“What’s the CBO score?” is one way to judge between competing health reform efforts, but hardly the best way. How about asking the questions raised by Faithful Reform in Health Care: how many lives will be saved, and how many jobs preserved?

Polis, Pingree Push to Restore Public Option to Health Care Reform

Two freshman Democratic Representatives, Jared Polis (CO2) and Chellie Pringree (ME1), are pushing hard to include a public option in any reconciliation measure meant to fix the current Senate bill. Polis and Pingree are currently circulating a letter in support of the public option, and are looking for signatures from their colleagues.

Lynch stated that it “stinks to high heaven what happened here” and called it inexcusable, saying “It makes me doubt your commitment to the American people.” Geithner replied that the American people would not have benefited from AIG defaulting, suggesting that was the only option other than paying off the counter-parties at par.
