaves the impression that it was Biden who made the statement, while the link shows that it was Cheney.
