Gotta love this new brand of bipartisanship…Republicans get some of the things they want, Dems get screwed. Is Bush still the prez?

After Gingrich assailed the administration for reading Miranda Rights to Detroit undie bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, Stewart drew a comparison to something that happened under George W. Bush.

“Didn’t they do the same with Richard Reid, who was the shoe bomber?” he asked the Republican icon.

“Richard Reid was an American citizen,” insisted Gingrich.

I was telling the wife about … digby’s post yesterday – possible death tax bailouts of paris hilton so they can throw some crumbs to us chumps -

I said that I wouldn’t f’king care if bush was back. At least the swarmy selfish prick was supposed to rip us off.

She says, “with bush, we were just terrified, but, not disappointed.”

of course, you’d be disappointed with bush/cheney if you expected anything but stealing and lying … ummmm, grow up?

when are the washington primaries?

rmm.

Mornin’, BT, pups

“Richard Reid was an American citizen

Note to Gingrich the Null:

Reid continues to be an American citizen.

Did Honda and Toyota hire a bunch of auto design folks from GM?

John Phillip Walker Lindh or Hamza Walker Lindh as the case may be.

The only difference between Reid (Abdul Raheem / Tariq Raja) and Abdulmutallab is the nationality and the location of the sparklers.

Geez, what’s going on in Japan?

Japan? Most of these vehicles are made in North America, so they are having as many recalls as any other vehicles made here. Nothing new. Can’t figure out why the media is running with this. Government websites keep track of ALL recalls, and this is absolutely nothing new. I purchased a Chev Cavalier new in 2000 and it had 4 recalls, that never made it to the media. I’m sure a check on ANY vehicle will find exactly the same.

Another one of those “I’m so old moments.”

Apparently the current crop of journalists are too young to remember GM and Ford being taken to court multiple times over serious design issues that cost lives and were none-the-less left in place. The Ford Pinto cost/benefit analysis of fixing the gas tank design being a classic. The hoopla over these recalls probably has more to do with a sense of America first in a down economy than anything else.

Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.

US KIA Irak: 4,375

US KIA Afghanistan: 986

Iraki and Afghan casualties: estimates vary to over 1.5M

US MBS 2010: 4,960 and counting

Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.

Namaste

You are probably right. I get a real kick out of websites, where the patriotic drivel “shop local” blah, blah, blah, is the overwhelming majority. These people are too stupid to realize, these corporations employ damn near as many people as the Big 3, pay similar wages, and contribute just as much economically. But, but, but, buy American! If the media and these morons had tails, they’d be the ones on Funniest Home Videos, running in circles chasing their own tails. There were years when GM alone, had massive profits, but STILL received an income tax rebate! Hello?

The teabaggers need to read those pocket constitutions they carry around .
There is no language in there stating only citizens have rights , something they’d know if they only read those little props they carry in their pockets.

And the teabaggers have their warped view of our constitution reflected back to them by political insiders like Susan Collins and Newt Gingrich. If idiots like Tom Tancredo are proposing civics literacy tests for voters when he speaks at the Teabagapalooza why can’t we at least have federal officeholders who understand our founding documents?

It’s shameful.
