Aloha, ES…!
Aloha ES and Ct
Eureka!
Howdy hi ES, CT and bb :D
Wow, thanks for the Strange Boys vid ES. Sounds like late ’60s garage band music to me. Brought a smile to my face.
Just got back from the SLO Down Pub where the Blue grass was fine. Surfrider has a meeting once a month. Met a very nice and single lawyer who like yoga and has a family practice. She new me by name! Nice evening til I spilled some berry juice on the Secretary’s books. So i bought her a glass of wine. Maybe all is well.
Dude!
Flowers are the only thing that can rescue you now!
Sounds like the wine worked…! ;-)
I vote chocolate, bb. How about chocolate flowers?
Thank for the help guys. You’re right Choclates, flowers and a bottle of wine. But but I like the lawyer girl as she is friendly. She also has a successful practice. I am playing over my head but what the heck. She also is from my town. I am a fast mover got her business card. Well it is nice to make nice friends.
I like Ray Bonneville, ES. (Knew you were a big Saints fan, *G*)
Your Freud is showing.
That last sentence leans to the Freudian side, bb. :-)
I sensed that. Drink, newt?
Root beer, please. I am on the wagon until SnarKassandra becomes President.
Hey Fenestrate how you doing tonight? I cooked up a little organic millet last night to add to my soups. Nice way to make your PH more akaline.
The tunes had me wondering if ES might be rooting for the Saints.
I like both videos, The Strange Boys are new to me.
Coming your way, stage left.

There used to be an A&W about a block from my house. Those floats were epic when I was in grade school.
Much obliged.
LIves. Spelling is importante.Freudian slip?
Dayam, That’s a long ways off, dood…! ;-)
Last time I drove to Tahoe, I went looking for an A&W float. Found one about 5 miles off the road just past Sac. Hadn’t had one in about 10 years.
May have to get one for myself…
OK, Bristol then.

oh, i love ray bonneville. saw him at a house concert here and decided i’m marrying him the minute he asks.
There’s one pretty close, but I have withheld, cause of my girlish figure.
Hey Mr Why, everybody I talk with is rooting for the Saints.
Oh yeah, I keep forgetting about that…as much as possible.
Doing great tonight. Oooo, I dearly love millet. If I wasn’t snowed in right now, I’d go get me some and make millet cakes. (like buckwheat cakes … er, pancakes that is … but with millet) But then I’d have to get some sorghum syrup to go with them. And then I’d fine a dozen other things I just have to have.
Probably a good thing there’s so much snow tonight.

Hey you fellow Ohio person, we got about 6 inches so far, all wet sloppy stuff. Good time to stay in!
Hi ES and everyone
Evening. Boys night out at FDL?
on edit /s
Yep, all that hollow reverb it starts out with, and then is ladened on the git leads . .
The first vid is total solo artist NOLA dedicated . . .
Interesting mix, the two . . . for this weekend.
The Dude Abides! AND, maybe scores?
TTFN!
Hi Hi. About half that here but very wet, sticky, slippery stuff. No fun to walk in and forget driving anywhere. At least until the plows make it back here.
Hot coco night for sure.
evening, ES
Hi Sunny! Listening to a one-sided debate on Moyers. Lessig is trying to keep his cool, but this Gillespie dolt is very trying. Are all Gillespies’ thug spokesmen?
Hi Sunny, PPD
hi margot
What’s on my mind tonight?
Looks like Obama is about ready to concede defeat on health policy reform.
:(
Hey Margot!
Aren’t we the late late night pups! We have only about 3 inches, but it is steady and very windy.
I would point out that this is a ‘cigars & cognac’ moment for the Goopers, but that has been true since Inauguration Day.
Rudderless.
Spineless.
Feckless.
And these are the compliments.
evening, CE
Hoping this version is still possible.

Good evening PPDCUS! We have a lovely fire roaring here this am.
The Whitehouse is trying to walk back from that. Plumline for instance.
Of course, there’s no telling what’s really going on. I read somewhere that Obama is supporting the PO again. It’s enough to make me start talking to myself.
Yes, getting windy here too.
You have any good easy recipes for chicken?
Just read a chapter of “Yoga the spirit and prctice of moving into stillness”. Interesting to get the understanding and purpose along with the physical. Class in the AM deep sleep awaits. Hoot hoot all you night owls.
Last weekend I brined three on-bone chicken breasts. Rinsed and dried really well, and then put them on top of a bed of sliced onions, garlic and lemons. Roast 400F for one hour. Great with any rice, taters, soup or whatever. Secret: brine your chicken.
Did the storm pass you by, CE?
Just starting to read that and I get really angry.
I just want to yell at him, Give it up, man! The Goopers are NEVER going to like you. Not now, not ever.
nite BB, have fun
It has been snowing like a beast since 5:00 p.m. but the accumulation has only been about three inches. It is very fine. By Cleveland standards, meh, just decoration.
Yum, thank you very much. You could have a second career as a cooking teacher.
Yeah, we’ve all had enough of bipartisanship stances, haven’t we? That’s been a farce since forever.
(very quiet voice): I learned everything about food from the year I lived in Paris. The secret — buy great ingredients and treat them with respect.
And I forgot to tell you to slip a clove of garlic under the skin of each piece, rub them with olive oil and sprinkle with paprika.
Are all Gillespies’ thug spokesmen?
Archie Bunker morphed into Bill Gillespie… major progress, albeit fictional. otoh, may be the exception that proves the rule.
My sister loves that show. I was thinking of this termite:

This is just me (I hope) but I can’t stand most news now. I am too bitterly disappointed to listen to it.
We had it, we threw it away, the end.
I smell the fish rotting from the head down.
The precipitation, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind …
I watch Moyers and Democracy Now. And a sunday AM show if Rachel is on. Democracy now is the best source. Their 10 minutes of news at the top of the show covers real news, not what networks produce. Then Amy has 2-3 great guests.
Although having the real story can be more depressing.
LOL. Great clip – stellar Rachel.
Is your sister an All in the Family or Heat of the Night fan?
She liked “All”, but she’s fanatical about “heat.” She records them all and then she and her husband watch them most nights-sometimes 2 a nite. Then when I’m there, she’ll ask if I want to watch them. Kinda like me and “West Wing.” I have 24 recorded as we post.
Margot, it is hard to take. I get NPR news on the hour on my classical station and do.not.listen.
Right before they stopped the West Wing re-runs here, they did an intensive marathon. Got a lot of it on tape, but my player flunked and I never labeled or edited the tapes.
Had good intentions, but it’s a hopeless mishmash(
Aw, that sucks. Here, they’re on Bravo at 5 & 6 am. I watch them if I have nothing to do. I love language and especially love the way Aaron Sorkin uses it. I record “The Unit” for the same reason. Mamet writes about half of those scripts.
Good evening/morning LLN gang. Can’t sleep so drivin by.
I’m known for putting people to sleep, so you’re in the right place oldnslow. *g*
g’nite pups.

Capitalism, 2010 style:
Goldman bonus: $9 million for one worker.
Kodak bonus: $10.2 million for 5,900 workers.
Good morning all.
How much snow? (None in mid-Hudson yet. Not much expected.)
Zero. We’re even further north, missing all the fun.
Also. This so definitely disproves global warming. Totally.
Gee, and we got comfort food recipes & everything last night. Guess we’ll have to eat comfort food without the snow. Works for me.
Mornin!
Good morning! Got snow?
Good morning, pups. It’s Collins, Blow and Herbert this morning. Ms. Collins, in “No Holds Barred,” says there is a stupendous lack of real enthusiasm in the Senate for doing anything as dramatic as eliminating senators’ right to stop things. Mr. Blow, in “Obama Gets His Groove Back,” says President Obama’s new sense of vigor comes as a welcome reprieve from a year in which he toddled about as if someone had slipped him an Ambien. Mr. Herbert says “Time is Running Out,” and that rescuing the U.S. economy will require a commitment, and undoubtedly sacrifices, that need to start now.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got waffles with warm maple syrup. I hope the pups who had all the snow dumped on them manage to dig out okay, and that if there were power interruptions they’ve been fixed by now. We had lots of heavy rain, but at least that doesn’t need to be shoveled. Have a great day.
Obama on Ambien. Seems about right.
Some, I’d say around 6″. But it’s hard to tell since it’s drifting.

Do you have to do any shoveling? Keep warm, anyhow.
A little shoveling, though I don’t mind it. Still snowing pretty hard so shoveling will wait… but breakfast can’t :)
Eat hearty. I’m gonna get some breakfast too.
Actually, you’re probably better off doing your shoveling in spurts rather than waiting until the end. Easier to move the small amounts than trying to do the full monty. You still spend about the same amount of time shoveling, it’s just easier on the back and such.
My sidewalk is only 10 feet long :)
“Elkridge, Maryland, two miles west of Baltimore, hit by 30.2 inches of snow with more falling at rate of 3-4 inches – NBC News”
new post up…
Still. What about your driveway? When I lived in Rome, I had to shovel out to the sidewalk from the porch (the mailman would not beat a path through the snow), plus a path to the driveway in back then shovel out enough to go to work. After the first winter, I did get a plow guy who would come by when 3 inches or more fell. It only took him a couple of passes but that saved me a half hour to hour of shovel time depending on the depth. At $10 a snow fall, it was well worth it (he told me that his plowing business broke even at 18 snowfalls and I was probably his smallest ‘client’ – one year I was there, he broke out the plows 34 times)
No driveway here — street parking.
Heh. Then have fun digging your car out after the plows have gone by a few times. (Places like upstate NY that get a large annual snow fall often have ‘no on street parking’ rules (especially on the heavier traveled streets) that require cars to be pulled completely off the road, onto the sidewalk if there’s no driveway/garage)
